Double Stack Upgrade

1911s  Parts & Accessories  Revolvers

What’s cool about Nighthawk Custom is that no matter what your taste is- we have the model for you. Some people are only classic .45 ACP 1911 people, some like a little modern twist on the 1911, and some must have high capacity on the 1911 platform. Today we are highlighting the Nighthawk Custom Double Stack Upgrade.

Everyone knows the 1911 is the best platform, and when high capacity meets the best design then there is nothing that compares. Our Double Stack Upgrade features a fully machined, aircraft grade aluminum grip that is textured with a non-slip surface. The mainspring housing has received the same non-slip texturing for full 360-degree coverage. An integrated magwell allows for fast and easy reloads while a fully machined hand fit steel frame provides the durability to keep your pistol running just like it did new for generations. Capacity is 17 +1 rounds.

Nighthawk Custom has a couple models that come as a double stack, but otherwise you are able to take any 5” model we offer, besides the Thunder Ranch and Agent 2, and upgrade it to the double stack platform. We would love to help you find one through one of our awesome dealers, or just answer some questions you have.
*This upgrade is available on new builds only and is not available on pre-existing pistols.

Team Federal Finished Strong at the 2021 USPSA Walther Arms Area 4 Championship

ANOKA, Minnesota – October 5, 2021 – Team Federal had an impressive finish at the USPSA 2021 Walther Arms Area 4 Championship, recently held at the United States Shooting Academy in Tulsa, Oklahoma. USPSA Area 4 consists of Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Arkansas although competitors from around the world are able to compete. There were 305 shooters on hand competing in seven divisions – Open, Carry Optics, Limited, Single Stack, Production, Revolver and PCC.

“In a major match like this, winning or losing can come down to a tenth of a second. Your ammunition has to be accurate and dependable in order to perform well,” said Federal Shooting Sports Promotions Manager Jason Spradling. “I’m proud that these team members rely on Federal Syntech Action Pistol to help them achieve their goals.”

Grant Kunkel finished fifth overall and second in the PCC division. Tim Herron won first place the Single Stack division. Cory Klemashevich finished sixth in the PCC division. All of these shooters use 9mm Syntech Action Pistol (AE9SJAP1).

“I was able to bring home another Area Championship win in Single Stack division with Federal Premium Syntech Action Pistol,” said Tim Herron. “I achieved my personal goal during this match which was to push my performance and finish as the highest overall of the low-capacity divisions of Single Stack and Production. What an outstanding match with a great squad!”

“It was great shooting with my Federal teammates and pushing each other to perform at our best,” said Grant Kunkel. “The transition from Steel Challenge to USPSA has been challenging and I’m proud to have earned a second place finish for PCC. I’m excited to go shoot USPSA Nationals next month.”

“The competition in the PCC division was fierce, and I was proud to be able to earn a sixth place finish in a stacked field,” said Cory Klemashevich. “There is no way to compete at this level if your equipment is not completely squared away. I know that I can trust my Federal Syntech ammunition to perform flawlessly every time.”

Syntech Action Pistol is specifically designed for the action shooting sports and loaded to power factor requirements with heavy, flatter-nosed bullets for more reliable knock-downs on steel targets in competition. Like all Syntech loads, they feature the exclusive Total Synthetic Jacket (TSJ), which prevents metal-on-metal contact between the bullet and barrel, eliminating copper and lead fouling as well as reducing damaging heat and friction. Combined with clean-burning powders and the Catalyst lead-free primer, Syntech Action Pistol provides the softest-shooting and most reliable performance possible for high-volume competitive shooters and is the official ammunition of USPSA.

Install SI OPPRESSOR Universal 3-lug QD base, the included correct sized crush washer, properly set the timing/alignment of your muzzle device and you are ready to go. EOTECH® Supports Operation Recovery’s Critical Mission with $50K Donation

Ann Arbor, MI (October 1, 2021) – Afghanistan is in the midst of a crisis. Unknown numbers of Americans and Afghan allies are in desperate need of assistance. Operation Recovery, a group of individuals who served in Afghanistan, vows not to sit idly by while so many lives are in jeopardy. Operation Recovery is a charitable organization who supports the efforts of Task Force Pineapple, a group of U.S. veterans who are working to repatriate American Citizens and Afghan allies by helping fund safe cover, movement, and medical services to injured and displaced people.

All donations, including a major contribution from EOTECH, directly influence operations for the movement of at-risk individuals out of Afghanistan as well as continuing efforts for resettlement and reintegration once back in the United States at the community level. It is expected that Operation Recovery will take on a full spectrum of refugee aid in the coming months and time is of the essence – Operation Recovery’s list of assistance requests has swelled to over 4000 people!

The war in Afghanistan lasted 20 years and has left heroes broken mentally and physically. Some never made it home. Many are still in Afghanistan. EOTECH believes in the time-honored principle of No Man Left Behind. “American patriots and Afghan allies desperately need our help now,” warns Lisa Kemp, EOTECH Director of Marketing. In the true American spirit, EOTECH is donating $50K to Operation Recovery, supporting their grassroots mission of moving people to safety now, as well as the longer-term settlement of our veterans and Afghan allies.

Success stories from Operation Recovery give donors hope and encouragement. Currently, support personnel are caring for over 550 individuals while others are protecting 70+ persons at high risk of reprisal from the Taliban. To date, Operation Recovery has moved over 800 people to safety and there is still a great deal of work left to do amidst many challenges both now and in the future.

Veteran-friendly businesses like EOTECH recognize the urgent need for donations – critical funds that provide transport, food, lodging, medical care, and safety to those within the Task Force Pineapple network. The United States owes its freedom to the sacrifices of its brave military men and women, and now is the time to help veterans, fellow Americans and allies in need. “We hope our contribution to Operation Recovery encourages like-minded businesses and individuals to donate to this time-sensitive operation,” encourages Kemp.

Operation Recovery is incredibly grateful for the support and active involvement from the community. For anyone wishing to contribute, there are many ways to send money. See Operation Recovery’s website (operationrecovery.org) for complete details.

About Operation Recovery

AKTI & W.R. Case Applaud Introduction of Pennsylvania Knife Legislation

Facebook Join My List Logo

Legislation Removes Barrier to Benefit Local Manufacturers

Rep. Martin Causer

Cody, Wyoming (October 1, 2021) – The American Knife & Tool Institute (AKTI) and W. R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company, a Pennsylvania-based knife manufacturer, applaud the introduction of HB 1929 by Representative Martin Causer (R-Turtlepoint) that would provide positive changes for knife owners and manufacturers in Pennsylvania by removing dated prohibitions. This legislation will bring Pennsylvania laws in line with 43 other states and remove barriers that put Pennsylvania-based manufactures at a competitive disadvantage.

“Over the last several years, Case has been growing its business with the help of new technology to deliver an ever-expanding menu of new products. So naturally, the idea of adding automatic knives to our portfolio is of interest to us. At the same time, such a change would allow Pennsylvania residents the opportunity to carry an automatic knife, as citizens from many other U.S. States have done for decades. As a corporate supporter of AKTI, Case would like to recognize their hard work in advocating for this issue, along with Representative Causer for carrying this legislation forward,” stated Mark Paup, President and CEO of Case.

Pennsylvania law prohibits the ownership, possession, manufacture, and sale of automatic knives, commonly used tools in agriculture, the trades, and outdoor enthusiasts such as fishermen and hunters. HB 1929 removes these restrictions and will allow knife manufacturers to make the knives and retailers to sell the knives as is common in other states.

“Pennsylvania knife law changes have been a priority for the American Knife & Tool Institute since 2013,” said CJ Buck, AKTI Legislative Chair and CEO of Buck Knives. “We sincerely thank Representative Causer and all the co-sponsors for their efforts to bring relief to both individuals and knife businesses. Similar legislation has had broad bipartisan support in other states across the country and was signed into law by Republican and Democratic Governors. We look forward to working with the Pennsylvania Legislature to make this bill a law.”

“My bill will repeal an archaic provision in our law and bring it in line with nearly every other state in the nation by allowing for the manufacture, sale, use and possession of automatic knives,” Causer said. “This is a commonsense solution that will be good for Pennsylvania knife owners and good for Pennsylvania knife manufacturers like W. R. Case & Sons.”

Knife laws of all the fifty states and D.C. can be reviewed on the AKTI website www.AKTI.org, as well as detailed articles about understanding knife laws and court decisions.

About AKTI

The American Knife & Tool Institute (AKTI) is the effective non-profit advocacy organization for the knife industry and all knife owners. Its mission is to ensure that Americans will always be able to make, buy, sell, own, carry and use knives and edged tools. Formed in 1998, AKTI is dedicated to educating, promoting, and providing relevant and accurate information about knives and edged tools as important tools in daily American life.  AKTI is recognized worldwide as the most respected, credible, and accurate source of knife law information and legislative input, encouraging reasonable and responsible knife laws and regulations and consistent enforcement. Kalispel Tribe/Kalispel Case Line Becomes Latest Sponsor of NSSF’S Project ChildSafe

Kalispel Tribe/Kalispel Case Line Becomes Latest Sponsor of NSSF’s Project ChildSafe®

Kalispel Case LineNEWTOWN, Conn. – The National Shooting Sports Foundation® (NSSF®), the trade association of the firearm industry, is pleased to announce that the Kalispel Tribe of Indians and its manufacturing company, Kalispel Case Line (KCL), have become a financial sponsor of NSSF’s Project ChildSafe® program.

“The Kalispel Tribe has always prioritized the safety of children, and this is a commitment we take seriously, “ said Curt Holmes, General Manager of Public and Government Affairs for the Kalispel Tribal Economic Authority. “We know home defense is important, but so is firearm security, and we see that philosophy as a perfect match with the mission and work of NSSF and Project ChildSafe.”

NSSF launched Project ChildSafe in 1999 as a nationwide initiative to promote firearms responsibility, provide safety education to all gun owners and help prevent firearm accidents, thefts and misuse. As suicide prevention, especially among tribal communities, has garnered greater national attention, NSSF and Project ChildSafe have been working with several tribal organizations and tribal law enforcement agencies across the country to emphasize the importance of storing firearms securely.

“Kalispel Tribe and its Kalispel Case Line company, which manufactures cases specifically so firearms can be stored securely in the home when not in use, represent exactly the kind of strategic partnership that we know can help save lives,” says Joe Bartozzi, NSSF President and CEO and Chairman of the Project ChildSafe Foundation. “We’re so grateful for their support and really look forward to working with them.”

Project ChildSafe is funded by NSSF member companies and is also supported by the Project ChlidSafe Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charity. The centerpieces of the program are its free firearm safety kits, which include a cable-style gun lock and safety brochure. To date, the program has distributed more than 40 million free gun locks through partnerships with more than 15,000 law enforcement agencies. In recent years, demand for the safety kits and program resources has surged, so donations, grants and corporate sponsorships from partners like the Kalispel Tribe and KCL help NSSF meet the demand. More information on Project ChildSafe sponsorship opportunities can be found on the Project ChildSafe website.

About Project ChildSafe

NSSF, the trade association of the firearms industry, launched Project ChildSafe in 1999 (originally as Project HomeSafe). Since 1999, the program has provided more than 40 million free firearm safety kits and gun locks to firearm owners in all 50 states through partnerships with thousands of law enforcement agencies across the country. That’s in addition to the more than 70 million free locking devices manufacturers have included, and continue to include, with new firearms sold since 1998. While helping to prevent accidents among children is a focus, Project ChildSafe is intended to help adults practice greater firearm safety in the home. More information is available at projectchildsafe.org.

ArachniGRIP Offers Slide Grip for Ruger Max-9

October 1, 2021

ArachniGRIP® Offers Slide Grip for Ruger® MAX-9™

(Parker, CO) – ArachniGRIP®, makers of the patented Slide Spider® semi-auto pistol slide grip, announces the release of a new grip design for the Ruger® MAX-9™ Optic Ready 9mm Sub Compact Pistol.
The new grip is created to exacting standards to be used with, or without, a sighting optic. When the owner of a Ruger® MAX-9™ applies the easy-to-install slide grip to their firearm, it allows them additional gripping surface at the rear slide serrations. This extra grip will let the shooter cycle the slide without using the optic for leverage to rack. Using the slide grip and not the optic will prevent damage and misalignment to the aftermarket sights. The slide grip also greatly increases control of the MAX-9™ even when not adding an optic.
The Ruger® MAX-9™ grip comes available in red (shown) or black and has an MSRP of $19.95.
ArachniGRIP offers slide grips to fit most semi-auto pistols. It is easy to install and extremely durable. The Slide Spider grip products enable the shooter to gain increased control through a safe and secure hold. The products offer additional tactical advantages under challenging operating conditions, including extreme moisture and temperature. In addition, these products aid shooters with weak or weakened hand strength and those with medical conditions such as arthritis.

Night Authorization Available for Part 107 Drone Pilots

Night Authorization Available for Part 107 Drone Pilots

Drone pilots with current Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificates may now obtain near real-time authorizations to fly at night through FAA-approved providers of Low Altitude Authorization and Notification Capability (LAANC) services. LAANC is an automated system for drone pilots requesting to fly below 400 feet in controlled airspace often found around airports. Drone pilots need FAA approval prior to flying in controlled airspace.

In addition to the near real-time night authorizations, drone pilots will have more areas they can fly in since the FAA has divided the airspace into smaller segments. Since April 2021, while LAANC providers updated their software, Part 107 pilots were able to operate in controlled airspace at night with a valid LAANC daytime authorization and an authorization letter from the FAA which expires on September 30. Today’s announcement provides a permanent solution for Part 107 drone pilots to operate in controlled airspace at night.

For more information on night authorizations and additional LAANC announcements, visit the FAA website. For general inquiries on these new regulations and other UAS inquiries, please call 844-FLY-MY-UA or email the FAA.

Four New Must-Have Tools From Fix It Sticks!

Fix It Sticks Introduces Four Must Have Firearms Tool Kit Components

Chicago, IL– Fix It Sticks, the industry innovator of modular firearms maintenance tools and torque limiters has introduced a Brass Pin Punch Set, Extended Action Bits, a Brass Hammer Head bit and 140 Inch Pound Torque Limiter.  These new items significantly increase the functionality of any Fix It Sticks tool system as well as perform as stand-alone products.

Brass Pin Punch Set

The Brass Pin Punch Set is indispensable for any firearms tool kit.  These are perfect for drifting sights, removing trigger group pins, or any other disassembly or assembly of firearms or equipment requiring pin removal and reinstallation.  Pin Punches are in the following sizes: 1/16″, 3/32″, 1/8″, 5/32″, 3/16″ and 1/4″.  Machined form solid bar stock, the Brass Pin Punches have steel inserts in the base to work with magnetic drivers .  The Brass Pin Punch Set works with the Fix It Sticks system as well as any other ¼ hex driver and has an MSRP of $30.00

Extended Action Bits

Action screws can be difficult to reach depending on trigger guards, magazine wells, etc.  The new Fix It Sticks Extended Action Bits are designed to work with these hard to reach screws.  Made with a ball end hex head to allow maximum access to screws, the Extended Action Bits are available in  3/16″ for Remington 700, AICS and similar, 5/32″ for Ruger 10/22 V-Block and similar, 1/8″ for KIDD, and T30 for numerous Precision Rifles (T30 is not a Ball End).  These integrate with the Fix It Sticks tool system as well as work with any ¼” hex driver and have an MSRP of $8.00 each.

Brass Hammer Head

A small hammer can be indispensable when out in the field, but is seldom if ever something on hand when needed.  Fix It Sticks solves this issue with the Brass Hammer Head.  Designed with a steel insert to work with magnetic drivers, the Brass Hammer Head is perfect for those firearms related tasks that require tapping and light hammer strikes.  The Brass Hammer Head is now available with an MSRP of $8.00

140 Inch Pound Torque Limiter

For fasteners requiring substantial torque, Fix It Sticks now offers a 140 Inch Pound Torque Limiter.  The preset torque limiters also use ¼” bits and tighten to the specified inch/lbs at which point they spin freely. Fix It Sticks torque limiters will work with any ¼” bit driver.  The 140 Inch Pound Torque Limiter is now available with an MSRP of $45.00

About Fix It Sticks:  Fix It Sticks is a highly modular multi-tool system featuring a variety of specialty tools and torque limiters, along with standard 1/4″ bits, to keep your gear running at the range and in the field.  Unlike other multi-tools out there, which compromise function for portability, Fix It Sticks uses a T-handle concept to give you the best of both worlds: shop level function, paired with light weight and portability.

Revision Awarded Contract to Supply Prescription Carriers to U.S. Troops

ESSEX JUNCTION, VERMONT (September 30, 2021)Revision Military has been awarded a contract with the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) to supply Universal Prescription Lens Carriers (UPLC) over the next five years. The contract, issued by DLA Troop Support, has an estimated value of up to $37.5 million, began on September 17, 2021 and is for one three-year base period and two one-year option periods. Revision has been the incumbent supplier of the UPLC to DLA since 2013, when the U.S. Army moved to a single prescription carrier solution for all Rx-capable eyewear on the Authorized Protective Eyewear List (APEL). The customizable UPLC allows for an individual prescription to be filled into the carrier by an optometrist, and the carrier fits securely behind the standard lens of their ballistic eyewear.

“Over the past 8 years, Revision has delivered thousands of UPLCs to DLA which have been issued widely across the U.S. military branches,” said Revision CEO Amy Coyne. “Revision recognizes the unique challenges for an end-user that requires vision correction and provides a universal vision correction solution that can be used across multiple styles and brands of protective eyewear without compromising end user protection.”

Revision’s Prescription Rx Carrier accommodates single vision prescriptions up to +/-11 and fits into the Revision Sawfly® and StingerHawk® Spectacles, and Desert Locust®, SnowHawk®, and Bullet Ant® Goggles. Its secure press-fit design ensures that it is properly positioned every time and its rugged and ergonomically designed frame provides wide field-of-view and durability. Smith & Wesson to Relocate Headquarters to Tennessee

Move includes headquarters and significant portion of operations due to changing business climate for firearms manufacturing in Massachusetts

SPRINGFIELD, Mass., Sept. 30, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — Smith & Wesson Brands, Inc. (NASDAQ Global Select: SWBI), one of the nation’s oldest firearms manufacturers, announced today that it is moving its headquarters and significant elements of its operations to Maryville, Tennessee in 2023.   Smith & Wesson has been based in Springfield, Massachusetts since the company was incorporated in 1852.

Smith & Wesson Logo (PRNewsFoto/Smith & Wesson)

Mark Smith, President and Chief Executive Officer, said “This has been an extremely difficult and emotional decision for us, but after an exhaustive and thorough analysis, for the continued health and strength of our iconic company, we feel that we have been left with no other alternative.”  He specifically cited legislation recently proposed in Massachusetts that, if enacted, would prohibit the company from manufacturing certain firearms in the state. “These bills would prevent Smith & Wesson from manufacturing firearms that are legal in almost every state in America and that are safely used by tens of millions of law-abiding citizens every day exercising their Constitutional 2nd Amendment rights, protecting themselves and their families, and enjoying the shooting sports. While we are hopeful that this arbitrary and damaging legislation will be defeated in this session, these products made up over 60% of our revenue last year, and the unfortunate likelihood that such restrictions would be raised again led to a review of the best path forward for Smith & Wesson.”

Smith indicated that the company vetted a number of cities and states and, after careful consideration, made the decision to relocate 750 jobs and its headquarters to Maryville, Tennessee.  The key factors in the decision included the following:

  • Support for the 2nd Amendment
  • Business friendly environment
  • Quality of life for employees
  • Cost of living and affordability
  • Access to higher education institutions
  • Availability of qualified labor for its operations and headquarter functions
  • Favorable location for efficiency of distribution

Smith continued, “The strong support we have received from the State of Tennessee and the entire leadership of Blount County throughout this process, combined with the quality of life, outdoor lifestyle, and low cost of living in the Greater Knoxville area has left no doubt that Tennessee is the ideal location for Smith & Wesson’s new headquarters. We would like to specifically thank Governor Lee for his decisive contributions and the entire state legislature for their unwavering support of the 2nd Amendment and for creating a welcoming, business friendly environment.”

Smith & Wesson will also close facilities in Connecticut and Missouri as part of consolidating in Tennessee. This process will result in the company reducing the number of locations it maintains from four to three and will significantly streamline its manufacturing and distribution operations.

The company emphasized that the move will not begin until 2023 and will not have an impact on employees’ jobs until then.  “Our loyal employees are the reason for our success and are always our number one priority. We are deeply saddened by the impact that this difficult decision will have on so many of our dedicated employees, but in order to preserve future jobs and for the viability of our business in the long term, we are left with no choice but to relocate these functions to a state that does not propose burdensome restrictions on our company.” Smith said. “We are making this announcement now to ensure that each employee has the time to make the decision that is right for them and their families. We are firmly committed to working on an individual level with each and every one of those who will be affected. We will assist any affected employee who is willing and able to move with financial and logistical relocation assistance. However, we also fully realize that this is simply not feasible for some. Therefore, for any affected employee who cannot move with us, we will offer enhanced severance and job placement services. We understand that this announcement will be very difficult for our employees, and we will do everything we can to assist them during this transition,” Smith said. All employees whose jobs are moved will be given these offers.

Key Facts:

  • The facility in Springfield, Massachusetts will be reconfigured but will remain operational.
  • Smith & Wesson will keep some of its manufacturing operations in Springfield, Massachusetts, including all forging, machining, metal finishing, and assembly of revolvers, and will continue to have over 1,000 employees in the state.
  • The new facility will be built in Maryville, Tennessee and will comprise of the company’s headquarters, plastic injection molding, pistol and long gun assembly, and distribution.
  • Total investment in the project is estimated at $120 million, will be funded from cash on hand, and is expected to be accretive to EPS by $0.10 to $0.12 per year once fully operational.
  • Construction in Maryville, Tennessee is expected to begin in the calendar fourth quarter of 2021 and be substantially complete by the summer of 2023.
  • Upwards of 750 jobs will move from Springfield, Massachusetts; Deep River, Connecticut; and Columbia, Missouri to Maryville, Tennessee.
  • The company’s plastic injection molding facility in Deep River, Connecticut, which services both Smith & Wesson as well as a significant number of external customers, will be sold. The Smith & Wesson portion of the operations will be moved to the new facility in Maryville, Tennessee, however, the external customer business will remain in Connecticut and will be divested.
  • The company’s distribution operations in Columbia, Missouri will be moved to the new facility in Maryville, Tennessee, and the Columbia, Missouri facility will be marketed for sublease.
  • The relocation will have no impact on the company’s operations in Houlton, Maine.
  • The company will host a conference call September 30, 2021, to discuss the relocation. Speakers on the conference call will include Mark Smith, President and Chief Executive Officer, and Deana McPherson, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Smith & Wesson’s Tennessee Move Follows Migration Pattern to States Respecting Firearm Industry Contributions

For immediate release | September 30, 2021

Smith & Wesson’s Tennessee Move Follows Migration Pattern to States Respecting Firearm Industry Contributions

Smith & Wesson

NEWTOWN, Conn. — The National Shooting Sports Foundation® (NSSF®), the firearm industry trade association, noted that the announcement from Smith & Wesson Brands, Inc., of their plan to move their headquarters and a large portion of their operations to Tennessee is just the latest of a series firearm and ammunition manufacturers moving to states with strong Second Amendment traditions. Smith & Wesson announced their plans to relocate headquarters and assembly operations from Springfield, Mass., to Maryville, Tenn.

“This follows a pattern of firearm and ammunition manufacturers that are migrating to states that respect the contributions of the firearm industry and respect the Second Amendment rights of those who purchase their products,” said Lawrence G. Keane, NSSF Senior Vice President and General Counsel. “The decision to expand production by any firearm manufacturer is indicative of the strong and vibrant market of lawful gun ownership. Firearm sales have been at record levels for more than 18 months and this investment in the future shows that the leading firearms manufacturers see a market with continued room for growth.”

Smith & Wesson’s new Tennessee home is familiar with firearm manufacturing. Earlier this year Troy Manufacturing announced it was moving production from West Springfield, Mass, to Clarksville, Tenn. Beretta U.S.A. Corporation moved production from Maryland to Gallatin, Tenn., in 2016 and Barrett Firearms is headquartered in Murfreesboro, Tenn.

Smith & Wesson will add 750 jobs to the state and invest over $125 million to build a new state of the art facility. The firearm industry already employs nearly 7,800 people in Tennessee through direct or indirect jobs and contributes over $1.07 billion in economic impact. The firearm industry pays $130.5 million in federal and state taxes annually and contributed an additional $22.1 million in excise taxes that benefit wildlife conservation.

Smith & Wesson’s announced expansion into Tennessee is the latest of states that respect the rights of law-abiding citizens attracting firearm and ammunition manufacturers to move or expand.

· Alabama

  • · Remington Outdoor Company moved much of its production from New York to Huntsville.
  • · Kimber expanded production to Troy, over Yonkers, N.Y. It later relocated the corporate headquarters to Alabama.

· Iowa

  • · Les Baer moved from restrictive Illinois to LeClaire, Iowa, in 2007.
  • · Lewis Machine & Tool Company (LMT) left Illinois after 40 years to relocate to Iowa in 2019.

· Mississippi

  • · Olin Corporation’s Winchester Ammunition moved from East Alton, Ill., to Oxford in 2011.

· North Carolina

  • · Sturm, Ruger and Co. expanded production in Mayodan in 2013.

· Pennsylvania

· Kahr Arms moved their headquarters to Greely, Penn., from New York after the state rushed through passage of the SAFE Act.

· South Carolina

  • · American Tactical Imports relocated 100 jobs and its manufacturing from Rochester, N.Y., to Summerville, S.C., in 2013.
  • · PTR Industries left Connecticut for Aynor in 2013, where it set up shop.

· Tennessee

  • · Beretta moved firearm production and engineering and design to Gallatin, Tenn., from Maryland in 2015 over concerns of increasingly strict gun control legislation.

· Texas

  • · Mossberg expanded production in Eagle Pass, Texas, in 2013, instead of growing its New Haven, Conn., plant.
  • · Colt Competition moved from Canby, Ore., to Breckenridge, Texas, in 2013.

· Wyoming

  • · Magpul Industries left Boulder, Colo., after the state passed magazine restrictions and moved production to Laramie, Wyo.
  • · Weatherby Inc.’s Adam Weatherby announced at SHOT Show in 2018 he was moving the company from California to Sheridan, Wyo.
  • · Accessories maker HiViz announced in 2013 they were leaving Fort Collins, Colo., over restrictive gun control legislation to Laramie.
  • · Stag Arms announced in 2019 they were opening their new facility in Cheyenne, Wyo., after leaving their former headquarters in New Britain, Conn.

EOTECH® .300 Blackout HWS with Ballistic Reticle

EOTECH® .300 Blackout HWS with Ballistic Reticle

Ann Arbor, MI (September 28, 2021) – The .300 Blackout is an exceptional intermediate cartridge born from special operations’ demands for superior performance over the 5.56 NATO while still using familiar weapon systems. The .300 Blackout delivers flatter trajectories and excellent terminal ballistics with supersonic ammunition or a quiet yet powerful option with subsonic rounds. EOTECH has developed a cartridge-specific optic that maximizes this versatile round.

The EOTECH XPS2-300™ HWS works with both ammo types thanks to a specially calibrated, two-dot ballistic drop reticle. It allows zeroing for both subsonic and supersonic .300 Blackout rounds using the same reticle for instant access to both zeros where and when needed. The XPS2-300 model features a laser-etched ballistic drop diagram on the housing, which provides a quick reference for subsonic and supersonic ammunition drop data.

At only 3.8-inches long and a mere 9-ounces, shooters will love EOTECH’s shortest and lightest HWS sight. Its compact profile pairs perfectly on short-barreled weapon systems such as those used on some .300 Blackout rifles. A single CR123 battery powers the sight, adding to its sleek design. The XPS2-300’s small footprint leaves ample rail space for rear iron sights or magnifiers, making it a go-to mission adaptable holographic weapons system.

The XPS2-300 includes a waterproof housing, long battery life, and 20 daylight brightness settings. User-friendly features like auto battery check and auto shutdown ensure the sight powers up when needed and the large 68MOA ring and (2) 1MOA aiming dots offer uncompromising speed and precision for critical shot placement.

Like all EOTECH products, the XPS2-300 is rugged and reliable. The waterproof, fog-proof, battle-tested sight works even if the sight window breaks or becomes partially obstructed. The EOTECH HWS XPS2 is proudly made in the USA and is backed by EOTECH’s 10-year Prestige Warranty.

Team Federal Finished Strong at the 2021 Microtech Pro-Am 3-Gun Championship

Federal AmmunitionANOKA, Minnesota – September 28, 2021 – Team Federal had an impressive finish at the 2021 Microtech Pro-Am 3-Gun Championship held at the Clinton House Plantation in Clinton, South Carolina, September 24-26. Team Federal finished second place as a Pro-Am team, with team member Tucker Schmidt finishing 2nd overall out of 186 shooters. Federal Ammunition was a Premier Level sponsor of the event.

This Pro-Am style match is intended to introduce new shooters to the world of 3-Gun competitions. There were nine total stages that required competitors to execute their game plan and their fundamentals with rifle, pistol and shotgun. Each amateur is paired with an experienced pro shooter and the pro is encouraged to assist the amateur while shooting.

“Donnie Flowe and the crew at Clinton House Plantation put an amazing event together. The stages were well designed and challenged both pro and amateur shooters to execute their game plan and their fundamentals,” said Federal Shooting Sports Promotions Manager Jason Spradling. “It was really good to see so many amateur shooters express a serious interest in getting involved in 3-Gun competitions.”

Schmidt’s ammunition used at the match included American Eagle 223 Rem. 55-grain FMJ, Federal Gold Medal 223 Rem. 69-grain Sierra MatchKing, Federal Gold Medal Grand 12-gauge loads, and 9mm Major handloads with Federal primers.

“I love taking part in these events and helping newer shooters experience the competition and camaraderie of 3-Gun. It’s so much fun to see them begin to understand the game and apply their skill sets to the challenges of the course,” said Schmidt. “In these matches, there is no room for any kind of malfunction, and misses will kill your score. My Federal ammo performed flawlessly all three days and I was able to earn a second place trophy, just a couple of points behind the leader.”

RCBS® Launches New and Improved Reloading App

RCBSApp (002)

RCBS® Launches New and Improved Reloading App

RCBS App for iOS and Android Puts More Precision at Shooters’ Fingertips

OROVILLE, Calif. – September 28, 2021 – RCBS®, the leading manufacturer of ammunition reloading equipment for rifles and pistols, is pleased to announce the launch of its new and improved RCBS app, now available to download free for both Apple and Android devices.

The recently released app goes above and beyond with the ability to work across the entire lineup of RCBS Bluetooth-enabled dispensers: MatchMaster, ChargeMaster Supreme and ChargeMaster Link. With the app at a user’s fingertips, calibrating any of these dispensers is a breeze.

Once calibrated, a user can go straight to dispensing, entering in powder information and required dispensation weights. When paired with the MatchMaster, dispensing can be completely customized as well. Each loading session provides intelligent feedback, including notations on over- and under-charges, length of the session, and number of charges thrown, all of which aids the shooter during future loading sessions.

At the range, the RCBS app’s “Load Log” tracks the progress of your reloading / handloading process. Start by creating a firearm profile with make, model, cartridge, round count, rate of twist, scope manufacturer, scope height, free-bore length and any other data that might affect accuracy. Then create a new load profile, entering critical load data such as:

Bullet manufacturer, model, weight and dimensions
Powder charge weight and dispenser device information
Powder manufacturer, type, lot number, production date and date the container was first opened

The app also allows a shooter to enter range conditions including range name, date, temperature, humidity, elevation, barometric pressure, latitude and longitude, and wind (cardinal wind direction, clock wind direction and wind speed). From there it’s all about shooting and recording groups. Users can upload photos – groups, changes to cases post-firing, etc. – for future reference. With the virtual “Reloading Bench,” users can also keep track of all their RCBS products.

“We’re pretty excited about the new app and how complete it is,” said Will Hemeyer, senior product manager for RCBS. “You can use it all or in part. The new app is a perfect way to let shooters wring every benefit they can from their RCBS dispenser and, in turn, help perfect their custom load so that each bullet has unparalleled repeatability.”

The new RCBS app comes with phone and email tech support, so shooters have easy access to assistance at home or in the field. To learn more about the RCBS app or to see the full lineup of Bluetooth-enabled RCBS products, visit RCBS.com.
