AGM Rattler V3
Founded in 2019 by a team of industry veterans, including Mark and Gary Tarakanov, AGM Global Vision has rapidly ascended to become a dominant force in the electro-optics market. Headquartered in Springerville, Arizona, with additional facilities in Grand Prairie, Texas, and Sofia, Bulgaria, the company leverages decades of collective experience from its founders’ previous successes at brands like ATN and Armasight. Their mission centers on democratizing high-end technology, transitioning advanced thermal and night vision capabilities from the exclusive domain of military professionals to accessible tools for hunters, law enforcement, and outdoor enthusiasts worldwide.
Thermal imaging was once a “black magic” technology reserved for tier-one military operators and those with five-figure budgets. However, the release of the AGM Rattler V2 and the more recent V3 has fundamentally shifted that landscape. These two generations of optics represent more than just incremental hardware updates; they are the bridge that has brought professional-grade detection and precision to the average hunter and property owner.
The V2 series was designed to fix the ergonomic growing pains of the original Rattler while pushing the limits of mid-range thermal sensors. It established the baseline for what a modern, accessible thermal scope should look like.
Sensitivity Revolution: The V2 introduced a sub-20mK thermal sensor. In layman’s terms, “mK” (milliKelvin) measures how small a temperature difference the scope can see. A lower number means more detail. While older scopes struggled in humidity, the V2 can distinguish the individual tufts of fur on a coyote even in thick fog.
The Power Solution: One of the greatest barriers for the average man was the cost and hassle of CR123 batteries. The V2 moved to a proprietary, rechargeable, high-capacity Li-ion battery pack, providing up to 11 hours of runtime.
User-Centric Design: It added “Shot-Activated Recording” (SAR), ensuring hunters didn’t have to fumble with buttons during the adrenaline of a shot. The raised 5-button layout allowed for intuitive use in total darkness with gloves.
If the V2 was the workhorse, the V3 is the precision instrument. Released to push the technology into the premium spec bracket while maintaining the Rattler’s compact, accessible form factor.
Sub-15mK Sensitivity: The V3 pushes sensitivity even further, offering arguably the clearest image AGM has ever produced. This level of clarity helps ensure a positive ID (identifying a neighbor’s dog vs. a coyote) at much longer distances.
Integrated Laser Rangefinder (LRF) & Ballistics: The standout feature of the V3 is the in-lens LRF. Estimating distance at night is notoriously difficult because thermal removes depth perception. The V3 not only tells you the distance (up to 1,000 yards) but uses an onboard ballistic calculator to tell you exactly where to hold your reticle.
Shutterless “NUC-Free” Tech: Most thermal scopes “freeze” for a split second periodically to recalibrate (Non-Uniformity Correction). The V3 uses a shutterless system that performs this correction algorithmically, meaning your image never freezes at the critical moment of a shot.
Massive Display Upgrade: The V3 640 models feature a 2560×2560 OLED display. This provides a circular, more natural field of view that feels like looking through a traditional glass optic.
AGM’s strategy with the Rattler series has been to “democratize” the night.
The Rattler V2 remains the best “bang-for-your-buck” for the average hunter who needs all-night battery life. However, for the user who wants to remove all guesswork with range-finding and ballistic holds, the V3 represents the new gold standard of “attainable” high-end thermal.

Most emergencies don’t happen where you expect them — or when you’re ready for them.
In those moments, preparedness isn’t about making perfect decisions. It’s about removing friction so you can act. A filled trauma kit helps do exactly that. The contents are selected to work together, packed for accessibility, and ready when time matters — without second-guessing what to include or whether something important was missed.
That’s why we pair trauma kits with padded slings. One supports how you carry and manage your rifle; the other supports preparedness when circumstances change.
This Presidents’ Day weekend, purchasing a padded sling includes 20% off a filled trauma kit, making it easier to round out your setup with intention.
It’s not about urgency or alarm – it’s about being thoughtful, responsible, and ready for everyday realities.

HOME HOLSTERS AMMO CARRIERS BELTS FAQ
February 2026
Now available for the Springfield Operator AOS, the Concealable™ 2.0 is a thoroughly modern version of the strongside belt holster!
Building on over four decades of success with the original Concealable, the 2.0 version is updated for 21st century gun carriers. Cut low at the front, the new design accommodates most popular carry-style red dot optics. The raised sweat guard protects the wearer’s body from the pistol, and the pistol from the body’s natural perspiration. A mild butt-forward cant offers an easy draw from behind the dominant-side hip while also enhancing concealment with larger defensive pistols.
The Concealable 2.0’s unique two-piece construction is contoured on the body side to the natural curve of the hip, keeping all the molding on the front of the holster, allowing for significantly more comfortable carry and a narrower profile than an ordinary pancake type holster. (For an expanded discussion on forward molding versus the traditional pancake design, please see our FAQ.)
Hand-molded to fit specific handguns, the Concealable 2.0 features a deeply hand-molded exterior for excellent retention properties and superior appearance, firing grip accessibility for speed, and double-stitched seams for long-lasting durability.
Constructed of premium steerhide in black or tan, it’s made to fit belts up to 1 1/2″.

If you’ve ever stared at your factory Glock sights and thought, “Surely we can do better than plastic ‘ball-in-a-box’,” you aren’t alone. Glock sights are the “placeholder tires” of the gun world—functional, but the first thing most of us swap out.
Enter the XS Sights New Optic Height Fiber Optic Sights. These aren’t just another set of irons; they are specifically built to play nice with the red dot revolution while keeping things bright and punchy.
XS Sights has moved beyond just “Big Dots.” This new set features a high-visibility fiber optic front (available in green or red) paired with a serrated, blacked-out rear.
Optic-Ready Height: These are tall enough to give you a “Lower 1/5th” co-witness. This means they stay out of the way of your red dot’s window but are right there if your battery decides to quit mid-drill.
Built Like a Tank: Unlike the factory plastic, these are CNC-machined steel. They’ll survive a slide rack off a belt or a barricade without flinching.
Light-Hungry Design: The front sight has an open-top cradle that lets in an impressive amount of ambient light, making that fiber rod glow even on overcast days.
The Fire Storm 250
In the rapidly evolving landscape of unmanned warfare, the collaboration between Israeli aerospace innovator Aerotor Unmanned Systems, Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), and US firearms giant SIG Sauer has produced a groundbreaking platform: the Fire Storm 250.
At the heart of this system is the Apus 60 (often referenced within the broader Apus family, including the Apus 25 tactical variant), a high-endurance quadcopter that bridges the gap between small, battery-limited drones and heavy, manned helicopters.
The Apus series is designed to overcome the “battery wall” that plagues traditional quadcopters. While typical electric drones struggle to stay airborne for more than 40 minutes, the Apus utilizes a Central Steering System (CSS) and a heavy-fuel engine to achieve helicopter-like persistence.
Key Technical Specifications
In early 2026, SIG Sauer officially joined IAI’s armed quadcopter program. This partnership transforms the Apus from a reconnaissance tool into a precision-strike loitering platform known as the Fire Storm 250.
SIG Sauer has integrated its M250 Light Machine Gun (LMG)—the lightweight belt-fed weapon selected for the U.S. Army’s Next Generation Squad Weapon (NGSW) program—onto the drone.
Micro-RCWS: The weapon is mounted on a proprietary Micro Remote-Controlled Weapon System. This mount is gyrostabilized to compensate for the drone’s movement and the weapon’s recoil.
Ammunition: The system typically carries 200 rounds of either 7.62x51mm NATO or the high-pressure 6.8x51mm (.277 SIG Fury) ammunition.
Precision Optics: The drone utilizes a SIG-developed electro-optical system with 10x optical zoom and 5x infrared zoom, allowing for target detection at ranges up to 25 kilometers.
The Fire Storm 250 is not designed for “kamikaze” missions. Instead, it is a reusable asset intended for Persistent Close Air Support (PCAS).
Loitering Capability: Because it can stay airborne for hours, it can provide “overwatch” for a moving convoy or a forward operating base (FOB), ready to engage threats immediately.
Urban Warfare: Its VTOL (Vertical Take-Off and Landing) nature allows it to operate from narrow streets or rooftops, providing a “sniper in the sky” capability that is difficult for enemies to track.
Recoil Management: Demonstration videos have shown the Apus platform firing rapid semi-automatic or burst fire with minimal “drift,” thanks to the CSS which makes micro-adjustments to the rotor pitch in real-time to counteract the gun’s kick.
This collaboration represents a shift in military doctrine. Traditionally, small units had to call in expensive jets or vulnerable helicopters for air support. The Aerotor/SIG Sauer/IAI partnership puts that same lethality directly into the hands of ground commanders.
By combining long-endurance fuel propulsion with battle-proven small arms, the Fire Storm 250 provides a level of persistent lethality that battery-powered drones simply cannot match.

GA-ASI ACHIEVES NEW MILESTONE WITH SEMI-AUTONOMOUS CCA FLIGHT
YFQ-42A Uncrewed Fighter Jet Executes Mission Autonomy Test
SAN DIEGO – 12 February 2026 – General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) passed a new milestone this month, successfully integrating 3rd-party mission autonomy into the YFQ-42A Collaborative Combat Aircraft to conduct its first semi-autonomous airborne mission.
For this test, GA-ASI used mission autonomy software supplied by Collins Aerospace, an RTX business, to fly the new YFQ-42A CCA, designed and developed by GA-ASI for the U.S. Air Force. The Sidekick Collaborative Mission Autonomy software was seamlessly integrated with the YFQ-42A’s flight control system, utilizing the Autonomy Government Reference Architecture (A-GRA). The integration enabled robust and reliable data exchange between the autonomy software and the aircraft’s mission systems, ensuring precise execution of mission autonomy commands.
During the recent testing, autonomy mode was activated via the Ground Station Console (GSC). Once enabled, a human autonomy operator on the ground transmitted various commands directly to the YFQ-42A, which executed the instructions with high accuracy for more than four hours. This test highlights the effectiveness of Sidekick’s advanced mission autonomy capabilities and the flexibility of the A-GRA standard in supporting complex operational requirements.
“We are excited to collaborate with Collins to deliver enhanced autonomous mission solutions,” said David R. Alexander, president of GA-ASI. “The integration of Sidekick with our YFQ-42A demonstrates our commitment to innovation and operational excellence in unmanned aircraft technology.”
This achievement underscores GA-ASI’s dedication to advancing autonomous systems for defense applications. The combination of Sidekick autonomy software and YFQ-42A mission systems, connected through A-GRA, sets new benchmarks for combat autonomy, mission flexibility, operator control, and system reliability.
“The autonomy capabilities showcased in this flight highlight our dedicated investment to advance collaborative mission autonomy,” said Ryan Bunge, vice president and general manager for Strategic Defense Solutions, Collins Aerospace, an RTX business. “The rapid integration of Sidekick onto this General Atomics platform and its immediate ability to support a broad spectrum of combat-relevant behaviors underscores the strength and flexibility of our open systems approach.”
This first mission autonomy flight continues a robust YFQ-42A development schedule for GA-ASI that began in August 2025 with initial flights of YFQ-42A Tail One. In less than six months, GA-ASI has built and flown multiple YFQ-42A aircraft, including push-button autonomous takeoffs and landings.
GA-ASI has been building and flying uncrewed jets for nearly two decades, beginning with the company-funded, weaponized MQ-20 Avenger® in 2008. Ongoing company investment in Avenger continues to yield results, as the aircraft routinely serves as a CCA surrogate for advanced autonomy development and testing in both government programs and company-funded research and development.
As a family-owned, privately held defense company for more than 30 years, GA-ASI is known as one of the original disruptors in the U.S defense industry, pioneering and inventing many of the technologies now considered ubiquitous in uncrewed aircraft operations around the world. The company re-invests more than 35 percent of annual revenue into internal research and design projects, building ahead of need and designing capabilities ahead of requirements.
In 2025, for example, an internally funded Avenger demo featured both GA-ASI’s TacACE autonomy software and Shield AI’s Hivemind software on the same flight, with the MQ-20 seamlessly switching between AI pilots while still airborne. Later in the year, GA-ASI teamed with Lockheed Martin and L3 Harris for another Avenger flight demo, connecting the MQ-20 with an F-22 Raptor for an advanced manned-unmanned teaming mission that allowed the human fighter pilot to command the Avenger as an autonomous CCA surrogate via tablet control from the cockpit.
In 2024, GA-ASI first flew its XQ-67A Off-Board Sensing Station (OBSS) jet, developed in collaboration with Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL). This early CCA prototype validated the “genus/species” concept pioneered with AFRL as part of the Low-Cost Attritable Aircraft Platform Sharing (LCAAPS) program, focused on building several aircraft variants from a common core chassis.
GA-ASI’s Gambit Series envisions multiple missionized variants from this common core concept, with XQ-67A already showcasing airborne sensing and YFQ-42A illustrating air-to-air combat. Using this novel manufacturing approach to drive overall customer value, GA-ASI can quickly pivot to diverse missions with less time and cost investment than building a clean-sheet aircraft.
About GA-ASI
General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc., is the world’s foremost builder of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS). Logging more than 9 million flight hours, the Predator® line of UAS has flown for over 30 years and includes MQ-9A Reaper®, MQ-1C Gray Eagle®, MQ-20 Avenger®, and MQ-9B SkyGuardian®/SeaGuardian®. NSSF Salutes South Dakota’s Gov. Larry Rhoden for Signing Suppressor Law

WASHINGTON, D.C. — NSSF®, the Firearm Industry Trade Association, salutes South Dakota’s Gov. Larry Rhoden for promptly following through on his promise to sign into law Senate Bill 2, which deregulated suppressors, or silencers, in the state after the legislation was unanimously approved by the legislature just two weeks ago. Gov. Rhoden signed the law at Sioux Falls-based Silencer Central, with NSSF Board of Governors member and Silencer Central Founder and CEO Brandon Maddox, along with NSSF’s Moriah Day, Director of Government Relations – State Affairs, in attendance.
“This is what proactive and commonsense leadership looks like. South Dakota is taking the steps to ensure that its citizens can lawfully obtain, possess and use a hearing protection device should we ever get to a point that they are removed from the National Firearms Act (NFA),” said Lawrence G. Keane, NSSF’s Senior Vice President & General Counsel. “Suppressors are hearing safety devices that make recreational shooting and hunting a safer and more enjoyable activity. We will continue to press to have these devices removed from the NFA so that they are more accessible to the public.”
“South Dakota is the most Second Amendment-friendly state in America, and this is yet another opportunity for us to pave the way and set an example for the rest of the nation,” said Gov. Rhoden in a press release. “By removing unnecessary state-level restrictions, we are standing up for freedom and protecting the constitutional right of law-abiding citizens.”
Senate Bill 2 removed suppressors from the state’s definition of a “controlled weapon” and eliminated the statutory requirement that possession of these devices requires a federal tax stamp. That tax requirement, which was reduced to a $0 fee under the One Big Beautiful Bill, must still be obtained as required by the NFA. The new law fixes that requirement to ensure citizens can continue to obtain and possess suppressors should Congress pass the NSSF-supported Hearing Protection Act to remove the duplicitous background check, registration and tax stamp requirement for these safety devices.
Gov. Rhoden attended NSSF’s 5th Annual Governors’ Forum at SHOT Show 2026® and spoke of Maddox’s Silencer Central as an example of the growing firearm and ammunition industry in his state. In particular, he pointed to Senate Bill 2 as a demonstration of the state’s legislature and his administration’s commitment to supporting Second Amendment rights and the industry that makes those rights possible.
Gov. Rhoden explained the importance of both to NSSF in a recent profile.
“South Dakota is the most Second Amendment-friendly state in the nation,” he explained. “We will keep it that way by cutting red tape and making sure companies know that we are Open for Opportunity.”
