German Precision Optics Launches New SPECTRA™ 6X Riflescopes

RICHMOND, Va. (March 2, 2021) — German Precision Optics (GPO) announces six new riflescopes to its line of premium optics. Designed for today’s discriminating hunter, the new SPECTRA™ 6X riflescope lineup offers precise, reliable and top-of-the-line performance to meet the demands of any situation hunters may find themselves in. A 30mm main tube, proprietary GPObright™ high-transmission lens coating technology, iControl™ illumination technology, PASSIONdrop™ hydrophobic exterior lens coatings and a double HD glass objective lens are just some of the features you will find in these models. Models in the 6X line include the SPECTRA™ 1-6x24i, 1,5-9x32i, 1,5-9x44i, 2-12x44i, 2-12x50i, and 3-18x56i.
Both the SPECTRA 1-6x24i and 1,5-9x32i riflescopes are compact and lightweight, with magnification from 1x to 9x between to 2 models, which allows for quick shooting on fast-moving targets at close range, and a choice between 24mm and 32mm objective lens diameter. A Girl & A Gun Celebrates 10 Years of Friendly and Certified Firearms Training

AUSTIN TX – A Girl & A Gun Women’s Shooting League (AG & AG), a leading women’s organization, celebrated ten years of success in the firearms community. February 28th marked the 10-year anniversary of the league’s first Girl’s Night Out at the Range. AG & AG was the industry’s first large-scale chapter-based women’s organization and currently hosts semiweekly training events at 224 ranges throughout the United States.

“Our growth in the past 10 years is because we have provided the opportunities for women to find friendships and learn vital life skills,” says Julianna Crowder, Founder of AG & AG. “A Girl & A Gun thrives because we continue to have the highest standards of safety and quality leadership; we believe that all are welcome in the firearms community; we will accept a marksman where she is in her journey and help her reach her goals; and we will always support our ranges and retailers so that our industry is strong.”

Since 2011, AG & AG has introduced thousands of women and families to the safe and proficient use and storage of firearms. Last year alone the league hosted more than 19,000 women at 1,881 training events. Its innovative Shooting Journal has sold more than 1,200 printed copies and 5,000 digital copies. The league currently has more than 6,500 card-carrying members throughout all 50 states, as well as thousands of guests who attend training and competitive events.

“It is rewarding to be a part of an organization that always goes above and beyond to serve its members and to make sure they are successful,” says Robyn Sandoval, Executive Director. In addition to its highly popular Virtual Girl’s Nights Out that take place every two weeks, AG & AG will be hosting its 9th National Conference Presented by GLOCK in April at Cameo Shooting and Education Complex near Grand Junction, CO. More than 440 members are registered to attend 3.5 days of live-fire training, self-defense, competition, archery, and more. The instructor roster includes 70 of the nation’s most respected firearms educators.

The annual conference will be held virtually for a second consecutive year to mitigate the threat of the global coronavirus pandemic. NDIA and SOCOM jointly concluded that an online event for 2021 SOFIC is the appropriate precaution, given the potential risk that a large in-person gathering may present to public health.

SOFIC brings together thousands of special operations personnel and industry partners to learn, network and collaborate on initiatives and capabilities needed in the future. NDIA joins call for Section 3610 extension through fiscal year

ARLINGTON, VA – The National Defense Industrial Association is among 11 trade organizations asking Congress to extend Section 3610 from the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act, which gives agencies funds to cover certain contractor costs and keep skilled personnel and workers in a ready state during the COVID-19 response, the organization announces today.
The Arlington, Virginia-based NDIA signed the Feb. 25 letter to the leadership of the House and Senate, urging for a six-month extension of Section 3610 to Sept. 30, the end of the fiscal year. Without an extension, the authority will expire March 31.
The letter states that many federal agencies continue to use Section 3610 authority “to maintain the capabilities and workforce necessary to meet mission needs and protect our national security and other vital programs.” Further, it emphasizes that agencies are not mandated to use Section 3610, but “it is a tool the government can employ when needed to maintain their contractor workforce when COVID-19 forces facility closures, the implementation of social distancing measures and staggered shift work for those who are physically in the workplace.”

Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) imploring the extension of Section 3610. Rafael wins U.S. power company contract for EMP-protected radio

Commercial installation of a BNET radio – the world’s first commercially available EMP-protected radio for “Black Sky” hazards

TEL AVIV, February 24, 2021 – A leading U.S. power company has installed a U.S. FCC-certified version of Rafael’s world-class EMP-protected BNET radio in December as part of its EMP protection strategy. This is the first commercial installation of a BNET radio, Rafael’s software-defined cognitive radio with EMP-protections for “Black Sky” Hazards and other potential threats.

A “Black Sky” Hazard is defined as a catastrophic event that severely disrupts the normal functioning of critical infrastructures in multiple regions for long durations. An EMP event can be both human-caused and naturally occurring. In the event of an EMP, re-energizing the power grid and restoring critical infrastructure after a Black Sky event will require a powerful EMP protected communications platform like BNET.

Rafael’s current FCC-approved BNET radio operates on the LMR bands, and can be integrated with other communications platforms, such as a PBX, through the use of SIP, addressing the specific requirements of critical infrastructure.

Rafael Advanced Defense Systems is currently working with its U.S. partner, the EIS Council, to expand the LMR operational range of this radio, as well as to provide the nation’s first EMP-protected broadband radio, due to be approved in 2021.

INDRA registered losses of €-65M in 2020 impacted by covid, despite the fact that backlog increased +16% and debt was reduced to a 10-year low

· Order intake grew +8.4% in local currency in 2020, pushed by Transport & Defence

· Backlog reached another new historic absolute high (€5,229m), implying 1.72x backlog/revenues LTM

· Revenues in 2020 decreased by -1.6% in local currency (-5.0% in reported terms), although in 4Q20 have grown + 1.0% in local currency vs 4Q19

· Strong impact of FX in 2020 (€-108m in revenues and €-7.3m in EBIT). The impact of FX in the fourth quarter was €-35m in revenues and €-3.6m in EBIT

· Operating Margin amounted to €168m in 2020 (5.5% margin) vs €257m in 2019 (8.0% margin) affected by the accumulated delays and the lower activity. Operating Margin in the fourth quarter stood at 9.0%, helped by the first positive consequences of the action plan

· 2020 EBIT reached €-33m vs €221m in 2019, affected by the delays and lower activity, the action plan provisions (€-189m) and the capital gain of Metrocall (+36m)

· Net Profit was €-65m in 2020 vs €121m in 2019

· Cash generation was €83m (including the €38m cash out of the workforce transformation plan)

· Net Debt (€481m) reached its lowest level in 10 years. Net Debt / EBITDA LTM ratio (excluding the impact of IFRS 16, the action plan costs and the capital gain of Metrocall) stood at 2.5x in 2020 vs 1.8x in 2019

Madrid, February 24th, 2021.- Fernando Abril-Martorell, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Indra: “The results of the 2020 financial year have been deeply affected in profitability by the global crisis caused by the Covid, mainly reflected in delays in ongoing projects and in our client´s decision-making, given the severe macroeconomic deterioration in the main countries where we operate. Profitability was also impacted by the action plan provisions that the company took in July to face the crisis and the structural changes in the needs of our clients.

The effect of the crisis on our businesses has been unequal. Our Transport & Defence business has suffered a greater impact on revenues and underlying profitability (excluding extraordinary impacts) due to the higher volume of delays, although the demand for new projects has had a very positive performance, as reflected in the order intake and the accumulated backlog. For its part, Minsait had a lower impact on revenues, but higher in its operating margin, also suffering some weakness in demand.

Despite this difficult environment, it is worth highlighting the good evolution of the order intake and cash generation during the year. The backlog reached its highest historical level, fundamentally due to the order intake of Transport & Defence, while the cash generation has allowed us to reduce the net debt to its lowest level in 10 years.

With all this, and despite the considerable worsening of the pandemic during the second half of the year, we managed to meet the 2020 targets announced in July for revenue and EBIT in their lower range, while we have achieved a notable over delivery in cash generation.

Finally, I want to highlight the achievements in social, environmental, and corporate governance matters, reflected in the significant improvement in our ratings in the Dow Jones Sustainability (DJSI) and FTSE4Good indices, and our permanence in the Bloomberg Gender-Equality index. We also announced our ambitious emission reduction targets for the coming years and a roadmap for the complete decarbonization of Indra and its supply chain by 2050, in line with our firm commitment to the environment and against climate change.

In short, although the pandemic still affects the first months of this new year and continues to be a great source of uncertainty when budgeting for the year, we think that the starting level of our backlog and balance sheet, along with the savings that we should be able to materialize our action plan, should allow us to recover the pre-crisis levels this year, as reflected in our 2021 objectives, and to resume the shareholder remuneration policy this year”.

Better rules of the road and pulling through innovation to the services are key to meeting defense’s emerging tech demands, CEO tells lawmakers
ARLINGTON, VA — The character of war has changed, NDIA’S Hawk Carlisle told the Senate Armed Services Committee on Tuesday, Feb. 23, with the threat not “boots on the ground in far-off theaters” but “in the domains of cyberspace and actual space.”
“Adversaries know they cannot outlast American industrial might today. But they are making gains in changing this calculus,” said Carlisle, president and CEO of the National Defense Industrial Association. He testified with Brad Smith, president of Microsoft Corp, and Eric Schmidt, former CEO of Google, president of Schmidt Futures and chair of the National Security Commission on Artificial Intelligence.
The trio were invited to share their expertise on emerging technologies and national security and what the United States must do to develop and deploy these technologies faster. The three agreed solid funding, reliable defense budgets and a better acquisition strategy are all key to this goal.
U.S. adversaries get stronger every day, Carlisle said, “unconstrained by a fiscal year budget and without the concerns of possible continuing resolutions to inhibit their ability to innovate” while waiting for the funding to come through. Contractors, particularly small businesses, cannot sustain in the holding pattern such fiscal decisions put them in, he said.
The 2018 National Defense Strategy’s 11 modernization priorities are the right focus because “we know our peer competitors are investing in these areas as well, especially China,” Carlisle said. China has made great gains in hypersonics “by outspending us, outpacing us and building on our work,” he said. China also has made fast advancements in space and is investing deeply in artificial intelligence and biotechnology.
Among key points of Carlisle’s testimony:
* Winning the Great Power Competition means “identifying ways to efficiently and effectively deliver from research and development to acquisition, from commercial as well as traditional defense firms, to pull forward and not leave this technology to solely the commercial market or sitting on the shelf,” he said.
* Small business must play a greater role in technology development. Look for opportunities to use the Small-Business Innovation Research program, in particular the “time-saving authorities” in SBIR Phase III, to get technologies under contract and to the warfighter faster.
* Ramp up the use of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, the Defense Innovation Unit, the Space Development Agency and AFWERX to bring more nontraditional players into the defense arena.
* Make greater collaboration across the military services to identify and deploy technology without duplicating efforts.

German Bundeswehr to equip Leopard 2 MBT’s with Rafael’s TROPHY™ APS

Tel Aviv, February 23, 2021 – Rafael Advanced Defense Systems Ltd. is announcing that the German Federal Ministry of Defense has decided to equip the Bundeswehr’s Leopard 2 MBTs with Rafael’s Trophy™ Active Protection Systems (APS).

Following the decision, which was made by the BAAINBw and approved by the Bundestag, Rafael was awarded a contract for an initial batch of Trophy systems, which includes a contract with Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (KMW), the Leopard MBTs OEM, entailing the provision of systems for a company of tanks, interceptors, and spare parts, as well as operational and technical training. The systems will be delivered over the next several years.

It is expected that in the future Germany will procure additional Trophy systems to equip most of its modern fleet of Leopard 2 MBT’s with APS capabilities.

Developed by Rafael in response to successful anti-armor attacks, Trophy APS provides mature, combat-proven protection against rocket and missile threats and simultaneously locates the origin of the hostile fire for immediate response. Trophy is the only fully-integrated, combat-proven APS in the world and has been installed on Israel Defense Forces’ Merkava tanks since 2010, as well as on the Namer APCs. Trophy has made numerous combat interceptions with no injuries to crews or dismounted troops or damage to platforms since its first operational interception in 2011. Trophy has accrued over 1,000,000 operating hours, including 5,400 successful field tests, and is now under contract for serial production of over 1,800 systems.

In January, Rafael and partner DRS announced that they had completed the delivery of Trophy Active Protection Systems (APS) ordered by the U.S. Army for installation on Abrams main battle tanks, under contracts awarded on an urgent need basis by the Army’s Program Executive Office for Ground Combat Systems.

2020 SALES REPRESENTATIVE AND AGENCY AWARDS

Lyons Falls, NY: Otis Technology presented their 2020 Sporting Goods and Law Enforcement Sales Awards in early February. Typically presented at SHOT Show, this year they were presented through several video meetings.
Every year Otis Technology presents awards to the sales representatives and agencies which have shown initiative, sales growth, outstanding effort and customer service over the course of the last year. Otis Technology has recognized Mr. Ray Ragolta of Alliance Sports Group, LLC as the 2020 Sales Representative of the Year and Mr. Travis Russell of 144th Marketing Group has been recognized as their 2020 Law Enforcement Sales Representative of the Year.
