Here’s a quick refresher of our offerings:
Try Before You Buy:
A single night (roughly 6-8 hours) event to help new and prospective buyers get a detailed and personal session to help them make an informed decision on their night vision purchases. Purposely small, we want to make sure that we can give the customer enough time and information to guide them through the technologies and options available to them. Customers will be able to sample products and options currently available for purchase and experience them in use.
Nighfighter 101:
Designed to arm students with a solid understanding of the fundamentals of night vision operation and use. Beginning with gear choice and setup, the class provides students the tools for learning to safely / effectively move, shoot, and communicate in low-light/no-light environments. Students will participate in a variety of movement and live-fire exercises aimed at producing a core competency with night vision goggles, lasers, and white light.
Nightfighter 201:
Designed to provide advanced instruction to students who already are competent in low/no-light operations. This course focuses on building upon students’ already established skillsets in both individual and team settings for increased capabilities in a variety of different environments. Students will execute a number of tactical and skilled-based tasks including team movement and communication, target discrimination/engagement, advanced problem solving and individual/team tasks in an assortment of environments.

Law Enforcement Training Programs
Do you know that in addition to open enrollment training, TNVC also conducts Law Enforcement specific training? Our Law Enforcement training team’s diverse real-world experience allows us to provide a flexible and adaptable curriculum to provide specialized training that is safe, realistic, and practical to Law Enforcement agencies with different levels of night vision knowledge and experience. Our training team will work with your agency to help tailor our instruction to meet your requirements and needs. TNVC can provide instruction ranging from “unboxing” and familiarization up to building on already existing night vision skillsets.
If it is not possible for an agency to host TNVC for a contract class, there is still an opportunity for officers to get the NVG training that they are seeking. TNVC also conducts a Law Enforcement Night Fighter 101* class. These classes closely follow the format and instruction method of our civilian “open enrollment” classes. However, by having a student base comprised solely of Law Enforcement professionals, this gives us the freedom to address certain topics in class that would not be relevant or appropriate in an open enrollment class. Time can be spent discussing things such as equipment procurement assistance, legality and case law pertaining to night vision, use of force considerations, etc. Additionally, these courses will occur during the week to hopefully make it easier for LEOs to attend.

NSSF, ATF Celebrate 25 Years of Partnership With The ‘Don’t Lie for the Other Guy’ Anti-Straw Purchasing Campaign
WASHINGTON, D.C. – NSSF® – The Firearm Industry Trade Association – and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) celebrated 25 years of collaboration with the “Don’t Lie for the Other Guy™” program to prevent the straw purchase of firearms, that is when an individual illegally buys a firearm on behalf of someone who is prohibited from owning one. This milestone was commemorated with a press conference featuring ATF Deputy Director Rob Cekada and NSSF President and CEO Joe Bartozzi.
When a criminal is illegally trafficking in firearms or knows they cannot pass an FBI National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) background check, they may try to entice a friend or acquaintance to purchase a firearm for them. This is a straw purchase and it is a felony. The “Don’t Lie for the Other Guy” campaign drives home the message that anyone making an illegal firearm purchase faces a federal felony penalty of up to 15 years in prison and up to $250,000 in fines.
Straw purchasing firearms poses a serious risk to public safety by allowing guns to get into the hands of those who are a danger to themselves or others. Felons, domestic abusers and people with certain mental health conditions or drug addiction are “prohibitive persons” – those not permitted to purchase firearms. Through straw purchasing, these people are able to obtain weapons that are often used in violent crimes like homicides, robberies and gang-related activities.
Recognizing the danger posed by straw purchasing, NSSF and ATF came together in 2000 to launch a groundbreaking public education campaign. The goals were simple but powerful:
“Firearm industry members, the retailers in neighborhoods and communities across the country, are the first line of defense in the collaborative effort to stop illegal firearm purchases and keep firearms out of the hands of those who should not possess them. NSSF, as the firearm industry trade association, is proud of our 25-year partnership with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives in the ‘Don’t Lie for the Other Guy’ public education and awareness initiative to reduce these illegal straw purchases,” NSSF President and CEO Joe Bartozzi stated. “Retailers want nothing more than to keep guns out of the hands of criminals and the ‘Don’t Lie’ initiative has proven to do just that. We look forward to 25 more years.”
“ATF agents are on the front lines every day—taking down traffickers, dismantling criminal networks, and stopping violent offenders. This campaign helps support their work by cutting off the illegal supply of firearms at the source,” ATF Deputy Director Rob Cekada said.
Historically, “Don’t Lie for the Other Guy” campaigns have been fully funded by the firearm industry. In 2022, the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act gave this campaign new strength by making straw purchasing and firearms trafficking standalone federal crimes with tougher penalties: up to 15 years in prison and fines of $250,000. The law also provided federal funding for ATF to complement the industry-funded program.
In this 25th year of the campaign, NSSF has delivered 107.4 million total gross media impressions in three major cities and ATF has delivered 85 million ad views for the campaign in five different cities to combat straw purchasing and the violence it breeds.

A recent call from U.S. Senator Ron Wyden has renewed scrutiny of Microsoft’s cybersecurity practices, urging the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to investigate the tech company over what he describes as systemic security weaknesses with national security implications.
In a letter dated September 10 to FTC Chairman Andrew Ferguson, Wyden cited Microsoft’s long-standing dominance in enterprise IT and claimed that default configurations and outdated security protocols in its software have contributed to major cybersecurity breaches. He pointed to a 2024 ransomware attack on Ascension, a large U.S. hospital network, as a particularly stark example.
According to Wyden, the breach originated when a contractor clicked a malicious link via Microsoft’s Bing search engine. That initial compromise allowed attackers to gain access to Ascension’s Microsoft Active Directory system, which manages user authentication across the organization. The result was the exposure of sensitive health and insurance data of nearly 5.6 million individuals.
This is not the first time Wyden has criticized Microsoft’s handling of cybersecurity. He has previously highlighted the company’s role in other major incidents, including the 2023 SolarWinds breach linked to Chinese state-sponsored hackers.
The Senator claims Microsoft’s continued support for legacy encryption protocols, specifically RC4, enabled the attack vector used in the Ascension incident. Although RC4 has been widely deprecated in the security community, it remains an option in some Microsoft products. Wyden argues that Microsoft hasn’t done enough to phase it out or guide users toward safer alternatives.
According to Reuters, in response, Microsoft acknowledged that RC4 now accounts for less than 0.1% of its traffic and said it advises customers against its use. The company explained that a full disablement would disrupt many customer environments, but confirmed plans to turn off RC4 by default in certain Windows products starting early 2026. NSSF Statement on Assassination of Charlie Kirk
WASHINGTON, D.C. — NSSF®, The Firearm Industry Trade Association, joins the nation in grieving the loss of Charlie Kirk, Founder and CEO of Turning Point USA, struck down by an assassin during a public open appearance at Utah Valley University, in Orem, Utah. Kirk was a thought leader who peacefully challenged opposing viewpoints. But more than that, Kirk was a husband and father to two small children.
Kirk was a man who challenged ideas with ideas. He invited open debate with those who vehemently disagreed with him. He believed in free and spirited exchange of ideas and using words to reach millions of young adults across America’s college campuses. Kirk was also a man of deep-rooted and unapologetic faith in his Creator. He was dedicated to preserving and exercising our American rights granted by that Creator and guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution, including not just First Amendment rights of Free Speech but also Second Amendment rights to keep and bear arms.
This targeted assassination of Kirk, in what can only be understood as a measure to silence his voice and ideas, is vile. There is nothing – absolutely nothing – that could justify political violence against Kirk who sought to engage his fellow citizens in civil discourse. This assassin is the manifestation of evil and NSSF remains confident that local, state and federal authorities will find and bring this individual to justice.
Likewise, NSSF joins those who are repulsed by some who claim Kirk invited this senseless and cruel act of criminal violence, as well as some who celebrated it. We dedicate ourselves to honoring Kirk’s memory and legacy. We humbly pray for his young widow and children who will grow in their lives without their husband and father, taken so cruelly and senselessly by a politically-motivated assassin.
Today, we grieve. We also commit ourselves to advancing the principles which Kirk held dear, that freedom of thought and expression of rights cannot be compromised, that this nation is truly unique and preserving the nation’s liberties requires each of us to enter the arena. We are also committed to the principle that Kirk demonstrated to recognize, with the insight of the Creator who grants us our freedoms, the humanity of those around us – even those with whom we disagree.

Prior to this project, D&M built a multi-million-dollar ammunition facility in Ukraine for the Ukraine Defense Industry and has several other projects in the works there, including a primer facility.

Release of Smaller Loitering Munition Further Validates Large UAS as Motherships
SAN DIEGO – 10 September 2025 – General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) and AeroVironment (“AV”) (NASDAQ: AVAV) collaborated on the air launch of a Switchblade 600 loitering munition (LM) from a GA-ASI Block 5 MQ-9A unmanned aircraft system (UAS). The flight testing took place from July 22-24 at the U.S. Army Yuma Proving Grounds Test Range. It marked the first time a Switchblade 600 has ever been launched from an unmanned aircraft.
“This cooperative effort showcased how combining different unmanned technologies could really provide value and effects to the warfighter,” said GA-ASI President David R. Alexander. “By using MQ-9A to carry the Switchblade, the MQ-9A is able to stand off farther from enemy weapons systems and increase the range of the SB600, which will provide greater access and options in contested airspace.”
After successfully integrating the SB600 with the MQ-9A, the team released two LMs: one with an inert warhead and the other with a high-explosive round. After launch, the team transferred control of the Switchblade from a user in the MQ-9A’s ground control station to a user on the ground nearer the operational area.
The test further validated GA-ASI’s ability to integrate and operate a variety of airborne launched effects on the battlefield – including both those built by GA-ASI and by partners such as AV – and how their use in conflict provides risk-tolerant options to commanders in contested operations.
