RCBS® ChargeMaster™ Supreme Accelerates Accurate Reloading

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – October 6, 2021 – RCBS®, the leading manufacturer of ammunition reloading equipment for rifles and pistols, has announced the introduction of the new ChargeMaster™ Supreme powder dispenser. Taking reloading to the next level, the ChargeMaster Supreme combines RCBS precision with automatic adjustments and Bluetooth® compatibility to make reloading easier than ever.

The RCBS ChargeMaster Supreme features a Proprietary Learning Mode which uses a unique feedback loop and algorithms to automatically adjust dispensing speeds and stop points. This two-minute process allows the Supreme to learn the unique characteristics of the powder being dispensed. Once it has been ran, normal sized charges will typically dispense in less than 15 seconds.

“The Chargemaster Supreme is the next evolution in powder dispenser technology,” said Will Hemeyer, Sr. Product Manager for RCBS. “Our patent pending learn process is quick, efficient and easy to use. This function makes sure your powder throws are optimized to the powder you are using, plus the process only takes a few minutes to run and once it does your dispense times are significantly reduced. The Chargemaster Supreme is sure to be the only dispenser most handloaders will need on their bench.”

In addition, the ChargeMaster Supreme is Bluetooth compatible, which allows the user to dispense charges and operate the dispenser hands-free from their phone with the newly redesigned RCBS app. The updated app also offers a virtual reloading bench, a comprehensive load data log, and convenient access to the technical service team to help answer any technical questions a handloader might have.

The ChargeMaster Supreme boasts 0.1-grain accuracy and a 1500-grain load cell capacity. The unit can run on an external battery, meaning reloaders can operate it at home or in the field without being tied to power cords.

The ChargeMaster Supreme has an MSRP of $499.95. For more information or to view other RCBS reloading products, visit RCBS.com.

The Escort DF12 Modern Sporting Shotgun

The Escort DF12 Modern Sporting Shotgun

Bentonville, AR (October 5, 2021) – A bold design loaded with smart features, the Escort DF12 stands out in an ever-growing world of modern shotguns. This auto-loader is a sporting enthusiast’s dream and is ideal for close-range hunting applications. Using the modern sporting rifle design and capitalizing on adaptable features, the DF12 reaches beyond its potential as a mere shotgun. Its 5-piece multi-choke system accommodates heavy slugs as well as it does light bird shot, making it a great all-around option for a wide variety of game.

With an overall weight of 8.9 lbs., this shotgun is manufactured from tough aircraft grade alloy. The upper and lower receivers are overbuilt with a robust construction that is meant to take a beating. The semi-automatic DF12 runs on a gas-powered system, similar to those found in traditional autoloading shotguns, but without the added bulk of a tube below the barrel.

The DF12 comes outfitted with an Escort standard oxidation-proof, chrome plated, drilled steel barrel. To ensure the utmost strength, each barrel is proof tested at the factory. A muzzle cover protects the barrel and locks the forend into place, adding to the robustness and modularity of this shotgun platform.

The DF12 makes field-stripping and cleaning a breeze. The upper and lower receivers are detachable, much like their modern sporting rifle brethren, allowing enthusiasts to feel at home with this shotgun.

Escort helps usher shotguns into the 21 st Century with amenities that make the DF12 a joy to shoot. A reversible bolt-cocking handle enables ambidextrous operation and ease of use for all shooters. Picatinny rails have been meticulously crafted into upper receiver forend, providing real estate for shooting accessories. An elevation adjustable cheek rest allows optimal sight alignment with both open sights and mounted optics.

Ballistic: Four Steps to Fall Hunting Success

Gainesville, GA (October 5, 2021) Fall hunting season is here, and now is the time to get your hunting rifle ready. The smart hunter will use Ballistic and our 4-Step Process to ensure their shooting preparation is as efficient as possible.

STEP 1: Chronographing

At the shooting range, begin by chronographing the various hunting rounds to be used later in the season to true the rifle and calculate accurate muzzle velocity. Then use this data to start building a Ballistic Profile for each hunting round.

STEP 2: Zeroing

Next, the hunter needs to zero each round at 100 yards.

Once the 100-yard zero is established, it’s time to reach out further. If the shooting range has 200- and 300-yard and longer opportunities, practice at these distances. If the range is limited to 100-yard shots, find some wide-open land and set up targets at various distances.

The longer-distance practice will make a hunter familiar with the bullet drop and wind adjustments needed in the field, and Ballistic will provide those holdover and windage points.

STEP 3: Targets

Longer-distance shooting also lets the hunter see how targets look at various distances. Speaking of targets, investing in life-sized paper game targets can be a huge help, too. When these life-sized targets are arranged at various distances, hunters become familiar with how animals will appear at these distances through their optics.

STEP 4: Environmentals

Practice during windy days is also a must! That left-to-right breeze likely won’t make much difference for a 100-yard shot. However, many hunters are amazed to discover just how much bullet drift even a 5 M.P.H. breeze can create at 400-plus yards.

With Ballistic, shooters and hunters can input wind speed and direction in a manner of ways. Angle inputs (e.g., 90° = crosswind left to right) are possible for the wind direction or the O’clock format (e.g., 3:00 will automatically translate to 90°) can be used, too. Headwinds can also be added in, and Ballistic will automatically adjust velocity to account for the headwind calculation.

Working Ballistic into these practice sessions will pay big dividends when hunting. Just as they would in the fields during the season, hunters practicing for the fall should regularly update Ballistic’s environmental inputs, including wind speed and directions.

A little prep with Ballistic can mean a fall full of hunting trophies!

Ballistic is the definitive ballistics trajectory calculator, intended for long-range and precision shooters who want a serious–and a seriously accurate–application. Ballistic will calculate your bullet’s trajectory, windage, velocity, energy, lead, and flight time for any valid range. The app can also compensate for atmospheric conditions such as temperature, barometric pressure, humidity, and altitude–it can even accept density of air or density altitude inputs! The world-renowned JBM Ballistics engine powers all Ballistic computations. Ballistic is used by competition shooters, long-range hunters, and the military to deliver the most precise calculations possible.

With Ballistic, you’ll be able to make the most accurate calculations for every shot, everywhere, even in areas with no cellular coverage.

U.S. LawShield® Praises CCDL on Improving Pistol Permit Delays

U.S. LAWSHIELD® PRAISES CONNECTICUT CITIZENS DEFENSE LEAGUE ON IMPROVING PISTOL PERMIT DELAYS

Federal Lawsuit Success

Houston, Texas – October 5, 2021 – U.S. LawShield®, industry leader and America’s largest provider of Legal Defense for Self Defense® coverage and proud supporter of the Connecticut Citizens Defense League (CCDL), praises the organization for its role in facilitating a timelier application process for Connecticut citizens to obtain firearm permits in the City of Bridgeport.

“U.S. LawShield stood in firm support of the CCDL when they took the City of Bridgeport to federal court for violating the Second Amendment rights of its citizens,” said P.J. Hermosa, CEO of U.S. LawShield. “When bureaucrats attempt to infringe on people’s right to self-defense, it is time for action. We proudly offer our assistance to organizations like the CCDL when it comes to preserving the constitutional rights of people burdened with barriers such as those happening in Connecticut.”

In August, the CCDL filed a federal civil lawsuit against the City of Bridgeport (and others) for illegally delaying city residents’ applications for municipal firearm permits. That application is only the first step in the lengthy process of obtaining a state-issued pistol permit. Since the legal action occurred, the City of Bridgeport has reformed its practices to allow applicants a much faster process.

According to CCDL President Holly Sullivan, “Imagine the stress of waiting numerous months or even years to apply for your firearm permit. Law-abiding citizens should not have to suffer or forgo their right to bear arms because of unwarranted delays. Rest assured, the CCDL will keep an eye on how long the City of Bridgeport takes to process those applications and will act again if required,” she added.

“The burden and expense of legal action are difficult for individuals to manage on their own, and that is why our partnership with U.S. LawShield is so crucial. Their financial support allows us to work on behalf of our citizens and further protect their Second Amendment rights,” she said.

“The CCDL’s victory in Connecticut is a positive outcome for the residents of Bridgeport,” said Hermosa. “We remain unwavering in our commitment to protect the rights of law-abiding gun owners by supporting organizations like the CCDL,” he stated.

About Connecticut Citizens Defense League

The Connecticut Citizens Defense League (CCDL) is a non-profit, non-partisan, grassroots organization devoted to advocating rights affirmed by the Constitution of the United States of America and the State of Connecticut. We are especially dedicated to protecting the unalienable right of all citizens to keep and bear arms, for the defense of both self and state, through public enlightenment and legislative action. We welcome anyone who believes that the defense of our constitutional rights is critical to the longevity of our freedom and to the success of this nation and that the rights to self-defense and to keep and bear arms to actualize that defense are fundamental and undeniable.

Rafael unveils BNET NANO Software Defined Radio

Rafael unveils BNET NANO Software Defined Radio

The new palm-sized form factor shares the same technological advancements of the BNET family that include scalability, multi-channel reception, spectrum superiority, and more

Tel Aviv, October 4, 2021 – Rafael Advanced Defense Systems Ltd. introduces BNET NANO, its newest member of the BENT SDR Family.

BNET NANO brings groundbreaking capabilities to the battlefield, based on Rafael’s game-changing Multi-Channel Reception (MCR) technology, unprecedented network capacity in terms of data rates and number of users, minimal delay, and support for “flat” networks with hundreds of members.

BNET cognitively manages scarce spectrum resources, providing seamless force merge with minimal planning and efficient spectrum usage. The radio works in GPS-denied areas, a growingly typical scenario in today’s battlefield. BNET is able to sense and avoid spectrum interference and operates as a LPI/LPD device in dense environments.

VP, Yoav Wermuth, head of Rafael’s C3I directorate: “The BNET NANO radio is a significant advancement to soldiers and platforms that are very weight and power aware. Rafael’s BNET MCR patent has been integrated into a small form factor allowing the operation of several voice groups, data streams and video, all in a single device. The MCR technology breaks the paradigm of a radio that has single channels, and allows the simultaneous reception of  dozens of channels.”

Amihai Dekel, BD Director at Rafael’s C3I directorate, added: “Our solution, encapsulated in a box the size of a soldier’s palm is a breakthrough that can address many tactical programs that have previously run into capacity restrictions. This technology finally enables the capacity and connectivity of hundreds of units, without burdening the soldier with several communication boxes that all require SWaP.”

BNET NANO (002)

BNET is a lightweight radio unit enabling point-to-point and point-to-multipoint topology and an Ad Hoc Mesh Network, supporting complete brigade area-of operation connectivity with a unique SDR full IP design.

BNET NANO will be exhibited in upcoming international defense shows, including AUSA Washington DC, SITDEF Peru, Expodefensa in Colombia, FEINDEF in Spain, ADEX Korea and others.

Galco’s Chest Holsters!

Phoenix, October 2021

Ideal for both handgun hunting and protection while fishing, camping or hiking in bear country, Galco’s chest holsters position the handgun on the torso, keeping the handgun clear of gear carried near the waistline. This also helps keep the handgun dry when wading, and is a great choice for riding, whether on an ATV or horseback.

Carrying a large-frame revolver or auto in the torso position, the Great Alaskan™ is ideal for protection when hunting, fishing, camping or hiking in bear country. Constructed of premium steerhide, the holster component is fully lined with smooth leather. The harness pivots at the holster attachment points for comfort, while its 2” width at the shoulder distributes weight extremely effectively.

Designed to keep a large hunting handgun both comfortable and accessible, Galco’s Kodiak™ and Kodiak Hunter™ Chest Holsters carry the gun diagonally across the torso. Using the same principles as modern backpacks, a padded shoulder strap is used in conjunction with a torso strap that allows for instant adjustments throughout a day spent afield. As the torso strap is tightened, weight is shifted off the shoulder strap, allowing for a full day of comfortable field carry.

The Kodiak carries unscoped revolvers, while the Kodiak Hunter is designed for scoped revolvers and single-shot pistols. The Kodiak Hunter’s holster component is designed for an abbreviated draw stroke through its open top, for much faster target acquisition than a typical scabbard-style holster.

All three chest holsters’ positioning at the front of the body offers a fast and simple draw. An outdoorsman’s holster also needs to retain the handgun in the rough-and-tumble hunting and hiking fields, so Galco’s chest holsters all offer secure retention with a simple safety strap featuring a glove-friendly polymer finger tab. Holster, harness and straps all come ready for easy end-user adjustment.

Team Federal Finished Strong at the 2021 USPSA Walther Arms Area 4 Championship

ANOKA, Minnesota – October 5, 2021 – Team Federal had an impressive finish at the USPSA 2021 Walther Arms Area 4 Championship, recently held at the United States Shooting Academy in Tulsa, Oklahoma. USPSA Area 4 consists of Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Arkansas although competitors from around the world are able to compete. There were 305 shooters on hand competing in seven divisions – Open, Carry Optics, Limited, Single Stack, Production, Revolver and PCC.

“In a major match like this, winning or losing can come down to a tenth of a second. Your ammunition has to be accurate and dependable in order to perform well,” said Federal Shooting Sports Promotions Manager Jason Spradling. “I’m proud that these team members rely on Federal Syntech Action Pistol to help them achieve their goals.”

Grant Kunkel finished fifth overall and second in the PCC division. Tim Herron won first place the Single Stack division. Cory Klemashevich finished sixth in the PCC division. All of these shooters use 9mm Syntech Action Pistol (AE9SJAP1).

“I was able to bring home another Area Championship win in Single Stack division with Federal Premium Syntech Action Pistol,” said Tim Herron. “I achieved my personal goal during this match which was to push my performance and finish as the highest overall of the low-capacity divisions of Single Stack and Production. What an outstanding match with a great squad!”

“It was great shooting with my Federal teammates and pushing each other to perform at our best,” said Grant Kunkel. “The transition from Steel Challenge to USPSA has been challenging and I’m proud to have earned a second place finish for PCC. I’m excited to go shoot USPSA Nationals next month.”

“The competition in the PCC division was fierce, and I was proud to be able to earn a sixth place finish in a stacked field,” said Cory Klemashevich. “There is no way to compete at this level if your equipment is not completely squared away. I know that I can trust my Federal Syntech ammunition to perform flawlessly every time.”

Syntech Action Pistol is specifically designed for the action shooting sports and loaded to power factor requirements with heavy, flatter-nosed bullets for more reliable knock-downs on steel targets in competition. Like all Syntech loads, they feature the exclusive Total Synthetic Jacket (TSJ), which prevents metal-on-metal contact between the bullet and barrel, eliminating copper and lead fouling as well as reducing damaging heat and friction. Combined with clean-burning powders and the Catalyst lead-free primer, Syntech Action Pistol provides the softest-shooting and most reliable performance possible for high-volume competitive shooters and is the official ammunition of USPSA.

The Strike Industries OPPRESSOR Universal is a blast shield that works with almost any muzzle device on the market that has a maximum outer diameter of 25.00mm (0.98”). This OPPRESSOR U version works just like the rest of the SI OPPRESSOR family and redirects blast and sound while maintaining the recoil reduction of muzzle devices. Designed with a SI proprietary 3-lug quick detach base, the OPPRESSOR Universal is easily installed and removed with a push and a slight turn. Install SI OPPRESSOR Universal 3-lug QD base, the included correct sized crush washer, properly set the timing/alignment of your muzzle device and you are ready to go. Fire your weapon with or without the OPPRESSOR Universal on. The OPPRESSOR family is multi-caliber compatible with .223/5.56, .308/7.62 and 9mm calibers. The OPPRESSOR U is made of a steel core with a 6061-T6 aluminum body and is anodized in SI Black, Red, Blue and FDE. The Universal continues the SI OPPRESSOR line for redirecting the gas pressure produced by aggressive brakes and compensators. Advanced internal geometry actively draws the gasses out and thrusts the gasses forward through ports to accomplish linear braking in order to retain more efficiency. EOTECH® Supports Operation Recovery’s Critical Mission with $50K Donation

Ann Arbor, MI (October 1, 2021) – Afghanistan is in the midst of a crisis. Unknown numbers of Americans and Afghan allies are in desperate need of assistance. Operation Recovery, a group of individuals who served in Afghanistan, vows not to sit idly by while so many lives are in jeopardy. Operation Recovery is a charitable organization who supports the efforts of Task Force Pineapple, a group of U.S. veterans who are working to repatriate American Citizens and Afghan allies by helping fund safe cover, movement, and medical services to injured and displaced people.

All donations, including a major contribution from EOTECH, directly influence operations for the movement of at-risk individuals out of Afghanistan as well as continuing efforts for resettlement and reintegration once back in the United States at the community level. It is expected that Operation Recovery will take on a full spectrum of refugee aid in the coming months and time is of the essence – Operation Recovery’s list of assistance requests has swelled to over 4000 people!

The war in Afghanistan lasted 20 years and has left heroes broken mentally and physically. Some never made it home. Many are still in Afghanistan. EOTECH believes in the time-honored principle of No Man Left Behind. “American patriots and Afghan allies desperately need our help now,” warns Lisa Kemp, EOTECH Director of Marketing. In the true American spirit, EOTECH is donating $50K to Operation Recovery, supporting their grassroots mission of moving people to safety now, as well as the longer-term settlement of our veterans and Afghan allies.

Success stories from Operation Recovery give donors hope and encouragement. Currently, support personnel are caring for over 550 individuals while others are protecting 70+ persons at high risk of reprisal from the Taliban. To date, Operation Recovery has moved over 800 people to safety and there is still a great deal of work left to do amidst many challenges both now and in the future.

Veteran-friendly businesses like EOTECH recognize the urgent need for donations – critical funds that provide transport, food, lodging, medical care, and safety to those within the Task Force Pineapple network. The United States owes its freedom to the sacrifices of its brave military men and women, and now is the time to help veterans, fellow Americans and allies in need. “We hope our contribution to Operation Recovery encourages like-minded businesses and individuals to donate to this time-sensitive operation,” encourages Kemp.

Operation Recovery is incredibly grateful for the support and active involvement from the community. For anyone wishing to contribute, there are many ways to send money. See Operation Recovery’s website (operationrecovery.org) for complete details.

AKTI & W.R. Case Applaud Introduction of Pennsylvania Knife Legislation

Facebook Join My List Logo

Legislation Removes Barrier to Benefit Local Manufacturers

Rep. Martin Causer

Cody, Wyoming (October 1, 2021) – The American Knife & Tool Institute (AKTI) and W. R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company, a Pennsylvania-based knife manufacturer, applaud the introduction of HB 1929 by Representative Martin Causer (R-Turtlepoint) that would provide positive changes for knife owners and manufacturers in Pennsylvania by removing dated prohibitions. This legislation will bring Pennsylvania laws in line with 43 other states and remove barriers that put Pennsylvania-based manufactures at a competitive disadvantage.

“Over the last several years, Case has been growing its business with the help of new technology to deliver an ever-expanding menu of new products. So naturally, the idea of adding automatic knives to our portfolio is of interest to us. At the same time, such a change would allow Pennsylvania residents the opportunity to carry an automatic knife, as citizens from many other U.S. States have done for decades. As a corporate supporter of AKTI, Case would like to recognize their hard work in advocating for this issue, along with Representative Causer for carrying this legislation forward,” stated Mark Paup, President and CEO of Case.

Pennsylvania law prohibits the ownership, possession, manufacture, and sale of automatic knives, commonly used tools in agriculture, the trades, and outdoor enthusiasts such as fishermen and hunters. HB 1929 removes these restrictions and will allow knife manufacturers to make the knives and retailers to sell the knives as is common in other states.

“Pennsylvania knife law changes have been a priority for the American Knife & Tool Institute since 2013,” said CJ Buck, AKTI Legislative Chair and CEO of Buck Knives. “We sincerely thank Representative Causer and all the co-sponsors for their efforts to bring relief to both individuals and knife businesses. Similar legislation has had broad bipartisan support in other states across the country and was signed into law by Republican and Democratic Governors. We look forward to working with the Pennsylvania Legislature to make this bill a law.”

“My bill will repeal an archaic provision in our law and bring it in line with nearly every other state in the nation by allowing for the manufacture, sale, use and possession of automatic knives,” Causer said. “This is a commonsense solution that will be good for Pennsylvania knife owners and good for Pennsylvania knife manufacturers like W. R. Case & Sons.”

Knife laws of all the fifty states and D.C. can be reviewed on the AKTI website www.AKTI.org, as well as detailed articles about understanding knife laws and court decisions.

About AKTI

The American Knife & Tool Institute (AKTI) is the effective non-profit advocacy organization for the knife industry and all knife owners. Its mission is to ensure that Americans will always be able to make, buy, sell, own, carry and use knives and edged tools. Formed in 1998, AKTI is dedicated to educating, promoting, and providing relevant and accurate information about knives and edged tools as important tools in daily American life.  AKTI is recognized worldwide as the most respected, credible, and accurate source of knife law information and legislative input, encouraging reasonable and responsible knife laws and regulations and consistent enforcement. This year, RCBS released two new powder dispensers, the ChargeMaster Link and ChargeMaster Supreme. The Link is built off the rock-solid load cell and electronics found in the popular RCBS ChargeMaster Lite, but now offers best-in-class Bluetooth® technology to make reloading easier than ever. The Supreme also features Bluetooth as well as feedback loop algorithms and automatic adjustments as part of its exclusive “Learn Mode” function that helps to make reloading easier than ever.

Products from all three brands will be heavily featured on the prize table and attendees at this year’s match are encouraged to stop by the booth and talk with brand representatives about their personal reloading and gun care needs.

Kalispel Tribe/Kalispel Case Line Becomes Latest Sponsor of NSSF’S Project ChildSafe

Kalispel Tribe/Kalispel Case Line Becomes Latest Sponsor of NSSF’s Project ChildSafe®

Kalispel Case LineNEWTOWN, Conn. – The National Shooting Sports Foundation® (NSSF®), the trade association of the firearm industry, is pleased to announce that the Kalispel Tribe of Indians and its manufacturing company, Kalispel Case Line (KCL), have become a financial sponsor of NSSF’s Project ChildSafe® program.

“The Kalispel Tribe has always prioritized the safety of children, and this is a commitment we take seriously, “ said Curt Holmes, General Manager of Public and Government Affairs for the Kalispel Tribal Economic Authority. “We know home defense is important, but so is firearm security, and we see that philosophy as a perfect match with the mission and work of NSSF and Project ChildSafe.”

NSSF launched Project ChildSafe in 1999 as a nationwide initiative to promote firearms responsibility, provide safety education to all gun owners and help prevent firearm accidents, thefts and misuse. As suicide prevention, especially among tribal communities, has garnered greater national attention, NSSF and Project ChildSafe have been working with several tribal organizations and tribal law enforcement agencies across the country to emphasize the importance of storing firearms securely.

“Kalispel Tribe and its Kalispel Case Line company, which manufactures cases specifically so firearms can be stored securely in the home when not in use, represent exactly the kind of strategic partnership that we know can help save lives,” says Joe Bartozzi, NSSF President and CEO and Chairman of the Project ChildSafe Foundation. “We’re so grateful for their support and really look forward to working with them.”

Project ChildSafe is funded by NSSF member companies and is also supported by the Project ChlidSafe Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charity. The centerpieces of the program are its free firearm safety kits, which include a cable-style gun lock and safety brochure. To date, the program has distributed more than 40 million free gun locks through partnerships with more than 15,000 law enforcement agencies. In recent years, demand for the safety kits and program resources has surged, so donations, grants and corporate sponsorships from partners like the Kalispel Tribe and KCL help NSSF meet the demand. More information on Project ChildSafe sponsorship opportunities can be found on the Project ChildSafe website.

About Project ChildSafe

NSSF, the trade association of the firearms industry, launched Project ChildSafe in 1999 (originally as Project HomeSafe). Since 1999, the program has provided more than 40 million free firearm safety kits and gun locks to firearm owners in all 50 states through partnerships with thousands of law enforcement agencies across the country. That’s in addition to the more than 70 million free locking devices manufacturers have included, and continue to include, with new firearms sold since 1998. While helping to prevent accidents among children is a focus, Project ChildSafe is intended to help adults practice greater firearm safety in the home. More information is available at projectchildsafe.org.

ArachniGRIP Offers Slide Grip for Ruger Max-9

October 1, 2021

ArachniGRIP® Offers Slide Grip for Ruger® MAX-9™

(Parker, CO) – ArachniGRIP®, makers of the patented Slide Spider® semi-auto pistol slide grip, announces the release of a new grip design for the Ruger® MAX-9™ Optic Ready 9mm Sub Compact Pistol.
The new grip is created to exacting standards to be used with, or without, a sighting optic. When the owner of a Ruger® MAX-9™ applies the easy-to-install slide grip to their firearm, it allows them additional gripping surface at the rear slide serrations. This extra grip will let the shooter cycle the slide without using the optic for leverage to rack. Using the slide grip and not the optic will prevent damage and misalignment to the aftermarket sights. The slide grip also greatly increases control of the MAX-9™ even when not adding an optic.
The Ruger® MAX-9™ grip comes available in red (shown) or black and has an MSRP of $19.95.
ArachniGRIP offers slide grips to fit most semi-auto pistols. It is easy to install and extremely durable. The Slide Spider grip products enable the shooter to gain increased control through a safe and secure hold. The products offer additional tactical advantages under challenging operating conditions, including extreme moisture and temperature. In addition, these products aid shooters with weak or weakened hand strength and those with medical conditions such as arthritis.

Night Authorization Available for Part 107 Drone Pilots

Night Authorization Available for Part 107 Drone Pilots

Drone pilots with current Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificates may now obtain near real-time authorizations to fly at night through FAA-approved providers of Low Altitude Authorization and Notification Capability (LAANC) services. LAANC is an automated system for drone pilots requesting to fly below 400 feet in controlled airspace often found around airports. Drone pilots need FAA approval prior to flying in controlled airspace.

In addition to the near real-time night authorizations, drone pilots will have more areas they can fly in since the FAA has divided the airspace into smaller segments. Since April 2021, while LAANC providers updated their software, Part 107 pilots were able to operate in controlled airspace at night with a valid LAANC daytime authorization and an authorization letter from the FAA which expires on September 30. Today’s announcement provides a permanent solution for Part 107 drone pilots to operate in controlled airspace at night.

For more information on night authorizations and additional LAANC announcements, visit the FAA website. For general inquiries on these new regulations and other UAS inquiries, please call 844-FLY-MY-UA or email the FAA.

Four New Must-Have Tools From Fix It Sticks!

Fix It Sticks Introduces Four Must Have Firearms Tool Kit Components

Chicago, IL– Fix It Sticks, the industry innovator of modular firearms maintenance tools and torque limiters has introduced a Brass Pin Punch Set, Extended Action Bits, a Brass Hammer Head bit and 140 Inch Pound Torque Limiter.  These new items significantly increase the functionality of any Fix It Sticks tool system as well as perform as stand-alone products.

Brass Pin Punch Set

The Brass Pin Punch Set is indispensable for any firearms tool kit.  These are perfect for drifting sights, removing trigger group pins, or any other disassembly or assembly of firearms or equipment requiring pin removal and reinstallation.  Pin Punches are in the following sizes: 1/16″, 3/32″, 1/8″, 5/32″, 3/16″ and 1/4″.  Machined form solid bar stock, the Brass Pin Punches have steel inserts in the base to work with magnetic drivers .  The Brass Pin Punch Set works with the Fix It Sticks system as well as any other ¼ hex driver and has an MSRP of $30.00

Extended Action Bits

Action screws can be difficult to reach depending on trigger guards, magazine wells, etc.  The new Fix It Sticks Extended Action Bits are designed to work with these hard to reach screws.  Made with a ball end hex head to allow maximum access to screws, the Extended Action Bits are available in  3/16″ for Remington 700, AICS and similar, 5/32″ for Ruger 10/22 V-Block and similar, 1/8″ for KIDD, and T30 for numerous Precision Rifles (T30 is not a Ball End).  These integrate with the Fix It Sticks tool system as well as work with any ¼” hex driver and have an MSRP of $8.00 each.

Brass Hammer Head

A small hammer can be indispensable when out in the field, but is seldom if ever something on hand when needed.  Fix It Sticks solves this issue with the Brass Hammer Head.  Designed with a steel insert to work with magnetic drivers, the Brass Hammer Head is perfect for those firearms related tasks that require tapping and light hammer strikes.  The Brass Hammer Head is now available with an MSRP of $8.00

140 Inch Pound Torque Limiter

For fasteners requiring substantial torque, Fix It Sticks now offers a 140 Inch Pound Torque Limiter.  The preset torque limiters also use ¼” bits and tighten to the specified inch/lbs at which point they spin freely. Fix It Sticks torque limiters will work with any ¼” bit driver.  The 140 Inch Pound Torque Limiter is now available with an MSRP of $45.00

About Fix It Sticks:  Fix It Sticks is a highly modular multi-tool system featuring a variety of specialty tools and torque limiters, along with standard 1/4″ bits, to keep your gear running at the range and in the field.  Unlike other multi-tools out there, which compromise function for portability, Fix It Sticks uses a T-handle concept to give you the best of both worlds: shop level function, paired with light weight and portability.

Revision Awarded Contract to Supply Prescription Carriers to U.S. Troops

ESSEX JUNCTION, VERMONT (September 30, 2021)Revision Military has been awarded a contract with the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) to supply Universal Prescription Lens Carriers (UPLC) over the next five years. The contract, issued by DLA Troop Support, has an estimated value of up to $37.5 million, began on September 17, 2021 and is for one three-year base period and two one-year option periods. Its secure press-fit design ensures that it is properly positioned every time and its rugged and ergonomically designed frame provides wide field-of-view and durability. Smith & Wesson to Relocate Headquarters to Tennessee

Move includes headquarters and significant portion of operations due to changing business climate for firearms manufacturing in Massachusetts

SPRINGFIELD, Mass., Sept. 30, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — Smith & Wesson Brands, Inc. (NASDAQ Global Select: SWBI), one of the nation’s oldest firearms manufacturers, announced today that it is moving its headquarters and significant elements of its operations to Maryville, Tennessee in 2023.   Smith & Wesson has been based in Springfield, Massachusetts since the company was incorporated in 1852.

Smith & Wesson Logo (PRNewsFoto/Smith & Wesson)

Mark Smith, President and Chief Executive Officer, said “This has been an extremely difficult and emotional decision for us, but after an exhaustive and thorough analysis, for the continued health and strength of our iconic company, we feel that we have been left with no other alternative.”  He specifically cited legislation recently proposed in Massachusetts that, if enacted, would prohibit the company from manufacturing certain firearms in the state. “These bills would prevent Smith & Wesson from manufacturing firearms that are legal in almost every state in America and that are safely used by tens of millions of law-abiding citizens every day exercising their Constitutional 2nd Amendment rights, protecting themselves and their families, and enjoying the shooting sports. While we are hopeful that this arbitrary and damaging legislation will be defeated in this session, these products made up over 60% of our revenue last year, and the unfortunate likelihood that such restrictions would be raised again led to a review of the best path forward for Smith & Wesson.”

Smith indicated that the company vetted a number of cities and states and, after careful consideration, made the decision to relocate 750 jobs and its headquarters to Maryville, Tennessee.  The key factors in the decision included the following:

  • Support for the 2nd Amendment
  • Business friendly environment
  • Quality of life for employees
  • Cost of living and affordability
  • Access to higher education institutions
  • Availability of qualified labor for its operations and headquarter functions
  • Favorable location for efficiency of distribution

Smith continued, “The strong support we have received from the State of Tennessee and the entire leadership of Blount County throughout this process, combined with the quality of life, outdoor lifestyle, and low cost of living in the Greater Knoxville area has left no doubt that Tennessee is the ideal location for Smith & Wesson’s new headquarters. We would like to specifically thank Governor Lee for his decisive contributions and the entire state legislature for their unwavering support of the 2nd Amendment and for creating a welcoming, business friendly environment.”

Smith & Wesson will also close facilities in Connecticut and Missouri as part of consolidating in Tennessee. This process will result in the company reducing the number of locations it maintains from four to three and will significantly streamline its manufacturing and distribution operations.

The company emphasized that the move will not begin until 2023 and will not have an impact on employees’ jobs until then.  “Our loyal employees are the reason for our success and are always our number one priority. We are deeply saddened by the impact that this difficult decision will have on so many of our dedicated employees, but in order to preserve future jobs and for the viability of our business in the long term, we are left with no choice but to relocate these functions to a state that does not propose burdensome restrictions on our company.” Smith said. “We are making this announcement now to ensure that each employee has the time to make the decision that is right for them and their families. We are firmly committed to working on an individual level with each and every one of those who will be affected. We will assist any affected employee who is willing and able to move with financial and logistical relocation assistance. However, we also fully realize that this is simply not feasible for some. Therefore, for any affected employee who cannot move with us, we will offer enhanced severance and job placement services. We understand that this announcement will be very difficult for our employees, and we will do everything we can to assist them during this transition,” Smith said. All employees whose jobs are moved will be given these offers.

Key Facts:

  • The facility in Springfield, Massachusetts will be reconfigured but will remain operational.
  • Smith & Wesson will keep some of its manufacturing operations in Springfield, Massachusetts, including all forging, machining, metal finishing, and assembly of revolvers, and will continue to have over 1,000 employees in the state.
  • The new facility will be built in Maryville, Tennessee and will comprise of the company’s headquarters, plastic injection molding, pistol and long gun assembly, and distribution.
  • Total investment in the project is estimated at $120 million, will be funded from cash on hand, and is expected to be accretive to EPS by $0.10 to $0.12 per year once fully operational.
  • Construction in Maryville, Tennessee is expected to begin in the calendar fourth quarter of 2021 and be substantially complete by the summer of 2023.
  • Upwards of 750 jobs will move from Springfield, Massachusetts; Deep River, Connecticut; and Columbia, Missouri to Maryville, Tennessee.
  • The company’s plastic injection molding facility in Deep River, Connecticut, which services both Smith & Wesson as well as a significant number of external customers, will be sold. The Smith & Wesson portion of the operations will be moved to the new facility in Maryville, Tennessee, however, the external customer business will remain in Connecticut and will be divested.
  • The company’s distribution operations in Columbia, Missouri will be moved to the new facility in Maryville, Tennessee, and the Columbia, Missouri facility will be marketed for sublease.
  • The relocation will have no impact on the company’s operations in Houlton, Maine.
  • The company will host a conference call September 30, 2021, to discuss the relocation. Speakers on the conference call will include Mark Smith, President and Chief Executive Officer, and Deana McPherson, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.
