Experience Extreme Long Range Shooting Like Never Before!

Longshot Cameras Powers the ELR Nationals in Partnership with ELR Alliance

Pearland, TX – October 2026 – Longshot Cameras will power the ELR Nationals, in partnership with the ELR Alliance, taking place October 23–24, 2026, in Shidler, Oklahoma. As the event’s primary target camera provider, Longshot technology will play a critical role in the competition, providing the live target views and immediate shot verification required to score the match in real time.
The ELR Nationals will bring together up to 60 competitors for five days of extreme long range competition. Registration is limited to 60 competitors, with an entry fee of $260.
Unlike traditional shooting competitions where scoring can often be determined by examining targets after a stage or relay, the ELR Nationals relies on live scoring and immediate verification of shots. At the extreme distances involved, physically observing impacts from the firing line can be extremely difficult, making reliable target cameras an essential part of the competition.
The match simply cannot be run without the target camera systems.
Longshot Cameras provide the real-time target views that allow match officials and competitors to immediately verify impacts and misses. The technology effectively brings the target back to the firing line, providing a clear visual record of what happens downrange and allowing scoring to take place as the competition unfolds.
For Longshot Cameras President Clay Rhoden, the partnership carries particular significance. Rhoden is not only the President of Longshot Cameras, but also an active competitive extreme long range shooter who understands firsthand the challenges involved in competing at these distances.
“This is a match that I care about personally because I compete in ELR myself,” said Rhoden. “When you’re shooting at extreme distances, you need to know what happened on that target. You can’t always see an impact through a spotting scope, and you can’t wait until later to figure it out. The match needs immediate verification to score the shots, and that’s where our cameras become an essential part of the process.”
The ELR Nationals will showcase some of the most demanding aspects of precision rifle shooting, with competitors and equipment being tested at extreme distances where small variables can have a significant effect on the outcome.
Longshot’s wireless target camera technology is designed specifically to address the challenges associated with long range shooting. The company’s systems transmit live video from downrange targets back to the shooter without relying on cellular service or existing Wi-Fi infrastructure.
For the ELR Nationals, that capability becomes more than a convenience. The live target feed is part of the match’s scoring process, providing the immediate visual confirmation necessary to determine whether a competitor has successfully connected with a target.
The technology also changes how the competition can be experienced by those watching. Instead of relying solely on distant views of shooters on the firing line, spectators and media can see what is happening at the target itself, including impacts and misses as they occur.
That perspective provides a better understanding of the difficulty and precision required to compete at extreme long range.
“Our cameras aren’t just there to make the match look better,” Rhoden added. “They’re there because the match depends on them. Being able to verify impacts instantly is critical to how the competition is scored. That’s something we’re proud to be a part of, especially because ELR is a discipline that I’m passionate about as a shooter.”
Longshot Cameras has continued to develop its camera systems and software around the needs of serious long range shooters. Its product line includes solutions for long range and extreme long range applications, with the LR-3 system designed for distances of up to two miles and capable of providing live target video without internet or cellular connectivity.
The Longshot App also provides shooters with tools for live target viewing, shot marking, group measurement, video recording and shot-string review, extending the usefulness of the system beyond competition and into training and practice.
The ELR Nationals will take place October 23–24, 2026, in Shidler, Oklahoma, with the field limited to 60 competitors.
