Berlin, 27 September 2019 – HENSOLDT, the leading independent sensor solutions provider, will present its Simsphere ETCS at the Railway Forum in Berlin next week. The mobile training and simulation solution will be used for training train drivers in the European Train Control System (ETCS) and can in future be downloaded as an app.

“With our app on an Android tablet, train drivers will in the future be provided with basic and advanced training in the various aspects of the European Train Control System,” explained Stephan Schäfer, Head of Simulation at HENSOLDT. “Our app enables the user to get to know the training material on the move and also provides a reference search so that problems can be solved quickly.”

First of all, the theoretical principles of the training session are explained to the user. In order  to interactively convey this, the user then virtually travels a stretch of the track – similar to a video game – and reacts as if he or she were driving a real train. In this way, the user can get to know the signal system and increase his or her knowledge. With this app, the train drivers learn by experiencing the workflows of a train journey under close-to-real conditions and are able to review the content after their training session in order to consolidate the knowledge they have acquired.

“There is no solution like ours on the market,” commented Stephan Schäfer. The current focal point of further development is on Europe and the European languages. However, thanks to the modular structure of the app, it is possible to program it in every language imaginable and to integrate relevant content in accordance with the customer’s wishes. If necessary, the system can also be configured for iOS and Windows operating systems.

When presenting the ETCS tablet to experts from the sector, HENSOLDT will be launching a new member of its Simsphere family of simulators. The name Simsphere is a combination of the words simulation and sphere, which means that it stands for the use of simulation for learning complex training material. New All-In-One Miniature Torque Driver From Fix It Sticks

AMLS

The Advanced Mini Link System (AMLS) is an advanced single unit digital data link system specifically designed for operations of up to 150 Km for medium to large size platforms which are sensitive to Size, Weight and Power (SWaP). The AMLS enables digital communication between equipment mounted on a remote platform (UAV/Helicopter/Maritime vessel etc.) and a ground station (GCS). The AMLS supports high bandwidth downlink from the remote platform to the GCS and narrow band uplink to the remote platform. The system maintains the link during all parts of the mission as long as Line Of Sight (LOS) is available.

M2DLS

The Mini Micro Data Link System (M2DLS) is an advanced single unit digital data link system specifically designed for micro and small size platforms which are sensitive to Size, Weight and Power (SWaP). The M2DLS provides full duplex digital communication. The Gaussian-shaped Minimum Shift Keying (GMSK) digital modulation is used due to its constant envelope characteristic which allows the use of efficient power amplifiers which substantially reduces aircraft power consumption. The power consumption reduction is a critical factor for tactical unmanned platforms which are limited in power budget and provides high Data link performance with high fade margin.

UVR

The UHF/VHF Radio (UVR) is an advanced analog/digital data link system that has been specifically designed for manned and unmanned platforms to handle both audio and data transmission. The UVR’s open architecture enables transmitting audio and Ethernet signals. The UVR voice/data transceiver enables voice or data communication over VHF and UHF frequency band. The transceiver is software controlled implementing both analog and digital modulations. The transceiver supports wide frequency range from 30MHz to 512MHz utilizing various modulations. The lightweight transceiver design supports both ground and airborne installation. This solution consists of a multi-band, multi-mode transceiver, providing a clear and secure voice and data communications facilities over an extended frequency range.

SECONDARY LINK & FTS UHF

The Secondary Link is an advanced, long-range digital data link system that has been specifically designed for unmanned platforms. This versatile and cost-effective solution enables simplex narrow band digital link and a low rate communication in a signal channel UHF. The link is an affordable system that is suitable for any class of unmanned aerial platform: Mini, Small, Tactical and MALE/HALE UAS. It is small and light-weight, has a low power consumption and combines commercially proven technologies and standards with advanced algorithm, to provide excellent reliability and high performance. This solution consists of a single communication channel for commands to the UAV, and can act as a primary link, as a redundant link for backup purposes, or as a flight termination system (FTS). The UHF compact link is an optional part of the AMLS and IDLS-MK II systems.

A psychologist is a jackass who studied psychology so they could understand themselves. Your going to pay someone $150+ per hour who’s going to try to convince you that the shooting sports is a manifestation of penis envy. Instead, I recommend that you turn off the tube, shutdown the iPhone and start a shoot the shit. Our regular readers know that a shoot the shit is a social interaction in which participants don’t need to know anything about the subject being discussed, make any unsupported comments, use uncensored profanity and/or change the subject at will. It’s like being in Congress with the exception that your are not financially compensated. So, let’s shoot the shit and remember that BUCKWHEAT says “stop vaping!”

This next Pravda video takes a shot at our Saudi Arabia Patriot missile installations; pointing out how ineffective they were against smaller sized targets like the Iranian drones used against Saudi Arabian oil fields.

I personally don’t believe our Patriot missile system is ineffective. However, it shows, or better said leads me to believe, that Iran did their ELINT work and charted an attack flight path and altitude to avoid detection. Possibility number two – Patriot missile battery command and control were slacking. If that’s the case someone should lose their job.

The way missile systems are deployed is in conjunction with a long range radar, or radars, used to detect an approaching threat; then, handoff the target to a fire control station for the missile battery, where short range high precision radars track the incoming target for a kill.

CZ-USA Selects Four Junior Shooters to Attempt New Guinness World Record!

Kansas City, KS (September 24, 2019) – On October 12, 2019 CZ-USA’s Shotgun Product Manager and Pro-shooter, David Miller, along with four junior shooters are going to attempt to set the new world record for most sporting clay targets shot in a 12-hour period by a five-person team.

The junior shooters selected for this historic attempt are:

  • Levi Hendrichs, of Sibley, Iowa
  • Makayla Scott, White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia
  • Jessica Strasser, Waterford, Wisconsin
  • Weston Zolck, Herman, Nebraska

Each team member was selected based on an essay they submitted to CZ-USA and their shooting score from a qualifying event at AIM or SCTP Nationals.

“I’m really proud to be working with these young people for our record book attempt,” said Miller, the current Guinness World Records title holder for the most sporting clay targets shot in one hour. “They are dedicated shooters with a great deal of energy and enthusiasm. With their amazing work ethic, I know we can set that new record!”

This is an Official Guinness World Records attempt. The current record for most sporting clays shot by a five-person team in 12 hours is 4,602 targets.

All team members will use the new CZ-USA 1012 shotgun, CZ-USA’s next evolution in their semi-auto shotgun line featuring the 1012’s gas-less operating system.

Paris/Munich, 24 September 2019 – Monitoring the airspace is an important task. Even more so when dangers are becoming smaller and smaller: The use and circulation of small drones has increased substantially over recent years and months. While some regulatory frameworks exist, their implementation has proven difficult in practice. Airports especially are high-risk areas, as a collision between drones and airplanes – whether intentional or not – may result in accidents and even deadly crashes. Added to that the risk of drones employed as weapons by dropping explosives, biological or chemical substances, it becomes clear that airports and other critical infrastructures must be continuously monitored, secured and have access to means of intervention in cases where drones may enter their airspace.

The deployment of HENSOLDT counter-UAS (C-UAS) technology at the G7 Summit in Biarritz is the most recent success of the modular Xpeller family and certainly a highlight of Franco-German cooperation. Through its subsidiary in France in cooperation with Aéroports de Paris (ADP), HENSOLDT was able to support the French authorities in securing a number of events of national and international importance.

HENSOLDT initially demonstrated the capabilities of the Xpeller System as part of ADP’s existing counter-UAV system Hologarde while securing Paris Air Show this year. The installation convinced the customer to immediately reuse the system to secure the national parade on the 14th of July in Paris. The Xpeller modules used in all of the events are Z:NightOwl cameras, Spexer radars and proprietary software. These modules can be easily integrated into existing systems. The experiences gained with and the feedback received from each installation were used to immediately optimize the following deployment.

Given that the initial contact between ADP and HENSOLDT was only established in February 2019, the realization of three challenging installations in less than six months is yet another success. It proves the agility and flexibility of HENSOLDT Ventures, the home of Xpeller. “HENSOLDT is further cooperating with ADP to provide C-UAS capabilities to airports worldwide,” said Markus Wolf, Director Sales Xpeller. HENSOLDT Ventures offers alternative Xpeller variants to cater to various distance requirements to monitor the target in real-time – even including counter-measures such as jamming and counter-drones.
