D&M Holding Company and DEMCO Sign Strategic Partnership Agreement at DSEI to Develop Propellant and Primer Production Facilities within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
TAMPA, FL (September 22, 2025) – D&M Holding Company, Inc. (D&M), the global leader in delivering complete solutions for ammunition, primer, and propellant manufacturing facilities, and DEMCO Holding Company (DEMCO), a Saudi Arabian defense company, signed a strategic partnership agreement at the General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI) pavilion during the Defense and Security Equipment International (DSEI 2025) event in London. The agreement focuses on developing, constructing, and commissioning state-of-the-art propellant and primer manufacturing facilities in Saudi Arabia.
Under the agreement, D&M and DEMCO will collaborate to deliver single-base and double-base propellant factories as well as a modern primer manufacturing facility to support Saudi Arabia’s defense industrialization goals. The agreement combines DEMCO’s local market knowledge and regulatory expertise with D&M’s technical and project-delivery capabilities.
“We look forward to working closely with our partners to transfer expertise and build sustainable, locally operated facilities that meet Saudi Arabia’s strategic requirements,” said Dan Powers, President and CEO, D&M Holding Company.
The facilities will produce propellants and primers for small, medium, and large caliber ammunition.

The US Air Force is advancing efforts to enable drone swarms to operate in environments where satellite navigation is denied or jammed. A recent request for information (RFI) from the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) outlines plans to develop high-precision timing systems that allow unmanned aerial systems (UAS) to coordinate without depending on the Global Positioning System (GPS).
At the core of the project is a system known as the Joint Multi-INT Precision Reference (JMPR), designed to integrate Next Generation Atomic Clock (NGAC) technology. The aim is to achieve picosecond-level timing stability and sub-nanosecond accuracy, allowing distributed drone networks to synchronize movements, communications, and data sharing in contested environments.
AFRL is focused on developing a decentralized PNT (Position, Navigation, and Timing) architecture, where drones can generate local timing references using onboard sensors and maintain formation by syncing with nearby aircraft. The concept allows drones to establish spatial awareness and improve accuracy as more systems connect.
This capability becomes especially relevant in light of recent conflicts, where GPS jamming and spoofing have disrupted operations. Russian forces in Ukraine and Chinese developments in electronic warfare have demonstrated how dependent current systems are on satellite-based navigation. The proposed solution would enable drones to remain operational even in highly contested or jammed environments.
The Air Force has outlined several technical goals for the program:

Sub-nanosecond timing accuracy to enable real-time synchronization across swarms

Resilience against electronic interference, especially GPS disruption

Scalability to support swarms ranging from a few drones to several hundred
-
Strict SWaP (Size, Weight, and Power) compliance for integration into small platforms

Support for mission-critical functions such as sensor fusion, targeting coordination, and distributed intelligence sharing
This effort could have direct implications for both offensive and defensive drone swarm tactics. Precision-timed operations would allow swarms to function as cohesive systems, rather than as loosely coordinated individual drones.

GA-ASI LINE OF UAS PASSES 9 MILLION FLIGHT HOURS
SAN DIEGO – 21 September 2025 – Ongoing flight operations of the new YFQ-42A Collaborative Combat Aircraft helped General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc., set a new company record this week, pushing past a total of 9 million flight hours.
GA-ASI has been tracking total flight hours across its fleet of unmanned aerial systems since the company’s inception 33 years ago. Its line of UAS includes iconic aircraft such as the Predator®, Reaper®, Gray Eagle®, Avenger®, and MQ-9B SkyGuardian®/SeaGuardian®
“What an amazing moment,” said GA-ASI President David R. Alexander. “Having spent so much time supporting the U.S. military and its allies around the world with our other aircraft, it seems fitting that flight testing our new unmanned fighter jet for the U.S. Air Force was what helped bring us past this milestone as we look ahead to a program that will change air dominance again.”
YFQ-42A’s ongoing flights are only part of GA-ASI’s unmanned operations. At any point in time, as many as 50 GA-ASI aircraft are in flight supporting global security for U.S. and allied users worldwide.
GA-ASI’s aircraft have been a mainstay for the United States, allies and partners since the first flight of what was then called the RQ-1 Predator on July 3, 1994. The U.S. Air Force changed the designation to MQ-1 Predator in 2002. Other aircraft, including the MQ-1C Gray Eagle, MQ-9A Reaper, and MQ-20 Avenger, followed as GA-ASI drove forward the capabilities and employment of uncrewed aircraft.
More recently, GA-ASI has begun deliveries of its new MQ-9B SkyGuardians and SeaGuardians. MQ-9B is the world’s most advanced Remotely Piloted Aircraft System, delivering exceptionally long endurance and range — with automatic takeoff and landing under pole-to-pole satellite-only control — and will be able to operate in unsegregated airspace using the GA-ASI-developed Detect and Avoid system.
GA-ASI has made deliveries to the U.K.’s Royal Air Force (Protector) and the Belgian Air Force, and are fulfilling orders from Canada, Denmark, Poland, Japan, Taiwan, India, and the U.S. Air Force in support of the Special Operations Command. MQ-9B has also supported various U.S. Navy exercises, including Northern Edge, Integrated Battle Problem, and Group Sail.
Meanwhile the company has been supporting the development of new aircraft and concepts of operation for the future of airpower. GA-ASI built and flies the XQ-67A Off Board Sensing Station – its second uncrewed combat jet – for the U.S. Air Force Research Lab. Just last month, GA-ASI announced the start of flight testing for its third, the new YFQ-42A Collaborative Combat Aircraft. The new unmanned fighter jet has been designed and developed by GA-ASI and is built for rapid production, in large quantities, at an affordable price.

Minden, Nev. – September 19, 2025 – Franklin Armory®, one of America’s leading manufacturers of innovative firearms and accessories, issued the following statement today regarding Franklin Armory’s Antithesis™ line of short-barreled firearms:
Last night, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) requested that we voluntarily bring back all 5.56 caliber Antithesis firearms in advance of the agency issuing a new classification. We were surprised by this in light of the U.S. District Court’s ruling in FRAC v. Bondi.
Out of an abundance of caution and for the well-being of consumers, dealers, and distributors, we are voluntarily requesting all of our customers to return their 5.56 caliber Antithesis firearms for a full refund.
We encourage customers who have taken possession of an Antithesis firearm to contact Franklin Armory Customer service for an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) and shipping label. This return does not affect Reformation, the .410/45LC Antithesis, or any other firearm made by Franklin Armory.
As Facilitators of Freedom, we are actively raising our concerns with various entities within Congress and the Trump Administration. We are also hopeful that continued negotiations with ATF can arrive at a solution that avoids litigation if at all possible.
Be assured, this will not be the final chapter on Antithesis.

New “Partner with a Payer” Video Spotlights Conservation Impact at Hornady and 4-H Shooting Sports Nationals
NSSF, Hornady Manufacturing, AFWA and USFWS highlight how industry-agency collaboration supports America’s wildlife and fuels the future of outdoor traditions.
GRAND ISLAND, NE — NSSF®, The Firearm Industry Trade Association, in collaboration with the Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies (AFWA), the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) and Hornady Manufacturing, has released a new video titled “Funding Conservation for Future Generations.” The piece captures a recent “Partner with a Payer®” event hosted in Grand Island, Nebraska — a powerful showcase of the vital role firearm and ammunition manufacturers play in helping to fund wildlife conservation and outdoor recreation nationwide.
The event coincided with the 4-H Shooting Sports National Championships and brought together state fish and wildlife agencies, conservation leaders and industry partners. Attendees toured Hornady’s manufacturing facility to see firsthand how federal excise taxes paid under the Federal Aid in Wildlife Restoration Act (commonly known as the Pittman-Robertson Act) support on-the-ground conservation efforts. These taxes — collected on firearms, ammunition and archery equipment — have generated more than $17.7 billion since 1937 (over $28 billion when adjusted for inflation) to fund habitat restoration, public shooting ranges, hunter education and wildlife research in all 50 states.
Jason Hornady, Vice President of Hornady Manufacturing, emphasized the importance of transparency and education around how this funding system works. “Opening our doors to agency partners helps them understand the full cycle — from manufacturing, to federal excise tax, to on-the-ground conservation,” said Hornady. “We’re proud to contribute to conservation through Pittman-Robertson.”
The 4-H Shooting Sports National Championships provided a meaningful backdrop, showcasing youth from across the country competing in shooting sports — a tradition made possible through the very funding discussed at the event. This alignment underscores how federal excise taxes don’t just support wildlife and habitat, but also nurture the next generation of responsible hunters, shooters and conservationists.
“That funding is very important,” said Scott Stuhr, National 4-H Shooting Sports Program Coordinator. He continued, “those are the dollars that get to come back to the states to help develop ranges and to help develop these youth programs where we have these great opportunities to take those examples and all those funding mechanisms and help these youth get started.”
The “Partner with a Payer” initiative continues to strengthen the American System of Conservation Funding by fostering collaboration among manufacturers, state and federal agencies and conservation The Grand Island event provided an invaluable opportunity for dialogue, learning and collaboration — all in support of protecting our nation’s wildlife and expanding opportunities for recreational shooting and hunting for generations to come.

Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation Programs Partner with NSSF’s First Shots
WASHINGTON, D.C. — NSSF®, The Firearm Industry Trade Association, is pleased to announce that the Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation’s Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP) and Scholastic Action Shooting Program (SASP) have become official partners of NSSF’s First Shots®. First Shots is the introductory and refresher target-shooting program made available through host target-shooting ranges across the country.
Under the Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation’s administration, SCTP and SASP are national youth development programs that build marksmanship skills and enjoyment of recreational shooting. The programs, which serve tens of thousands of participants, rely on adult coaches and other volunteers who use the shooting sports to teach sportsmanship, responsibility, honesty, ethics, integrity, teamwork and other positive life skills.
NSSF has a shared history with the SCTP, having launched the program in 2001 as a competitive trap shooting activity that quickly expanded to include skeet and sporting clays. In 2007, the Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation was established as the governing body to oversee SCTP. The SASP program soon followed with action shooting on steel targets with pistols and rifles, later adding 10m air rifle and 10m air pistol shooting for youth competitors.
“Given NSSF’s longstanding connection with scholastic shooting, it’s gratifying to see these partnerships with SCTP and SASP—programs that have done so much to popularize youth target shooting and firearm safety across the country,” said Zach Snow, NSSF Director, Member Development.
“The Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation’s approach of teaching young athletes about safe and responsible firearm handling and introducing them to clay target, handgun and rifle shooting sports aligns perfectly with First Shots’ mission of supervised introductions,” said Rick Leach, SSSF’s Executive Director. “This is a mutually beneficial partnership if I ever saw one.”
As part of its partnership, the Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation will encourage teams to use First Shots to introduce newcomers to the challenge and fun of recreational shooting. First Shots will serve as a recruitment, community outreach and potential fundraising tool for participating teams.
In addition to its student-athletes enjoying shooting competitions for all skill levels, SCTP and SASP serve as feeder programs for national governing bodies like USA Shooting, National Skeet Shooting Association, National Sporting Clays Association and the Amateur Trapshooting Association.
NSSF invites other organizations associated with the shooting sports and industry to consider becoming a First Shots partner. RAFAEL & Israel MOD: IRON BEAM 450 Development Completed, Delivery to IDF Soon
The R&D Unit within the Israel Ministry of Defense (IMOD) Directorate of Defense Research & Development (DDR&D), the Israeli Air Force (IAF), and Rafael Advanced Defense Systems have successfully completed a series of tests lasting several weeks, demonstrating the capabilities of the Iron Beam high-power laser system.
The test series, conducted at a facility in southern Israel, concludes the development phase and represents the final milestone before delivering the system to the IDF for operational deployment. The system proved its effectiveness in a complete operational configuration by intercepting rockets, mortars, aircraft, and UAVs across a comprehensive range of operational scenarios. The successful trials mark a critical milestone towards operational deployment, with the first systems set to be integrated into the IDF air defense arrays by year-end.
Iron Beam is a ground-based high-power laser air defense system designed to counter aerial threats, including rockets, mortars, and UAVs. It features an advanced targeting system that enables enhanced operational range, high precision, and superior efficiency while maintaining its unique advantage of rapidly neutralizing threats using laser technology at negligible cost. The R&D Unit within the Ministry’s DDR&D has spearheaded the system’s development, working alongside primary developer Rafael, with Elbit serving as a partnering subcontractor for the laser source.
The Iron Beam system represents a global technological and engineering breakthrough, expected to integrate into Israel’s multi-layered defense array as a complementary capability to the Iron Dome, David’s Sling, and Arrow air defense systems. The system utilizes Rafael’s unique “adaptive optics” technology, enabling a stable, focused, and precise beam.
As announced last May, operational prototypes of Rafael’s short-range tactical laser systems have been deployed throughout the current war and have successfully intercepted and defeated dozens of threats. Now that the Iron Beam’s performance has been proven, we anticipate a significant leap in air defense capabilities through the deployment of these long-range laser weapon systems.
