Are Rifle Optics Where You Want Your Company To Be?

Image result for rifle scopes

Are Rifle Optics Where You Want Your Company To Be? It sure a heck is, as you can see by reading the excerpt from ASD Reports Riflescope Market – Global Forecast to 2022 below. Analysts are forecasting an annual growth rate of 4.24% through 2022, which combined with the typical margins available to manufacturers and retailers in optics, should prove to be very interesting. Driving the growth is increasing shooting sports activities including hunting. In 2015 major firearms manufacturers produced 2,796,873 rifles accounting for 43% of total firearms produced by major manufacturers in the United States, and there’s every reason to believe that production of rifles will be even higher in 2016.

“The riflescope market is estimated to grow from USD 5.36 billion in 2016 to USD 6.87 billion in 2022, at a CAGR of 4.24% during the forecast period. Increase in the popularity of hunting activities and shooting games is expected to drive the riflescope market. The riflescope market is expected to witness technological advancements for application in the military. The advent of night vision scopes has led to an increase in the use of riflescopes in military, by law enforcement agencies and Special Forces. However, high cost of riflescopes and ban on hunting in some countries of the Asia-Pacific region are the major restraints in the growth for the riflescope market.”
”On the basis of application, the hunting segment accounted for the largest share of the riflescope market in 2016. Hunting is popular in North America and Europe. Governments in these regions issue hunting licenses for different seasons. The growth of the population of certain animal species have driven governments to encourage animal hunting to control their population. However, countries in the Asia-Pacific region such as India and China prohibit animal hunting.”

Brownells, ASA to Sound Off About the Hearing Protection Act In Facebook Live Event

Grinnell, Iowa – Brownells will make some noise about suppressors, and host American Suppressor Association President Knox Williams in a Facebook Live event on March 14, at 7:00 pm CST.

Viewers will be able to submit questions, comment and interact on the Brownells Facebook Page during the event, and learn more about the Hearing Protection Act and suppressors.

Currently in committees in both the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate, the Hearing Protection Act, or HPA, would make the following changes to Federal law:

  • Remove suppressors from the National Firearms Act
  • Eliminate the $200 transfer tax per suppressor
  • Make purchasing a suppressor exactly like buying a gun, with a simple NICS check

The American Suppressor Association advocates for the suppressor industry and works to educate the public about the benefits of suppressor use. The ASA also lobbies for suppressor-friendly legislation.

“It’s an honor to be invited to join Brownells for the Facebook Live event on the 14th,” said ASA President Knox Williams. “I am incredibly excited for the opportunity to interact with the public while discussing the Hearing Protection Act, as well as our state level pro-suppressor advocacy. If you’re interested in the facts about where the HPA stands, and want to know what you can do to help make it a reality, tune in and take action.”

“We have a great opportunity right now to go on the offensive,” said Brownells CEO Pete Brownell. “Passing the HPA is a great way to regain ground. It’s going to take equal, if not more effort to get this through both the House and Senate. Now’s the time to make your voice heard to your representatives.”

The Numbers Are In

Readers we made it through another week, and as you know, Friday is when we try to publish a shoot the shit topic for your reading enjoyment. For new readers, a shoot the shit topic can be anything that comes to mind. As a reader, you can make any unsupported comment, use uncensored profanity, insult anyone you wish or change the subject altogether.

This Friday, we had a couple of competing ideas:

  1. The Carl’s Jr. BBQ Commercial
  2. Is Fox News’ Bret Baier really a Vulcan dressing like Ed Henry?

We set these aside and instead decided to contribute to your knowledge base by presenting, in a succinct and orderly manner, some interesting industry details.

Have you ever wondered who did what to whom in firearms manufacturing?

The table below is based on 2015 data and captures firearm types produced by each manufacturer for the year. Sturm Ruger came in first with a total of 1.7 million firearms produced for the year. Smith & Wesson was the king of the pistol and revolver production. Remington Arms took the rifle category and was second in the shotgun category to Mossberg. The numbers presented below do not include firearms manufactured by small manufacturers or boutique custom shops.

Manufacturer Pistols Revolvers Rifles Shotguns Total Volume
Sturm Ruger 748,364 256,185 662,444 827 1,667,820
Smith & Wesson 989,853 274,136 209,180 183 1,473,352
Remington Arms 36,049 0 774,180 333,442 1,143,671
Sig Sauer 459,655 0 36,563 0 496,218
Maverick / Mossberg 0 0 125,814 347,658 473,472
Savage Arms 0 0 381,695 13,161 394,856

Totals 2,486,066 530,321
2,796,873 695,271

Of all firearms manufacturer in 2015, by firms listed in the table above, rifles accounted for 43% of all guns made; followed by pistols at 38% , shotguns account for 11% and revolvers 8%.

Knife Robot®: The First Knife Sharpener with a Serious Edge over the Competition

The Knife Robot, available in two versions; portable and built-in, brings high-tech, auto knife sharpening to the home, workshop, outdoors or professional kitchen. Pre-orders now available on Indiegogo.

Knife Robot Portable Knife Sharpener

Redwood City, Cal. (March 2017) – Finally, a company has taken the guess work out of knife sharpening and eliminated dull and misaligned blades with the patented automatic Knife Robot®, the world’s first no-hands, no-holding, no wasting time knife sharpener. Pre-orders for both versions of the Knife Robert are available atIndiegogo until April 5 for all 2017 orders.

Producing a good, sharp edge on a knife is a must for anyone whose hobby or job requires a sharp and durable blade. From home cooks, hobbyists, outdoorsmen and women and professional chefs, the Knife Robot takes the guess work and the physical work out of knife sharpening. With the hands-off mechanism, the knife is inserted and the Knife Robot does all the work in about 5 minutes.

The Knife Robot has seven motors that sense the knife shape in 4 DoF (degrees of freedom forward, backward, side to side) and with its precision sander it detects the burrs, removing them based on custom input of angle, speed, and pressure. The portable version for home cooks and hobbyists allows you to choose the sander motor speed and the angle (10 to 45 degrees per side). You can also choose a different angle on each side and the amount of pressure (light, medium, hard belt pressure), and watch on the portable’s screen courtesy of a microscopic camera.

A built-in version for professional kitchens (home, caterer, institution and restaurant) takes up minimal counter space with the sharpening kit built within the storage or cupboard area. It features an easy to use start and stop button, provides storage for all of your knives and automatically resharpens them based on usage.

Now, until April 5, 2017, customers can order Knife Robot on Indiegogo at an incredible savings of over half off retail price. The first 100 customers can purchase a Portable Knife Robot for only $279 with an estimated delivery of October of 2017. C-SOCC Is Talk of the Town

Netherland SOF

It’s Friday and time for our weekly shoot the shit. We are so damned sick of hearing Democrats trying to undermine the Executive Branch that we decided to talk about a positive development committed to paper on 16 Feb 2017 in Brussels.

In what appears to be a restructuring of the EU’s special operations forces, three countries, Belgium, Denmark and The Netherlands signed a letter of intent to establish a Composite Special Operations Component Command (C-SOCC). The new organization has all of the characteristics of our own JSOC; combining the Special Operations capabilities of three EU countries under one central command structure.

During a signing ceremony, NATO Deputy Secretary General Rose Gottemoeller welcomed the initiative as timely and valuable. “This tri-national effort reflects the reality that Special Operations Forces today operate increasingly in a multinational context,” she said. “The ability to command our Special Forces effectively is as important as the forces themselves, and NATO has made it a priority”, Ms. Gottemoeller added.

The new command will be developed in line with NATO standards, leveraging the expertise of NATO’s Special Operations Headquarters in Mons, Belgium. While primarily intended for NATO operations, the command could support United Nations and other multinational operations.

We certainly view this as a positive move provided the inevitable kinks in Command and Control are worked out, but for now things are looking good for a more capable commitment and international SOF tasking.

Have a great weekend! Spend some quality time with your buds and family!

U.T.SEC – Unmanned Technologies & Security 2017: Premiere at the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg

Image result for UAV police

  • New exhibition and conference at the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg
  • Focus on security topics
  • Partner entities UAV DACH and the Association for Security Technology (VfS)Focus on security topics.

Security using drones, and security against drones, are the focus of the U.T.SEC – Unmanned Technologies & Security Expo & Conference, on 2-3 March 2017, NCC West, Exhibition Centre Nuremberg. The two days of the event will deal in detail with both technical and legal aspects of this subject. The official partners for the exhibition and conference are UAV DACH e.V., the German umbrella association for unmanned air transport in Europe, and VfS, the Association for Security Technology.

UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) or UAS (Unmanned Autonomous Systems), known collectively as “drones”, are a forward-looking topic of interest, with all the opportunities and risks that new technologies imply. Although most familiar from the military and hobby fields until now, unmanned systems offer major potential for increasing security and protecting human life, e.g. through monitoring, checking and inspecting traffic, infrastructure and plant in industry and the energy sector, or through use by the police, fire brigade, disaster relief and other emergency services.

At the same time, however, there are legal and technical questions about ensuring protection against the unauthorized and potentially dangerous use of drones. U.T.SEC, at the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg, is the world’s first exhibition and conference to focus on this subject area. The event is aimed mainly at trade visitors from the areas of public security, emergency services, industry, energy and forestry, and also factory and plant protection.

The products and services exhibited by U.T.SEC comprise unmanned air and land-based vehicles, the associated equipment, and also jamming devices to defend against drones. Trade and professional associations, authorities and specialist media will also provide information about legal and insurance matters.

The production-ready model of the h-aero one, by start-up company Hybrid-Airplane Technologies GmbH of Baden-Baden, will be on show for the first time at U.T.SEC. This patented, unmanned flying machine was developed by aerospace engineer Dr. Csaba Singer in collaboration with Stuttgart University, and combines the functions of an aircraft, helium balloon and helicopter. It is powered by two electric motors that can draw their power entirely from solar cells. Potential applications include use as a monitoring platform, for camera travel or as a vehicle to carry measuring devices. At a later stage it is also intended to help to make communications networks available at short notice. NASA has already shown interest, as part of a project for bird’s-eye exploration of Mars.

Top-level expert discussion: U.T.SEC Conference

The conference program for both days of the event is divided into two sections, with a total of 25 presentations. The conference will be opened at 9:30 a.m. on 2 March 2017 by Franz Josef Pschierer, Under-Secretary in the Bavarian State Ministry for Economic Affairs and Media, Energy and Technology; Uwe Nortmann, Managing Director of UAV DACH e.V.; and Wilfried Joswig, CEO of the Association for Security Technology (VfS).

The first section, “Deployment and defense against unmanned technologies”, provides a comprehensive overview of various potential applications of unmanned systems for security-related tasks. A wide range of potential applications will be presented, from the transportation of drugs and stored blood, to use in open-cast mining and disaster zones and in maintaining urban security. Specialist speakers will also deal in depth with detecting and defending against drones, and will highlight both technical and legal possibilities in this area.

“UAS as a security focus”, will deal with questions such as “How do UASs influence security strategies for users, e.g. in the transport sector, industry and penal institutions?” “Where is there a practical benefit in using drones to secure critical infrastructure, and where not?” and “What should security heads be prepared for in terms of usability or user-friendliness vs. legal and technical challenges with the use of detection systems?

Three exhibitions in a short timeframe

U.T.SEC 2017 focuses on the technical opportunities for improving security using unmanned systems, and protection against the undesired use of such systems, at civilian, industrial and State levels. The range of services extends from unmanned systems to communications, data transmission, positioning, IT, perimeter protection, electronic fencing, optics, optronics, lighting and defense against UAVs.

Because there are some overlaps between the target groups, e.g. police and the forestry industry, this new event will run partly in parallel with two other important exhibitions at the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg. The first is Enforce Tac, the international exhibition for command, control and operational equipment used by security agencies, on 1-2 March, and the second is IWA Outdoor Classics, the leading international exhibition for hunting and shooting sports, outdoor equipment and equipment for civilian and official security requirements, which will immediately follow between 3 and 6 March.

February 27, 2017. Meprolight Ltd. – a leading manufacturer of electro-optical systems, thermal and night vision equipment, Self-Illuminated sights, and Laser Range Finder systems for military, law enforcement and civil applications – launches a unique red dot micro sight with quick release and backup night sights. The MEPRO MicroRDS is designed for pistols, rifles, and shotguns. The Company is expanding its operations in the European civilian market with its MEPRO MicroRDS, MEPRO RDS Red Dot Sight, and MEPRO FT BULLSEYE self-illuminated pistol sight.

According to Benny Kokia, VP Marketing & Sales, “We are pleased to expand our operations in the European shooting enthusiasts market, and to take this opportunity to introduce our new product, which is the only one of its kind in the world – the MEPRO MicroRDS. Whether on pistols or rifles, the sight delivers a Red Dot solution that enables quick and accurate shooting.”

The MEPRO MicroRDS – the latest addition to the MEPRO RDS family – is small, rugged, and energy efficient, with a clear aiming point for all light conditions, and a large display window. For pistols, it serves as the main aiming sight, offering fast target acquisition at close distances. It fits a large variety of handguns thanks to its patented quick release mounting (MEPRO MicroRDS adaptor). The adaptor allows the use of an optical sight alongside a backup tritium sight. There is no need to replace the gun’s slide or to drill holes to install the optical sight. For rifles, it serves as a backup sight for close distances, while the main sight covers medium and long distances.

MEPRO_RDS_TACTICAL-small

Kokia continued, “The European civilian market is an important market for us. During the first stage, we’ll market a limited number of products, but the goal is to expand and to offer European customers all of our product lines. As an established market in the area of hunting and civilian shooting – we are convinced that shooting enthusiasts will appreciate the benefits of our products, which offer high quality at competitive prices.”

The company is expanding its operations in the European market with the MEPRO RDS electro-optical red dot sight and MEPRO FT BULLSEYE.

The MEPRO RDS is an energy-efficient, compact, and rugged sight that provides thousands of operating hours while utilizing a single “AA” commercial battery. With its large display window and clearly-defined red dot, the MEPRO RDS ensures rapid target acquisition with both eyes open. Offering numerous easily switchable reticle brightness intensities, the MEPRO RDS fits every hunting scenario, and is compatible with GEN II and GEN III NVGs as well as magnifying scopes. The MEPRO RDS is a civilian of the Mil Spec MEPRO M5, used by the Israel Defense Forces.

The MEPRO FT BULLSEYE is an extremely small, low profile, optical pistol sight. Similar to reflex sights, it provides the shooter with an aim point in the form of an illuminated dot and circle bullseye, enabling intuitive and fast target acquisition. The MEPRO FT BULLSEYE allows instant and accurate shooting in all lighting conditions with no batteries needed. The sight – which fits most existing holsters – needs no front sight and can be easily installed on an existing pistol dovetail.

Enforce Tac 2017 in Nuremberg: Better equipment for greater security

EnforceTac_2016_Logo_farbig_positiv_CMYK

  • 6th specialized exhibition for security experts from official agencies
  • Significant growth: exhibitors +41%, display area +78%
  • Accompanying conferences

Increasingly more ruthless violent criminals and the growing threat from terror groups with a global reach mean that official security forces are finding it more and more challenging to fulfill their main duty of protecting the public. To enable security agencies to continue to do their job properly it is absolutely essential for them to have state-of-the-art equipment. On 1 and 2 March 2017, Enforce Tac – International Exhibition & Conference for Law Enforcement, Security and Tactical Solutions, will showcase the latest ultra-modern equipment for official security forces at Exhibition Centre Nuremberg. The range of products exhibited will be complemented by two conferences for police and official security experts. The patron of the event is Joachim Herrmann, Bavarian Minister for the Interior.

At the sixth round of Enforce Tac, 214 exhibitors (151 in 2016) will showcase guns and ammunition for official agencies, ballistic accessories, optics and optronics, communications technology, tactical equipment and vehicles and PPE like bulletproof vests, body armor, face protection, shields and helmets. The display area for Enforce Tac has grown by 78 per cent compared with the previous year, meaning that the range of products exhibited is bigger than ever.
Because it is a specialist trade fair, entry to Enforce Tac is restricted to representatives of relevant authorities like the police force, law enforcement agencies, border protection agency, customs and military police/armed forces and authorized wholesalers with the appropriate credentials.

European Police Trainer Conference and German Police Academy Conference

Alongside the range of products exhibited at Enforce Tac, the European Police Trainer Conference (EPTK) and “Weapons and Equipment” Conference hosted by the German Police Academy Münster offer two further opportunities for specialist information and professional development as well as knowledge-sharing among international peers.
PiD – Police Trainers in Germany – hosts the EPTK conference in collaboration with NürnbergMesse. At the two-day conference, the latest developments, techniques and technologies are explored in a series of specialist presentations, while training units allow them to be tested out in practical exercises. The topics covered by this year’s conference include operational tactics in the event of killing rampages and suicide attacks as well as unmanned aviation vehicles and the use of vehicles as cover.
The German Police Academy Conference, which takes place in Nuremberg every two years, will be devoted to innovations for day-to-day policing and the safe handling of service firearms.

A Recent Military Contract has Sparked Further Safety Concerns About the Fire-lighting Fuel Hexamine.

fd poster (2480 x 1754)

Hexamine is a fire-lighting fuel used by outdoor enthusiasts and the military to cook their food and warm their drinks.  The health risks linked with using hexamine-based fuels resulted in the UK Ministry of Defence leading the way in trialing and adopting a new eco-friendly fuel called ‘FireDragon’ for their field cooking.

Over the years, many soldiers from around the world have complained of the harmful and nasty effects of using hexamine fuel.  Laboratory trials have shown that Hexamine gives off high volumes of cyanide and formaldehyde,  which in confined spaces can prove fatal.  Soldiers have complained of  suffering from headaches after inhaling the fumes produced when burning hexamine.  Some were also hospitalized.

The British Army recently conducted laboratory testing and extensive field trials, comparing five alternative fuels and cooking systems with the old in service hexamine fuel and cooker.

The trials proved conclusively that the best fuel was found to be the new FireDragon fuel manufactured by BCB International Ltd, a well-established South Wales manufacturer of survival equipment.

BCB boss, Andrew Howell, explained how the FireDragon fuel was invented:

“I recognized the need for a cleaner environmentally-friendly fuel for both Defence Forces as well as camping and outdoor enthusiasts worldwide.”

“I laid out the parameters I wanted in such a fuel: clean, quick burn time, easy to use, safe to handle and transport and to use ethanol, which I knew was an eco-friendly fuel source.”

“With this, I tasked the Chemistry department of the local university and amazingly after about 6 months of trial and error we hit on the magic formula (number 47) which is now in full scale production here in South Wales.

“An added benefit which we had not appreciated at the time of development,  was that the FireDragon fuel blocks can also be used as a waterless soap; hence you can clean your hands prior to cooking and eating.  This will certainly help to reduce the number of stomach bugs, you quite often, get from cooking outdoors.”

BCB’s Chemist, Ben Harrison, stated:

“Cooking with FireDragon cuts the cooking time by half when compared to Hexamine.  The primary reason being that FireDragon releases the energy much quicker and more intensely than Hexamine.  It can also be  lit when wet and in the rain.”

With the market introduction of FireDragon, people don’t have to needlessly put their health at potential risk when cooking outdoors any longer.

Ritter & Stark GmbH to Exhibit at Enforce Tac, March 2017

Ritter & Stark will exhibit the SX-1 Modular Tactical Rifle at the International Exhibition & Conference for Law Enforcement, Security and Tactical Solutions in Nuremberg, Germany, March 1 – 2, 2017

Feistritz, Austria (February 2017) – Ritter & Stark GmbH, an Austrian-based firearms design and manufacturing company, will be exhibiting the SX-1 Modular Tactical Rifle (MTR) at Enforce Tac, March 1-2, 2017 in Nuremberg, Germany. Ritter & Stark’s SX-1 MTR has been met with universal acclaim as it’s been demonstrated around the world at many security, defense and law enforcement exhibitions. This January, it made its much anticipated American debut at SHOT Show and was a big hit with the American law enforcement and tactical community, as well as gun enthusiasts.

For the tactical operator the SX-1 MTR long-range precision rifle is an ideal weapon platform. The SX-1 MTR can quickly and easily change calibers between .308 Win, .300 Win Magnum and .338 Lapua Magnum. The MIL-STD 1913 Picatinny rail is installed directly on the barrel, allowing the user to interchange barrels with pre-set scopes without a loss of zero within minutes. The patented caliber conversion system assures that the barrel is precisely positioned in the machined aluminum receiver, allowing for a greater area of contact, resulting in increased stability. The bolt also locks directly into the barrel breech, which gives the SX-1 MTR unprecedented accuracy.

The SX-1’s modularity allows the utilization of different aftermarket magazines, triggers and grips providing tactical operators with the ability to customize the rifle to their specific body-type and mission.

For the professional military, security or police officer the most important attribute of a rifle is accuracy and Ritter & Stark delivers. Their barrels are guaranteed 100 percent accurate to at least 0.5 MOA for an industry leading 5,000 rounds in .308Win and .338LM and for 2,000 rounds in .300WM. Ritter & Stark’s SX-1 MTR’s accuracy is factory proven to be a consistent 0.5 MOA with 3-round groups or better using factory match grade ammunition.

At Enforce Tac, the latest in law enforcement equipment for 360° security will be on display for an international audience of security experts, police, customs, military police and armed forces. Enforce Tac grew from the Official Agencies Day at the start of the IWA Outdoor Classics exhibition. A growing interest from law enforcement and security in tactical equipment led to the development of Enforce Tac as a separate restricted exhibition and conference.

The Inner Workings Of A Suppressor

DSC_1623

There’s been a number of very good books written on the topic of suppressors. Some cover the historical development and every know application of suppressors; others, are simple non-technical but very useful presentations of what is on the market. I won’t subject you to any of that detail; instead, I’ll use the cross-section of a SIG silencer to convey the important points.

A suppressor is a tube designed to contain high pressure high speed propellant gases. A suppressor uses a combination of volume and baffles to cool and reduce the pressure of these gases as they move through the suppressor tube. High-speed, high-pressure gases escaping at the muzzle create a loud ear damaging blast.

As you look at the image of the cross section, the first thing you’ll notice is a large space at the entry point. This space is designed to allow the muzzle blast to rapidly expand; thereby, reducing its pressure and temperature.

The next thing gases encounter is the blast baffle. Each one of these coned shaped objects is a baffle. The Blast baffle’s job is to absorb the initial impact of the muzzle blast; therefore, it needs to be the most robust baffle. That robustness is accomplished by the manufacturer’s selection of materials and thickness relative to the other baffles. In a riffle the blast baffle is subjected to as much as 50,000 p.s.i. It’s the blast baffle does the heavy lifting.

Once propellant gases get past the blast baffle they encounter another space allowing them to expand further reducing pressure and temperature. Gases then encounter a second baffle which continues to disturb and provide resistance to propellant gases. This process continues all the way through the suppressor, with the net effect being taking the muzzle blast from 50,000 p.s.i. to 20 p.s.i. in a span of 8-10 inches or so. The benefit is the prevention of hearing loss.

WHY EXTREME VETTING IS NECESSRY

VX-S-enantiomer-3D-vdW.pngIt’s Friday and time for our weekly shoot the shit topic!

A shoot the shit is any event where the participants know very little about the topic(s) being discussion but it provides an opportunity for anyone to make unsupported statements, use profanity, insult anyone you wish or change the subject altogether. Shoot the shits are proven to have greater efficacy – if you don’t know what efficacy means you’re already screwed – than a paid session with an individual who studied a behavioral science so they could better understand themselves. Having said that we’ll move right into a very serious topic, the potential risk of a WMD attack in the USA and /or the EU.

The Malaysian government has determined that Kim Jong Un’s half-brother Kim Jong Nam, was murdered  by two women using VX. The women approached Kim Jong Nam from behind and applied the substance to his face. VX is more toxic than Sarin gas and the production and stockpiling of VX exceeding 100 grams per year per signatory was outlawed by the Chemical Weapons Convention of 1993. VX which can be dispensed as a liquid with the consistency of motor oil or as an aerosol is absorbed through the skin or the respiratory system. A mere 10 milligrams in the liquid form or  30–50 mg·min/m3 when inhaled are lethal. VX is also persistent meaning it lurks around for a long time which is the reason that it is considered to be an area denial weapon. VX is also odorless and colorless which means that it is not readily detectable.

Now, since VX is absorbed through the skin, you can assume that the two women were wearing latex gloves although this was not visible in the airport videos and it is also quite likely that they washed their hands with highly chlorinated water, which is the prescribed decontamination procedure.

The ease with which VX can be transported and deployed, along with the fact that you need very little of it should concern you, our legislators and our courts. Yet we find ourselves struggling with a crop of imbeciles of biblical proportions. Regrettably, the media is as useless as a pay toilet in a diarrhea ward. We’re not alarmists but if those two women can get access to VX in any form and successfully deploy it against a target gives me reason for concern and it should do the same for you. We live in precarious times readers but sadly we have legislators that clearly don’t have their minds and derrieres tightly coupled. If this isn’t an example of why we need extreme vetting, I don’t know what is!

Have a great weekend! Be safe, stay alert, keep the sweat pumps in low speed and spend some quality time with your buds and family.

BROWNELLS SUPPORTS H.R. 367 The Hearing Protection Act

Brownells_Header_2017

Americans won a great victory in the battle to restore and retain our Second Amendment rights for generations to come in the 2016 election.
With a pro-gun administration in the White House, and supportive majorities in both the House and Senate, it is time to go on offense; it’s time to reclaim and expand our freedoms.
The best way to accomplish that right now is to voice your support for H.R. 367 The Hearing Protection Act of 2017.
This act would make the purchase of a suppressor identical to the purchase of a rifle or a shotgun, eliminate the $200 transfer tax on firearm sound suppressors, and refund transfer taxes on any suppressor purchased after October 22, 2015.
What You Can Do…
Right now, the Hearing Protection Act is in the following committees:
U.S. House of Representatives
House Ways & Means Committee
House Judiciary Committee
U.S. Senate
Senate Finance Committee
The address we have on file for you indicates you live in a state with a representative or senator serving one of the above committees. Please reach out to your legislator and ask them to support the Hearing Protection Act.
Our friends at the American Suppressor Association have made it easy to do so. Simply clickHERE, fill in your data and click submit.
We appreciate your continued trust in Brownells, and your support for the unique freedoms we enjoy as Americans.

All The Best,

Pete & Frank Brownell
