Stingray is a safe, mild, and tender white fish with a subtle sweetness and richness similar to crab or scallops. Its texture is firm but delicate, often compared to scallops with a slight springiness that makes each bite memorable. Found in warm waters worldwide, stingray is a readily available and underrated catch.
Beyond its flavor, stingray is rich in Omega-3 fatty acids, which are known to support heart health, reduce inflammation, and enhance brain function. Stingray also contains phosphorus, which aids memory. Recent studies suggest stingray may even have cancer-fighting properties, making it a nutrient-dense choice both on your plate and in the water.
Preparing Stingray – Crucial Steps for Success
1. Barb Removal – Carefully remove the venomous barb from the tail immediately after catching it. Wear heavy gloves and use proper tools.
2. Clean & Skin – Rinse thoroughly. Use a sharp fillet knife to remove the tough skin from the wings.
3. Remove the Meat – Carefully fillet the edible “wing” meat away from the cartilage.
4. Tenderize – Soak the fillets in Hi Mountain Seasonings Gourmet Fish Brine (follow package instructions).

Ingredients
Stingray
Hi Mountain Seasonings Gourmet Fish Brine
Hi Mountain Seasoning Taco Seasonings
Favorite taco toppings (tomato, lettuce, shredded cheese, avocado, sour cream)
Directions
1. Cut and skin stingray wings
2. Prepare and apply the Gourmet Fish Brine according to the instructions.
3. Rinse the ray. Soak in water for 30 minutes. Rinse again and air dry for 1 hour.
4. Preheat pellet grill to 225 F.
5. Season with Hi Mountain Seasonings Taco Seasoning on all sides.
6. Smoke until the internal temperature reaches 145°F.
7. Let cool, then shred meat like pulled pork.
8. Mix in additional Taco Seasonings.
9. Sauté shredded meat briefly in olive oil until warm.
10. Build tacos with your favorite topping and enjoy!

U.S. ARMY AWARDS $4.9 MILLION CONTRACT FOR MORE FN^® M240L MEDIUM MACHINE GUNS

(McLean, VA — July 1, 2025) FN America, LLC is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a $4.9 million contract to supply the U.S. Army with additional FN^® M240L medium machine guns. The M240L was originally adopted by the U.S. Army in 2010, after a joint development effort with FN to create a lighter, yet durable, medium machine gun.

The M240L has been the cutting-edge for lightweight medium machine guns with an overall weight reduction of five pounds from its predecessor, the FN^® M240B, without any impact to performance or longevity. The 18 percent weight reduction was achieved by incorporating titanium into the design, including the receiver, and introducing new manufacturing methods to adjust for the material properties.

“The M240L continues the collaborative effort between FN, the U.S. Army and the individual soldier to provide the most effective weapon systems for the warfighter,” said Mark Cherpes, President and CEO for FN America, LLC. “The development saw the introduction of new materials along with new manufacturing techniques that have paved the way for the future generation of military equipment. We are extremely proud of this product and look forward to working with the U.S. Army to deliver against this contract.”

The M240 general purpose machine gun (7.62x51mm NATO), derived from the FN^® MAG 58, was adopted by the U.S. military in the late 1970s, and has been in continual service since being introduced. FN has created multiple variants of the M240, including the M240 coaxial, the M240B, M240L, M240D and M240H models.

Throughout its history, FN has been one of the largest suppliers of small arms to the U.S. military and continues to develop innovative, future technology. In addition to the M240 and its variants, the company currently holds contracts for the FN^® M249 lightweight machine gun; the FN^® MK 46, MK 48, MK 17 and MK 20 SSR for USSOCOM and various other contracts.

ASA, NRA, SAF, and FPC File Lawsuit Challenging Constitutionality of the NFA!

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, a coalition of four leading gun rights organizations comprised of the American Suppressor Association (ASA), Firearms Policy Coalition, National Rifle Association (NRA), and Second Amendment Foundation (SAF), announced the filing of Brown v. ATF a joint federal lawsuit in the Eastern District of Missouri challenging the constitutionality of the National Firearms Act (NFA). In 1937, the Supreme Court ruled that the NFA was primarily a revenue-generating measure and the registration requirements of the statute served to verify who had paid the required tax. With the tax rate of $0 as part of the One Big Beautiful Bill, the constitutionality of requiring suppressor owners to register with the federal government is no longer valid. This litigation joins Anderson v. Raoul, and Padua v. Platkin, the ASA Foundation and Silencer Shop—backed lawsuits challenging the constitutionality of the ban on suppressors in Illinois and New Jersey, at the forefront of pro-suppressor litigation.

SIG SAUER Experience Center Museum: Medal of Honor Recipient – Captain Larry L. Taylor Tribute

NEWINGTON, N.H., (July 31, 2025) – SIG SAUER, a leading American defense and outdoor products manufacturer, is proud to honor Medal of Honor Recipient Captain Larry L. Taylor with a tribute display at the SIG SAUER Experience Center Museum. The display was unveiled July 11, 2025, and will be showcased for a year before being transferred to the National Medal of Honor Heritage Center.

Captain Taylor served in Vietnam from August 1967 to August 1968 with D Troop (Air), 1st Squadron, 4th Cavalry, 1st Infantry Division as an Army aviator flying some of the first Bell AH1-G Cobra attack helicopters in combat. He flew over 2,000 combat missions in UH-1 and Cobra helicopters, was engaged by enemy fire 340 times, and forced down five times. He was awarded by the U.S. Army with at least 50 combat decorations, including the Silver Star, 43 Air Medals, a Bronze Star, and two Distinguished Flying Crosses. The Vietnamese Government also awarded Captain Taylor the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Bronze Star.
His most harrowing mission took place on June 18, 1968, when a four-man Long-Range Reconnaissance Patrol (LRRP) team was surrounded by enemies just northeast of Saigon, Vietnam. The team was in danger of being overrun by a larger Viet Cong force when 1st Lt. Larry Taylor and his co-pilot and gunner J.O. Ratliff flew a AH-G Cobra helicopter gunship to support them on the ground, making low-level attack runs for 45 minutes. The helicopters supporting the LRRP were almost out of ammunition, and due to lack of firepower protection the UH-1 “Huey” rescue helicopter was canceled. With the enemy closing in, Taylor knew he was the only way out for the four-man LRRP team. Operating on his own personal motto—“No man left behind”—Taylor decided to disobey direct orders to end the mission and landed the Cobra under heavy enemy fire with co-pilot and gunner J.O. Ratliff. The patrol team, including SGT David Hill, sat on the rocket-pods and skids; despite low fuel and nearly empty ammunition, Taylor carried them to safety.
For Captain Taylor’s profound altruism, the Army awarded him the Silver Star, upgraded in 2023 by President Joe Biden to the Medal of Honor. SIG SAUER is moved by Captain Taylor’s profound acts of courage and dedication to duty. Likewise, the Company was honored to host Sgt. David Hill, and CW02 J.O. Ratliff at the July 11th unveiling ceremony for the Captain Larry Taylor tribute display. The display includes:

CPT Taylor’s Medal of Honor and the issuing certificate;
CPT Taylor’s flight helmet and summer flying gloves;
A 1/35 scale diorama depicting the extraction; and
Numerous photographs donated by David Hill and J.O. Ratliff.

The case also includes a custom SIG SAUER Commemorative M17 pistol and walnut stand dedicated to CPT Taylor. SIG SAUER built Medal of Honor Commemorative pistols for all surviving recipients of this prestigious award. The pistols were hand crafted in collaboration with SIG SAUER Custom Works. Upon learning about Captain Taylor’s story, the SIG SAUER team was driven to honor his life with a tribute to his service and valor.

CLAYTON, MO (July 31, 2025) — Team Winchester and Team White Flyer locked up more wins on the world sporting clays stage at the 47th FITASC World Sporting Clays Championship, July 24-27, in Kornos, Cyprus.
Top Team Winchester finishes include:

Connor Daniel – FITASC World Junior Champion
Mike Wilgus – FITASC World Senior Champion
Joe Fanizzi – 4th in the FITASC World Open

“Congratulations to Connor Daniel on his second world champion title in two weeks and Mike Wilgus on his FITASC World Championship title,” said Jason Gilbertson, Senior Marketing Director for Winchester Ammunition. “The sporting clays schedule is grueling as you can see with two major World Championships only five days apart, yet our Team Winchester and Team White Flyer athletes show up and display the elite technique and focus they have worked to achieve.
