Grand Island, NE (January 4, 2022) – In a vehicle or at home, Hornady Security’s RAPiD® Safe AR Gunlocker delivers ready access and tamper-proof security for tactical rifles and shotguns. The RAPiD AR Gunlocker employs the instant speed of an RFID lock with a spring-loaded door for ultra-fast access. The AR Gunlocker mounts horizontally or vertically, providing convenient mounting options in the closet, under a bed or the back of an SUV.

All Hornady Security® RAPiD® Safes offer quick, dependable firearm access using patented RFID technology while providing unmatched security from unauthorized users. The AR Gunlocker fits two carbine-size guns, while the Gunlocker XL secures up to three tactical length shotguns or rifles. Both include fitted foam inserts that hold guns firm inside the safe yet allow quick deployment.

Hornady Security’s RAPiD safes use patented RFID lock-opening technology. Swiping an RFID-equipped wristband, key fob or decal over the safe’s sensor instantly opens its spring-assisted lid. A programmable digital keypad and mechanical key offer additional entry methods. An AC-powered lock with battery backup provides 24/7 protection and rapid access. Programming other Hornady RFID safes add the convenience of opening multiple safes with the same tags.

The AR Gunlocker uses 16-gauge heavy-duty steel construction and four hardened locking lugs, engineered to withstand a barrage of attacks, including prying, dropping, picking, sawing and targeted hinge attacks. It exceeds the ASTM international safety standards for security. The AR Gunlocker comes with a cable and pre-drilled mounting holes for additional security when mounting in a set location.

EAST ALTON, IL (January 3, 2022) — Winchester, the largest manufacturer of small caliber ammunition for the U.S. military, announced that the U.S. Army has awarded the company a total of $20 million in cost-plus and firm-fixed-price contracts related to ammunition development, manufacturing facility requirements analysis and production capacity planning for the 6.8mm Next Generation Squad Weapons (NGSW) program.
Work will be performed at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant (LCAAP) in Independence, Missouri, the United States’ only government-owned, contractor-operated small caliber ammunition production facility. These projects were awarded under Winchester’s $8 billion contract to operate LCAAP.

First Focal Plane (FFP) scopes provide many benefits, and the Vudu 1-10×28 FFP reticles make full use of this advanced design. The Vudu’s wide magnification range and rapid zooming balance shooting speed with precision. When combined with a choice of three modern reticles, the Vudu 1-10x28mm precision riflescope is a clear choice for close- to medium-range targets and everything in between.

The dramatic 1-10x magnification range truly sets this optic apart! At 1x, its wide field of view, generous eye relief and signature EOTECH Speed Ring is the ultimate setup for enhanced situational awareness and rapid shot transitions. At the other end of the spectrum, its 10x magnification and detailed reticle allow precise holdover shots at extended ranges.

With First Focal Plane scopes, the reticle grows as magnification increases. At high power, the reticle is an optical tape measure for estimating distance and precisely aiming holdover shots; at low magnification, the eye focuses on the bold, illuminated EOTECH Speed Ring for snapshots and quick follow-ups. Designed to be simple and intuitive, shooters will understand the versatility of this system with one look through the 1-10x28mm scope.

The Vudu 1-10x28mm riflescope is available with one of three illuminated reticles. The SR-4 uses MOA-based subtension marks for ranging, holdover, and windage corrections at higher powers and the Speed Ring with center red aiming dot for rapid shots at the lower power setting. The SR-5 is an MRAD graduated Christmas-tree style reticle for more precise windage and elevation holds. The LE-5 is similar to the SR-5 but features a familiar crosshair inside the Speed Ring rather than a single dot. On the left side of the scope, a push-button reticle illumination system provides intuitive controls; one button for on/off, and the others control brightness settings.

Depending on the reticle, scope turrets are calibrated and adjustable in either 0.25 MOA or 0.1 MIL increments, offering precision and fast dial adjustments. After zeroing, its re-indexing feature sets the turret dial scale to zero, allowing for quick resets in the field without the need to remember a numeric turret location. The elevation turret offers a simple push-pull locking system and the windage is capped, both to prevent inadvertent changes.

Like all Vudu riflescopes, the 1-10x28mm riflescope uses a rigid aircraft-grade aluminum tube with a hard-anodized finish. The scope is shock-, water- and fog-resistant, and features the EOTECH Vudu Precision Riflescope No BS Warranty.

Elbit Systems to lead a Human-Robot Interaction consortium

Israel Innovation Authority has recently approved the establishment of a new innovation consortium, led by Elbit Systems C4I and Cyber, for Human-Robot Interaction (HRI) technologies research and development.

The new consortium includes leading robotics companies and academic researchers in the fields of Artificial Intelligence, computer science and behavioral sciences, with the goal of developing an innovative HRI infrastructure, addressing the need for close interaction between robotic systems and human users natural communications (verbal & gestures) technologies, according to relevant social codes, robotic platforms level of autonomy methodologies, and more.

Today, autonomous robotic platforms (those not continuously controlled by a human operator) operate in a “sterile” human-free environment, such as logistics centers and automated production and assembly lines. Integrating robots in a shared workspace environment with human teams will allow the transfer of routine, dull and burnout-inducing tasks to robots and reduce workloads on human teams, thereby increasing crew productivity and reducing their rotation. Such integration will only be possible when human crews feel confident and able to communicate naturally with robots, operating in their close environment.

The Azzurro Sportivo also has a limited edition, aluminum, blue anodized comp, which weighs 2.79 oz less than the traditional black steel Super Sport comp. The comp serial number matches the serial number on the revolver. The front sight can be pre-set at four different heights for quick aiming and ease of switching between distances. This model features the Lothar Walther cold-forged barrel featuring polygonal rifling. This allows you to switch from your .357 Magnum/.38 Special cylinder to your 9mm cylinder in a flash.
