OUR MESSAGE TO THE NFL AND ITS PLAYERS

Image result for NFL

It’s Friday and time for our weekly shoot the shit. This is a time when we talk about anything that comes to mind. We allow you the reader to comment freely, whether you know anything about the subject or not. In fact, you can make any unsupported statement, use uncensored profanity, insult anyone you wish or change the subject altogether.

Our shoot the shit topic for this week will take the form of a comment to the NFL and its players.

I can’t think of a professional athlete who at some point in time, in some way or another, has not actively reached out to their communities. Be it charity or civic participation, they’ve made a positive contribution and it’s greatly appreciated, but when you’re making several million dollars per year people expect you to be a cut above the average bear. That means you need to be better informed.

A little over a year ago, Colin Kaepernick, of the San Francisco 49ners, came to the public eye when he began protesting, by not standing while the United States national anthem was being played before the start of a game. His motivation was what he viewed as the oppression of people of color in the United States. There is no doubt in my mind that Colin’s heart was pure, but as we all know the implementation is as important as the idea, and he definitely took the wrong approach. Colin, like many people, allowed himself to be influenced by a media who is unquestionably  the major catalyst for racial divisiveness in this country. Of the many talking points advanced by these organizations, to convince the African American community that the world is out to get them, is the allegation that more African Americans get arrested than whites. So, to give that idea credibility, you viewers are subjected to a 24×7 barrage of what amounts to be propaganda. It’s up to you to validate their presentations. So, what’s the truth? To address the myth, I encourage you to take a look at the FBI:UCR tables 43A (total arrests by race in 2015), 43B (arrests under the age of 18 by race) and 43C (arrests 18 and older by race).  In the interest of brevity, I’ll limit my analysis to table 43A and encourage you to become familiar with the others.

Table 43 A presents total arrests by race for 2015, which looks to be the most current data available from the FBI.  In 2015,  5,753,212 whites and 2,197,140 blacks were arrested.  As a percentage of population,  white arrests account for 2% of the white population while black arrests account for 5% of the African American population. Although prejudice still exists, the 3% difference between white and black arrests is not a result of racism, it is socio economic, broken homes, drug abuse, gang related activity, interrupted or incomplete education. So, I ask all of you NFL players to get off your knees, team up with the large number of serious and credible black reformers actively working in the African American Community to improve the lives of a group of people with enormous capability and talent.

That’s if you really want to make a difference, and by all means bring Colin with you all!

In closing, not standing for the national anthem or respecting the flag is not your answer. Whether you love the country or not, those two symbols of our democracy should never be disrespected. America and all those who served or died for its principles and promise aren’t your problem and don’t let anyone convince you otherwise. The solution is in your hands and kneeling won’t get it done. That’s our challenge to you.

  • On a lighter side, can anyone tell me why everything sold on the cable networks is $19.99. I don’t get it, so any input is appreciated.
  • Our last comment is about the ancestry products. DNA, can determine race, eye color, gender, propensity for a specific disease,  body form and relationship. DNA can accurately determine if you are related to someone else, but that relationship could have originated in Ireland and migrated to Uganda, are you part Irish or are you part Ugandan? Before you voluntarily send anyone your DNA to anyone,  be absolutely certain that access to it will not be sold. Here’s what I mean by that. Your DNA sample is used to create a computer file called a biometric template. That template becomes part of a database , which can then be queried to confirm identify. For example, your bank decides to use your DNA as a way of securing your account and authenticating your identity. In practice, they could launch a query against a non-bank biometric database (one of the ancestry sites for example) to see if your DNA exists, and if it does exist do the identities match.  So, be very careful with your biometric data.

It’s been great shooting the shit with you all. Have a great weekend be safe and spend some quality time with your buds and family. We also ask that you keep in mind the millions of people that are still trying to recover from the recent natural disasters.

Grey Ghost Precision Announces 6.5 Creedmoor to Catalog of Precision Rifles

Lakewood, WA – Grey Ghost Precision, leading manufacturers of accurate, reliable, and attainable weapon systems, is excited to announce a new caliber to their series of rifles— the increasingly popular 6.5mm Creedmoor, or to their family and friends, “The Grim.”

The Grim, as is the case with all the Grey Ghost Rifles, is built on the powerful Grey Ghost Precision 7075-T651 billet  – for both the upper and ambi-lower receiver set. After being cut, they are True Black Type III Mil Spec Hard Coat Anodized, with additional cerakoting options available.

The handguard is available in the KeyMod and the new M-LOK hand guard systems, a Magpul Gen3 PRS Stock and a Superlative Arms Adjustable Gas block.

The Grim comes with a CMC Curved or Flat Trigger, with the option to choose Geissele SSA-E with a $160.00 up-charge. The barrel is a 22” Proof Research Stainless barrel with a 1:8 twist.

“This particular caliber is the fastest growing caliber for tactical shooters, and is a great section for medium to long range (500 to 1,000 yds.) shooting,” stated Grey Ghost CEO, Casey Ingels. “Ballistically speaking, when compared to other rifles in the PRS circuit, like the .308, the 6.5 Creedmoor outperforms, with a noticeable reduction in recoil.”

Grey Ghost spends no time, wasted on production – partnering with only the best in the industry, to ensure that every product that goes out the door is worthy of it’s name. Maintaining that realm of excellence, the Grim was in production for nearly two years. What you get, is a competition-ready rifle, as soon as it comes out of the box.

“Originally developed to be based closely to that of our popular S-Heavy, the Grim needed some outside expertise in order to truly be perfect,” stated GGP Director of Business Development, Lindsey Lea.  “We sent the original design over to Jim Staley and the team at Deliberate Dynamics, who helped to spec everything (trigger, buffer, gas block) and ensure that everything ran as it should. Once we had the rifle dialed in, I got in touch with Scott Satterlee (as he’s pretty much a legend).  His initial response was “I LOVE IT”, but requested an upgraded PROOF barrel with an extended gas system. Adding that barrel alleviated any remaining minor issues we were having with the gun.”

The Grey Ghost Precision Grim is available now for order. Visit www.greyghostprecision.com for more details.

SIG SAUER ISSUES A RECALL NOTICE COVERING SOME OF ITS RIFLES

SIG SAUER, Inc. has determined that a limited number of rifles in the SIG716 DMR®, SIG516® Carbon Fiber and SIGM400® Predator models are subject to a Safety Warning and Recall Notice. Some models were built with a two-stage SIG SAUER trigger that may have an improperly heat-treated hammer. Over time, this could result in a trigger malfunction creating a significant safety hazard. SIG SAUER is issuing a mandatory recall to replace the hammer and trigger assembly in these specific rifles. This recall does not affect any military or law enforcement rifles or any SIG MCX®/SIG MPX® products.

SIG SAUER will correct any of the affected firearms at no cost to the customer.

The firearms affected by the recall can be identified by the presence of a SIG mark etched into the hammer. See image below.

Jake Hoback Knives and PROOF Research Team Up on Limited-Edition PROOF of Life Axe

Priest River, ID (September 2017) Jake Hoback Knives and PROOF Research are pleased to announce the release of a collaborative project, the limited edition PROOF of Life Axe.

Jake Hoback started making knives in 1990 in his backyard, pounding them out with a framing hammer and fence post nails. Since then the Idaho-based company has grown into an industry leader in the manufacture of premium knives and axes.

PROOF Research is a science-driven manufacturer of lightweight precision rifle systems, record-breaking steel barrels and carbon fiber-wrapped barrels. The company’s Advanced Composites Division develops next-generation materials to produce innovative weapon systems that lighten warfighter load while increasing durability and effectiveness.

“This was a unique collaboration,” stated Hoback, who describes his design as 1/3 tomahawk, 1/3 crash axe, and 1/3 ultra-light axe. “PROOF Research supplied the technology expertise and composite materials. Their design input was simple and concise: ‘In terms of fighting functionality, materials, and overall design – produce the highest-performance axe regardless of cost.’ Mission accomplished.”

The PROOF of Life axe is CNC-machined from solid S7 tool steel. Recesses and skeletonized cutouts reduce weight to a perfectly balanced 18 ounces, while internal structural webbing and radiused corners keep the design strong enough for heavy use. The head bevels feature scalloped channels to guide the axe into the target and to reduce the risk of glancing blows. Edge geometry was similarly well thought out, with the top of the edge bevel ground for hard chopping, and a shallower grind on the bottom edge for precise slicing and detail work.

The axe’s scales were created from aerospace-grade carbon fiber bound with high-temperature resin for maximum toughness. The fiber grain direction is also parallel to the handle for structural integrity and to reduce the transfer of impact harmonics to the hand.

“Our customers fit into one or both of two niches,” said Derek McDonald, Chief Marketing Officer for PROOF Research, “those whose profession requires the absolute highest performance, and those who demand the very best and are willing to make that investment. The PROOF of Life axe is a fit for both of those customers and also happens to be a very nice collectible for die-hard fans of both Jake Hoback Knives and PROOF Research.”

The limited edition PROOF of Life axe is available at www.jakehobackknives.com for $750.

Zenith Firearms Eliminates Product Lines to Support Roller-delayed Blowback-centric Business Model

ONGOING INVESTMENT IN ROLLER-DELAYED BLOWBACK FIREARMS AND ACCESSORIES MANUFACTURING CAPABILITY

Zenith FirearmsAfton, VA: Zenith Firearms has eliminated three product lines to make way for a heightened and exclusive focus on its signature roller-delayed blowback firearms. This move is the logical result of Zenith’s recent decision to change its business model from one in which it distributes a wide variety of firearm products, to one in which it intensively researches, develops, manufactures, and distributes only those firearms that comprise its signature line. Zenith sold all remaining inventory of its eliminated product lines, which include Tisas, Girsan, and Tedna, to Texas-based firearms wholesale liquidator CDNN Sports.

CEO Hanri Kaya commented on the new business model: “What we’re after is an undivided focus. That is critical if we are to develop the roller-delayed blowback platform to its greatest potential within the context of large-scale production and distribution.”

Zenith’s ongoing investment in a significant manufacturing capability began with its second quarter 2017 occupation of a brand new 84,000 square foot industrial facility, built specifically for firearms manufacturing. With progress currently underway to secure machinery and related assets, the Company’s customers, as well as current and prospective users of the roller-delayed blowback platform, can look forward to the following from Zenith in 2018:

  • Introduction of mid-life improvements to existing roller-delayed blowback models
  • Domestic manufacturing of new, hard-to-find, and 922(r)-relevant accessories
  • Greater consistency in meeting consumer demand
  • Service to an increasing number of law enforcement and government agencies

About Zenith Firearms: Zenith Firearms, Inc. is an Afton, VA-based, American family-owned company that works closely with MKE (Mechanical and Chemical Industry Corporation) of Turkey to bring the legendary reliability and design of roller-delayed blowback firearms to the U.S. market. Zenith is a BATFE-licensed manufacturer and importer of destructive devices (FFLs 10 and 11), and a DDTC licensed exporter and broker of defense articles.

WHERE DO I START?

Image result for where do i start? This is our first shoot the shit topic in three weeks but what a three weeks it has been! There are millions of people suffering in the States of Texas and Florida; you can expand that to Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Three massive hurricanes, none of which had anything to do with global warming, pounded two of our great states and U.S. Territories. Hurricane Harvey in Texas; Irma in Florida, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic and U.S. Virgin Islands. Hurricane Maria struck Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands and to a lesser extent Hurricane Jose. The icing on the cake came with the massive earthquake that struck Mexico City delivering tragic loss of life.To the Mexican people we say hermanos nosotros sufrimos juntos. Yet in the face of adversity, humanity stands strong, indomitable and determined. The challenges we face are many but our energy and talent is boundless.

In the face of great adversity,  we saw, and continue to see, extraordinary leadership surfacing, and we extend our thanks and appreciation to Texas Governor Greg Abbott and Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton , Florida Governor Rick Scott and Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi. Your tireless proactive work saved lives and there is no greater measure of achievement. You deserve special recognition, but no leader stands alone and our thanks extends to members of your disaster recovery teams and office staff. To all of you we say Thank You!

We are also extremely proud of our President, Donald J. Trump. His speech, delivered at the U.N., was frank, direct and long overdue. He called out perpetrators of tyranny, terrorism and oppression, and he encouraged the world’s states to respect and enforce their borders, govern in the interest of their people and work in harmony with all countries to improve all of our lives. It was a great moment in our country’s history, so it’s tragic to see miscreants like Stephen Colbert, who represent the very bowels of the entertainment community,  mock the President and his family. Candidly, he aught to be able to find someone from that very group to ridicule not the President of the United States or his family.

On a lighter side and consistent with the tone of our usual shoot the shit topics, have you guys seen American Assassin? If you are a Chinese closet commando you will love this movie!

American Assassin PosterIn this “counter terror” production,  actor Dylan O’Brien plays Mitch Rapp – on camera Dylan O’Brien looks like he weighs all of 90 lbs. and it’s quite likely that, in real life, the only fight he’s been in was at a tofu bar in Santa Monica.

The movie opens with Mitch Rapp and his girlfriend vacationing in the tropics.  While basking in the ocean waters, he proposes to his girl; giving her his mom’s engagement ring. He then leaves the water to fetch a couple of drinks. Arriving at the bar, he asks the bartender for two strong drinks, which is probably the only way he could get into her swimsuit, but while fetching those drinks, jihadists open fire blazing away with AK-47s killing everyone including his, now, fiancé , Katrina played by Charlotte Vega.

While aimlessly running around on the beach, Mitch Rapp takes a double tap from an AK-47 casually falling to the ground. He survives , but the event shapes the rest of his life and in a matter of minutes transforms into an MMA martial artist, expert shot, knife thrower and linguist who gets recruited by the CIA. They send him to the farm where he meets Stan Hurly, an X-Navy Seal and Cold War CIA Operative, played by Michael Keaton.

The technical aspects of the movie were fairly good, especially the detonation of a nuclear bomb under water. There are a number of maritime weapon systems that can drop a nuclear warhead into the ocean. They have an effective radius of 25+ miles. These warheads work by creating a massive pressure wave that crushes any submerged hull; on the surface, the concussion produces upward water pressure that lifts a surface ship breaking its keel. They can take out an entire carrier group.

If you can deal with some of the movie’s exaggerations, American Assassin is worth the price of admission.

Using Probabilistic Genotyping to Evaluate Possible Familial Relationships in Complex Mixtures” on Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2017 from 9:50 a.m. to 10:10 a.m.

In “We Solve Crime with a Little Help from our Friends,” Rachel Oefelein will discuss how to utilize international cooperation to solve crimes, in particular, cases of serial offenders. Furthermore, the process of establishing this cooperation through the proper channels and the means of seeking out “niche” forensic testing options will be examined. Learn more about this presentation by visiting the ISHI website.

Rachel Oefelein, Quality Assurance Manager, Senior DNA Analyst, DNA Labs International.

Rachel Oefelein is the quality assurance manager and senior DNA analyst for DNA Labs International. She received her MSc in Forensic Science from the University of Strathclyde and her BS in Criminal Justice, with a Forensic Science Minor, from Loyola University of New Orleans. She interned at the Forensic Lab in Krakow, Poland and is a board member for an animal rescue group.

In “It Runs in the Family, or Does It? Using Probabilistic Genotyping to Evaluate Possible Familial Relationships in Complex Mixtures,” Cristina Rentas will discuss how STRmix™, validated at DNA Labs International in 2015, can be used to assist in deconvoluting mixtures that would otherwise be too complex for DNA analysts to resolve without the use of probabilistic genotyping software. Case examples evaluating the possibility of familial relationships occurring in mixture samples and how these instances were managed will be discussed. Learn more about this presentation by visiting the ISHI website.

Cristina Rentas, Senior DNA Analyst, DNA Labs International.

Cristina Rentas is a senior DNA analyst at DNA Labs International. She received her Master of Forensic Science in Forensic Molecular Biology from George Washington University, as well as a Bachelor of Biomedical Engineering and Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering from the Catholic University of America. Her current responsibilities include the laboratory processing and analysis of thousands of samples at DNA Labs International, including complex mixtures requiring the use of probabilistic genotyping software, STRmix. She has testified to her conclusions in court systems within the U.S. and internationally.

Now in its 28th year, ISHI is a symposium focused on DNA analysis. Approximately 950 scientists, DNA analysts, law enforcement and legal and ethical experts from around the world gather to share the latest technologies, announce new product concepts and debate policy issues. The conference is open to all practitioners and suppliers of DNA analysis for human identification.

Aguila Ammunition Enters the .300 AAC Blackout Space

CONROE, TEXAS – September 19th, 2017 – Texas Armament & Technology (TxAT) and Aguila Ammunition are pleased to be adding a .300 AAC Blackout round to their product offerings.

The high performance, compact round was originally developed by Advanced Armament Corp. (AAC) as a method of launching 30 caliber projectiles from the AR platform without a reduction in magazine capacity and while retaining compatibility with the standard bolt.

Aguila Ammunition’s .300 AAC Blackout delivers broad capabilities in a shorter, lightweight, durable, and low-recoiling package. “Our new .300 AAC Blackout design delivers impact and accuracy, with low recoil much like other Aguila rounds,” says John Domolky, Director of Sales for TxAT/Aguila Ammunition, “and exceeds the 5.56x45mm in reliability in every barrel length, and especially in pistol lengths.

As the .30 caliber round of choice for most AR15 platform hunters and many 3-Gun shooters, our customers have been asking for an Aguila round to meet these standards. We’ve been working closely with our manufacturing team in Cuernavaca to see this SAAMI-certified, 150-grain bullet developed and it’s finally time to get it in the market for tactical applications, self-defense pistols and bolt-action hunting rifles.”

The sales team at TxAT/Aguila Ammunition is working on deep distribution for this product. It’s currently available in a 50-round box with a 20-round box option being added soon. There is no doubt, like with all Aguila Ammunition, the .300 AAC Blackout will yield a competitive, yet customer friendly price-point. This new round, and other Aguila centerfire can be viewed online at https://www.aguilaammo.com/centerfire/.

Originally created to meet the needs of a specific official end user, the CompM5 is now being offered for sale worldwide as contract commitments and production levels permit. Hogue Inc. Announces New HandALL Beavertail Grip Sleeves for Glock 26/27

image

Henderson, NV – Hogue Incorporated is proud to announce the newest addition to their line of HandALL® Beavertail™ Grip Sleeves with a model precisely designed to fit Glock’s 26 & 27. “Offering a Beavertail Grip Sleeve for Glock’s double stack sub-compact 26 and 27 models is a direct response to customer requests,”said grip designer Matt Hogue. “We have been making grip sleeves to fit Glocks since 1993. The enhanced precision features of our new unique-fit models are the next step in providing a long-lasting natural grip
solution for today’s shooters.”

The Beavertail Grip Sleeve is installed by slipping it over the firearm’s grip frame until it seats perfectly into position. The sleeve is precision manufactured to offer a more secure and comfortable fit. Once installed, the HandALL sleeve provides finger grooves for instinctive handling and control of the firearm. The grooves lead into a gentle palm swell that has been carefully designed to fit naturally in the hand. The beavertail built into the grip sleeve rises high along the backstrap of the frame. This provides full rubber contact with the hand allowing a higher hand-placement on the grip. In addition to protection and comfort, the beavertail also cushions the hand during recoil by providing better distribution of recoil forces. The built-in features of the grip sleeve provide comfort and confidence which in turn promotes accuracy.

The HandALL is built from a long-lasting durable thermoplastic elastomer compound. This rubber ages very gracefully and keeps a firm, tacky feel throughout the life of the grip. It will not harden, split or crack with age or usage. The surface is covered with Hogue’s familiar Cobblestone™ texture, a series of small circular bumps that provide an efficient non-slip, non-irritating grip on the rubber. This model of HandALL Beavertail Grip Sleeves has an MSRP of $10.95 for black, and $12.95 for OD green, flat dark earth, pink and purple.

The grip sleeve also alternatively fits Glock’s 31, 32 and 33 as well as H&K’s USP Compact .40. Although not designed for a precision fit on these models, the grip will fit and function well. Hogue Grip Sleeves are manufactured in their family-owned and operated facilities under the direct supervision of the Hogue family. Hogue, Inc. supports local dealers and encourages customers to purchase Hogue products locally. Chromatra LLC™ Exhibits ColorTAC™ CVA-14 Color Night Vision at NTOA Trade Show

To see the ColorTAC™ CVA-14, visit booth #355 at the NTOA Trade Show, to be held Sept. 24 – 25, 2017 at the Phoenix Convention Center in Phoenix, Arizona.

Beverly, Mass. (September 2017) – Chromatra LLC™, the innovator behind the design and manufacture of color capable night vision, will demonstrate its new product, the ColorTAC™ CVA-14 at booth #355atthe National Tactical Officers Association (NTOA) Trade Show. This state-of-the-art clip-on technology allows night vision users to see color through any existing PVS-14 device.

The NTOA Trade Show Tactical Operations Conference connects law enforcement professionals with internationally renowned instructors offering cutting-edge approaches to challenges faced by officers every day.  This year’s event will be held Sept. 24 – 25, 2017 at the Phoenix Convention Center in Phoenix, Arizona and will feature over 75 courses including seminars, practical tracks, and several contemporary incident debriefs.  Additionally, NTOA offers a first-class trade show where exhibitors such as Chromatra will demonstrate the most up-to-date equipment and technologies.

So how can ColorTAC benefit your organization?  By providing the entire picture…

For all its advantages, current night vision has inherent disadvantages as well:  The green or white glow of a NVG eliminates many tactically critical, color-coded pieces of information:  Is that blood or water on that shirt?  Is that mud or pavement?  Is that the car we’re looking for?  Is that a marsh or a field?  What am I looking at?  Who am I looking at?  With ColorTAC, Military and Law Enforcement officials will be able to answer these questions quickly and accurately.

Chromatra is the first company to develop this technology and is currently doing day and night demonstrations for military, law enforcement agencies and organizations that focus on disaster related efforts.

For professionals that rely on NVG’s to perform their mission, the ability to “See What’s Missing” can mean the difference between life and death. Pictured below are before and after photographs comparing the monochromatic green image seen through a PVS-14 to a PVS-14 with the ColorTAC CVA-14 color adapter attached.  Which picture will your team see?

Surefire Introduced the SureFire 2211 Signature WristLight

The rechargeable SureFire 2211® Signature WristLight provides hands-free tactical illumination for a broad range of low-light scenarios—including use with a handgun—and also features a fully integrated quality timepiece. When strapped to your support-side wrist, the 2211 Signature automatically aligns with a handgun when the weapon is held with a standard two-handed grip, projecting sufficient light for threat identification at close to medium range in low light and darkness. Its broad MaxVision Beam™, created by a precision faceted reflector that shapes the LED’s output into a seamless wall of white light, is generated at three output levels: 300, 60, and 15 lumens. The first two levels are bright enough to overwhelm an aggressor’s dark-adapted vision, providing a tactical advantage, and the lowest output level is perfect for tasks that don’t require so much light, such as loading gear. There’s even an optional 2211 WristLight Conversion Headstrap accessory (sold separately) that allows you to convert the WristLight into a headlamp, for tasks where you need both hands and the light source a bit farther back, such as working on an engine.

The virtually indestructible LED’s output is controlled via either of two ambidextrous switches found on the WristLight’s rugged, hard-anodized aluminum body. The LED is powered by a rechargeable lithium- ion battery that’s easily charged using an included micro-USB cable—there’s even an integral LED fuel gauge that lets you know when the WristLight needs charging. Just like our 2211® Luminox® WristLight, the Signature model features a fully integrated watch. For a go-anywhere tactical light with a fully integrated timepiece—at an attractive price point to boot—you can’t go wrong with a SureFire 2211 Signature WristLight.

MAGPUL’S MAGAZINE WELL FOR YOUR GLOCK GEN 3 and GEN 4

20170917_212224

We decided to take a look at Magpul’s magazine well for the Gen 3 and Gen 4 Glocks. Our conclusion is that its incremental cost is more than compensated for by the improved performance. Installation is a two minute process, and fit and finish are in keeping with Magpul’s  reputation.

20170917_212357The magwell ships with all components needed. Installation requires that you insert the magazine well in your grip; then, tighten the provided retaining screw. The only caution is that you not over tighten the screw, which should be flush with the back strap.

In addition to improving magazine change performance, the Magpul magazine well is also esthetically pleasing. We tested it with factory Glock magazines as well as Magpul Glock magazines and there were no alignment issues, all magazine’s used seated smoothly and  positively.

If you own a Gen 3 or Gen 4 Glock, this is an accessory worth adding to your Glock pistol.

If a customer would like to purchase one of these models, this is their last chance to do so. They need to either have their local dealer order one through RSR, or seek out an online dealer or another dealer that might have one in stock. Given the current sanctions, once these are gone, there are no more available..”
Based on the RPK light machine gun Kalashnikov variant, the Molot Vepr 12 (VPR-12-02) is an original Russian production 12-gauge shotgun.   Due to import regulations, Molot products have been banned from US importation; thus making them instant collectors items and must-haves in any serious collection.
“We wanted our customers to be aware of the limited inventory levels, so that if there was a desire to own one of these shotguns, they could take advantage of this opportunity before it was too late,” adds English.

Brownells Goes Retro – Launches M16A1/AR-15 Furniture

Grinnell, Iowa – Retro rifle fans, rejoice! Brownells announces M16A1-style furniture in 3 different colors, allowing enthusiasts to complete authentic-looking replicas of classic early AR-15 variants.

Colors available include black, Air Force contract green, and brown for builds replicating early Eugene Stoner prototypes.

Available separately or in complete furniture sets, the early-pattern stocks, pistol grips and iconic triangular handguard sets are made with fully-modern materials, and are attractively priced compared to hard-to-find originals.

Handguards fit into triangular handguard caps. Stocks are based on the Type D pattern, without a trapdoor compartment, and fit onto A-1 length buffer tubes.

“Customers have a deep desire for nostalgia, and they wanted to be able to build their own version of an early AR-15 or M16A1,” said Brownells CEO Pete Brownell. “We’re proud to offer these classic-looking parts to help accomplish those builds.”
