National Rifle Association (NRA) Endorses 2nd Amendment Lawsuit Filed by Ammunition Depot and California Rifle & Pistol Association (CRPA)

Ammunition Depot stands up for America’s Second Amendment Rights and access to ammunition.

Boca Raton, Fla. (April 30, 2018) – Ammunition Depot has joined the California Rifle & Pistol Association with support of the National Rifle Association (NRA) in filing a lawsuit challenging California’s restriction regarding the sale or transfer of ammunition. The lawsuit, titled Rhode et al v. Becerra, challenges California’s new ammunition sales restrictions as a violation of the Second Amendment and Commerce Clause of the United States Constitution.

The restrictions California is imposing on their residents include not being permitted to order ammunition online and have it delivered to their place of residence or business. Proposition 63 mandates ammunition retailers to check with the Department of Justice to determine if a buyer is authorized to purchase. Individuals and businesses must obtain a 1-year license for the California Department of Justice to sell ammunition. Individuals must have any ammunition purchased online delivered to a firearms retailer in order to take possession of it. If ammunition is shipped from out of state, the California resident may be required to pay a transfer fee and, starting in 2019, will need to submit to a background check. There is a penalty for failure to follow the retailer licensing requirements.

“These restrictions on the sale and transfer of ammunition in the state of California are a direct impingement on the rights and liberties of the residents of that state, and we at Ammunition Depot are committed to standing up for our customers and our Second Amendment rights,” Scott Blick, managing partner of Ammunition Depot said. “Shopping online offers our customers convenience, selection, great pricing and our uncompromising service, which we feel is the right of all citizens of the United States, including Californians.”

The Rhode et al v. Becerra suit will be the fourth lawsuit filed by CRPA attorneys with support from the NRA challenging the provisions of Proposition 63 and other “Gunmageddon” bills on the docket. Duncan v. Becerra has already succeeded in obtaining an injunction against Proposition 63’s ban on the possession of magazines capable of holding more than 10 rounds. Two other lawsuits, Rupp v. Becerra and Villanueva v. Becerra are challenging California’s “assault weapon” restrictions and registration requirements and are also seeing injunctions.

FBI Awards Contract for up to $19 Million of Specifically Designed Federal Premium Training Ammunition

Leaking? Former FBI Director, James Comey, May Have a Solution

Time flies readers and once more Friday is upon us, so we look forward to a relaxing and enjoyable weekend; it’s also a great time to have a shoot the shit.

I don’t know about you all, but I can’t think of a time in our country’s history when there’s been more strife, obstruction and dysfunction, and the Congressional Confirmation process has become a monumental cluster fuck of biblical proportions and completely unbelievable! But, look,

it’s occasions like this that make our shoot the shit such an effective tool, and a less costly alternative to paying some jackass that studied psychology to understand him or herself $150+ per hour. Candidly, you’d be better served by your average aboriginal shaman.

I’ll kickoff my rant by recapping some of the highlights from Director Pompeo’s confirmation hearings. The man was asked by POTUS to take the helm at the State Department so what does Senator Corey Booker ask him: “…do you believe that gay sex is a perversion?…” ONLY IF IT’S UNLUBRICATED SENATOR BOOKER! Ask the man a policy question! Alas! Secretary Pompeo hung in there and made it through the confirmation process. We extend our congratulations to Secretary Pompeo!

Unfortunately Rear Admiral R.L. Jackson withdrew from consideration for Secretary of Veterans Affairs. The amount of crap the Democrats threw at him, all unsubstantiated, was amazing and I can’t blame him for not wanting to be dragged through the mud. The man has an incredible service record and served in two administrations with extremely high fitness reports. So, we veterans lost out, and I struggled to understand why.

I suspect that Ronny Lynn Jackson sounded a little too country for the Democrats – “Heavens he may drive a pickup and own guns” I was hoping to hear the Admiral’s response to Senator Booker asking what he would do if he encountered two male nurses having anal sex. ”Would you find that pervasive Admiral?”

Next we have the James Comey extravaganza, maybe fiasco is a better word. The former FBI Director, James Comey, has been on every talk show on the planet (a little Clintonish don’t you think). Everyone, including CNN, says he was leaking and that several of those leaks included classified information and were property of the government. All I can say is that this leaking crap needs to stop so we may soon see a new James Comey product.

It’s potentially a great fallback if the book flops! Although I understand the book has sold 600K copies in its first week – all of which bought by the DNC (humor not fact). But, for you last minute shoppers, Barnes and Nobel has them marked down 30% with an additional 10% if you’re a B&N member.

Precision manufacturer Ultradyne has released their C4 Sighting system.  While taking the same position on your rifle as standard back-up iron sights (BUIS), the C4 Sight system offers more than just back up.

Over seventy cadets from the United States Naval Academy, the United States Coast Guard Academy, Virginia Military Institute (VMI), West Point, and Texas A&M competed in an intense day-long event, testing their marksmanship, in hopes of being named the SIG Relentless Warrior Champion.

“Having served as a coach for one of these teams for many years I have a deep connection to this event, and it was an honor to serve as the match director for the inaugural year at SIG SAUER Academy,” added Chad Barber, match director. “These young men and women are the future of our nation’s military leadership and I am proud to have this opportunity to work with SIG SAUER Academy to provide this high level competition to showcase and challenge their shooting development.”

Tactical Trauma Care Course
This course was created by a Special Operations Combat Medic and a former “Greenside” Navy Corpsman, now NYC Paramedic. It will teach basic trauma management using the M.A.R.C.H. This course is designed to help First Responders effectively combat the dangers of homemade explosives. The HME awareness training program focuses on stopping the clandestine proliferation of improvised energetic material that can be used in association with criminal and terrorist activities.

HME Operational Level Course
This course is designed for the operational first responder…the first there. In addition to the information provided in the awareness course, students will be safely exposed to real improvised explosive formulations, including several peroxide based mixtures such was TATP, which was used in the recent Paris attacks. Students will witness first-hand, the sensitivity and destructive power of improvised explosives, how to safely oper ate (if necessary) while improvised mixtures are present, methods of desensitization, as well as a live range demonstration. There is absolutely no alternative for this real- world based training. If you want to be operating at your optimal level and be ready to deal with the threat of improvised explosives and improvised explosive labs, you need to attend this course.

WHO’S YOUR BANKER ?

We made it through another week and it’s now time to think about the weekend and spending time with friends and family. It’s also time for a shoot the shit and we certainly invite you to participate. Remember that participants don’t need to know anything about the topic, you can make any unsupported statement, use uncensored profanity, insult anyone you wish or change the subject. This is a pro bono service and we don’t even care if your in denial.

You may not be aware of this but Bank of America and CITI Group have openly indicated that they will terminate lending to firearm manufacturers who produce “military style” weapons for civilian use. Their position impacts leading manufacturers like Remington Outdoor Co., Sturm Ruger & Co., SIG Sauer, Vista Outdoor Inc., O.F. Mossberg & Sons and American Outdoor Brands Corp. We found this to be a remarkably uninformed position as many of these companies are leading law enforcement, federal agency and Department of Defense suppliers, and commercial sales are an integral part of their revenue streams. What these financial institutions want to do is force these companies to discontinue manufacturing and selling modern semiautomatic rifles.

The financial institutions involved have all been bailed out by the U.S. taxpayer, the very same taxpayers who are Remington’s et. al. customers. They’re not just denying taxpayers access to products they choose to purchase, they are  also denying licensed manufacturers  operating legally under state and federal law with financial services. Their action is discriminatory and should be challenged in court. Furthermore, state and local governments supportive of the Second Amendment and an industry that contributes $51 billion to the economy and employs 300K+ individuals should look to other institutions for their financial services.

David Hogg, the Parkland student activist, is a well meaning adolescent but completely uninformed and ill-equipped to make a coherent argument. David Hogg’s position is that the NRA is evil and stopping the sale of semiautomatic rifles will stop mass killings.  Someone needs to tell David that the NRA is an association representing members and no different than the AMA representing member doctors or ABA representing attorneys. David should also understand that NRA members have kids in school and they too want to see their children safe. Sadly, David Hogg has become a Muppet for the antigun movement.  So be it!

Any mass killing is a national tragedy but attacking a firearm type particularly a long gun is unsupported by the facts. The FBI’s Expanded Homicide Data Table 4 provides some very important facts that will help you separate emotion from reality.

In 2016 there were 11,004 firearm related homicides in the United States; 374 of those were committed by rifles (all types), So rifles account for 0.034 of all firearm homicides. Sadly, mass shootings get all of the media attention and if it involves an AR15 you’re looking at weeks of coverage. Contrast the coverage given to the You Tube shootings, which involved a woman with a pistol. This emphasis is by design and ignores the principal driver of gun related homicides which is gang activity in the conduct of illegal drug business.

Everyone wants to see safe firearm ownership but there are better ways than denying financial services to reputable manufacturers operating legally and within the law.

Actor and Former U.S. Marine R. Lee Ermey Passes at 74

Best known as the Gunny, Lee Ermey had over 70 feature films to his credit. He was also an NRA board member and avid Second Amendment supporter. Lee Ermey was a common sight at the Shot Shows and could generally be found at Glock’s booth. The Gunny will be sorely missed. He passed 15 April 2018 from complications with pneumonia.

Mont Vernon, N.H. (April 2018) – Although axes have been used throughout history as a tool and weapon, little has changed over the millennia in its design. For today’s first responders, military and law enforcement professionals, the axe is still a primary tool for rescue, breaching and survival scenarios. Outland Equipment designs and manufactures state-of-the-art axes and knives specifically engineered to meet the critical demands of those that go in harms’ way.

“A go-to tool for responding to emergency situations,” Chris Aiston, CEO of Outland Equipment, said. “We design these tools for those who operate in harsh environments where failure means disaster. They cut, pound and pry, facilitating structure and vehicle forcible entry and egress. Outland has produced three Multi-Mission Axes (MMA) that not only perform the requirements of an axe, but also integrate other functionality including hammering, prying, cutting seatbelts, cutting sheet metal and working with hex fasteners. The MMA 1502, 1902 and 1503 are all made from a single piece of hardened S7 tool steel, a steel formulated to withstand extreme shock and impact.

The head of the MMA series features a 3.9 inch cutting edge with a bolt-on hammer and hex nut tool. The MMA 1502 and 1503 are 15 inches in length, a size convenient for carry and maneuvering in tight spaces. The MMA 1902 with its 19 inch length provides enhanced reach, impact force and leverage. The tail of the MMA 1502 and 1902 feature an angled pry bar, seatbelt cutter and sheet metal cutter. The MMA 1503 tail features an angled pry bar, seatbelt cutter and a hex wrench for urban and residential environments.

The handle grips are made of G10 material, a fiberglass-based epoxy resin that is not only extremely rugged but also impervious to moisture and chemicals, important factors for rescue operators. The handle has been shaped to offer the operator multiple hand positions to optimize a positive grip for the job.

All of Outland’s MMA axes are covered with a Modular Sheath that allows for easy access, quick deployment and multiple carry options. The axe is secured in the sheath using an internal latch and two BioThane® Coated Webbing straps. Carry options are endless for the operator, as the Modular Sheath accepts accessories for mounting on a belt or MOLLE gear, can be bolted to a vehicle or worn on a shoulder strap.
