Do not interpret this as an Anti-AI expression, but rather as an attempt to communicate my agreement with the leading AI developers to slow deployment.
“ A picture is worth a thousand words” didn’t come from Confucius . The credit goes to Fred R. Barnard, who used it in a 1927 trade journal; however, irrespective of its origin the words have merit
I recently asked an AI model to generate an image of a set of digital calipers indicating a measurement of 0.25 inches. That image is below
The next picture is of a real set of digital shop calipers with a measurement of 0.25in.
So what happened here? AI simply does not have the logic needed to display an accurate image. It did what it was asked to do which was to generate an image of digital calipers displaying a measurement of 0.25 in. So when you are tasking AI to do something, make sure that you specify all parameters of what you need its output to be. because AI lacks the logic to fill in the blanks.
