Taufkirchen, Germany, 30 July 2020 – HENSOLDT is supplying three Spexer2000 3D radars and one Z:NightOwl M camera as Xpeller module packages as part of the GUARDION overall system of ESG Elektroniksystem- und Logistik-GmbH and its partners for a total of five drone defense systems. They are used as part of container-based drone defense systems to protect so-called forward operating bases of the German Armed Forces in their operational areas.

“We are herewith supporting the Bundeswehr in close cooperation and coordination with ESG as prime contractor and system integrator”, explains Markus Wolf, Head of Sales and Business Development at HENSOLDT Ventures. “Our high-performance sensors complement the ESG GUARDION system perfectly to achieve the required performance spectrum. The Spexer2000 3D radar is characterized by outstanding detection capabilities, especially against asymmetric threats. The Z:NightOwl M camera was specially developed for high ranges. With it, we support drone defense against so-called Class I drones, that is, unmanned aircraft weighing up to 25 kg.”

HENSOLDT has already demonstrated its extensive experience in drone defense with its Xpeller counter-UAV system on several occasions. In addition to permanent deployment, customers also use the system for temporary protection of major events, most recently for instance during the Dutch Day of Remembrance in Amsterdam in May 2020. Xpeller distinguishes itself particularly through its modularity and scalability. The system can thus be tailored precisely to customer requirements.

RICE LAKE, WI – July 30, 2020 Henry Repeating Arms Company announced that it is voluntarily recalling all H015-series Single Shot Rifles and Single Shot Shotguns manufactured prior to July 1, 2020. Henry has recently discovered a potential safety issue wherein, under certain conditions, it is possible that some of these models may discharge without the trigger being pulled if the hammer is partially cocked and released. To prevent the possibility of death or serious personal injury, you should immediately stop using all H015-series Single Shot Rifles and Single Shot Shotguns and not load or fire them until they have been upgraded.

The safety issue leading to this voluntary recall was discovered internally while testing the existing fire control system for a trigger pull upgrade. This is the first product safety recall in the company’s nearly 25-year history. Although not every Henry H015-series firearm may be affected, Henry Repeating Arms is requesting that all Single Shot Rifles and Single Shot Shotguns be returned to be upgraded free of charge pursuant to this recall to prevent the possibility of the firearm discharging without the trigger being pulled. International Firearms, Ammunition Manufacturer Pledges Ongoing Mental Health Awareness Support

Federal Ammunition Awarded $13.8 Million Delivery Order from the U.S. Army

ANOKA, Minnesota – July 29, 2020 – Federal Ammunition was recently given a new $13.8 million delivery order based on its contract awarded in 2017 by the U.S. Army. The order is for 5.56 NATO MK311 Frangible Ammunition, which is better known by ordnance code AA40. This military-grade, training ammunition has a 50-grain frangible bullet comprised of a non-toxic, copper and tungsten powder matrix core, and a gilding metal jacket. It disintegrates into small fragments on impact, minimizing over-penetration and ricochet hazards.

“One of the differentiators of AA40 is the use of Federal’s exclusive Catalyst primer. It’s a lead-free technology that provides the most reliable, consistent ignition possible,” said VP of Law Enforcement, Government and International Sales David Leis. “Unlike many other lead-free primer formulations, Catalyst primers have unique properties that allow them to be effectively and safely used in service ammunition. NSSF Announces #RangeChallenge Series, USCCA to Sponsor

EAGLEVILLE, PA, July 28, 2020 – Streamlight® Inc., a leading provider of high-performance lighting, introduced the ProTac® 90X USB, a multi-fuel right-angle light that offers up to 1,000 lumens and features a 90º head for multiple lighting needs.

The latest addition to the ProTac® series of tactical lights is a complete rechargeable system that includes a Streamlight SL-B26™ protected Li-Ion USB rechargeable battery pack with an integrated micro-USB port and a charging cord. A ProTac® 90X with two CR123A batteries also is available. This multi-fuel capability enables users to charge the light on the go or insert cell batteries when a charging source is unavailable.

“The combination of its 90º head, powerful light output and multiple attachment methods battery make the ProTac 90X USB our brightest and most versatile everyday carry light available,” said Streamlight Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Michael F. When using the SL-B26 USB LI-Ion battery pack, the ProTac 90X USB delivers 1,000 lumens and runs for one hour and 45 minutes on high. It also provides 1,000 lumens and a run time of two hours and 30 minutes on the high setting when using CR123A batteries.

Featuring a multi-function, push button switch, the light is made from 6000 series machined aluminum with a Type II MIL-Spec anodized finish. Measuring just 4.39 inches long, the ProTac 90X USB weighs 4.9 ounces with the included Streamlight USB Li-Ion battery, while the ProTac 90X model weighs 4.4 ounces with two included CR123A batteries.

The light features an IPX7-rated design that makes it waterproof to one meter for 30 minutes. It also is impact-resistant tested to 2 meters.

INDRA JOINS THE FCAS CONCEPT STUDY AS CONTRACTOR

Madrid, July 28, 2020.- Indra, one of the world’s leading technology and consulting companies, has bolstered its participation in the European Defense Program NGWS/FCAS (New Generation Weapon System/Future Combat Air System), by formally joining the project in execution of the Joint Concept Study (JCS), launched by France and Germany in February 2019.

Indra has signed a contractual amendment that positions the company as a contractor of the Joint Concept Study, along with the national coordinators of France (Dassault) and Germany (Airbus). The French agency DGA has signed as the procurement entity acting on behalf of the Defense Ministries of France, Germany and Spain.

This amendment materializes the agreement Indra had already completed with Dassault and Airbus, which means the permanent entry of Spanish industry in the Joint Concept Study and a notable step forward in its participation in the NGWS/FCAS program, paving the way for the other leading Spanish firms in the program: Airbus, ITP and SATNUS.

Indra thus cements its role as coordinator of Spanish industry in the program and its representative to the industrial coordinators of France and Germany.

The Joint Concept Study strives to investigate and define system capabilities and common architecture for the NGWS systems, defining and updating the technology development road map needed to achieve functional and operational targets and establish the scheduling framework for all the program’s execution phases.

In addition to this achievement within the Joint Concept Study, Indra has made strides in other ways to strengthen its position as the Spanish leader of four of the eight pillars upon which the program is structured. The company has signed international industrial agreements to lead, alongside Dassault and Airbus, the two transversal pillars (the aforementioned Joint Concept Study and the inter-pillar consistency/SIMLAB), to lead the Sensors Pillar, teamed with Thales and German FCMS, and take part as Main Partner, along with Thales, in the Combat Cloud, led by Airbus in Germany.

The role Indra plays as coordinator in the NGWS/FCAS program has the goal of ensuring Spanish industry’s participation is at the highest level. The development of the program will generate a major influx of knowledge and added value for Spanish companies and provide them with the opportunity to develop cutting-edge products in both defense and civilian environments. The appointment of Indra as national industrial coordinator of the program ensures the maximum return on the program for Spanish industry and sovereignty over the technologies developed by these companies.

Indra’s commitment as Spain’s national coordinator means ensuring the highest yield and the utmost quality of the NGWS/FCAS program for all of Spanish industry (defense and civil). All this takes the form of business generation, the development of its export capacity, the creation of technology also usable in the civil sphere, and high-value job creation.

Lord discusses Trusted Capital Marketplace in latest National Defense magazine

ARLINGTON, VA — The Defense Department’s Ellen Lord offers insight into the Office of Industrial Policy’s work through the Trusted Capital Marketplace, where financial institutions and qualifying companies explore partnerships to support national security, in the latest issue of National Defense magazine, the official publication of the National Defense Industrial Association.
Lord, who is undersecretary of defense for acquisition and sustainment, wrote the commentary, “Trusted Capital Marketplace Protects DoD Supply Chain.” It appears in the “Viewpoint” section of the August 2020 issue.
In the piece, Lord describes how since its launch in November 2019, the marketplace has more than 90 participating firms with capital providers that represent more than $20 billion in assets under management and another $700 million currently under review. The goal is to nurture “America’s open investment environment” while also protecting it from “economic threats by malign actors.”
The Defense Department is concerned that foreign companies or other entities with connections to adversarial nations, such as China, are seeking to gain access to key technologies and intellectual property by providing funding to struggling U.S. firms.
The Trusted Capital Marketplace is a public-private partnership “established to strengthen the defense supply chain and deny adversarial access through investments,” Lord said. “It creates an ecosystem that fosters deal flow between companies building technologies critical to the defense sector and trusted capital providers seeking to expand their national security investment portfolio.”

NDIA joins associations in call for funding, extension of Section 3610 in CARES Act

ARLINGTON, VA – The National Defense Industrial Association, along with seven industry associations representing thousands of government contractors, sent a letter July 24<https://content.ndia.org/-/media/Sites/Press%20Releases/Documents/Multi-association%20Letter%20to%20Request%20Extension%20and%20Funding%20for%20Sec%203610.ashx?la=en> to congressional leadership that urges funding and an extension to Section 3610 of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act.
Section 3610 authorized reimbursement of extraordinary and unanticipated government contractor costs arising from COVID-19. The authority for this provision is set to expire on Sept. 30, and funding has yet to be provided. As contractors continue to face the “ready state” workforce sustainment challenges that justified the enactment of 3610, the signing associations maintain that an extension and appropriation is necessary to support the continuity of government operations in the new fiscal year.
As companies across the defense industrial base continue adjusting to the changes brought on by the global pandemic, extending and funding 3610 is needed to support readiness and modernization across the Defense Department. The grip surface is a rubberized mold that provides the non-slip surface preferred by nearly all tactical shooters. New Form 4473s Mailing, SHOT University Online Training Live Now

NEWTOWN, Conn. – The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) has informed NSSF® that it has begun mailing starter packets of the new Form 4473 to all Federal Firearm License holders. FFLs who pre-ordered the new forms should receive their starter packets over the following couple weeks, and NICS is now accepting background checks for customers filling out the new form online and at the call center.

The new Form 4473, bearing a revision date of May 2020, contains substantial changes over the previous form. NSSF, the firearm industry trade association, is the first to offer a suite of must-have training courses on the new form and a breakdown of its changes through our SHOT UniversityTM Online education center. The series, entitled “Completing the Form 4473 2020 Version,” is now live and reviews critical elements of the new form’s use and purpose, as well as tips for identifying and correcting common errors made by both buyers and sellers. The suite is composed of three, easy-to-digest segments:

  • Module 1: Overview of Form 4473 (30-minute duration)
  • Module 2: Completing Form 4473, Sections A-B (50-minute duration
  • Module 3: Completing Form 4473, Sections C-E (30-minute duration)

All FFL counter salespeople, compliance officers, records keepers and license holders should consider these SHOT University Online courses to be mandatory training. FFLs utilizing the NICS (National Instant Criminal Background Check System) E-check platform, which will be live with the updated electronic form on July 24, should also consider this to be mandatory training.

To enhance FFL training and help reduce errors when using the new form, NSSF also encourages all FFLs to log in to our online store and order the all-new overlays designed for the May 2020 Form 4473. New overlay orders are $15 for members, $30 for non-members, and ship with a set of “Sweat the Details” flyer sheets for distribution to staff salespeople. The new Form 4473 must be in use and the previous form  (Oct. 2016 version) discontinued by Nov. 1, 2020. The new Form 4473 and continuation sheets are available for order in both English and Spanish here.

SHOT University Online and the “Completing the Form 4473 2020 Version” training series is available only to NSSF members and is offered free as part of their member benefits. INDRA WILL REINFORCE AIR SAFETY AT ELEVEN BASES IN SOUTH KOREA

Madrid, July 23, 2020.- The Ministry of Defense of South Korea has awarded Indra the supply and implementation of air traffic surveillance and management systems to reinforce safety and control of air operations at the main Air Force bases.

This project was awarded to Indra in an international tender in competition with the main defense and air traffic companies from USA and rest of the world and it is the first one entrusted to Indra by the Republic of South Korea Air Force (ROKAF).

The systems, to be delivered over four years, will help manage aircraft movements and improve the efficiency of the Air Force’s missions.

The company will provide S-band primary radars, equipped with multiple modes of operation, which incorporate electronic counter-countermeasures (ECCM) based on frequency agility techniques. These systems will work in combination with secondary radars, with the capacity of Friend/Foe identification, which have different modes of interrogation, both civil and military.

The data collected by this equipment will be displayed on the air traffic management systems that the company will implement in the Air Force approach and tower centers at each base.

The military controllers will gain precision in identifying and knowing the position of each aircraft, and will give better support to pilots in their approach, landing and take-off maneuvers.

Indra will work on this project together with Korean companies with the aim of ensuring workload for the local industry.

The contract consolidates the company’s position in the Asian country after completing the modernization of the systems that today manage and monitor air traffic in Seoul in 2018.

A few years earlier, the company had already implemented its radars at Jeju Island’s airport to strengthen the safety of some of the busiest routes in the country and around the world.

“Our industry has shown exceptional generosity in the wake of the pandemic and other difficulties our country has been experiencing,” said Joe Bartozzi, NSSF President and CEO. “We’ve seen our manufacturers convert their plant machinery to make face shields and hand sanitizer, and their employees have fed first responders and stocked community food banks. All of us in the firearm industry care deeply for our home communities and our country, and we believe this fundraiser for the American Red Cross will show everyone how much Gun Owners Care.”

The mission of the American Red Cross is to provide aid and relief whenever and wherever tragedy strikes. Whether it’s a fire that devastates a block of city row houses, a hurricane that floods the South or wildfires ravaging a rural western town, the Red Cross can be counted on to provide critical resources to those affected. The organization also provides global aid to vulnerable citizens in developing countries and critical support to our U.S. military members and their families. Of course, the Red Cross is also the backbone of the process of collecting blood donations and distributing them to medical facilities everywhere.

“The American Red Cross needs your help to deliver their lifesaving mission perhaps now more than ever,” said Bartozzi. “I’m asking everyone in the firearm industry to please join us in donating today. Our goal is to raise $10,000 over the next three months—and if everything our industry members have given over the past few months is any indication, I wouldn’t at all be surprised to see that goal far exceeded.”

In addition to monetary donations, which go directly to the American Red Cross when made through NSSF’s GoFundMe.com page, NSSF encourages members of the firearm industry to donate blood, which is also a desperate need for the Red Cross. Entering a zip code in the indicated box here reveals the nearest donation sites, and it also provides information on how all blood donations are being tested for COVID-19 antibodies, which is key to ending this health crisis and preventing a resurgence.

You’re Eyes are Getting Heavy, You are Getting Sleepy…

Hypnotize GIFs | TenorT.G.I.F. readers, I hope you’ve had a pleasant week and that you are all wearing your masks. Many of you are reaching the point where you feel you need a therapist, I don’t blame you as we live in difficult times. Many of you business owners are closing your doors on what you’ve worked for all your lives to build. It’s a tough situation, but please before you see a therapist have as large a shoot the shit as you can pull together.

As regular readers know, I’ve been critical of the behavioral science community. In my opinion they are the most incompetent branch of what is otherwise the best healthcare industry in the world. Why do I say this?

I base my opinion on the knowledge that about 60% of students majoring in psychology at our universities do so to understand themselves. Walk up to your favorite psychologist and ask them Dr., what is the first derivative of X? You’ll get a blank stare, and even more surprising is the astonishment on their face when you tell them that it’s 1.

Furthermore, the largest concentration of licensed psychologists are in the States of California, New York and in the District of Columbia. As a vivid demonstration of  colossal ineptitude we all see a mass exodus from the State of California to Texas and from New York to Florida. They flee because of the high cost of living and the highest taxes anywhere in the United States. Now, you’d think that the experience would alter the way the vote; if that’s your assumption, you’d be wrong. These poor bastages (see the Urban Dictionary) continue to vote the same way they did when they lived  in California and New York and expect different results. The District of Columbia is a bit different, there you have Congress who is the only organization on the planet that will add staff positions when they have no customers. There is a high coefficient of determination (math talk that evaluates how good the correlation is between the number of psychologists in the area and the number of bozos.)

In the short video below, which is a snip of the Choice Hotels t.v. ad, I will illustrate my point further;  as a side, I’m a Choice Hotels customer, I have yet to experience a poor stay, rooms are clean, excellent facilities and superb customer care.

So, let’s watch this short video.

 

A psychologist would ask for your interpretation of the video, to which most people would say two little kids having a blast. The psychologist would likely respond by saying, “I guess you don’t see a black child doing nothing while the white child is doing all the work.” The psychologist would then say to you, what if the black child was pushing the toy car? You would most likely respond that “the black child is doing all the work.” To which the psychologist would say, then you think enslaving a black child is o.k.

There are two important takeaways from this little exercise: a.) just how screwed up the psychologist is and b.) the head games being played on Americans of all races.

I want to share a personal experience. I served with my buddy Willie, until I lost track of him shortly after A School. Willie was an African American from Chicago. As customary, when servicemen got together in those days for a couple of beers, the conversation always transitioned to hot cars and women. It was also generally believed that black men did not engage in oral stimulation of their female partner, so when when we all sat down with Willie and talked about conilingus, speaking in a husky voice, he would say: “All you white motherfuckers are the same. All you think about is sticking your honky ass face in a woman’s crotch. I’m telling y’all right now a man who eats a hole will eat a pole.” Needless to say, Willie did not know what he was missing!

At the time, the services were introducing racial awareness classes for  NCOs and Petty Officers and  Willie said something to me that I will never forget. He said: “We’s been told that we was slaves so long that we starting to believe it. ” Willie probably never finished high school but at that point in time he had a Socrates moment.

We all need to respect one another but if you are a black man or woman don’t drink the Kool Aid that’s being served today because it’s designed to get to your wallet and your vote. Succeeding in 2020 is up to you and nobody can do it for you but remember that you’ll never pick cotton again. 

So this weekend schedule a good shoot the shit. Remember that a shoot the shit has no rules, any topic can be discussed, participants don’t need to know anything about the subject, they are free to make unsupported comments, use uncensored profanity, insult anyone they wish or change the subject.

Be safe, stay healthy and don’t let the crap get to you.
