Winchester Ammunition Featured on Special Patriotic-Themed No. 3 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet
EAST ALTON, IL (May 21, 2025) — Austin Dillon, the 2017 Coca-Cola 600 race winner, will race a patriotic-themed No. 3 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet featuring Winchester Ammunition in this year’s Coca-Cola 600 on Sunday, May 25.
As part of NASCAR’s Honor and Remember program, Dillon’s name on the windshield header of the No. 3 Chevrolet will be replaced by the name of fallen Army Staff Sargent Sean Gregory Landrus, a native of Thompson, Ohio. Landrus died Jan 29, 2004 from injuries he suffered when a roadside bomb exploded and hit the convoy he was in near Khalidiyah, Iraq, during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
“Winchester has a long history of supporting the U.S. Military and we’re honored to have our brand featured on the car bearing Army Staff Seargent Sean Gregory Landrus’ name,” said Brett Flaugher, President of Winchester Ammunition. “Good luck to Austin Dillon this weekend in the Coca-Cola 600.”

Team Blaser Dominates the TSCA Texas State Sporting Clays Championships
San Antonio, Texas (May 20, 2025) – Team Blaser dominated the 2025 Texas State Sporting Clays Championships taking home four state titles and many podium finishes. Cory Kruse was the Main Event and the 5-Stand State Champion, Austin Kiemsteadt was the FITASC State Champion, & Justin Napier was the Adios Cup State Champion.
The event was held May 13 – 18, 2025, at the National Shooting Complex in San Antonio, Texas. With hot & humid temperatures pushing a heat index of 110 degrees, Team Blaser proved their talent & discipline.
Cory shot an impressive 194/200 in the Main Event, putting him four targets above 2nd place, while Team members Austin & Justin tied with 189/200. Austin ultimately took the 3rd place position after a shoot-off. Cory was on fire this week, which led him to also win Runner-Up in Super Sporting & 3rd in the Prelim event on top of his two state titles. The 2025 Main Event Championship made this Cory’s 9th TSCA Texas State HOA Championship title of his career. Justin Napier also won 3rd Place podium finishes in both Super Sporting and American Field Sporting Events last week.

GA-ASI MOVES INTO GROUND TESTING OF NEW YFQ-42A CCA
SAN DIEGO – 19 May 2025 – General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) is pleased to move into the ground testing phase of development on the YFQ-42A production-representative test vehicle for the Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA) program in preparation for its planned first flight later this summer. Ground testing began May 7.
“The YFQ-42A is an exciting next step for our company,” said GA-ASI President David R. Alexander. “It reflects many years of partnership with the U.S. Air Force of advancing unmanned combat aviation for the United States and its allies around the world, and we’re excited to begin ground testing and move to first flight.”
YFQ-42A represents the third uncrewed jet type developed by GA-ASI. Our internally funded MQ-20 Avenger made first flight in 2009 and has completed more than 40,000 flight hours, currently serving as a jet-powered CCA surrogate for autonomy development and critical advancements in artificial intelligence and machine learning integration.
Our XQ-67A Off-Board Sensing Station (OBSS) jet made first flight in 2024, the result of years of partnership with the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) to design an autonomous collaborative platform with a common chassis or “genus” that could pivot quickly to multiple missions and different aircraft “species.” The XQ-67A’s platform-sharing approach leverages best practices from the automotive industry to create a system design with lower cost and faster build in mind.
A pioneer in unmanned aerospace technologies, GA-ASI has developed more than two dozen different aircraft types and delivered more than 1,200 units to customers, building more than 100 aircraft per year at its 5 million-square-foot manufacturing facility in Poway, Calif. In recent times, small, inexpensive, commercially available drones have become some of the deadliest pieces of weaponry that exist. Now, the US Army is reevaluating how tanks can be used on the battlefield, according to Army Secretary Daniel Driscoll, who recently discussed the shift in tactics on the War on the Rocks podcast, noting that drones are now capable of targeting tanks’ most vulnerable points, forcing a reconsideration of how armored units are deployed.
According to Driscoll, historically, tanks like the M1 Abrams have been used to lead aggressive frontline assaults, relying on their heavy armor to absorb enemy fire. However, Driscoll pointed out that with the increasing number of sensors and surveillance systems on the battlefield, tanks can no longer push as far ahead in the formation. Drones, which can be launched at a fraction of the cost of a tank, now have the ability to target weak spots and incapacitate even the most heavily armored vehicles.
To adapt, the Army is considering a major redesign of its tank battalions. By slimming down these units and reducing their exposure to aerial threats, commanders hope to keep the tanks in the fight longer and more safely. This includes moving away from aggressive shock-and-awe tactics, in favor of more strategic positioning behind protected lines.
One key aspect of this shift is the use of drones as escorts for tank units. These drone escorts would act as scouts, identifying and neutralizing threats before they can reach the tanks. This allows the armored vehicles to maintain their offensive capabilities while minimizing their vulnerability to drone strikes. The concept mirrors the Army’s broader push toward integrating unmanned systems with manned units for improved situational awareness and risk management.
As the battlefield evolves, these strategic shifts show the Army’s commitment to adapting its tactics and technologies to counter the increasingly sophisticated drone threat.

SAN DIEGO – 19 May 2025 – General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) has successfully integrated the advanced Optix software—developed by General Atomics Integrated Intelligence, Inc. (GA-i3)—into the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) Common Intelligence Picture (CIP) for a multi-service Weapons and Tactics Instructor (WTI) course.
This milestone marks a significant enhancement in the USMC’s Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities, delivering a unified operational view critical to the training of future aviation leaders. For the USMC, this integration directly supports the deployment and effectiveness of the GA-ASI-supplied MQ-9A Medium-Altitude, Long-Endurance (MALE) Unmanned Aircraft System within the Marine Air-Ground Task Force (MAGTF).
Achieved through close collaboration with Marine Aviation Weapons and Tactics Squadron One (MAWTS-1) and Marine Operational Test and Evaluation Squadron One (VMX-1), the integration brought together engineers from GA-ASI and GA-i3 alongside USMC unmanned aviation operations experts. Their combined efforts enabled the seamless deployment of the Optix software during the rigorous WTI 2-25 training cycle.
USMC MQ-9A operations during the exercise took place at Yuma, Arizona, and the Strategic Expeditionary Landing Field (SELF) at Twenty-Nine Palms, California—the Marine Corps’ only expeditionary runway in the U.S. The live-fire training environment provided an invaluable opportunity to evaluate the MQ-9A’s role in complex combat scenarios.
By introducing Optix into this high-demand setting, Marines gained access to real-time data fusion, a shared operational picture, and enhanced collaborative decision-making—tools critical for modern battlefield success.
“The integration of Optix software represents a key step toward the effective deployment of the MQ-9A MUX MALE platform within the MAGTF and joint operations,” said Doug Brouwer, Senior Director for USMC Programs at GA-ASI. “It enables near real-time situational awareness and improves the decision-making process across the battlespace.”
