Patented mount delivers ultra-low direct-mount depth with swap-anytime sight versatility.
Hardy, Va. (August 2026) – Accuracy X, Inc (AXI), the makers of the world’s proven most accurate pistols, has introduced the Multi-Sight™ MAX System, a patented optic-mounting platform that pairs the ultra-low profile of a direct mount with the durability and configurability the company has built its reputation on. The new system expands, rather than replaces, the original Multi-Sight System, which remains in production and fully supported.
Direct-mounting a red dot has traditionally forced shooters to trade away long-term reliability and versatility. The Multi-Sight MAX ends that compromise. At the core of the system is the company’s patented Index-Recoil Lug, engineered to absorb the shear forces that break fasteners, destroy optics, and shift zero. The result is absolute zero retention across repeated plate changes.
The system’s patent-pending Direct Depth Mounting System routes mounting screws directly into the slide instead of through a threaded plate, allowing Accuracy X to machine deeper pockets and seat optics lower than conventional direct mounts. The resulting height-over-bore is the lowest achievable on a pistol slide.
Configurability comes from the SLOT Sight™ System paired with a new Rapid Change Interface, which lets shooters swap front and rear sight blades, from suppressor height to compact co-witness, without removing the red dot. A front-mounted co-witness option addresses snag concerns raised by some law enforcement agencies, and an integrated, ambidextrous slide racker rounds out a competition-ready feature set.
The Multi-Sight MAX supports the three most popular optic footprints, the Leupold DeltaPoint Pro, Aimpoint ACRO, and Trijicon RMR, which together account for about 95 percent of red-dot sights in use. Additional modules and accessories are planned.

LEXINGTON, KY – August 18, 2026 – The National Law Enforcement Officer Hall of Fame (NLEOHOF) is now accepting nominations for its 2027 Hall of Fame Induction Class, recognizing extraordinary law enforcement officers whose courage, service, leadership and lasting impact exemplify the very best of the profession.
Nominations are open now through October 31, 2026, and may be submitted at nationalleohalloffame.com.
The 2027 induction will mark an exciting new chapter for the National Law Enforcement Officer Hall of Fame as the organization brings its annual ceremony to Lexington, Kentucky, with GALLS continuing its support as the Hall of Fame’s presenting sponsor.
The 2027 National Law Enforcement Officer Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be held June 12, 2027, at Central Bank Center in Lexington. The move represents the Hall of Fame’s continued national growth and its commitment to creating a lasting home for honoring the men and women whose service has made an extraordinary impact on their communities and the law enforcement profession.

A professional-grade belt holster hand-molded by Galco’s experienced craftsmen to fit specific handguns, the updated 2.0 design is cut to accommodate most carry-style optics while working equally well with iron-sighted pistols. The jacket’s pocket placement is also expertly envisioned. Each of the three pockets is placed for accessibility in the saddle: one angled zippered chest pocket and two midbody zippered pockets.

The pants are equally specialized. Firstly, you have four front-facing pockets for storage and quick access in the saddle: two open waist pockets and a pair of zippered thigh pockets. While on the topic of zippers, the pant sports knee-high leg zippers for easy on/off in the field – boots on.
Next, the defining feature of the Saddle Hunter Pro happens at the knees. ScentLok articulated the knees to endorse motion and prevent the legs from hiking up when you sit. Articulated knees are a design feature where the fabric at the knee is shaped and seamed to match the natural bend of the leg.

Small drones are becoming faster, more autonomous, and increasingly resistant to traditional countermeasures. Many counter-drone systems rely on electronic jamming or cyber techniques, but these approaches can be less effective against autonomous platforms or drones operating in electronically contested environments. As swarm attacks become a growing concern, defense developers are exploring kinetic solutions capable of physically neutralizing large numbers of aerial threats.
A new counter-drone platform (called Iron Rain by ARCYN Defense) has been designed around that concept. Rather than attempting to disrupt a drone’s communications or navigation, the system uses a high-rate-of-fire kinetic mechanism guided by edge artificial intelligence to engage and destroy incoming targets.
The platform combines a patent-pending firing mechanism with configurable projectiles optimized for counter-unmanned aircraft missions. According to NextGenDefense, at the heart of the system is edge AI, which processes sensor information locally to identify, track, and engage aerial threats in real time without depending on remote computing resources.
Processing information directly on the platform reduces response times while allowing the system to continue operating in environments where communications may be degraded or unavailable. This is particularly important when engaging multiple fast-moving targets simultaneously.
The developers envision the system as a complementary layer within broader counter-UAS architectures rather than a replacement for electronic warfare or missile-based defenses. By providing a kinetic engagement option, it is intended to counter autonomous drones, electronic warfare-resistant aircraft, and swarm attacks that may overwhelm conventional defenses.
From a defense perspective, kinetic counter-drone systems are receiving growing attention because they offer a direct means of defeating threats that cannot easily be jammed or spoofed. As autonomous navigation becomes more common, physically intercepting the aircraft itself may become increasingly necessary.
The system is also designed with portability and scalability in mind, enabling deployment in a variety of operational environments where rapid setup and sustained engagements are required.
Development of the platform is continuing through additional funding and collaborative research efforts, with field evaluations planned to assess performance under operational conditions. Researchers are also exploring integration opportunities that could allow the system to operate alongside existing air-defense networks.
As drone technology continues to evolve, layered defenses that combine electronic warfare, directed energy, and kinetic interception are becoming an increasingly important strategy. Systems that pair edge AI with rapid-response kinetic engagement represent one approach to addressing the growing complexity and scale of modern unmanned aerial threats.

WarBird Secures Three Soft Armor Certifications Under New NIJ 0101.07 Standard
Michigan-based manufacturer WarBird Protection Group leads the industry
with multiple models meeting the National Institute of Justice’s rigorous new benchmark.
KALKASKA, Mich. — August 12, 2026 — WarBird Protection Group Inc. has established itself at the forefront of ballistic compliance, securing three soft armor certifications under the National Institute of Justice’s new NIJ 0101.07 standard.
Out of the first 15 models certified industry-wide, WarBird’s lineup accounts for 20% of them, with one of the four certified HG1 models and two of the 11 certified HG2 models—reinforcing the company’s commitment to delivering cutting-edge, trusted protection for law enforcement and tactical professionals.
The achievement marks a significant milestone for WarBird Protection Group as the company brings more than 50 years of family armor-industry experience to a new generation of ballistic protection.
“After months of working through the certification process, receiving these certifications is a tremendous accomplishment for WarBird,” said Matt Davis, Founder and CEO of WarBird Protection Group. “Having three products certified under NIJ 0101.07 this early in the transition validates the work our team has put into designing armor specifically around the new standard. We believe agencies and end users should have access to armor that delivers the required protection without unnecessary weight and bulk.”
Three Models Certified to the New Standard.
WarBird now has three NIJ 0101.07-certified soft armor models: the Phenom HG2, Vanish HG2 and Vanish HG1. The Phenom and Vanish HG2 models are certified at the HG2 protection level, while the Vanish HG1 is certified at the HG1 protection level.
Of the 15 soft armor models currently certified to NIJ 0101.07, four are HG1 models and 11 are HG2 models. WarBird’s portfolio includes one of the four certified HG1 models and two of the 11 certified HG2 models.
Under NIJ 0101.07, HG1 and HG2 replace the previous Level II and Level IIIA classifications for handgun-resistant armor. HG2 represents the higher of the two handgun protection levels.
WarBird engineered its Phenom and Vanish systems around a simple objective:
- provide the required protection while making armor thinner, lighter and more
comfortable to wear.
- The Phenom HG2 weighs just 0.90 pounds per square foot and measures 0.22 inches thick. The Vanish HG1 weighs 0.82 pounds per square foot and measures 0.21 inches thick, while the Vanish HG2 weighs 1.09 pounds per square foot and measures 0.24 inches thick.
That focus on wearability is central to WarBird’s armor development philosophy. The company’s CORE Pattern System was developed using decades of experience, thousands of individual measurements and extensive wear testing to balance armor coverage with comfort. The company’s approach is based on the premise that armor can only provide its intended protection when users are willing and able to wear it consistently.
NIJ 0101.07 Raises the Standard.
The new NIJ 0101.07 standard represents a substantial evolution in ballistic armor testing. Developed to address advances in ballistic threats, materials and armor
design, the standard introduces new handgun and rifle protection classifications and updated testing requirements. NIJ 0101.07 uses HG1 and HG2 for handgun threats and RF1, RF2 and RF3 for rifle threats. The associated threat levels and ammunition are defined by NIJ 0123.00.
The standard also introduces significant changes to the evaluation of armor, including additional shot locations, enhanced conditioning and testing requirements, and updated methodologies for armor designed for female wearers. WarBird has specifically highlighted the new neckline shot requirement, which evaluates armor’s ability to stop a projectile impacting near the edge of the protected area at an angle.
The new standard is designed to better reflect the conditions armor can encounter in the field and provide end users with greater confidence in certified products.
For agencies, the transition also represents an important procurement consideration. NIJ maintains separate compliant product listings for the 0101.06 and 0101.07 standards, making it important for purchasers to understand exactly which standard a product has been certified under.
Although WarBird Protection Group is a relatively young brand, the company is built on more than 50 years of armor industry experience through the Davis family. That history provides the foundation for WarBird’s approach to developing modern personal protection equipment.
WarBird has made significant investment in its Michigan operations and manufacturing capabilities and is now fulfilling orders for this new generation of body armor products.
