Independent field testers scored the modular trauma pack 4.43 out of 5, praising its rugged build and mission-specific configurability for tactical medic response.

Knoxville, Tenn. (July 2026) – Tasmanian Tiger®, a tactical nylon line of products distributed exclusively for the US market by Proforce Equipment, Inc., announced today that its TT Modular Medic Combat Pack 18 has been tested and recommended by the National Tactical Officers Association (NTOA) Member Tested and Recommended Program (MTRP), earning an overall score of 4.43 out of 5, placing it in the program’s Silver tier. Four NTOA-affiliated field testers, including active-duty law enforcement personnel from Vermont, Nebraska, California, and New Jersey, evaluated the 18-liter pack across categories including design, durability, storage, versatility, and ease of use.

“I love this bag. It arrived, and I thought it was going to be too small for my equipment, but to my surprise it fit everything I wanted to put in it,” wrote the California-based tester, who gave the pack an individual score of 4.53. “I have thrown this around on search warrants, it has fallen out of my vehicle, and it has held up great so far. I highly recommend this medical pack.”

A Nebraska-based tester, who scored the pack 4.4, pointed to its build quality and adaptability across roles. “The overall construction and quality are very high. The materials are rugged, thick, and durable to withstand abuse in the field. [The pack] is recommended for any SWAT Medic or operator that carries specialized equipment in the field, is looking for a high-quality and durable pack for use in the field, and is looking for an extremely modular, user-specific layout tailored to them.”

The TT Modular Medic Combat Pack 18 is an 18-liter tactical emergency medic backpack built from Cordura® fabric with YKK zippers and Woojin plastic hardware. A circumferential zipper opens the main compartment to the side, and robust carry handles on three sides support rapid extraction and multi-directional deployment. Inside, two removable panels of lightweight, sturdy Tegris® material with fastening accessories organize the main compartment, alongside a removable pouch with a transparent lid, a long color-coded zippered pouch, a removable IV bag pouch, and an insert pocket for patient assessment cards.

MOLLE hook-and-loop surfaces on the interior allow for near-limitless modularity, while three front pockets, each with distinct internal compartments, feature exterior hook-and-loop surfaces for labeling with hook-and-loop strips or snap-light inserts. A compression sleeve attached to the bottom of the pack accommodates a rescue sling (sold separately). Removable, air-mesh-padded shoulder straps allow the pack to convert for use with a plate carrier, and laser-cut mounting points on each side carry up to four tourniquets.

A tester from New Jersey, who scored the pack 4.46, highlighted its construction and adaptability. “I found the bag extremely versatile and comfortable to carry. Overall, I would absolutely recommend this bag.”

The TT Modular Medic Combat Pack weighs 4.25 lbs./1.93kg and measures 18 x 10 x 6.7 in. / 45.75 x 25.4 x 17 cm. It is available in red, black, olive, and coyote for an MSRP of $419. Multicam is available at an MSRP of $499.

Under NTOA’s MTRP rating scale, products scoring 3.00-3.99 receive the standard MTRP logo, 4.00-4.49 receive the Silver logo, and 4.50-5.00 receive the Gold logo.

The More Like Wynne Foundation Invests in Richardson ISD Students Through Gift to Outdoors Tomorrow Foundation

San Antonio, TX (July, 2026) Richardson Independent School District (ISD) students will soon have new opportunities to learn about conservation, wildlife management, hunting, fishing, shooting sports, and outdoor recreation through the Outdoors Tomorrow Foundation’s Outdoor Adventures curriculum, made possible by a gift from The More Like Wynne Foundation.

The donation will be presented on August 5th at Moss Haven Elementary and will support the expansion of Outdoor Adventures, a nationally recognized curriculum that brings outdoor education into the classroom. The program combines classroom instruction with practical outdoor knowledge, giving students a foundation in conservation, outdoor ethics, and responsible stewardship of natural resources.

The More Like Wynne Foundation was established to honor Wynne Naylor’s passion for community, conservation, and faith by creating opportunities that positively impact future generations. Supporting the Outdoors Tomorrow Foundation reflects the Foundation’s commitment to helping young people discover the outdoors while learning the importance of protecting the resources that make those experiences possible.

The gift will help Richardson ISD continue providing students with educational experiences that extend beyond traditional classroom learning. Through Outdoor Adventures, students gain exposure to conservation, wildlife management, hunting, fishing, shooting sports and various outdoor recreation activities while building confidence, responsibility, and leadership skills.

The Outdoors Tomorrow Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to outdoor education through its Outdoor Adventures curriculum, which is taught in schools across the country. The program equips students with the knowledge and skills to safely participate in hunting, fishing, archery, shooting sports, wildlife management, and other outdoor activities while reinforcing the principles of conservation and responsible stewardship.

Ready for Deer Season? Barnett’s pre-season tips to keep crossbows and gear dialed in.

Tarpon Springs, FL (July 28th, 2026) – The anticipation of deer season is hard to beat. Instead of counting down the days, put that excitement to good use. Success often comes down to preparation rather than luck. Before opening day, spend the time making sure both your crossbow, gear and shooting skills are ready.

Inspect Your Crossbow – Look for worn or frayed strings, damaged cables, loose scope mounts and stock screws, and cracks or other damage on the limbs and riser. If something doesn’t look right, have it repaired before the season rather than hoping it lasts one more hunt.

Don’t Store It Cocked – Modern crossbows are built to stay cocked during a hunt, but leaving one cocked for extended periods puts unnecessary stress on the limbs, string and cables. Before heading home safely de-cock the crossbow.

Check Every Arrow – Arrows deserve as much attention as the crossbow. Inspect every shaft for cracks, loose inserts, damaged vanes and cracked nocks. Roll them on a flat surface to check for bends and discard anything questionable. A damaged arrow isn’t worth the risk.

Practice Like You Hunt – Benches are great for sighting in, but deer rarely cooperate by standing in front of one. Practice from the positions you’ll actually use—kneeling, sitting, standing, from a tree stand or inside a ground blind. Wear your hunting jacket and gloves to make sure nothing interferes with your shooting. Life-sized deer targets reinforce distance estimation and realistic shot placement.

Know Your Distances – Practice estimating distances before confirming them with a rangefinder. Learning what 20, 30 and 40 yards actually look like makes distance estimation second nature and speeds up decision-making when a deer appears unexpectedly.

Pack Before Opening Day – Extra arrows, a rangefinder, Allen keys, a broadhead wrench, string wax and a first-aid kit don’t take up much room but can save a hunt when something goes wrong.

Cock Your Crossbow the Same Way Every Time – Whether you’re using a rope cocker or a crank, make sure the string is centered evenly before every shot. An unevenly cocked string can shift your point of impact, even if the crossbow was perfectly sighted in the last time you shot it. It’s one of the easiest accuracy problems to prevent.

Preparation builds confidence. When your equipment has been checked, your crossbow is shooting how it should, and your gear is packed, you can focus on making an ethical shot instead of worrying about your equipment.

NSSF-Opposed Oregon Anti-Hunting Ballot Initiative Fails

WASHINGTON, D.C. — An Oregon anti-hunting ballot initiative opposed by NSSF^®, The Firearm Industry Trade Association, failed to gather enough certified signatures to be considered by voters. Oregon’s Initiative Petition 28 (IP 28), called the “People for the Elimination of Animal Cruelty Exemptions (PEACE) Act,” was proposed to prohibit and criminalize hunting, trapping and livestock production.

The proposed ballot initiative was disqualified by the Oregon Secretary of State’s Elections Division for consideration by voters on Nov. 3, 2026, after it gathered just 104,262 valid signatures, well below the threshold requirement of 117,173 required signatures.

“This radical anti-hunting plan was clearly, and correctly, rejected by Oregonians who wanted no part of this attack on the heritage of outdoorsmanship and proven conservation efforts that managed hunting requires,” said Lawrence G. Keane, NSSF Senior Vice President & General Counsel. “The proposal would have, without question, destroyed Oregon’s rural communities, outdoor economy and abundant wildlife. Hunters are the original wildlife conservationists and are crucial to sustained propagation of managed wildlife for future generations. Oregonians are correct to reject this short-sighted and politically-driven agenda that would have annihilated over a century’s work to restore wildlife across Oregon’s landscape.”

NSSF vocally opposed IP 28, which was pitched to voters as a measure to strengthen state animal cruelty laws. However, Oregon already punishes animal cruelty. IP 28 would have removed legal protections for regulated hunting, fishing, ranching and other lawful activities that are critical for wildlife management, culturally rooted and economically important across the state.

Further, IP 28 would have threatened the funding structure that supports wild game and nongame species alike. In fact, 85 percent of Oregon’s wildlife money comes from the combination of excise taxes paid by firearm and ammunition manufacturers and hunting license, permit and stamp fees. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) apportioned $1.3 billion to state wildlife agencies last year. Over $804 million of that is sourced directly from the Pittman-Robertson excise tax paid by firearm and ammunition manufacturers. Oregon received over $9.7 million from that apportionment.

The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW) reports that hunting, fishing and wildlife watching accounted for $1.2 billion in spending in 2019, or $1.47 billion when adjusted for inflation. Oregon’s outdoor recreation economy generated $9 billion in economic impact in 2024, supporting more than 76,000 jobs and accounts for 2.7 percent of state gross domestic product.

Tasmanian Tiger®’s TT Breacher Pack Earns Silver Rating in NTOA’s Member Tested and Recommended Program

Purpose-built breaching pack scores 4.26 out of 5 in real-world evaluations by law enforcement tactical teams.

Knoxville, Tenn. (July 2026) – Tasmanian Tiger®, a tactical nylon line of products distributed exclusively for the US market by Proforce Equipment, Inc., announced today that its TT Breacher Pack has been tested and recommended by the National Tactical Officers Association (NTOA) Member Tested and Recommended Program (MTRP), earning an overall score of 4.26 out of 5, placing it in the program’s Silver tier.

The TT Breacher Pack was tested by four NTOA members, including tactical operators specializing in breaching and less-lethal roles, who evaluated the pack across categories including design, durability, storage, versatility, and ease of use. Testers carried the pack during live training and operational deployments, assessing its ability to organize and secure breaching tools such as bolt cutters, sledges, hooligan tools, and detonation components.

“It exceeded our expectations and is a reliable, mission-ready option that we would confidently recommend for tactical breaching operations,” said one tester, a police officer from Pennsylvania who evaluated the pack over nearly two months of SWAT team training and operations. “We have been looking for a solution for our explosive breachers to be able to comfortably carry pre-made charges during certain deployments, and this has been just what we were looking for.”

A tester from Louisiana who used the pack in both breacher and less-lethal roles noted its “excellent durability, comfortable carry system, [and] outstanding modularity.” He continued, “Overall, I am very pleased with the TT Breacher Pack. It offers excellent durability, a comfortable carry system, outstanding modularity, and sufficient capacity for most breaching operations. I would confidently recommend this backpack to breachers or other tactical operators who are looking for a compact, durable, and highly adaptable pack capable of supporting the majority of breaching mission requirements.”

The tester from New York, who scored the pack 4.66 individually, called it “very well thought out, well-constructed” and suited to agencies needing a compact, dedicated tactical breaching solution.

Built on Tasmanian Tiger’s 700-denier CORDURA® construction (500-denier in Multicam), the TT Breacher Pack is purpose-built to carry breaching tools securely and access them fast. Two removable tool compartments organize and separate the gear, while an extendable design accommodates long bolt cutters. Removable padded shoulder straps, side compression straps, and internal mesh pockets round out a system designed to move with the operator, not against them.

The TT Breacher Pack weighs 3.4 lbs./54 oz. and measures 23 x 10.75 x 7 in. / 58 x 27 x 18 cm. It is available in black, olive, and coyote for an MSRP of $359. Multicam is available at an MSRP of $439.
