Wolf Premium Oils to Attend 15th Annual Hammer-In Event

The 2022 Hammer-In event will be held on April 20 from 8 am to 4 pm at the Jackson County multi-purpose building in Vancleave, Miss. One of the most anticipated parts of the event is the start-to-finish creation of a knife that will be made and given away during the event. The day will be packed with live demonstrations and workshops. There will be knifemakers, knife suppliers, blacksmiths, forgers, and other purveyors of handmade goods for the outdoor life. Music will be provided by the Mississippi Songwriters Festival. Admission is free.

British Army to get another 100 Boxer wheeled armoured vehicles

The Boxer success story continues. The British government, represented by the European procurement organization OCCAR, and ARTEC, a consortium of Rheinmetall and Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (KMW), have signed a contract extension to supply the British Army with an additional 100 Boxer wheeled armoured vehicles. The contract encompasses three previously ordered variants of the Boxer: the infantry carrier, the command vehicle and the field ambulance.
In issuing the order, the United Kingdom is exercising an option contained in the contract signed in 2019 for the Mechanised Infantry Vehicle (MIV) procurement project, which includes 523 Boxer wheeled armoured vehicles in several variants.
ARTEC will be supplying the vehicles to the UK via OCCAR, the intergovernmental Organisation for Joint Armament Cooperation. The bulk of Boxer production will take place in Britain. Series production is currently getting underway in Germany, after which most of the Boxer vehicles already ordered will be produced in British factories of Rheinmetall BAE Systems Land and KMW subsidiary WFEL.
The additional vehicles just ordered will also be produced in both the UK and Germany. Here, the partners will be drawing on the knowledge and components of the established and expanding British supply chain, which already forms the basis of the first lot of 523 vehicles.

A modular vehicle – versatile and battle-tested
The Boxer is a highly protected 8×8 wheeled armoured vehicle. Its modular architecture enables a greater number of variants than any other vehicle system. To date, some 1,500 vehicles in twenty different versions have been ordered by Australia and four NATO countries: Germany, the Netherlands, Lithuania and the United Kingdom. Australia, a close partner of NATO, has already taken delivery of a first shipment of 25 Boxer vehicles.
Founded in 1999, ARTEC GmbH is a joint venture of Krauss-Maffei Wegmann GmbH & Co. KG, Rheinmetall Landsysteme GmbH and Rheinmetall Defence Nederland B.V. The company coordinates series production and serves as the point of contact for export enquiries for the Boxer.

NSSF Statement on White House ATF Nomination, Gun Control Orders

NEWTOWN, Conn. — NSSF®, the firearm industry trade association, listened with keen interest to President Joe Biden’s nomination of Steve Dettelbach for Director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). NSSF has long-advocated that the ATF needs a U.S. Senate-confirmed director, and that person must be an individual who will faithfully execute the duties of regulating the firearm industry in accordance with established laws and regulations. Any nominee for this position of public trust, that has direct oversight of how law-abiding Americans are able to exercise their Second Amendment rights, must be a person wedded to the rule of law, and one that will not politicize the ATF to advance a partisan gun control agenda that exceeds what is established in law by the U.S. Congress.

NSSF is committed to a thorough examination of Dettelbach’s record and qualifications and will listen carefully to his testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee. NSSF has significant concerns regarding Dettelbach’s previous public statements supporting bans on Modern Sporting Rifles (MSRs), or AR-15 semiautomatic rifles, universal background checks, which are unworkable without a national firearm registry that is already forbidden by federal law, and extreme-risk protection orders, or so-called “red flag” laws, without protections for Due Process considerations. Dettelbach was also previously endorsed by the gun control group, Everytown for Gun Safety, for his support for policies restricting Second Amendment rights.

NSSF is also closely monitoring the submission of the Final Rule by the Department of Justice (DOJ) to redefine frames and receivers, which would significantly alter the sale and possession of not only personally-made firearms (PFMs) but numerous other types and models as well. NSSF will review the Final Rule carefully to see if DOJ listened and took into consideration the industry’s comments that were submitted. As proposed, this rule radically alters the manufacturing and compliance processes for manufacturers of traditional firearms, not just the making of incomplete, unfinished parts Congress has not chosen to regulate.

Pro Paul Phillips Takes 1^st Place in ELR Light Class

OROVILLE, Calif. – April 11, 2022 – RCBS^®, the leading manufacturer of ammunition reloading equipment for rifles and pistols, congratulates long-range competitor Paul Phillips for winning the ELR Light Class during the recent Spearpoint ELR Match held in Barnard, Kansas. Phillips, who prepped for the match using an RCBS Rock Chucker^®Supreme Press and MatchMaster Powder Dispenser, led the field throughout the two-day match to secure his first win of the 2022 ELR season.

During this year’s competition, Phillips opted to compete in the Light Class, which requires shooters to use a rifle weighing under 26 pounds and chambered in .338 caliber or below. His personal rig for the match was chambered in 33XC and fired a 300 grain Berger bullet propelled by Vihtavouri Powder inside a Petersen cartridge using a Federal 215 M primer.

The Spearpoint ELR match featured many of the top long-distance shooters in the world, including the reigning King of 2 Mile team. After the match, it was noted that 76% of the shooters registered were in the Top 100 ranking in the world for King of 2 Miles.

“Whenever you load world championship level ammunition you need to make sure all of your tolerances are exact,” said Phillips. “RCBS equipment delivers this to me every time I’m at my reloading bench and hasn’t let me down once. I know that when I get to the line in a major competition I never have to worry about my ammunition, and I can instead concentrate on doing my job as the shooter.”

Gold Tip Shooters Rack Up Victories at ASA Fort Benning and USAT Arizona Cup

FLORA, Miss. – April 11, 2022 – Gold Tip, an industry leader in carbon arrows and bolts, is celebrating multiple team victories at the 2022 ASA Fort Benning Elite Pro/Am and 2022 U.S. Archery Team (USAT) Arizona Cup. During the two weeks of archery competition, team Gold Tip members took home three first place finishes along with several top five placements.

At the 2022 ASA Fort Benning Elite Pro/Am, which took place March 27-28 at Fort Benning, Georgia, three of the top-five finishers were from Team Gold Tip. This included team member Dane Johnson, who shot his way to his second ASA victory. In the Senior Pro division, Gold Tip/Bee Stinger staff manager Tim Gillingham won by 26 points, beating even the Open division shooters by nine points in the two 20 target rounds.

“It was my best score in over 20 years of competing as a pro,” Gillingham said. “I can’t say enough about the quality of the equipment I shoot. I think Gold Tip has the best arrows on the market, including Triple X and Pierce Tour arrows.”

At the USAT Arizona Cup, which took place April 1-3 at the Ben Avery Shooting Facility in Phoenix, Arizona, Gillingham dominated the field and won the Masters Division with a 1-point victory in the final match of the event. It was Gillingham’s second year in a row to win the event.

(NASDAQ: MKSI), a global provider of technologies that enable advanced processes and improve productivity, has announced the Ophir® SupIR 30-385mm, 50-700mm, and 80-1200mm MWIR f/5.5 lenses designed for 15µm pitch VGA FPA (focal plane array) cooled MWIR detectors. The newly introduced products enable longer detection, recognition, and identification (DRI) ranges, exceeding 26km (using the SupIR 80-1200mm lens). An industry-leading combination of performance, reliability, and design-to-cost make these lenses ideal for the demanding requirements of extended observation and surveillance systems in both defense and commercial markets.

The new Ophir SupIR lenses feature a rugged design for operation in harsh environmental conditions. The lenses provide an operating temperature range from -32˚C to +70˚C, as well as Ophir’s world-renowned abrasion-resistant, anti-reflective (AR) coatings; IP 67 sealing; and a mechanical design that withstands severe shock and vibration. Designed for ease of mechanical integration, the lenses include Ophir’s standard software for optimal integration, calibration, and field operation.

“The MWIR f/5.5 VGA 15µm lens family addresses increasing demands for extended range, high performance, reliability, and cost considerations in the defense and commercial markets,” said Dr. Kobi Lasri, General Manager, Ophir Optics Group. “These new lenses deliver an unparalleled combination of functions and features. The Ophir SupIR 30-385mm f/5.5 lens has a horizontal field of view (H-FOV) of 0.7° to 18.6° with detection range exceeding 17km, the SupIR 50-700mm f/5.5 lens has an H-FOV of 0.4°-11.4° with detection range exceeding 22km, and the SupIR 80-1200mm f/5.5 lens has an H-FOV of 0.5° to 7.1° with a detection range exceeding 26km.

Josh Froelich finished second in the Open Division and Konnor Fryburger placed second in the Limited Division. EAST ALTON, IL (April 6, 2022) — The 4th annual NILO Open Sporting Clays Event, June 10 and 11, 2022, will play host to hundreds of clay target shooters of all skill levels who will compete for more than $35,000 in prizes. The event will be held at NILO, the iconic Winchester hunting and shooting preserve located in Brighton, Illinois , (NiloFarms.com). In addition, this will be a National Sporting Clays Association (NSCA) Registered Shoot.
Registration details:
• Individuals can elect to shoot one day or both days. The registration fee per day is $135. Event attendees can also round up $10 at the time of registration, which will be donated to Folds of Honor.
• Teams will shoot the 15-station sporting clay course during either the morning or afternoon session. (You can register as an individual and you will be paired with a team, or you can register a team.)

Registration fee includes:
• 100 rounds of Winchester AA® shotshell ammunition (for the 15-station course).
• A Winchester gift bag.
• Lunch.
Additional side shooting games will also be available: $20 for the flurry and $60 for the 50-shot practice course. With each entry, individuals are entered into the prize drawings.

Based on the reliable, proven platform of the known Galil-Ace, the semi-automatic rifle with its advanced ergonomics design provides the user with the greatest accuracy and rapid engagement, even in harsh environmental and weather conditions.

The innovative rifle empowers sniper proficiency in accurate long-distance firing, while its semi-automatic capability enables multi-target acquisition and fast shooting towards multiple targets.

To ensure mission success, a number of advanced design features can be adapted to meet the needs of evolving situations and different users. A foldable butt stock with adjustable cheek-rest provides a superior fit for the individual shooter. The free-floating barrel – 23” hammer-forged, chrome-lined, with 1:9.5” twist – enhances accuracy and extends barrel longevity. The two-stage trigger enables the user to adjust trigger-pull to their personal preference, sending the heavier, longer-range 7.62 NATO round accurately downrange to the target, while facilitating a faster release of the next bullet. The muzzle brake mitigates recoil, so that the shooter can get back on target quicker.

Additional features include a full-length top Picatinny rail (460mm), along with M-Lock system at 3, 6 and 9 o’clock, and an adjustable folding bipod that can easily be flipped into the required position, giving the shooter more flexibility to adjust to any shooting situation. The MIL.-STD magazine is easy to insert into the Sniper rifle and, with a capacity of 20 rounds, enables the user to be more effective over an extended period of time. The rifle is adaptable to all zoom riflescopes available today for medium to long-rang shooting. A locking mechanism prevents any harm or injury to the shooter in case of bullet explosion out of the chamber, and a bolt carrier tail prevents the hummer reaching the firing pin before locking has been completed.

NEWTOWN, Conn. — NSSF®, the firearm industry trade association, proudly honored U.S. Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) as the 2021 NSSF Legislator of the Year for his determined commitment to protect the firearm industry against special-interest and partisan attacks that would have threatened the lawful commerce of firearms in America and jeopardized the Constitutional rights of law-abiding citizens.

Senator Grassley was instrumental in blocking gun control lobbyist David Chipman’s nomination to become Director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). Sen. Grassley’s thorough examination of Chipman’s record of gun control activism prevented Chipman, and the Biden administration, from turning the bureau charged with regulating the firearm industry into a bludgeon to advance gun control policies detrimental to a Constitutionally-protected industry and the customers it serves.

“We are honored to present Senator Grassley with the 2021 NSSF Legislator of the Year Award for his bold and unfailing leadership in the U.S. Senate to protect our industry from unwarranted special-interest attacks,” said Lawrence G. Keane, NSSF Senior Vice President and General Counsel. “Senator Grassley is an unyielding champion of the firearm and ammunition industry on Capitol Hill. His thorough accounting of David Chipman’s gun control record was invaluable in exposing his lack of fitness to lead the ATF. Senator Grassley, through his service as Ranking Member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, prevented the ATF from becoming a rubber stamp for radical gun control proposed by the Biden administration.”

Senator Grassley was unequivocal of his opposition to Chipman as ATF Director. In his opening remarks at the committee’s confirmation hearing, Sen. Grassley remarked of Chipman, “There isn’t a liberal hobby horse on guns he hasn’t ridden.” Sen. Grassley’s determination to expose Chipman’s lack of fitness for the nomination uncovered allegations of racial bias against fellow ATF agents. His demands for investigation records and clarifications from The White House, Department of Justice and Chipman himself, went unanswered. This proved Sen. Grassley’s instincts were correct and Chipman was not qualified to fulfill a position requiring special trust and confidence of a public official.

Due to Sen. Grassley’s steadfast opposition, The White House withdrew Chipman from consideration which preserved the ATF from unwarranted political interference. His demand for transparency from a special-interest gun control nominee prevented the firearm industry from being subjected to endless attacks. Sen. Grassley’s resolute clarity to prevent confirmation of this unqualified nominee stopped untold and irreparable damage to the ATF and the firearm industry which it is charged with regulating.

(NASDAQ: MKSI), a global provider of technologies that enable advanced processes and improve productivity, has announced the Ophir® SupIR 60-1200 MWIR f/4 lens, the latest addition to the company’s series of lenses designed for SXGA/HD 10µm and 15µm VGA pitch FPA (focal plane array) cooled MWIR cameras. This new, high precision lens is equipped with an automated zoom interface and continuous zoom to provide a sharp and clear image across the entire field-of-view and throughout the full zoom range. This makes it ideal for the demanding requirements of Counter Unmanned Systems (C-UAS) applications and long range observation and surveillance systems.

The Ophir SupIR 60-1200mm f/4 has a horizontal field-of-view (H-FOV) of 0.3°-8.6°. It is the newest addition to the SupIR SXGA/HD 10µm detectors compatible series of lenses which are designed to withstand harsh environmental conditions, providing an operating temperature range from -32ºC to +85ºC. These lenses features Ophir’s world-renowned abrasion-resistant, anti-reflective (AR) coatings; IP 67 sealing; and a mechanical design that withstands severe shock and vibration. They are designed for ease of mechanical and electronic integration using Ophir’s standard software for optimal integration, calibration, and field operation. In addition, the lenses are equipped with zoom controller features for continuous zoom with focus retention, automatic focus compensation throughout temperature and zoom ranges, close objects focus mode, focus blurring for NUC calculation, and full manual and automatic control of zoom and focus positions.

Anti-Second Amendment politicians, advocacy groups and members of the media use the label “ghost gun” to strike fear and trick the public. Those individuals and groups want the public to believe that privately made firearms are synonymous with crime, even though thousands, if not millions, of Americans have lawfully engaged in this right and freedom for centuries.
