Cobalt Kinetics Now Offering Parts Packages and Build Kits for AR-15 Builders and D.I.Y. Gunsmiths

Cobalt Kinetics Parts

Washington, Utah December 15, 2017 – Cobalt Kinetics, manufacturer of premium performance and precision engineered rifles, announces the release of build kits and parts packages for AR-15 Rifles.
Much of the appeal- and the main reason for the broad commercial success of the AR15 is its ability to be modified, customized, and personalized by anyone. Interchangeable parts and accessories allow the home-builder to build a truly unique weapon. Considering the size of the entire AR accessory market, the DIY gunsmith can achieve millions of unique configurations.
Cobalt Kinetics offers the fixed and adjustable billet stocks (as seen on the EDGE and TEAM rifles), billet pistol grip and the PRO buffer system (OEM kit on TEAM rifles). The four muzzle devices used on all of Cobalt’s guns have been available for a few months now. And the add-on polymer magwell funnel that comes standard on all TEAM models can now be added to any cobalt receiver.
The BAMF receiver set is available for those seeking to build their own rifle with Dual Drop functionality. Of the greatest interest, is the complete chassis kit- the BYOB, or “Build Your Own BAMF.” The BYOB includes the upper, lower, grip, handguard, and (optional) stock. Basically, it’s just an EDGE rifle or carbine furnished without the internal workings. Both the BAMF receiver set and BYOB chassis come pre-loaded with the patented Dual Drop internal mechanism. The company has even put together some “packages” that boast significant discounts over buying the parts separately.
The “AR Performance Upgrade Kit” includes the Pro brake, PRO buffer system and a unique,low-profile adjustable gas block- everything to negate recoil and maximize speed and control.
The entire line-up of parts can be had in any color- as long as it’s black. Or one can certainly make an appeal to the Khaos Kinetics custom shop if any sort of special treatment desired.
The quality and performance of Cobalt’s firearms and components is undisputed. These fine weapons have been used to great success in the hands of professional competition shooters and domestic law-enforcement. Cobalt rifles have made appearances at international competitions in 7 countries. This kind of presence can only be earned by demonstrating true quality and performance. Cobalt’s engineers and designers are constantly improving and revising the product to stay ahead of the market norm and maintain the company’s position at the head of the pack.
Skylar Stewart, Vice President of Cobalt Kinetics stated that
“Initially there was a lot of reservation about releasing our proprietary parts for widespread use. Our concerns were for the owners of our product- that the value and exclusivity of their Cobalt rifles could be somehow diminished. The actual response to our kits and parts out there has been very positive- we find that many consumers of our chassis kits and upgrade parts already own Cobalt rifles- now they’re looking to build  unique configurations and styles with the quality and performance of the Cobalt rifle. A lot of people buying our parts are big fans of the brand- but our complete rifle either isn’t in their budget, or they have a non-Cobalt rifle they really like, that they want to upgrade. These customers are now able to modify their AR-15s with much of the performance of our complete guns. We’re thrilled to get that kind of demand and feedback from a loyal market.”

About Cobalt Kinetics

Cobalt Kinetics designs and builds firearms with bold aesthetics, cutting-edge technical innovation, state-of-the-art engineering and meticulous precision.

Cobalt Kinetics was founded out of dissatisfaction with the unending rows of the same black rifle on every gun shop wall across the country. The real issue with the “black rifle” is that there is little differentiation in the market and very little true innovation. Cobalt Kinetics broke from tradition and re-imagined firearm design and intent. Form and function could be enhanced by applying a careful balance of science, engineering, and art to the gun. Functions unique to Cobalt’s rifles such as the Dual Drop and Cobalt Advantage Reloading System demonstrate this unique new approach. At Cobalt Kinetics, flaws in the original AR-15 design have been corrected and advancements have been implemented while maintaining ultimate precision, absolute durability and bold aesthetics. Cobalt is driven to create firearms that are more effective, more reliable and more rewarding to the owner.

Tulster Introduces the IWB Profile Holster for M&P M2.0 9mm / .40 Pistols

https://d3d71ba2asa5oz.cloudfront.net/12034282/images/tul_pfl_swmp49_blk_rh_front.jpg

Jenks, Oklahoma (December 2017) – Have you checked out the new M&P M2.0 from Smith & Wesson yet? Originally introduced in 2005, the M&P lineup has been a popular handgun for duty, home defense, and concealed carry users. Although the improvements made to the M2.0 are not major, we saw the need to make some alterations to the Tulster Profile Holster to better accommodate the feature modifications introduced by S&W.

What does the new M&P Tulster IWB Holster fit?

In short, the new holster will fit the original M&P Standard 4.25” along with both the M&P M2.0 Compact 4” and Full Size 4.25”. So why not two different holsters? There is only .15” difference between the 4” and 4.25” for the M2.0…. I know, right? Doesn’t make any sense, but with very little variation between them, there’s not enough difference to make two separate holsters.

From the ground up, the Profile Holster was designed to be an ultra-concealable, minimalistic, appendix carry holster without the drawbacks. Distinct features such as the matte-edge finish and minimal material used facilitate in a comfortable fit providing maximum concealment for concealed carry.

Each AIWB Profile holster is formed to the M&P M2.0 for a snug fit with low drag. The adjustable retention along with the inherent positive retention “SNAP” ensures the firearm is secure when holstered.

Removal of extra material between the muzzle and retention screw adds to a layer of comfort without digging into the body or thigh. The trigger guard is intentionally undercut to promote a higher grip on the M&P and allow for a magazine release while the firearm is fully holstered.

From the injection molded belt clip to the soft loop option, the cant settings are easily adjustable from 0-15 degrees to allow for a perfect grip on the M&P M2.0.

This Profile holster can be ordered in many different colors and patterns for either Right or Left handed shooters.

Holster Features:

  • Undercut trigger guard.
  • Works with Quick Clip or Softloop Kit.
  • Adjustable retention.
  • Adjust cant from 0-15 degrees.
  • Full sweat shield.
  • Rounded and matte edges.
  • Minimal material.

Net Neutrality Is No Longer The Rule !

Image result for Internet

Readers it’s Friday and time for our weekly shoot the shit. By now, I hope you’ve done all of your Christmas shopping. Keep in mind that if you delay, you risk the opening of the alien portals and having to contend with the fruitcakes. So, get your shopping done pronto! This season, I’m a little bummed out by the fact that stores are not providing gift boxes and gift wrapping. Thank God, a local Barnes and Nobel store has a charity on site wrapping for donations.

To participate in a shoot the shit you don’t need to know anything about the subject, you can make unsupported comments, use uncensored profanity, criticize anyone you wish or change the subject. We’ve found that shoot the shits are far superior to paying $150 per hour to a jackass that studied psychology so they could understand themselves. So, feel free to participate and let us hear from you.

On the issue of Net Neutrality…

One of the few regulations that the previous administration put in place was the concept of “Net Neutrality.” In its simplest form, net neutrality requires the local exchange carriers and ISPs to treat all internet traffic equally. In other words Netflix streaming could not be prioritized over John or Jane Doe’s new product video. If ISPs and  local exchange carriers were allowed to prioritize, then there’s a very good chance that the Doe’s video would be pixilating and of a lower quality.

Bandwidth is not unlimited, and it costs money to expand and maintain. The internet is a matrix of interconnected computers, switches and routers via coaxial cable, multimode and single mode fiber. An ISP ( your local internet provider ) connects to the outside world by connecting to those external resources using backbones provided by the local exchange carriers (AT&T, Verizon, etc.). Traffic between computers within the ISP’s local area are routed through the ISP’s network and equipment; however, traffic destined to Italy, for example, would use a local exchange carrier’s backbone to get to Italy.

The Internet is critical infrastructure; if you don’t believe that try living without it for a week. The government delivers services via the internet, companies provide sales and customer support via the internet, and in 2017 virtually anything can be ordered and supported via the internet, including medical services.

So, what’s up with today’s FCC decision…

By repealing “Net Neutrality, ” what the FCC has done is to end the treatment of the ISP and local exchange carrier as utilities and rebranding them as information providers.  As such, they are no longer required to provide connectivity or they can differentially price connectivity to limit anyone they see as a competitor or potential. Those of you old enough to go through divestiture know exactly what I’m talking about. Just ask anyone that was in a senior management position at MCI and Sprint.

Think of it this way. The lanes you are allowed to use on a highway is a function of how much you are willing to pay for your vehicle registration. And, in some cases, your vehicle could be denied use of the highway altogether.

At this stage, it’s impossible to fully asses what the impact of Ajit Pai’s, FCC Director, and a former Verizon employee, decision will be; however, rest assured it won’t be good for the millions of subscribers and businesses of all sizes.

The FCC’s decision had one simple goal and that is profit maximization for ISPs and local exchange carriers – now classified as information providers. Under net neutrality, access to the internet has made it possible for even the smallest of businesses to gain global exposure, and today Internet commerce runs into the billions of dollars. With today’s FCC decision, if your business relies on internet services for its day to day operations you need to plan to spend considerably more for access.

There’s nothing wrong with profit maximization, it’s part and parcel of the efficient allocation of investment capital, but when it impacts critical infrastructure it needs a very careful eye. Unfortunately, Mr. Pai relied principally on input from AT&T, Comcast and Verizon in making his decision. Making matters worse, the FCC, as part, of its net neutrality decision made no effort to establish minimum performance requirements on these providers. In making his decision Mr. Pai has done a great disservice to President Trump’s Administration, the American people and the overall U.S. economy.

With today’s decision, the FCC has planted seeds which will lead to conditions similar to those encountered by startup companies in the early 1980s during divestiture. In this period, startups like MCI, U.S. Sprint and several others incurred millions of dollars in legal fees filing complaints with the FTC against the local exchange carriers.

Happy Holidays to all of our readers. Happy Hanukah and Merry Christmas to all. Be safe and spend some quality time with your buds and family.

Modified to include the full text of the Net Neutrality Rules. Readers should note that what they are hearing from the news media is misinformation. The document is 400 pages of text. My suggestion to readers is that you get through the Introduction and Executive Summary, about 50 well written pages. It will give you an excellent overview of what the FCC was trying to accomplish when net neutrality was codified. Read it, it’s well worth the time and effort.

Federal Premium Introduces All-New 224 Valkyrie Cartridge

ANOKA, Minnesota – December 13, 2017 – Federal Premium is pleased to introduce an all-new cartridge that takes the popular MSR 15 platform to unheard of heights in long-range precision and ballistic performance. The 224 Valkyrie produces flat trajectories, match-grade accuracy and supersonic velocities beyond 1,300 yards downrange.
“The 224 Valkyrie is based on a 30 Rem./6.8 SPC case necked down to .224 caliber,” explains Mike Holm, Federal Premium Centerfire Ammunition Global Product Lane Director. “It beats the ballistics of all other MSR 15 cartridges, including the 22 Nosler, 223 Rem. and 6.5 Grendel. Plus, it offers comparable performance to larger rounds like the 6.5 Creedmoor, with roughly half the felt recoil—and at a more economical price.”
Learn more and see the cartridge perform in the
224 Valkyrie intro video.
Shooters can review the technical specifications for the new round once it is approved by the Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers’ Institute (SAAMI) which is expected in January at the 2018 SHOT Show in Las Vegas. At that time, information such as chamber specifications and cartridge pressure standards, proof pressure range and barrel length/twist recommendations will be communicated. Cartridge and chamber drawings will also be available soon after SAAMI approves the cartridge for standardization.
Testing conducted by Federal Premium engineers using 24-inch test barrels with a 1:7 twist revealed the 224 Valkyrie offers up to 128 inches less drop and 69 inches less wind drift (with a 10 mph crosswind) at 1,000 yards than other MSR 15 rounds. The new cartridge also offers significant advantages in velocity and energy.
The 224 Valkyrie will initially be available in four loads: 90-grain Gold Medal Sierra MatchKing, 60-grain Nosler Ballistic Tip Varmint, 90-grain Fusion MSR and 75-grain American Eagle TMJ. These proven Federal Premium bullet offerings provide options for long-range competitors, target shooters and hunters pursuing game from varmints up to deer-sized animals.
Federal Premium engineers designed the 224 Valkyrie for gas-driven MSR 15 actions, but it’s also extremely effective from bolt guns. “The easiest way for shooters to capitalize on the new cartridge is purchase a firearm from one of the many gun makers jumping on the 224 Valkyrie bandwagon,” says Holm. “You can also buy a new upper and use it with your existing lower. A gunsmith or other person trained in building MSRs can also make the necessary modifications.”

Part No. / Description / MSRP
GM224VLKM1 / 224 Valkyrie 90-grain Gold Medal Sierra MatchKing / $31.95
P224VLKBT1 / 224 Valkyrie 60-grain Nosler Ballistic Tip / $26.95
F224VLKMSR1 / 224 Valkyrie 100-grain Fusion MSR / $28.95
AE224VLK1 / 224 Valkyrie 75-grain American Eagle TMJ / $12.95

Reloading data will be available in spring of 2018, when SAAMI releases its load-building specifications. However, reloading die sets will be available from RCBS, and other ammo-building components will also be offered by several popular brands.

National Police Ammunition Settles Industrial Press Claim

NPA LogoMiami, Fla. (December 2017)  – National Police Ammunition, based in Miami, the leading supplier of small-arms ammunition for military, law enforcement and civilian use, has agreed to settle a claim that NPA filed over an industrial press that was purchased to manufacture bullets.

The dispute arose over a 16-ton industrial press that was rebuilt by its original manufacturer, PTX-PENTRONIX, INC. of Michigan.

Ultimately, the dispute, filed in Circuit Court in Miami-Dade County, Florida, also saw the involvement of PTX parent company, Gasbarre Products, Inc., based in Western Pennsylvania.

After nearly a year-and-a-half of legal wrangling, and with an imminent trial date looming in the near future, the parties reached an agreement through court-ordered mediation.

Asked about the resolution of the case, Erik Agazim, the founder and manager of National Police Ammunition, would say only that “the dispute has been resolved amicably.”

About National Police Ammunition:

Based in Miami Florida, National Police Ammunition is one of the leading manufacturers of lead-free ammunition in the United States whose products have been tested, approved, and recommended by State and Federal law enforcement.  NPA’s products are held to the strictest of quality controls which have been developed with our customers to address the unique requirements of law enforcement agencies.  NPA consistently provides superior lead times, outstanding service, and the most cost effective lead-free products to the industry.

Aurora Demonstrates Fully Autonomous Helicopter

Autonomous UH-1H successfully demonstrates flight and operational capabilities at
Marine Corps Base Quantico

MARINE CORPS BASE QUANTICO, VA, December 13, 2017 – Aurora Flight Sciences conducted a successful demonstration of the company’s autonomous helicopter system developed under the Office of Naval Research’s (ONR) Autonomous Aerial Cargo Utility System (AACUS) program. Held at Marine Corps Base Quantico’s Urban Training Center, the AACUS-Enabled UH-1H (AEH-1) conducted multiple flights, showcasing its ability to autonomously execute re-supply missions in relevant and austere settings.

AACUS is an aircraft-agnostic hardware and software suite which enables a Marine on the ground to request a supply delivery via helicopter from a handheld tablet, requiring no advanced training to operate the system. AEH-1 is fitted with onboard lidar and camera sensors that enable it to detect and avoid obstacles and evaluate the landing zone. The system processes this information to perform onboard mission, route, and path planning to enable autonomous mission execution.

While previous demonstrations have showcased the system’s autonomy capabilities and interactions with trained operators, this is the first demonstration in which the aircraft performed cargo and utility missions in an operationally-relevant training environment with Marine interaction. As part of the demonstration, Marines loaded supplies for the aircraft before clearing the autonomy system for autonomous takeoff.

“The Marines’ vision for the future of vertical lift operation and support is optionally-piloted aircraft,” said AACUS Program Manager Stephen Chisarik. “Aurora’s system enables any rotary-wing aircraft to detect and react to hazards in the flight path, and make appropriate adjustments to keep the aircraft safe.”

“We’ve developed this great capability ahead of requirements and it’s up to us to determine how to use it,” said Lt. Gen. Robert Walsh, commanding general, Marine Corps Combat Development Command. “The young marines today have grown up in a tech-savvy society, which is an advantage. We’ve got to keep pushing and moving this technology forward.”

Aurora has developed multiple technologies under the AACUS program: the digital flight control system which enables the UH-1 to fly autonomously; and the Tactical Autonomous aerial LOgistics System (TALOS) autonomy technology. The AEH-1 was granted a Special Airworthiness Certificate by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in October, allowing the aircraft to operate autonomous with only a safety pilot onboard to monitor the controls.

Today’s flights served as the final demonstration to ONR, Department of Defense representatives and other senior officials, the culmination of a highly successful five-year Innovative Naval Prototype (INP) program. Having completed the third and final phase of the program, AACUS will now transition to the Marine Corps for experimentation and potential acquisition.

NSSF Praises U.S. House Passage of National Concealed Carry Reciprocity Bill with Fix NICS Provisions

NSSF logo

NEWTOWN, Conn. — The National Shooting Sports Foundation® (NSSF®), the trade association for the firearms, ammunition and related industries, praised today’s 231 to 198 vote passage by the U.S. House of Representatives of the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act of 2017 (H.R. 38), as amended to include legislative provisions to “Fix NICS,” which have long been a priority for the organization.

“With House passage today of H.R. 38, we have cleared a major hurdle toward what will be two major achievements for America’s law-abiding gun owners and for our federally-licensed firearms retailers,” said Lawrence Keane, NSSF senior vice president and general counsel. “This legislation provides a solution to the confusing patchwork of concealed carry laws and ensures that our citizens’ Second Amendment rights do not end at the state line.”

“Federally licensed firearms retailers rely upon the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) to be accurate in preventing the sale and transfer of firearms to prohibited persons. The Fix NICS Act provisions included in the legislation passed today builds on the successes of NSSF’s FixNICS® campaign to encourage states to enter all applicable disqualifying records into the FBI’s National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) and requires federal agencies to properly report relevant records and hold those who fail to do so accountable,” Keane said.

“On behalf of our members, NSSF would like to recognize Congressmen Richard Hudson (R-N.C.), John Culberson (R-Texas) and Henry Cuellar (D-Texas) for their bipartisan leadership in advancing this important legislation,” Keane concluded.

WOULD YOU LIKE TO COME UP TO MY ROOM AND SEE MY BAT MITZVAH PICTURES ?

Image result for Ex LaxReaders this has been an unbelievable week, did someone slip Washington D.C. Ex Lax while we weren’t looking. It’s amazing!

We now have men walking around with inferiority complexes and contemplating suicide.  For weeks we’ve been hearing from the media how bad men and from women who are rightfully pissed about the way they’ve been treated, but let’s get real ladies! How many of you know a woman willing to use sex to advance her goals or agenda. Be honest, because it happens more frequently than decent hardworking ladies care to admit. Fact!

Clearly, men need to rethink how they interact with women, but let’s face it, we spend at least 8 hours per day with each other and it’s natural for affinities to develop. Men, since homo sapiens appeared on the planet, have been the aggressive gender, they hunt, they fought wars and pursued women; it is genetic predisposition. So, if you show up at the office in a sheer dress that reveals you’re wearing a thong or allows the Areola to be visible while sitting at your desk, right wrong or indifferent you’ll be hit on. Also fact!

If you’re traveling with a male boss, or coworker, and he invites you up to his room to see his Bat Mitzvah pictures or discuss tomorrow’s meeting agenda the mere suggestions should sound alarms. It’s not my intention to place the burden on the ladies, but we all need to be receptive to bilateral criticism.

I’ve spent quite a bit of time in Washington D.C. over the years. I liked hanging out at The One Step Down Club (closed circa 2000)  on Pennsylvania Ave, a great Jazz establishment. On the weekends they hosted some amazing local talent. There’s nothing like three brothers on bass, piano and saxophone producing some kickass jazz. Having said that, I can assure you that pork__g is not limited to Congressional legislation!

In closing…

Guys let’s give the ladies a break and ladies let’s give the guys a break also. Situational awareness applies to more than armed conflict avoidance.

Speaking of armed conflict, the House has approved the bipartisan Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act of 2017 (H.R. 38) with 58 original cosponsors. This piece of legislation is long overdue and does not infringe on state’s rights. It was simply amazing that Congresswoman Pelosi literally had no idea what the legislation is intended to do. Sad!

Healthcare…

There’s been a great deal of misinformation  disseminated about the ACA (a.k.a Obamacare). Allow me to take a stab at showing you why it was a bad approach to healthcare from the get-go.

  1. Insurance companies are for profit organization. They are in the business of managing risk. The way they achieve profitability is by charging premiums, application of deductibles, exclusions in coverage and managing what they pay to doctors or healthcare providers.
  2. The ACA created a captive market. It required everyone meeting specific criteria to purchase insurance, or provide insurance for employees. Failure to comply results in a IRS fine.
  3. It requires health insurance companies to provide a minimum level of coverage, including preexisting conditions. This raises risk to the insurance company.
  4. Furthermore, it established exchanges serviced by a limited number of companies.
  5. If the individual could not afford the premiums, the federal government will provide subsidies.

Imagine for a moment that you are a painter and a local home owners association contracted with you to provide painting services for the housing development. Next, the association sends out a letter requiring all homeowners to paint their homes once a year or pay a special assessment. They also tell you that in addition to painting the home you the painter also needs to steam clean the driveway. Lastly, if the homeowner can’t afford to pay for your service, the association will subsidize the homeowner.

My question to you the painter: What would you do to your price?

This is why the ACA is irreparable and destined to fail.

I’ll close out this shoot the shit with a tune from Fisher “Stop It” it’ll warm you up for the weekend’s festivities.

Have a great weekend but be safe and spend some quality time with you buds and family! Three weeks til Christmas so get your shopping done before the alien portals open and the fruitcakes come out!

Though it was designed specifically for law enforcement, the Mini Shot M-Spec is also ideal for competition shooting, hunting and home defense applications.

The Mini Shot M-Spec’s extremely low power consumption provides 300-30,000 hours of battery life, depending on power setting, from a single CR1632 battery. 100% waterproof, this compact reflex sight’s aluminum housing with steel protective shield makes it one of the most durable reflex sights on the market. But the M-Spec wasn’t just designed to be rugged, it is also incredibly user-friendly due to ambidextrous digital switch controls that allow both left and right handed shooters to turn on its 3 MOA reticle. Forget the special tools, as windage and elevation adjustments can be made at the click of a button. The Mini Shot’s versatility doesn’t end with the firearm it can be mounted to, either—10 brightness levels allow the sight to be used anywhere from extremely low light situations to bright sunny conditions.

Recoil rated up to .375 H&H, this unique sight boasts a 12 hour auto shut-off feature to help save battery. With a MSRP of $249.99, the Mini Shot is a no-brainer for shooters looking for a tough, small-sized reflex sight. The Mini Shot M-Spec FMS includes rubber cover, low profile fixed mount, AR riser fixed mount, battery and manual.

Marines to Test Technology that Allows Fully Autonomous Flight for Helicopters

AuroraManassas, VA —The Office of Naval Research (ONR) will conduct a final demonstration of Aurora’s Autonomous Aerial Cargo Utility System (AACUS) on Wednesday, Dec. 13, at Marine Corps Base Quantico’s Urban Training Center, as the program moves to the Marine Corps for experimentation and potential acquisition.

AACUS enables any rotary-wing aircraft to fly completely autonomously. It allows a Marine in the field to easily request supplies even to austere or dangerous environments. Those requests can be made intuitively and quickly from a hand-held tablet, without prior training required. The Dec. 13 demonstration will feature a UH-1 “Huey” flying autonomously on multiple missions.

“AACUS gives revolutionary capability to our fleet and force,” said Dennis Baker, AACUS program officer. “It can be used as a pilot aid in degraded visual environments, or allow fully autonomous flights in contested environments, keeping our pilots out of harm’s way.”
