The integrated laser rangefinder targets distances up to 1,000 y/m day or night.

CCI Blazer Named as the Most Frequently Purchased Handgun Ammunition Brand for 2021
LEWISTON, Idaho – April 4, 2022 – CCI’s sub-brand Blazer was recently named the most frequently purchased handgun ammunition brand in Southwick Associates 2021 “Hunting & Shooting Participation and Equipment Purchases Consumer Tracking Study”. Southwick’s yearly survey compiled the feedback of over 11,000 hunters and recreational shooters.

Ruger has discovered that a small number of SR22® pistols may have right and left frame inserts that are not properly secured together. In rare circumstances, this condition may render certain internal safety mechanisms ineffective and the pistol has the potential to discharge upon decocking. Pistols that may be exhibiting this condition will intermittently exhibit a “slack” single-action trigger.
NOTE: A “slack” single-action trigger occurs if, while operating the pistol in single-action mode with a magazine inserted, the slide forward, and the manual safety disengaged, a trigger pull does not encounter resistance and the hammer does not fall.
Although only a very small number of pistols appear to be affected, Ruger is committed to safety and would like to examine all SR22 pistols that have ever exhibited a slack single-action trigger or discharged upon decocking.
Potentially affected pistols include any SR22 pistol with a serial number of 369-40078 or lower (including all SR22 pistols with a “SS” prefix). If your SR22 pistol has ever exhibited one of the conditions described above, you should immediately stop using your pistol and sign up for the Safety Retrofit as outlined in the Safety Bulletin. If you have never experienced either condition, your pistol is not affected by this Safety Bulletin.

NDIA joins in letter to Congress seeking relief on R&D tax amortization
ARLINGTON, VA — The National Defense Industrial Association is among seven associations requesting congressional leadership consider relief and a four-year delay for the research and development (R&D) tax amortization that went into effect January 1, the Arlington, Virginia-based defense association announces.
A March 31 letter from the associations to Congress highlights the negative impact the amortization will have on American technological advances and the ability to compete globally. Stemming from the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017, the bill requires qualifying R&D expenses to be amortized over five years rather than allowing 100% of deductions in the year of the R&D spend.
The letter notes the negative impact this will have on innovative competition as companies can only write off 20% of their expenses per year, particularly as China extended a super deduction for R&D expenses to an additional 100% of actual expenses incurred. This will have a detrimental impact on companies, our warfighters and, ultimately, our national security. Additionally, estimates from an Ernst and Young study show it will also cause job losses, as cited in the letter.

Lonoke, Arkansas – March 31, 2022 – Team Remington’s Alessandro Vitale won the Triple J Classic .410 Sub Gauge Event with a perfect score of 100/100. The event, held at the National Shooting Complex in San Antonio March 11-13, 2022, drew nearly 300 shooters.
Recognized as the spring kick-off event for the National Skeet Shooting Association, the Triple J Classic featured event categories that included various gauge competitions, Skeet Doubles and High Overall (HOA).

Once Upon a Time in America – “The Prohibition”
This hand engraved Nighthawk Custom 1911 is a 1 of 1 pistol that features the era of Prohibition in America, which lasted from 1920-1933, featuring both the good and bad on opposite sides.
The right side of the pistol shows “The Untouchable Prohibition Agents” Elliot Ness & Jimmy Malone, who took down Al Capone in 1930. The Agents from the treasury department are engraved on the slide and on the grip in more 999 Silver inlay. The Agent badges are inlayed in 24K Gold. The right front side of the pistol shows how the confiscated whiskey barrels were destroyed and dumped in the gutters. The distilling container & tools are also inlayed in 24K Gold. On the front strap of the frame, engravings show Al Capone in handcuffs after he was arrested.
The left side of the pistol is engraved with the legendary mafia bosses Al Capone & Lucky Luciano on the slide. The infamous bank robber and boot legger John Dillinger is engraved in 999 Silver on the grips. The front of the slide features the Speakeasy “Cotton Club” in New York City, with the lettering “COTTON CLUB” inlayed in 24K Gold.
The wood display box is from a 300-year-old oak barn and the upholstery is in blue Alcantara leather. The accompanying two bottles of Cutty Sark Prohibition Edition Whiskey were specifically selected for this piece, with one bottle being for the collector’s celebration and the other one to remain intact with this limited edition. Cutty Sark Scotch Whiskey became popular during the prohibition as it was smuggled in as an alternative when distilleries in America were destroyed.
Engraved on the top of the slide, is the famous Cotton Club dancer Mildred Dixon. The front sight is a whiskey bottle with the engraving “Prohibition – 13 Years”. The bottle is inlayed with 999 Silver and a red seal.

NEWTOWN, Conn. — NSSF®, the firearm industry trade association, is pleased to announce that it has awarded Heartland Gun Club & Range its Five-Star rating for range excellence.
Located in Rochester, Minn., Heartland Gun Club & Range offers just about everything an experienced or novice firearm owner needs. A modern, customer-friendly range and retail facility, Heartland is dedicated to helping firearm owners obtain the training they want, support beginner target shooters, encourage practice and assist customers in purchasing the right equipment for their needs.

Heartland’s range consists of 12 shooting lanes, each of them 25 yards, that allow patrons to shoot handguns and rifles. Training classes are popular, and Heartland offers many to choose from. Kimber Donates Handguns and Rifles to Ukraine
TROY, AL, March 30, 2022 — Kimber Mfg., Inc. donated 200 handguns and 20 rifles to the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces of Ukraine, to bolster their capabilities in this time of conflict.
Throughout this conflict, the Ukrainian people have inspired the world with their courage and determination, which inspired the Kimber team to find a way to help. Kimber answered by providing 200 R7 Mako 9mm subcompact pistols with 800 extra 13-round magazines, 10 Advanced Tactical rifles in .308 Win., and 10 bolt-action rifles in .308 Win. Each rifle contains 2 magazines and a matched replacement firing pin assembly.
Mission First Tactical (MFT) donated holsters for the R7 Mako pistols and Tactical Rifle Cases. In addition, MFT also donated 3,300 AR-15 magazines and 1,000 AR-10 magazines.
Leupold & Stevens, Inc. (Leupold) donated 20 Mark 4 LR/T 3.5-10×40 rifle scopes, which were paired and installed on each of the 20 Kimber rifles.

Kansas City, KS (March 30, 2022) – Spring gobbler season is firing up, and CZ is making sure hunters are well gunned as they hit the turkey woods. Three hard-hitting 12-gauge shotgun options will allow hunters to carry more longbeards over their shoulders and enjoy more turkey breasts on the smoker.
CZ Reaper Magnum is CZ-USA’s over/under designed for max flexibility in those common situations where gobblers either strut into hunters lap or hang up at the outer margins of range. Clad in Mossy Oak Obsession Camo the Reaper is built to slay turkeys with the same 3 ½” chambers of the Swamp Magnum.
The beauty of hunting with an Over/Under is that each barrel can be equipped with a different choke. Putting an open choke in the bottom barrel for the optimum effectiveness at close range and an extra full choke in the top barrel, to deliver lethal pellets at longer distances, a simple flip of the selector switch lets hunters pick which barrel to fire.
Hunters will appreciate the shorter barrels that allow them to be more maneuverable in the woods or blind. The Picatinny-style rail allows hunters to add a favorite optic atop for best assurance of shot placement. The gun accepts the most potent 3 ½-inch turkey loads and will also accept all 2 ¾” and 3” loads. At 7 pounds, with a 26-inch barrel and sling swivels front and back, the Reaper Magnum is easy to carry and maneuver. It comes with five extended interchangeable chokes.
CZ 612 Magnum Turkey is created for the turkey woods. This pump-action shotgun sports an effective springtime camo pattern in the Mossy Oak obsession and comes equipped with two chokes. One choke is extra-full to deliver maximum pellets to the gobbler’s kill zone, and the other is modified for upland hunting and steel shot.
The 612 Magnum turkey comes with a rail that can be added atop the receiver for an optic of choice. The 8mm flat vent rib has a bead at the muzzle, weighs 6.8 pounds, accepts 3 ½-inch, 3”, and 2 ¾” shotshells and has a 26-inch barrel.
CZ 1012 Synthetic Bottomland is CZ-USA’s versatile semi-auto shotgun that can take hunters from the duck blind to the turkey woods seamlessly. It is a longtime favorite of gobbler getters, especially with its iconic “Bottomland” camo pattern.
The popular inertia operating system delivers reliability and ease of maintenance. During testing, the CZ 1012 fired 5,000 rounds without needing a drop of oil or cleaning. Few, if any, turkey hunters or waterfowlers will require that pace of activity – occasional cleaning and oiling should be more than enough.
This flexible shotgun is one hunters will want to carry to the practice range and upland bird fields as well as the spring woods, owing to its ability to handle everything from light-recoiling target loads up to potent 3-inch magnums. NEWTOWN, Conn. — The total economic impact of the firearm and ammunition industry in the United States increased from $19.1 billion in 2008 to $70.52 billion in 2021, a 269 percent increase, while the total number of full-time equivalent jobs rose from approximately 166,000 to over 375,819, a 126 percent increase in that period, according to a report released by the NSSF®, the firearm industry trade association.
On a year-over-year basis, the industry’s economic impact rose from $63.5 billion in 2020, to $70.52 billion. Total jobs increased by over 33,000 in the same period, from 342,330 to 375,819. The firearm industry has broader impacts throughout the economy. It supports and generates business for firms seemingly unrelated to firearms, at a time when every job in America counts. These are real people, with real jobs, working in industries as varied as banking, retail, accounting, metal working and printing among others.
The firearm and ammunition industry paid over $7.85 billion in business taxes, including property, income and sales-based levies. An additional $1.1 billion was paid in federal excise taxes, which directly contributes to wildlife conservation.
“The economic contributions of our industry are indisputably contributing to every state and every community. This is the hallmark of the hard-working men and women who prove that the American firearm and ammunition industry is strong,” said Joe Bartozzi, NSSF President and CEO. “The growth of firearm and ammunition manufacturing year-after-year shows that this industry continues to meet the American demand for lawful firearm ownership. This industry produces the highest quality firearms and ammunition, and has been proud to welcome over 5.4 million first-time gun buyers in 2021 alone. These new gun owners are increasingly representative of Americans from all walks of life, including more women and more minority communities that have decided to exercise their right to keep and bear arms and to safely enjoy the recreational shooting sports. This growth equals more jobs that add to our local economies, averaging $56,900 in wages and benefits. Since 2008, federal tax payments increased by 206 percent, Pittman-Robertson excise taxes that support wildlife conservation by 214 percent and state business taxes by 151 percent.”

In 2021, Rafael registered over 4.7 billion dollars in orders, and its order backlog was 7.1 billion dollars, equivalent to 2.5 years of sales activity. For the first time, Rafael incorporated the financial reports of its subsidiaries Aeronautics and Controp.

In 2021, Rafael recorded a number of significant achievements, such as the unveiling of the Sea Breaker – a 5th generation autonomous seaborne missile capable of attacking at a range of 300 km, signing a teaming agreement with Lockheed Martin for the development of laser-based defensive systems and the marketing and system integration of SPICE 250 into the service of the U.S. Army.
The sale of the SPYDER Air Defense System to the Czech Republic, which has catapulted Rafael to the forefront of global air defense system manufacturers with its entry into a NATO-member state’s military service. In addition, a massive contract with an Asian country to supply it with combat suites for battleships.” Through cooperation with the U.S. Army, Rafael also successfully completed the testing of the Iron Dome battery.
Last week, Rafael received an order from the Ministry of Defense to develop the production and supply of the “Iron Beam” system – a powerful laser system for intercepting aerial threats that will serve as a complementary capability to the “Iron Dome.” The development of the system is a technological breakthrough at a global scale and will join the likes of other Rafael systems supported by unique technological capabilities such as the Iron Dome, the David Sling, the Trophy Active Protective System and more. In addition, Rafael won three Israeli Security Awards this year.
During the past year, Rafael continued to be a central provider in employment, the Israeli society and the economy, especially in the northern region – and even inaugurated a new production branch in the city of Shlomi along Israel’s border with Lebanon. Meanwhile, doubling its activity and operations in the Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and Beer-Sheva branches. This year Rafael, like the entire economy, experienced significant challenges in manpower retention, but at the same time a recorded a record high in recruitment; 1,000 new employees were recruited this year.
Rafael is the largest industrial employer in the north of the country, and one of Israel’s three largest defense companies, with 8,000 employees and numerous subcontractors and service suppliers, indirectly providing employment for some 20,000 households and with an annual purchase of more than 1.25 billion dollars (NIS 4 billion) from external subcontractors, mainly in the north of the country. Since becoming a formal business company, Rafael has transferred more than 628 million dollars (NIS 2 billion) in dividends to the state.
Approximately 9.3% of the company’s total sales are allocated to investment in R&D. The investment also includes joint activities with academic institutions in Israel and around the world and is also directed to various civic activities, including collaborations with startups and innovation centers.
