Upcoming Review: CSE Gear Low Profile Plate Carrier Kit

DSCN0168_edited.jpg

CSE Gear is marketing a Low Profile Plate Carrier Kit that consists of a very nice slick with the super light-weight DKX IIIA plates. The Kit is, by a significant margin, the lightest IIIA ballistic protection I’ve used, and I normally use soft armor. The package ships with a shooter’s cut DKX IIIA plate in the front and a square cut IIIA in the back; however, you can have it configured in any way desired.

This is possibly the best Level IIIA protection available and I’ll be reviewing it for our readers in the coming weeks.

Thomas R. Bender–Custom Knife Maker

Tom Bender

Thomas R. Bender lives in Van Nuys, CA and has a passion for weapons of any kind. If you’ve been to an action movie, it’s quite likely he had something to do with the weapons and explosions. I had an opportunity to spend time chatting with Tom and walked away amazed at how down to earth and amiable he is. So, I wanted to share his knife making passion with you and let you know that he is open for business, but there is a line and his customers can be described as privileged, I’ll leave it at that.

Applied Ballistics Announces The Kestrel Companion Mobile App

Applied Ballistics, LLC announced, through their existing partnership with Nielsen-Kellerman (NK), the release of the Kestrel Companion; an Android mobile application to complement the Kestrel Shooter’s Weather Meter with Applied Ballistics for remote viewing of shooting solutions.

The Kestrel Companion app., developed by Applied Ballistics’ partner company nVisti, allows shooters to mount their Kestrel Shooter’s Weather Meter with Applied Ballistics onto a rotating vane mount, update the range to target, and view the solution right on their mobile device – all without touching the Kestrel device itself.

With the updated Kestrel Shooter’s Weather Meter with Applied Ballistics firmware version 4.83, the company’s developers added remote-control capability over the Bluetooth link; allowing for the range-to-target to be entered into the Kestrel Companion app and sent directly to the Kestrel device.   The Kestrel Shooter’s Weather Meter instantly computes the shooting solution and sends it back to the Kestrel Companion app – displaying it for easy viewing.

Kestrel Companion sells for $4.99 and is available for immediate download.

FLIR’s Commercial Grade SCOUT Thermal Imagers

Thermal imaging is a technology where informed buyers make better decisions so this article is intended to provide you with a basic foundation of thermal imaging and introduce you to 2 variants of FLIR’s outstanding commercial imagers, the PS24 and PS32. So, lets rough it out together.

When discussing thermal imaging you’ll hear references made to wave length. As average users, we probably don’t understand  what wave length is and how it relates to anything tangible. So,  let’s gain a foundation so you approach your purchase decision better informed.

wavelengthWavelength refers to the distance between the peak of one wave to the next. When we say that something has a longer or shorter wavelength we are saying that the distance between electromagnetic wave peaks is either longer or shorter, and it’s expressed in meters.

Frequency refers to the number of cycles occurring within a specified period of time; expressed in cycles per second. You’ll often see this symbol  used (Hz) or Hertz to express frequency. A cycle is represented in my figure by points AB. The higher the frequency the more cycles occur in a 1 second slot. So, a 1 MHz (pronounced mega hertz) signal  represents 1 million cycles per second, and a 1 KHz (pronounced kilo hertz) signal represents one thousand cycles per second. Which do you think has the longer wave length?Wavelength relates to frequency in that an emission with a longer wavelength will have a lower frequency than one with a shorter wavelength.

When you add energy to molecules they vibrate at a higher rate, or frequency, so by default those emissions will have a shorter wave length. When the molecule is cooled, they vibrate at a lower rate (frequency), so their emissions will have a longer wavelength. This is how thermal imaging works.

In thermal imaging we don’t detect temperatures, we detect the electromagnetic emissions associated with molecular activity and from those emissions we infer temperature relationships that we translate into contrasts. An old friend, now deceased, Chief Petty Officer, would have expressed it like this, “a man that eats pussy is a cock sucker by default” – an inference no one in my group agreed with – ; however, thermal imagers detect electro magnetic energy and internally translate it to varying levels of contrast to form an image, within a given band. My next to last sentence in this paragraph has one hugely important modifying clause and that is – “within a given band”

If you need imaging that is going to give you superior detail and range you look for equipment using sensors with a  larger frame size; in other words a greater pixel count. The higher the pixel count the greater detail and greater range, with costs rising proportionally. If your requirements are less demanding, a lower pixel count will give you slightly lower resolution and subsequent lower range at a correspondingly  lower price.

infrared_basics_figure2_large

The figure above does an excellent job of pictorially representing what I verbalized earlier. Note that as temperature increases wave length decreases. So, taking a look at the graphic, if you were designing a thermal imager to detect game, personnel and material would you have it operate in the short wave, medium wave or long wave band? Clearly the long wave end of the spectrum. Why?  – because that’s where the relevant temperature ranges are.

Another conclusion that you can reach from simple examination of the graphic is that each of the three bands are in their own right a broad space. So as a designer you would pick a subset of that band to design for. Something resulting in a good performance to cost ratio. In FLIR’s case their SCOUT PS handheld imager, operates in the 7.5 – 13.5 µm (pronounce micron, or you can get away with micrometer) region of the long wave. Note, this is only a 6µm band, which makes sense because we are detecting targets who themselves have a “relatively” small temperature differentials.

What makes thermal imaging such a powerful tool is that unlike Image Intensified technologies, thermal does not require light nor is it adversely impacted by light. If you’ve ever walked into an illuminated space wearing NVDs you’ve experienced “white outs”. All things, living or not, have an electromagnetic signature that can be measured, and a thermal imager will reveal a target where a night vision device will not. Can thermal imaging be defeated? Yes and countermeasure designers focus on altering the emissivity of the target, usually with coatings or covers, but it won’t be long before we actually see active thermal countermeasure. Nature has its own countermeasure in the form of dense fog and heavy rainfall.

So, keep in mind that night vision relies on light being reflected from the subject; for example, star light, moon light and ambient light. A night vision device amplifies, many times over, reflected light so we can see the subject and its surroundings in what would otherwise be darkness. In the absence of ambient light or where ambient light is very limited such as indoors, or a cave, we must use illuminators. The illuminator is nothing more than a flashlight operating just outside of the visible light spectrum. Thermal imaging can be used in total darkness.

So let’s talk about FLIR’s commercial offerings, the PS Scout (PS24 and PS32)

Trainers Need To Teach Thought Processes Not Just Skills

One of the more significant challenges facing military and civilian trainers is inculcating, in a trainee, a thought process. The ability to apply a fact or skill learned to solve an unexpected  problem. As trainers, you cannot anticipate every possible scenario a student will encounter in the field. So, you need to develop the skill of thinking. I’ll give you a very simple example to support my point.

In the HVAC business, a rule of thumb for cooling a space is that you need 12,000 BTUs to cool a space of 500 square feet. Other factors come into play, like heat loads, but I’ll set that aside in the interest of simplicity. So, it’s a very simple ratio that can be expresses as 12,000:500  or 12,000 / 500. As trainers, we introduce this relationship to our trainee. To apply it, you present the trainee with a question. How many BTUs do I need to cool 375 square feet?  This is how you would structure the problem for them.

12,000/500 = x/375 , “x” is the number of BTUs needed, or the unknown value.

The trainee is taught to cross-multiply so you end up with 500x = (12000 x 375) which can be further simplified to 500x=4500000. To solve for “x”, you divide both sides of the equation by 500 so that x = 4500000/500. Now, perform the math and you get 9,000. So, the answer is that It takes 9,000 BTUs to cool a 375 square foot space. Not a lot of mental gymnastics involved.

Now, let’s change the problem. Ask the trainee, how many square feet can you cool with a 6,000 BTU a.c. unit that’s sitting in their shop. This is where you get a cerebral shutdown. The first words out of your trainee’s mouth is, “we didn’t cover that.” What you didn’t do is teach your trainee to think. Thinking, in spite of what you may believe, can be and should be taught. You need to teach trainees how to think. Answering the question is no different than the original problem

12,000/500 = 6,000/x the only thing the trainee needed to do is assign “x” to the unknown, which in this case is square feet.  Lets cross multiply again and this time we get

12000x = 3000000. We solve for “x” as we did before x = 3000000/12000; therefore, x = 250 square feet.

In the tactical and military disciplines, trainers with exception of guys like Larry Vickers and Pat Rogers, are teaching skills sets. I’m not trivializing the importance of skill sets, but your trainee is memorizing a skill set and fails to learn to apply them successfully when the operational fabric changes even slightly. Trainers, and your organizations, need to pay attention to the thought process – the how and why we employ skills to solve problems – in developing your training product.

Kiku Matsuda is a master blade smith with an extraordinary list of fabulous creations. All of his knives are deeply rooted in the Japanese tradition but each possess its own unique character. For example, the SHU-FU which is a formidable knife and a work of art combined. Kiku Knives are simply extraordinary custom knives. SOG Knives and Tool has recently announced the first production run of a Kiku design.

The Kiku Fixed Series, shown in my picture above, is a rugged and elegant fixed blade, available in either a 4.9-inch or 5.6-inch straight edged clip point. The knife is made from  AUS-8 stainless steel blade in satin polished or black TiNi finish.  The handle is linen micarta with full tang construction and includes a Kydex sheath with a removable belt clip.  The overall lengths are 9.76-inches with a weight of 8.5-ounces (for the Small Fixed Kiku) or 11.2-inches and weighs 11.2-ounces (for the Large Fixed Kiku).

The Kiku Folder Series is offered in a 3.5-inch or 4.6-inch straight edged clip point AUS-8 stainless steel blade in a variety of finishes.  The handle is a linen micarta with a liner lock construction and a low-carry pocket clip for easy concealment.  The small folder is 7.9-inches in overall length with a weight of 4.2 ounces, and the large folder is 9.4 inches and a weight of 7 ounces. Up to this point, Matsuda San has focused his considerable talents on fixed blade knives solely, so this is a special offering indeed.

Kiku knives are known as some of the sharpest in the world.  The blade durability, edge sharpness and longer edge retention is attributable and his special Hamaguri-Ba (Japanese Convex edge famous for Katana) grinding. Elbit Systems Adds New Capabilities To Its Line Of Long-Range Observation, Target Acquisition and Laser Designation Systems

8fe3e7a5

I’ve been following Elbit Systems for a few years now and in that time, I’ve seen continuous innovation and refinement to a product line that ranks as one of the best in the world. At this year’s EUROSATORY, in Paris, Elbit Systems announced the launch of its new, highly advanced Long View CR-D (LVCR-D).

The new LVCR-D is based around the tried and true LVCR, a highly advanced and effective system with a unique ability to acquire long-range targets or to observe small targets, such as enemy fighters, in high resolution under severe visual conditions day or night. It combines a very long-range continuous optical zoom FLIR, long-range day cameras, integral eye- safe laser range finder, GPS, magnetic compass and a built-in target data management, all-in-one compact configuration.

In the new LVCR-D, Elbit Systems added a diode-pumped laser designator, which minimizes the risks of collateral damage. The LVCR-D is ideal for optimal guidance of munitions. The new system incorporates automatic laser beam spillover detection and analysis, as well as a correction mechanism to avoid laser-spot spillover from the target, for both short and long ranges.

The LVCR-D is packaged for fixed or dismounted operations, yielding an advanced system with outstanding tactical capabilities and advantages.  Elbit’s LVCR-D is considered among the most-advanced long-range targeting acquisition systems available in the market.

ATF Requirements For Permanent Attachment of A Muzzle Device–A Public Service Post

 perm-vortex

I’m seeing all kinds of opinions on what it takes to permanently attach a muzzle device to a barrel. There are all kinds of theories floating around the internet, but the ATF is unambiguous and anything other than what is stipulated below is a foul.

Please note that Rocksett, Red Loctite, Gorilla Glue or JB Weld does not meet this criteria!

Permanent methods of attachment include full-fusion gas or electric steel-seam welding, high-temperature (1100°F) silver soldering, or blind pinning with the pin head welded over.

Russian Ka-52 Alligator Attack Helicopter

Russian Ka-52 Alligator

Characteristically Russian is the widespread use of coaxial counter rotating rotors to eliminate the stabilizing tail rotor. The Kamov Ka-52 replaces the obsolete Mi-24 Hind attack helicopters with a modern avionics and communications package that includes ISR capabilities as well as active and passive ECM. However, interestingly enough, it keeps the traditional design philosophy which is to sacrifice speed and weight reduction for the ability to take a hit and the option to carry large amounts of ordinance. The helicopter is equipped with an interesting crew ejection system, which when activated causes the rotors to detach from the rotor shaft ejecting the crew upwards.

CZ 805 BREN in either its A1 (14” barrel) or A2 (11” barrel ) configurations is an impressive rifle. The system has a monolithic rail with configurable side rails at the 3 o’clock, 6 o’clock and 9 o’clock position. Operating controls are fully ambidextrous and closely resemble the AR platform.  The BREN uses a gas piston operating system with operator adjustable gas settings. The rifle is specifically designed to switch between calibers, and even magazine systems easily. Removing the barrel/piston system involves 6 easily-accessible screws. Change the bolt-face and the rifle can shoot a range of different cartridges. The 5.56×45 and 7.62×39 are currently on contract but other calibers will probably follow. At the present time the CZ 805 BREN is only available in a selective fire configuration: single shot, 2 round burst and fully automatic.

As of this writing, there appears to be no “official” position on a BREN entry in the commercial market but we’ll have to wait for SHOT SHOW 2015 to refine that.

CZ small arms manufacturer CZ-805 Bren P-09 P-07 Eurosatory 2014 defense exhibition Paris France_0013

The CZ P-09, 19 +1,  9mm Parabellum introduced in 2013 is a polymer offering featuring CZ’s Omega DA/SA trigger.  It is available in three configuration; black frame with a threaded and extended barrel for suppressor use; Flat Dark Earth version with tritium night sights; and, the standard black polymer frame. The sights and sight radius of the P-09 make for very fast target acquisition. Very comfortable pistol with some very nice features like converting from a decocker to a manual safety. CZ introduced the CZ P-07  in 2014. It is essentially a compact version of the CZ P-09 that is also available in a .40 SW. Both the CZP-07 and P-09 are outstanding pistols and have received excellent reviews in the tactical media.

Reader Question: Photo Intelligence

Droppings

At the height of the Ukraine crisis, the New York times published pictures allegedly obtained from the Ukrainian authorities linking specific individuals to the Russian Army. I believe the statement made by the Times is that the pictures in question were proof positive that Russian special forces were active in Eastern Ukraine. In a post on this Blog,  I suggested that the proportions in those pictures were somewhat questionable. I also talked a little about photo intelligence.

It prompted a couple of reader questions. One reader wanted to know more about photo intelligence and how to get into that sort of work.

To begin, all of the component members in the U.S. military have intelligence ratings, and they require a considerable amount of training. The intelligence agencies are equally involved in photo analysis with comparable training requirements.

So what’s intelligence? Intelligence is the art / process of collecting data and conducting analysis to accumulate details about a situation, group or person. It is quite often of a predictive nature but more often tactical. Each detail represents a point, which when combined with all other points tells a story. Quite often, the most innocuous detail may very well be the one thing that connects all of the dots. Intelligence gathering and analysis is a systematic and tedious process of accumulating data; often taking years of work.

To illustrate the concept take a look at the picture above. Refrain from laughing because it’s less ridiculous than you may think. The picture is one of bird droppings on a concrete slab. What does it tell us (You’ll probably need to zoom in on the photo)?

  1. An analyst would say that although its is possible that only one bird was involved, there is a higher probability that multiple birds were involved.
  2. Note the presence of a shadow suggesting the existence of a structure. The structure is high enough to cast a shadow. By knowing the time of day the picture was taken it gives us an approximation of the sun’s position in the sky and from that we can estimate the height of the structure.
  3. Further note that the droppings tend to move in towards the structure. This suggests either the bird’s flight path but more likely that the bird was standing on some sort of aerial utility wire connecting to the structure.

All of these assumptions have probabilities of being correct but some have a higher probability than others. These are the thought processes that take place during photo analysis. You may have a satellite picture that shows combatant units, or the photo under analysis may reveal more subtle clues.

The end result is to take all of these discrete points, another way of saying data, and not simply connecting them but correlating them to arrive at a reasonably accurate intelligence assessment. When we say correlate we mean develop a degree of confidence that the individual data points are closely related.

Shane: here’s how an intelligence picture evolves from  this photo. Let’s assume that the picture was pulled from a smartphone during a raid. Other than the fact that it was on the phone, we know nothing about where the picture was taken, but the location may be linked to activities of interest to you, there are no other geo-references etc.

From the time of day the picture was taken, you know the relative position of the sun. In this case it was later in the afternoon so the sun was on its western arc; therefore the picture represents the east side of the structure. Next you have the theory that the birds were sitting on a utility cable or wire. Those normally run from a pole on a street to the structure. You also know that the house is in an older neighborhood. In developed countries modern housing developments have underground utilities. If you are in an underdeveloped nation, the presence of any utility service may be an indication of affluence.

So just from that snap shot, you can begin putting together a picture that’s very useful. When you combine the photo with ELINT intercepts and a variety of other sources you get intelligence that allows you to develop plans for a raid or support more direct surveillance of the location. It takes time and training. But if it’s the type of work that you want to do, I can think of nothing more interesting and rewarding. You’ll be working with teams and across many disciplines.

Good luck and keep in touch!

FAMAS Alive and Well In 2014

Upgraded FAMAS - FELIN Eurosatory 2014

Rumors about the demise of the venerable French FAMAS abound on the internet; however, at least with regards to the FELIN program, France’s FAMAS doesn’t appear to be going any time soon. Assuming the key drivers for deploying a bull-pup design are still valid, the French may very well be giving serious consideration to the Thales F90 and Israeli Tavor. This upgraded FAMAS G2 looks to have had improvements made to the grip and vertical fore-grip to mount FELIN controls.

Everybody Has An Opinion Or Theory On ISIS In Iraq, So Why Not Us.

ISIS

Everyone has a theory on what ISIS is doing, thinking etc. but no one really knows anything, and we’re feeling left out, so here’s what we think ISIS will do or should do. Regroup, picking up as much personnel and equipment as available. Launch a three pronged offensive against Syria, first cutting Syria in half to isolate government troops surrounding Aleppo. Once Syria has been cut in half, sweep south with a major offensive against Damascus concurrent with a third and final prong to relieve Aleppo.

Here’s what we think Washington should do. NOTHING! Just maintain overwatch on chemical and biological facilities.

EUROSATORY 2014 Comes To A Close

EUROSATORY is the largest military defense exhibition in the world. This year it was even larger with over 1500 exhibitors of which 70% are international firms. Every sector of the global defense industrial fabric is represented; attendees experienced everything from circuit board assemblies to some of the world largest land vehicles, and everything between. Tanks, helicopters, UAV, UGV were all gathered at Paris’ Parc de Exposition in the Vilapinte. The exposure to the worlds most advanced military technology alone is worth the trip, but the icing on the cake remains Paris, one of the world’s great cities.

Other than specific product knowledge gained during your visit, one important and at times not subtle detail a visitor takes away from this year’s exhibition, is that the global defense industry is feeling the effects of dwindling military budgets. In this environment, you can expect global competition for sales to heat up and US manufacturer’s are looking increasingly towards exports to meet revenue objectives. Countries, like Turkey and Russia, will increasingly become serious players in global defense exports. There is a silver lining in the dark cloud of budget constraints and that is innovation driven by a need to compete in the global defense market. You can look no further than the French Industrial sector, which accounts for over € 7 billion in exports, and growing. In this milieu, expect to see winners, losers and consolidations at an accelerated pace, but the name of the game will remain exports, exports and more exports.

For those who did not make it to Eurosatory 2014 this video clip will give you a glimpse of what was truly an exceptional event.

For the Kalashnikov fan, and I consider myself to be part of that group, Concern Kalashnikov’s exhibit was something to get moist over. Concern Kalashnikov, is part of the Rostec State Corporation, it was once know as Izhmash. Currently It is a well diversified firearms manufacturer who’s product lines include both military and commercial small arms as well as guided munitions. When the new firm was created, the Russian government folded Izhmash in with the Izhevsk Mechanical Factory. Future additions to the Concern Klashnikov family will include Molot, Koshkin KBAL and Progress NITI.

Order To Not Wear First Navy Jack Patch Is Reversed

First-Navy-Jack-600x395U.S. Navy SEAL teams wear a patch on the left shoulder of their blouse know as the First Navy Jack. Last November, Carl Higbie, a former Navy SEAL, reported that commanders told their units not to wear the patches because they looked similar to Tea Party patches. That order has now been rescinded and the Navy has continued to order the patches, which also serve to identify teammates under IR conditions.

Navy SEALs Order More ‘Don’t Tread on Me’ Patches

by Mike Hoffman on June 18, 2014 ·

The U.S. Navy is ordering more “Don’t Tread on Me” flag patches eight months after it was reported that Navy SEALs had stopped wearing them because the Tea Party used a similar flag.

The U.S. Naval Special Warfare Command ordered the patches in an official announcement posted June 3 that was first reported by Dan Lamothe with the Washington Post.

Known as the First Navy Jack, former Navy Secretary Gordon England authorized it in 2002 as the Navy’s official jack for the Global War on Terrorism. Sailors and SEALs have since often worn the symbol as a patch on their left shoulder when deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan.

Last  November, Carl Higbie, a former Navy SEAL, reported for the Daily Caller that SEAL commanders had told their units to stop wearing the Navy Jack patches because it looked similar to the flag that Tea Party leaders have adopted.

Navy officials denied the story to multiple news outlets and sailors have continued to wear the patch since.

Of course, the Tea Party most often uses the Gadsden flag, not the First Navy Jack. Both have the words “Don’t Tread on Me,” but one has stripes and the other is yellow. The Gadsden flag also features a coiled snake while the First Navy Jack’s snake is elongated.

The Gadsden flag was flown during the Revolutionary War and used at times by the Continental Marines.

Aimpoint Launches The Micro T-2 Sight

Micro T-2Aimpoint introduced its new Micro T-2 sight at Eurosatory 2014. The T-2 keeps the same compact form factor and mounting compatibility as the highly successful T-1 but that is where similarities end.

The most important development in this new sight is its enhanced optical performance. A newly designed front lens, incorporating what Aimpoint describes as an important breakthrough in reflective lens coatings, provides a noticeable increase in clarity and performance of the Micro T-2. This ensures that no matter what angle or conditions the moment presents, the user is able to get on target quickly and accurately.

The Micro T-2 can be mounted on nearly any individual weapon platform, and can be used with all
existing mounts that fit the Micro T-1. This sight is compatible with all generations of night vision
devices. The Micro T2 can be used with Aimpoints’ accessories including the 3X Magnifier, and Concealed Engagement Unit (CEU). The Micro T-2 can operate for up to five years of constant-on use, using just one CR-2032 battery, and is waterproof to 25 meters.

The Aimpoint Micro T-2 does not replace the Micro T-1 and is due to begin shipping September of 2014. M.S.R.P. has not been announced.

Beretta’s i-Protect System

i-Protect represents a state of the art digitization of the operator, his or her weapon system and geo referenced information to provide a more complete command and control picture down to the individual level.

i-protect_beretta-n01

i-Protect requires the use of a weapon system infused with sensors and a rail mounted Bluetooth device that doubles as a weapon mounted light. Sensors in the weapon system sense a number of conditions such as hammer is cocked, round in the chamber, safety is on or off, remaining rounds and other conditions. All of these conditions as well as changes in conditions generate alarms, which are then transmitted via Bluetooth to a smart device. None of the sensors, interfere with the operation of the firearm, they simply sense a condition and create an alarm. The App running on the smart device then transmits those alarms to command and control centers over 3G or 4G networks.

To be fully functional, the operator is also required to wear a shirt with several sensors sewn into the fabric. They monitor heart rate, body temperature, breathing as well as body position. This data is also transmitted to the smart device via Bluetooth.

By knowing the operators condition and the condition of his or her weapon system command and control centers, using specialized software, can better assess the situation and respond to operator needs in near real-time. The system is futuristic, but it has enormous potential in delivering timely analysis and support to law enforcement were complex scenarios like foot pursuit, officer down, weapon drawn or any number of situations where officers are potentially at risk and require help.

i-Protect was first introduced at Milipol 2013 and is currently in use with Italian Police.

Rippel Effect Systems AK-47 Upgrade Kit and UBL40 Grenade Launcher

Rippel Effect Systems is a South African OEM that’s been around for quite sometime, since 1995. The company develops grenade launchers, sights and an amazing upgrade kit for the Avtomat Kalashnikova. The upgrade kit can best be described as an exoskeleton for the AK-47 that allows the operator to mount a wide array of ancillary accessories. What’s most impressive about the Ripple’s upgrade kit is that it requires no modifications to the weapon and preserves the characteristic balance of the Kalashnikov platform. It even allows for mounting of an under-barrel grenade launcher. Unlike other rail system, Ripple Effect Systems will customize the kit to meet your AK requirements. Drop Fritz an e-mail.
