The National Association of Police Equipment Distributors (NAPED) and North American Association of Uniform Manufacturers and Distributors (NAUMD) Annual Conference and Exhibition registration closes March 15, 2019.

New Bern, N.C. (February 2019) – The National Association of Police Equipment Distributors (NAPED) and North American Association of Uniform Manufacturers and Distributors (NAUMD) announce the last day to register for their annual conference and exhibition closes on March 15, 2019. The event will be held in New Orleans, April 7 – 9, 2019 for public safety and law enforcement product manufacturers and retailers/distributors.

The annual event provides a unique, industry-wide opportunity for new and well-established companies to network with the top management teams of some of the leading brands in the public safety community. An exhibition hall is open for manufacturers to display their product lines and grow their sales channel through one-on-one meetings with distributors.

Conference break out sessions include discussions on retail merchandising, employee and company policies, industry economic updates and more. Additionally, the annual event provides a platform to award members with Image of the Year, Best Dressed Public Safety, Innovator of the Year, Rising Star Young Leadership and Lifetime Achievement awards. This year, uniformed police, fire, sheriff and EMS have been invited to attend the exhibition to view the latest in public safety technology and products.

The Congressional Oversight Committee – Michael Cohen Testimony

It’s Friday and time for a little weekend rest and relaxation. This week has been particularly interesting. We had a President overseas meeting with Mini-Me to negotiate denuclearization of North Korea concurrent with a completely tasteless session of the Congressional Oversight Committee taking testimony from Michael Cohen. Talk about a circus! If you sat through Cohen’s testimony, you need a good shoot the shit to get that out of your system. The guy just isn’t a liar but he has to be the most inept lawyer on the  planet; fortunately, he was disbarred so he won’t be practicing law anytime soon. The convicts at his assigned facility won’t even ask him for legal advice. Keep in mind that a shoot the shits is far better than paying a jackass who studied psychology to understand himself or herself. Okay, here we go…

The Democratic party which once had a love of country and its citizens is gone! Over the years they’ve been irradiated by weapon’s grade plutonium and slid into schizophrenia producing luminaries like Beto O’Roke, Ocasio-Cortez, etc., etc. Their objective is to transition the country to socialism (1st step to communism) where it can then be guided by luminaries like Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez. Their strategy is precisely what I used to do in grade school and that is make wet toilet paper balls and throw them at the wall to see if they stick. In this case the wall is an uniformed voter that gets their information from Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. That’s their objective.

Take for example Ocasio-Cortez’s questioning of Michael Cohen. First, I’ll bet you $5 that someone wrote those questions for her and that she rehearsed the presentation for at least a week before. But, so be it. Her questions are designed to paint a corrupt picture of the President. I want you all to keep in mind what I’m going to say below so that you’re equipped to draw your own informed conclusions.

  1. In the United States of America tax avoidance is legal. Tax evasion (what Cohen was charged with) is not. This means that you as an individual or business entity can use any legal means to reduce your tax liability.
  2. Asset valuation. This is a complex discussion for a number of reasons but the most common approach is FMV (Fair Market Value). Let’s say that you purchase a building that you subsequently rent out deriving a monthly revenue stream. For internal bookkeeping you record the purchase along with direct expenses related to the purchase (e.g. realtor fees, attorney’s fees and accountant’s fees) so on your books that building is shown at $1,000,000. In order to match current period income with expenses we depreciate the building using a number of formulas) but let’s say that over two years your depreciation is $30,000 that building is now recorded on the books at $970,000.  The building also generates $200,000 a month in rents, which is recorded on the books as income. Life is good.
    1. You now decide to open a restaurant, so you want to borrow money. You go the bank and ask for the loan. In the loan application you’re asked to list assets, so you list your building at $3,000,000 if you’re Ocasio-Cortez you call that fraud. What you as the building owner are doing is showing the building’s fair market value. Fair Market Values are estimates that reflect the value of the physical property along with its revenue generating potential. Not fraud! What the bank does is evaluate the quality of the asset and its suitability as the source of repayment (among other things) and makes the load on the basis of its analysis.
  3. Over valuation of an asset to an insurance company. Assume that you have a factory producing widgets generating $5,000,000 a year in income but the building costs you $500,000 and all of the equipment cost you $1,000,000. If that facility burns down to the ground are you out $1,500,000? No,  you are also out of an annual revenue stream of $5,000,000 so that asset is worth much more than $1.5 million. And the insurance company would underwrite that risk at the appropriate premium. Business as usual folks!

I hope that I’ve been able to shed some light on the Cohen testimony, as questionable and ambiguous as it was, but look, going forward I suggest that you clean your derriere with anything relating to The President that comes out of the Democratic Party. It’s not just a national embarrassment, it has a global fragrance that would violate anyone’s olfactory senses.

Tabletop Review of BCB International FIREDRAGON Fuel and Multi-fuel Cooker

I have to admit to being a sucker for simplicity, and simple is a good thing rendering tranquility and even prolonging life. If you’ve studied art, you undoubtedly had the opportunity to experience  Claude Monet. Monet, gave rise to the French Impressionist movement; gracing the art world with a simplicity and mastery of nature. His use of light is unsurpassed and remains the hallmark of the French Impressionist evolution. My point is that there is great beauty in simplicity and if you’ve ever been on outings, in service, or to simply enjoy the great outdoors where you’ve needed half a dozen gun bearers, you’ll definitely appreciate what I’m presenting here today, BCB International’s  FIREDRAGON Green and Clean Solid Fuel and their new multi-fuel stove.

FireDragon’s fuel departs from the customary Hexamine and Trioxane tablets, which have a high energy density of 30.0 megajoules per kilogram (MJ/kg), but they produce toxic gases when burning. In fact, Hexamine produces cyanide gas.

BCB’s fuel is an organic solidified ethanol that burns cleanly, with zero toxicity, so it’s safe to use and won’t hurt the environment. FireDragon’s multi-cooker is a compact and reusable stove that is fuel agnostic; of course, it works best with FireDragon’s fuel blocks but you can use any conventional jell or solid fuel.

20190226_104651When you unbox the stove you encounter an aluminum box measuring 4.4” x 2.9” x 1.0” that also store three fuel blocks. The entire thing easily fits in a cargo pocket so it’s very compact and extremely light weight, and when you’re out in the field saving ounces counts.

20190226_104501Opening the stove requires no assembly or tools, you simply open the two flaps exposing a pan that will hold the ethanol jell. There’s also a wind shield that plays two roles, it protects the flame from wind and provides structural support keeping the flaps from inadvertently closing under weight.

Once fully deployed, the end result is a field expedient cooking system that is light weight, uncomplicated, multifunctional and boils water in 5 minutes. I’ll bet you could even cook up a nice river trout, some fatback and scrambled eggs using this fuel and stove.

What’s the cost? Online, about seven bucks for the stove and five bucks for the fuel. I see no reason why you should not have the FireDragon fuel and stove in your bug out bag, or in your emergency preparedness kit at home or in your vehicle. Reach is constructed of high-strength metal alloy in a sleek, brushed stainless finish. One Reach can work for multiple models. Each handgun model uses a patented molded composite polymer insert that securely keeps the firearm locked. To change out the insert, simply use the backup key to unlock Reach and change. Reach is lightweight at 1.45 lbs. and its 8.25” x 5” x 4” dimensions make it easy to fit anywhere at home, in the office or in a vehicle.

The National Shooting Sports Foundation and the National Crime Prevention Council Release Two New ‘McGruff Gun Safety’ Videos for Young Children

‘Molly’s Mischief’ and ‘Not Cool, Kyle’ teach students from kindergarten to 6th grade to ‘Stop! Don’t touch! Get away! Tell an adult!’

NEWTOWN, Conn. — The National Shooting Sports Foundation® (NSSF®) has partnered with the National Crime Prevention Council (NCPC) to produce two new firearms safety videos starring McGruff The Crime Dog® and his nephew Scruff® to help teach young children how to react should they see an unsecured firearm.

The new ‘McGruff Gun Safety’ videos deliver the compelling message of “Stop! Don’t touch! Get away! Tell an adult!” so that children immediately know what to do in a situation where a gun is unattended, or if a classmate brings a gun on to school grounds, or finds a gun at home to show friends.

The videos, created by Danger Pigeon Studios, use animated characters to hold the interest of young children. They deliver their important gun safety messages in approximately 120 seconds. The video titled “Molly’s Mischief” is designed for viewing by children in kindergarten through 2nd grades, and “Not Cool, Kyle” is for students in grades 2 through 6.

McGruff is joined in both videos by his nephew, Scruff, and some new friends. Together, Scruff and his friends apply the “4 Steps of Gun Safety” from McGruff that help them make the best decisions around a potentially troublesome situation. They are shown in scenarios that make it easy for children to understand how to be safe around unsecured firearms and to recognize that toy guns are very different from real guns.

“We encourage parents, school administrators and teachers to show children these ‘McGruff Gun Safety’ videos and make sure they understand the powerful safety message they deliver,” said Steve Sanetti, CEO of the National Shooting Sports Foundation, the trade association for the firearms industry. “Through this collaboration with the National Crime Prevention Council, we hope to teach children nationwide how to make good, safe decisions around firearms.”

“NCPC is thrilled to partner once again with NSSF on the important issue of gun safety,” said Ann Harkins, President and CEO of the National Crime Prevention Council. “The videos are informative and an entertaining way for kids to learn about McGruff’s 4 Steps to Gun Safety. An accompanying discussion guide, activity sheet for each video, and McGruff’s Gun Safety Pledge will provide opportunities for teachers and parents to review the firearm safety lessons provided by each video, encourage repeat viewings, and reinforce how children should safely react if they see a firearm when adults are not around.

The mission of CHIA is to provide investigative support, training and networking opportunities to homicide investigators, crime scene investigators, prosecutors and death investigation professionals throughout the Western United States. The annual training conference attracts upward of 800 homicide detectives, crime scene investigators, coroner investigators and prosecutors from across the nation. During this three-day event, the participants attend notable case presentations and training seminars. In addition, the conference provides a fertile environment for networking, individual case evaluations and discussions regarding the latest investigative techniques and technologies with some of the top investigators and prosecutors in the country.

In 2015, Streamlight became the first company to offer a light and integrated laser for subcompact handguns when it introduced TLR-6 models that fit the trigger guard of Glock® 42 and Glock® 43 handguns. The TLR-6 Non-Laser uses the latest in power LED technology to deliver 100 lumens, 2,000 candela and a beam distance of 89 meters. The light delivers a run time of one hour and is powered by two CR-1/3N lithium coin batteries.  It features an integrated battery door that permits batteries to be replaced while the light remains mounted on the gun.

Caught Lara Logan on Fox News Channel the other day. She makes me feel like Agent Kruger – I sat there thinking “fokin Krajst Boyki!”“of to wurk Boykis!” In case you’ve never heard of her, Lara is an accredited journalist and war correspondent that spent a considerable amount of time in Iraq and Afghanistan. Well when Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez was asked why she opposed Amazon building its headquarters in NYC, A project that would have created 25,000 jobs with average salaries of $150,000 per year plus benefits from day one. She replied that she wanted to know from Amazon executives:

  1. What types of jobs are they?
  2. Will they be hiring locally or bring people in.
  3. How much will people be getting paid?

Apparently Amazon did not respond. So, (ROFLMAO) to celebrate her victory over Amazon, the Congresswoman, a Twitter champ, tweets

“Anything is possible,” “Today was the day a group of dedicated, everyday New Yorkers & their neighbors defeated Amazon’s corporate greed, its worker exploitation, and the power of the richest man in the world.”

This folks is what’s in Congress and the reason why shoot the shits are as beneficial as they are!

The shallow water navy also known as the United States Coast Guard is as distinguished as any service could be. They have saved countless lives, interdicted tons of illicit drugs and have played a major role in counter terrorism operations. So, what happened to Christopher Paul Hasson USCG Lt. Apparently along the way he self-identified as a white nationalist and dreamed of ways to “kill almost every last person on earth,” Hum, sounds like Venusian death rays to me, right up to the point authorities and media revealed some of his intended targets.

Enhanced Technology and Design are Driving Adoption of Newest GLOCK Models by Law Enforcement

In 2018, GLOCK introduced its newest generation of pistols, the Gen5.  A variation of the “M” pistols used by federal agencies, the 5th generation of pistols feature over twenty design enhancements. Among the features are a match-grade, GLOCK Marksman Barrel with a recessed target-style crown, tighter chamber specs and more aggressive rifling for increased accuracy.  Additionally, internal design changes in the Gen5 models result in a smoother trigger pull and improved trigger reset.

In October, 2018, GLOCK added the G45 to the lineup which incorporates the Gen5 features in a Crossover model featuring a compact-length slide and a full-size frame with a magazine capacity of 17+2.  In the first three months of availability, the G45 has exceeded sales expectations and continues to be adopted by agencies across the country.

The Speed Master 2.0’s versatility derives from its included twin attachment methods – a paddle and an adjustable belt slot – that are quickly and easily interchangeable by the end user. A slot-head screwdriver is the only tool needed to swap one attachment for the other, giving the gun carrier the choice of two carry methods: the convenient paddle design or the stable and traditional belt slot.
