Keep True Knives Sharp With The Mycro Knife Sharpener

Fort Worth, Texas (December 8, 2022) – There are very few things as dangerous as a dull blade. Without the ability to cut uniformly, a blade is more likely to catch and shred, which can easily slip and cause unintended damage to users or items. While TRUE Knives are built to last and with materials that require a minimal need for sharpening, the need to sharpen all knives is inevitable.

TRUE releases the Mycro Knife Sharpener to combat this danger and need. This lightweight aluminum construction houses a carbine cutter suitable for all blade materials. Carbide is more than capable of handling a wide variety of stainless and high-carbon steel. A ceramic sharpener is housed opposite for more fine sharpening and honing needs. Use is very simple; 10-12 passes through the carbine sharpener and another 10-12 with the ceramic sharpener. The 40-degree angle is suitable for nearly all blade geometries.

Mycro Knife Sharpener is a minimalistic tool suitable for EDC, incorporating a lanyard hole and rubber grip. The entire construction is about the size of an average thumb surpassing the competition. The size alone means it can be carried by anyone – even on a keychain – and used anytime.

For the trades worker, outdoor enthusiast, camper, and all-around knife user, it’s worth the extra peace of mind to have the best edge at all times. The small size and dependable materials make this an excellent preparedness tool one can feel confident carrying.

An Informative Article From Surefire: KEEP IT CLEAN

SUREFURE FLASHLIGHT MAINTENANCE 101

KEEP IT CLEAN

Subject your SureFire flashlight or WeaponLight to high round counts, and you might see a layer of carbon start to hamper the clarity of your light. If carbon buildup has clouded your lens, simply scrub the lens with a pencil eraser, or apply a small amount of toothpaste to a soft cloth.

Finish with an alcohol swab, and your window will be clean, clear, and ready for action. To prevent the buildup from happening again, we recommend applying Chapstick or non-petroleum-based lubricant to the lens before shooting.

Lithium Pros® Highlights The N3265-36 38.4v Lithium Ion Trolling Battery With NMEA 2000

Lithium Pros® Highlights The N3265-36 38.4v Lithium Ion Trolling Battery With NMEA 2000

Knoxville, TN (December 7, 2022) – Finding a marine battery with enough power and life to last all day on the water has been challenging for both professional and recreational boaters. Anglers need up to three separate Group 31 AGM batteries to ensure enough battery life to last an entire day of trolling. This takes up valuable storage space and adds approximately 231 pounds of unnecessary weight–until now! Just one of Lithium Pros® N3265-36 lithium-ion marine trolling batteries has enough life and power to provide anglers with a full day on the water at just ⅕ the weight, weighing in at only 41 lbs! This translates into better fuel efficiency, not to mention a faster boat. The reduced onboard weight can give anglers better access to shallow coves and inlets, giving them an advantage over their weighed-down competitors and making the N3265-36 the ideal battery for bass and other shallow-water fishing boats.

In addition to the benefits of longer life and lighter weight, the Lithium Pros N3265-36 provides an impressive 65 amp hours (2,496 Whr) and 152 reserve minutes. It can be recharged onboard from the outboard engine’s charging system with a compatible DC charger. It fits most marine batteries’ standard footprint and trays, except for being two in. taller (measurements are 12.88 in.L x 7.13 in.W x 10.50 in.H).

The N3265-36 is among the world’s first series of lithium-ion batteries connected directly to the NMEA 2000 network. The embedded BM-21 battery monitor is NMEA 2000 certified and features a port on the battery for true “plug and play” with NMEA 2000 function displays. Once connected to the network, the BM-21 is fully addressable and monitors and records individual battery voltage, current, time remaining, state of charge, cumulative lifetime amp hours, and temperature. Warnings and alerts are recorded with time/date stamps. The monitor reports all required Parameter Group Numbers (PGN) and standard battery-related PGNs. All information is available on the optional OLED display.

All Lithium Pros lithium-ion batteries are powered by high-power lithium-iron phosphate (LiFePO4) chemistry. They hold a higher voltage, provide more power, are more efficient, have longer battery life, and recharge up to five times faster than traditional lead-acid batteries. Additionally, they are safe, eco-friendly, and durable.

The Lithium Pros N3265-36 Trolling Battery with NMEA 2000 is the battery of choice for professional and recreational anglers looking for the best equipment with the highest level of communication available on the market. Lithium Pros lithium-ion batteries stay “strong all day long.”

N3265-36 Product Features:

· Can replace 3 Group 31 AGM batteries with just one M326-S-36 trolling battery
· NMEA 2000 connectivity
· 152 reserve minutes
· BCI group GC12 size
· BM21 Embedded Battery Monitor
N3265-36 Product Specs:
· 38.4 V
· 65 Ah (2496 Whr)
· 41 lbs
· MSRP $2,999.00

About Lithium Pros

Lithium Pros was founded in 2011 and focuses on building lithium-ion batteries with the specific purpose to replace lead-acid batteries for use in demanding applications. They strive to uphold the ideals detailed in their mission statement: “Through constant innovation, create high-power lithium-ion battery packs that are safe, easy to install, and start an engine like nothing else.”

Hornady Reloading Has Accessories That All Reloaders Need

Posted on Thursday, 8 December, 2022 by twobirdsflyingpub

Hornady Reloading Has Accessories That All Reloaders Need

Grand Island, NE (December 7, 2022) – For decades, reloading has been the driving force behind the Hornady name. From the single-stage Classic to the progressive Lock-N-Load AP, Custom-Grade Dies, and Hornady’s innovations to come, we’re continually putting more into reloading so you can get more out of it.

Beyond the essential equipment of a reloading press, powder measure, scale, set of dies, case lube, and a loading manual, you will find an extensive line of tools and accessories. Whether a reloading novice or a seasoned veteran who values simplicity and function, Hornady’s Reloading accessories can speed up your efforts and make the experience more enjoyable.

Reloading stations are sometimes situated in rooms and places where lighting might present strong shadows or have dimly lit areas that can impede quick safety and quality inspections. Light up your press with Hornady’s Lock-N-Load® Light Strip. The adhesive backing on the light strip lets you attach the strip anywhere. A little extra light might improve the reloading operation. The Lock-N-Load® Light Strip features long-lasting LED lights and plugs into a standard 110V outlet or Hornady’s Lock-N-Load Control Panel.

Reloaders know the frustration of funnels when they are constantly rolling off the table, and Hornady came up with an innovative design. The Basic Powder Funnel is designed with a squared-rim design that means no rolling whenever you set it on the table. The funnel fits all calibers between .22 and .45.

Hornady’s Premium Powder Funnel Kit offers high-capacity transfer through non-static aluminum. It nests into a form-fitted storage case. The kit has nine caliber-specific bushings that perfectly fit the funnel into case sizes that include: .224, .243/6mm, .257, .264/6.5mm, .277/6.8mm, .284/7mm, .308, .338 and .375.

Trimming is essential in reloading because the case gets longer with the brass flowing forwards. The case will end up too long to actually chamber in the rifle. So, we trim the case back to a set distance to give us clearance in the chamber.

Reloaders will appreciate the Hornady® Cam-Lock Trimmer that allows you to accurately restore fired cases to the correct length no matter the thickness of the cartridge rim, thanks to the unique way the case is locked in place in the shell holder.

The Hornady® Cam-Lock Trimmer uses standard Hornady removable shell holder heads, so you can use the same shell holder head in your trimmer and your Hornady reloading press. The Cam-Lock Trimmer can be mounted on a bench or clamped in a vise, and is adjustable for all sizes of cartridge cases.

Reloaders rely on the Cam-Lock Trimmer feature, which allows the lever to lock the case in place. The Micro Adjust cutter allows .001″ changes without moving the case (extra cost on competitor trimmers). Plus, its large diameter, replaceable cutting head is made of ultra-hard tool steel and trims cases up to 50 caliber.

The Cam Lock Trimmer includes seven of the most popular pilot sizes: 22 cal, 6mm, 270 cal, 7mm, 30 cal, 38 cal and 45 cal.

Use only Hornady® brand shell holders with the Cam-Lock Trimmer. Other shell holder brands are not compatible with this unit.

Founded in 1949, Hornady® Manufacturing Company is a family-owned business headquartered in Grand Island, Nebraska. Proudly manufacturing products that are made in the USA, Hornady® Manufacturing is a world leader in bullet, ammunition, reloading tool, accessory and security product design and manufacturing.

Just in time for the 2022 turkey season you can find ESCORT’s notable line of turkey-specific semi-automatic shotguns at the ready. The PS Turkey Hunter is available in 12-gauge, 20-gauge, and .410 caliber and is tailored with the turkey shooter in mind. Common to many ESCORT semi-automatic shotguns, the PS Turkey Hunter features Hatsan’s FAST Loading System and Smart Valve Piston technologies. The FAST Loading System enables faster and easier loading with one hand and without the need to change shooting position. The loading button acts as both a carrier latch release for loading and the bolt release when the bolt is locked back. This gun’s Smart Valve Piston will cycle 7/8 oz, 2 ¾” all the way up to 3” full magnum loads, credited to its self-regulating design. This patented design is so reliable that one can mix heavy and light loads in the same magazine without a hiccup.

The PS Turkey Hunter is available in two camo patterns: RealTree® Timber and Mossy Oak® BottomLand. Each gun ships with 3 interchangeable chokes suitable for a variety of turkey hunting situations. A 5-inch long cantilever optics rail features 4 cross-slots to accommodate a variety of Weaver mounts. The gun is also equipped with bright fiber optic front and rear sights for low-light hunting. The red front fiber is windage adjustable while the rear green fiber sight is both windage and elevation adjustable. Both fibers can be removed entirely to make way for mounted optics. All Hatsan’s barrels are hard chrome-lined for maximum durability and corrosion resistance. Safety is a significant concern for any firearm, so a manual cross-button safety is built in. Mounted sling studs make for easy carry and firing support.

Be sure to grab ESCORT’s PS Turkey Hunter for this year’s turkey hunt! You won’t be disappointed!

NSSF Statement on Oregon Measure 114 Update

Posted on Wednesday, 7 December, 2022 by twobirdsflyingpub

December 6, 2022

NSSF Statement on Oregon Measure 114 Update

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, a federal judge in Oregon stayed the implementation of Oregon Ballot Measure 114’s “permit-to-purchase” scheme after the State admitted in a letter to the Court on Sunday that it will not be able to implement Measure 114’s “permit-to-purchase” scheme by its effective date of December 8. The court entered an order delaying implementation for at least the next 30 days. Therefore, on December 8, Oregonians will still be able to lawfully exercise their Constitutional right to purchase firearms, and licensed retailers will not be forced to turn away customers or close their businesses.

However, the court denied an emergency motion to enjoin enforcement of Measure 114’s ban on the use, possession, manufacture or sale of magazines capable of holding more than 10 rounds of ammunition. That component of the Oregon Measure 114 will go into effect in two days.

NSSF respectfully disagrees with the court’s ruling. The court misapplied the U.S. Supreme Court’s recent Bruen decision, which set forth the proper analysis for evaluating laws that burden Second Amendment rights. The court incorrectly relieved the State of its burden to demonstrate that the restrictions in Measure 114 are “part of the historical tradition” of firearm regulations that existed at the time the Constitution was adopted. The court mistakenly placed the burden on the plaintiffs to prove a “need” for lawful self-defense. The court also engaged in the very interest-weighing analysis the Supreme Court expressly rejected in both its Heller and more recent Bruen decisions.

In a related state court case challenging Measure 114 as violating the Oregon State Constitution, a Harney County judge today enjoined the State from implementing any part of Oregon Measure 114 until at least December 13, when the court will hold a hearing on a motion for a preliminary injunction filed by the plaintiffs in that case.

TEXTRON’S BELL V-280 VALOR CHOSEN AS NEW U.S. ARMY LONG-RANGE ASSAULT AIRCRAFT

Posted on Tuesday, 6 December, 2022 by twobirdsflyingpub

Hill Image Bell V-280 .jpg

Providence, R.I. (December, 5. 2022) –Textron Inc (NYSE: TXT) announced today that Bell Textron Inc., a Textron company, has been awarded the development contract for the U.S. Army’s Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA) program. The award is based on Bell’s V-280 Valor tiltrotor that was developed and tested as part of the Joint Multi-Role Technology Demonstrator (JMR TD) program that began in 2013. The V-280 progressed through design, manufacturing, and more than three years of rigorous flight testing that provided extensive data validating the technical and operational advantages of the aircraft for the long-range assault mission.

“We are honored that the U.S. Army has selected the Bell V-280 Valor as its next-generation assault aircraft,” said Scott C. Donnelly, Textron’s chairman and chief executive officer. “We intend to honor that trust by building a truly remarkable and transformational weapon system to meet the Army’s mission requirements. We are excited to play an important role in the future of Army Aviation.”

“This is an exciting time for the U.S. Army, Bell, and Team Valor as we modernize the Army’s aviation capabilities for decades to come,” said Mitch Snyder, president and CEO of Bell. “Bell has a long history supporting Army Aviation and we are ready to equip Soldiers with the speed and range they need to compete and win using the most mature, reliable, and affordable high-performance long-range assault weapon system in the world.”

This award builds on a decade of the V-280 Valor’s progress through design, manufacturing, and thorough testing to demonstrate that this aircraft will deliver on the FLRAA program requirements. Bell and its industry partners have systematically validated the V-280 aircraft and their modular open systems approach in collaboration with the Army.

“For the past several years the Bell team demonstrated the exceptional operational capabilities, digital thread synergies, and platform affordability enhancements the V-280 provides,” said Keith Flail, executive vice president, Advanced Vertical Lift Systems at Bell. “Bell stands ready with our world-class manufacturing facilities to apply our nearly seven decades of tiltrotor expertise to deliver a modern FLRAA fleet to the Army.”

The initial contract refines the weapon system design, sustainment, digital enterprise, manufacturing, systems integration, flight-testing, and airworthiness qualification.

This award builds on Bell’s history of more than 85 years delivering over 30,000 trusted vertical lift products to military and commercial customers in the U.S. and around the world. Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] and Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, Ltd., of Israel, have signed a teaming agreement that includes jointly developing, testing and manufacturing a High Energy Laser Weapon Systems (HELWS) in the U.S. and Israel. After years of joint development by the Ministry of Defense’s Directorate of Defense Research and Development (DDR&D) and RAFAEL, the IRON BEAM project was initiated by the DDR&D. RAFAEL CEO and President Maj. Gen. (Ret.) Yoav Har-Even:

We are working to ensure our customers receive the most advanced, effective, and best in class systems. This agreement will expand and diversify the capabilities we can offer to a variety of customers.”

Warmth and Comfort Doesn’t End at a Doorway: THAW’s Heated Insoles Take Comfort Outdoors

Fort Worth, Texas (December 5, 2022) – One of the greatest dangers on even relatively chilled days and nights is the risk of frostbite. Even when taking all the precautions possible, a cold body can turn a pleasant stroll into a chore. Many manufacturers have created chemical heating solutions for hands and feet, but THAW has taken it a step further.

THAW’s heated insoles are a Bluetooth-enabled and app-controlled solution to a common comfort issue. The rechargeable and flexible heated insoles are the perfect options for anyone who enjoys the outdoors or attends outdoor events. These insoles can be adjusted for any weather or environment with temperature settings ranging from 68-122 degrees F. On the lowest setting time, the batteries can last up to 6 hours or up to 2.5 hours on the highest setting.

Even with a battery and heating element, THAW produces a comfortable insert. Made with breathable foam padding and a recessed charging port, it can feel like walking on a heated cloud. The insoles come in four sizes, from small to extra-large and can be trimmed for a customized fit. The versatility doesn’t end there. A user can track battery life and stream weather forecasts on THAW’s app.

No matter what environment you call home or wish to explore, THAW brings preparation and comfort to every location.

Federal and Remington Ammunition Become VIP Sponsor of SHOT Show All-Star Jam Concert

LAS VEGAS — NSSF®, The Firearm Industry Trade Association, is thrilled to announce that Federal and Remington Ammunition, along with sister brands CCI, Hevi-Shot and Speer, have signed on as a VIP sponsor of the 2023 SHOT Show’s All-Star Jam—a free, private concert for all SHOT Show® attendees featuring some of the most notable names in rock and country music.

Presented by Outdoor Sportsman Group—with VIP Sponsors Federal, Remington and Glock—the concert will feature Lynyrd Skynyrd’s Johnny Van Zant, Montgomery Gentry’s Eddie Montgomery and a special surprise guest to be named. It will take place Jan. 18 outside Caesars Forum, next to the SHOT Show’s Great Outdoors Plaza.

“These ammo brands are some of the most recognizable in our industry and are a huge part of the SHOT Show each year,” said Chris Dolnack, NSSF Senior Vice President and Chief Customer Officer. “We can’t thank them enough for their outstanding support of NSSF and the SHOT Show, and for stepping up to support this awesome new All-Star Jam experience for all in the industry to enjoy.”

Federal and Remington Ammunition President Jason Vanderbrink states, “The SHOT Show is a critical event for NSSF and the vitality of our industry. It’s the perfect place to celebrate our freedoms, product innovation and our industry’s iconic American brands. We’re proud to support this new SHOT After Dark series as another way to bring companies, customers and leaders in our industry together to strengthen our businesses.”

Part of a new series of events called “SHOT After Dark,” the concert will be on Wednesday evening right after show hours. Tuesday evening will feature an Industry Welcome Reception happy hour, and a Networking Reception will be held on Thursday evening, both being held out on the Caesars Plaza.

For three decades, Johnny Van Zant has carried on the legacy of his late brother, Ronnie Van Zant, as the lead singer of legendary rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd and one half of duo Van Zant alongside his brother, Donnie Van Zant of .38 Special.

Eddie Montgomery of Montgomery Gentry recently released “Outskirts,” a seven-song EP. With 20-plus charted singles, the Kentucky native has earned CMA, ACM and GRAMMY awards and nominations with undeniable blue-collar anthems.

More details, and the name of the All-Star Jam surprise guest, will be shared in the coming days.

Opportunities to highlight your brand and help support this event are limited. For more details, contact Chris Tatulli at ctatulli@nssf.org.

SIG SAUER’S KILO5K BDX LASER RANGE FINDER

When SIG introduced the “K” model laser range finder, they changed the trajectory of the commercial laser range finder space. They not only extended its ranging distance, they’ve created a device capable of interfacing with instruments and applications, which when combined yield a rather formidable combination for the long-range precision shooter. The KILO5K is BDF compatible and will pair with any SIG BDF magnified optic. The 5K will range a tree line up to 2,500 yds. and a reflective target up to 5,000 yds. Highly Recommended for the hunter or long range shooter.

Fix It Sticks The WORKS

The Works is a highly modular multi-tool system featuring a variety of specialty tools and torque limiters, along with standard 1/4″ bits. Fix It Sticks uses a T-handle concept to give you the best of both worlds: armorer level function, paired with light weight and portability.
