RAFAEL will demonstrate the actual systems consisting of sophisticated constructive simulation software connected to a Virtual Strike Cell simulation all using the ABS-LVC Platform. The ABS-LVC serves as a unique tool to provide LVC integration to massive exercises from the single soldier in the field and up to the joint chief’s commander. These specialized systems together with RAFAEL comprehensive experience have been incorporated into some of the biggest and most complicated IDF exercises.
The multi-domain LVC platform creates a unified scenario at all levels of operation. The LVC integrates and links together all elements of the scenario from a command and control headquarters to the live soldier. It provides the ability to truly exercise a real-life scenario from every possible dimension and includes a highly capable constructive system. RAFAEL’s LVC is supported by advanced AI capabilities which allow automation of real-time doctrines and Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) on every level of the military echelon. The AI integration allows for a range of operational behaviors to be simulated from that of the individual soldier to the brigade level. The LVC capabilities are all operational and working 24/7 in exercises.

Purpose-built features
Foretrex 801 and 901 now provide Stealth Mode and Kill Switch features to support users located in sensitive areas. Customers can utilize Stealth Mode, which collects distances traveled without recording location data, while training or during operations. Leveraging this feature ensures customers can use Foretrex 801 and 901 – and even upload logged data – without concerns about revealing location information. By not recording location data to the device, Stealth Mode protects operational security should a device become lost. Activating the Kill Switch hot key quickly resets a unit to factory settings, discarding any stored data. Users may find this option useful if they work in a position where data saved to their unit could be considered sensitive.
Thanks to the Applied Ballistics Elite® solver integration, the Foretrex series has become a trusted tool for competitive shooters within Precision Rifle Series (PRS) and Extreme Long Range (ELR) events. In addition to the Applied Ballistics Elite solver, Foretrex 901 is now compatible with the AB Synapse – Garmin app to provide users with more streamlined shooting solutions. When downloaded to a compatible smartphone, this app allows users to manage ballistic profiles on their Foretrex 901 while the integrated Applied Ballistics solver provides state of the art solutions for calculating long-range rifle trajectories.
Foretrex 801 and 901 units support external ANT+ sensors and are compatible with Garmin devices, like inReach®. When paired with a compatible inReach device1, users can receive inReach messages directly on the unit and if needed, trigger an interactive SOS to the 24/7 Garmin-staffed Garmin ResponseSM Center. Foretrex 901 users can also pair their device with compatible rangefinders to receive range data as well as provide a ballistic solution back to the rangefinder. This can save time and increase accuracy when sending range data to their paired Foretrex 901 and can help keep devices in sync, providing complete information to both the shooter and spotter.
Enhanced navigation
Users can navigate terrain with advanced sensors on Foretrex 801 and 901, including a 3-axis accelerometer, 3-axis compass and barometric altimeter. Both units also feature integrated multi-band signal reception technology, which uses multiple frequencies to further improve positional accuracy. The units also are multi-GNSS, which allows them to receive signals from more than one satellite constellation, improving performance in challenging environments.
When paired with a compatible smartphone, both units can leverage the valuable features of the Garmin Explore™ app to plan, navigate and review their next adventure. Our panel of experts will speak about the priorities for medical programs that focus on CBRN capabilities as well as have experts discuss their role in science, technology, and advance development efforts. The panel will highlight their approaches to rapidly identifying and delivering CBRN medical capabilities along with opportunities to promote more effective government- industry partnerships to support those approaches.

NSSF Honors U.S. Senator Steve Daines as Legislator of the Year
WASHINGTON, D.C. — NSSF®, The Firearm Industry Trade Association, proudly honored U.S. Sen. Steve Daines (R-Mont.) as the 2022 NSSF Legislator of the Year for his determined commitment to protecting the firearm industry against attacks that threaten the lawful commerce of firearms in America and jeopardize the Constitutional rights of law-abiding citizens. Additionally, his commitment to preserving the Constitutional rights of law-abiding gun owners, hunting, public lands access and conservation set him apart as a leader in Congress.
“We are honored to present Senator Daines with the 2022 NSSF Legislator of the Year Award for his unwavering leadership in the U.S. Senate to protect the firearm and ammunition industry, lawful gun owners, hunters and sportsmen and women,” said Lawrence G. Keane, NSSF Senior Vice President and General Counsel. “Senator Daines’ leadership to ensure fairness in business, reasserting Congress’ role in ensuring the federal government isn’t picking marketplace winners and losers based on politics, protecting gun owners, hunters and sportsmen and women’s rights and public lands access is commendatory. Senator Daines is an example to be emulated.”
Sen. Daines introduced the Firearm Industry Nondiscrimination (FIND) Act in 2022, S. 4435, legislation to ensure firearm-related businesses have fair access to financial services and corporate entities wouldn’t benefit from taxpayer-funded contracts while using those profits to discriminate against constitutionally-protected firearm businesses. He has since reintroduced the FIND Act in the 118th Congress as S. 428. The legislation would make corporations ineligible for federal contracts if they hold discriminatory policies against firearm businesses.
Sen. Daines fought against anti-hunting special interest influence over the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) with the introduction of The Protecting Access for Hunters and Anglers Act, S. 4940, legislation to prohibit Secretaries of the Departments of the Interior and Agriculture and their agencies from banning the use of traditional lead ammunition and fishing tackle absent approval by applicable state fish and wildlife departments and proof that their use is primarily causing wildlife population decline. The legislation worked to ensure that the best conservation practices are grounded in sound science and not driven by the political agendas of special-interest anti-hunting groups.
That legislation was introduced after Sen. Daines led 26 Senators warning U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) Director Martha Williams not to buckle to politically-driven agendas to ban the use of traditional ammunition and fishing tackle on National Wildlife Refuges (NWRs), encompassing over 2.3 million acres of public land. Director Williams ignored the warning to acquiesce to hunting and angling restrictions for hunters and anglers.
Today, Sen. Daines reintroduced the NSSF-supported Protecting Access for Hunters and Anglers Act in the 118th Congress.
Looking to protect law-abiding gun owners, Sen. Daines introduced the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act in 2022 to protect those who live in a concealed carry or Constitutional carry state to carry concealed firearms in other states. Your Second Amendment right to carry a firearm for self-protection does not end at your state’s border.

Expedition Series, the new range of tools dedicated to professional explorers, welcomes a folding knife model, RAO II Expeditions.
The Expedition Series knives offer the same reliability and high quality as any other Extrema Ratio tactical tool provided to the military special forces and law enforcement.
Rao II Expeditions is a tool that, thanks to its structure and despite its compactness, guarantees the same functionality and characteristics of a much bigger and more robust product.
It has a desert-coloured handle and sheath as any other model of the Expedition Series.
It has a BÖHLER N690 (58HRC) blade steel with MIL-C-13924 burnishing and a superficial stone washed finishing (DARK STONE finishing).
Rao II Expeditions has ergonomic handle scales with rounded upper angles, and a drop point blade.
It is inspired by the RAO model with tanto blade, which has been employed by the Italian 185° Rgt. Ricognizione e Acquisizione Obiettivi “FOLGORE” (185° RAO).
The new Expedition Series folding knife can be easily used for heavy duties also thanks to its extremely sturdy locking mechanism, which is supported by a safety that turns it into a proper fixed blade.
There is a threaded steel pin to be hand-screwed through two holes by the guard section of the massive Anticorodal aluminum handle; this was added to guarantee 100% resistance of the locking mechanism due to the heavy use and the violence of the blows caused by the mass of the tool.
Maximum safety is guaranteed for the user by screwing the pin in this seat.
All models in the Expeditions Series are equipped with desert-coloured sheaths and, among its various tools, with a firesteel for lighting fires.
RAO II Expeditions is no exception and comes with a desert Cordura sheath which is an essential component of the carry system.
This particular sheath allows to carry the knife with the blade closed by placing it in the specific front pocket, or with the blade open by inserting it in the dedicated compartment which has a safety system consisting of a strap with double clips.
In addition to the firesteel there is also a diamond sharpener.
The MOLLE fixing system of the sheath allows it to be carried on tactical vests and generic belts.

NSSF Praises Governor Noem’s Order to Stop ‘Woke’ Banking Discrimination Against Firearm Industry
WASHINGTON, D.C. — NSSF®, The Firearm Industry Trade Association, praises South Dakota’s Gov. Kristi Noem for signing an Executive Order prohibiting state agencies from entering into contracts with corporate banks that discriminate against the firearm industry.
Governor Noem’s order will prevent “woke” corporate banks with discriminatory policies against firearm industry members from collecting taxpayer dollars through South Dakota state contracts. Simply put, South Dakotans will choose to do business with those companies that do not discriminate based on an industry these corporate banks may not like or with which they disagree.
“Governor Noem’s Executive Order is a significant bulwark against the ‘woke’ discrimination that threatened firearm businesses in South Dakota,” said Lawrence G. Keane, NSSF Senior Vice President and General Counsel. “South Dakotan’s tax dollars will be protected from being used to fund gun control efforts by these corporate banks that benefit from state contracts while denying essential services to firearm-related business simply because they are politically-disfavored by Wall Street. Governor Noem’s order is clear. The Second Amendment isn’t for sale in South Dakota.”
Gov. Noem’s order will require corporate banks and financial service providers with $100 billion in total assets seeking contracts valued at $100,000 or greater to certify that they hold no discriminatory policies against firearm industry businesses. Contracts that are certified and later discovered to be out of compliance with the Executive Order will be subject to cancellation.

NEWINGTON, N.H., (April 14, 2023) – SIG SAUER Electro-Optics is proud to introduce the ROMEO-M17 pistol mounted red dot sight. Developed from the ground up for the U.S. Army’s Modular Handgun System to be the ultimate in performance, reliability and durability. The ROMEO-M17 is designed specifically to fit U.S. Military Modular Handgun System M17/M18 pistols, M17/M18 Commemorative Special Editions and M17/M18 Surplus pistols with a single hole in the slide to secure the sight plate. It does not fit standard P320 or commercial P320-M17/M18 slides. Commercial variations of compatible pistols and slides will be available in the coming months.
“The fully sealed ROMEO-M17 is the next revolution in red dot optics; it answers the call to withstand the rigors of the battlefield and works seamlessly with the U.S. Army’s Modular Handgun System,” said Andy York, President, SIG SAUER Electro-Optics. “The ROMEO-M17 is the first red dot sight to incorporate SIG SAUER’s patent pending SIG-LOC™ mounting system. SIG-LOC (Leveraged Optimized Connection) features a new proprietary bottom-mount technology that has multiple interface features between the pistol slide and the optic that provides for an extremely strong and robust lock-up. This new mounting system, when combined with the side mounted battery on the ROMEO-M17, allows the optic to have an extremely low position when mounted to the slide, giving the user a full sight picture and co-witness with the existing standard-height iron sights. This sight was engineered, tested, and built in Oregon to be the ultimate aiming solution for the MHS pistols.”
The SIG SAUER Electro-Optics ROMEO-M17 is a mil-spec, fully enclosed and gas-purged red dot reflex sight with a distortion-free glass aspheric lens, and is submersible to depths up to 35 meters. Other features include a new and very robust flexure-arm adjustment system made of the same Beryllium Copper found in many riflescope designs, and a housing that is forged and machined from 7075 Aluminum with an integrated loaded chamber indicator (LCI) gas deflector and machined anti-reflection grooves on all rear facing surfaces for reduced glare. The optic incorporates a high-efficiency point source red LED emitter, with 2 MOA dot/32 MOA circle reticle, independent brightness adjustment buttons, 15 brightness settings including night vision settings, and a side-mounted CR2032 battery compartment with a threaded battery cap so the optic does not need to be removed from the pistol for battery changes. The ROMEO-M17 has a minimum continuous runtime of 50,000 hours at medium brightness setting, and utilizes MOTAC™ (Motion Activated Illumination), MAGNETAC™ (Magnetic Activation), and D.A.R.C™ (Dark Adaptive Reticles & Coatings) technologies.
“The ROMEO-M17 is the pinnacle of pistol-mounted red dot optics, and we are immensely proud that it has been tested and selected to receive a NATO Stock Number (NSN) from the U.S. Army so this innovative technology and ruggedized performance is easily attainable and available to our warfighters,” concluded York.

Brownells Hosts 2-Time NCSSAA National Champion Shotgun Team
GRINNELL, Iowa (April 13, 2023) — Brownells hosted the William Penn University shotgun team Wednesday, April 12, to celebrate their second consecutive NCSSAA National Championship at the Division IV level.
The Statesmen of Oskaloosa, Iowa, claimed their latest national title in March in Las Vegas, Nevada, topping 10 other teams with 1,423 clay targets broken out of a possible perfect score of 1,500 in Skeet, Trap and Sporting Clays combined.
Midland University and Concordia University, both located in Nebraska, finished second and third respectively at the 2023 national championship.
Back-to-back national titles in any college sport is impressive, but accomplishing it in only the third year of the team’s existence is a feat rarely equaled at any level of competition.
“This group of young adults is nothing short of amazing, both in the classroom and on the field,” said Steve Heaton, head coach of Men’s and Women’s Shotgun Sports at William Penn. “The drive and passion they have for the task in front of them is indescribable. They succeed to the best of their ability at everything.”
“It has been impressive watching many of these young men and women hone their skills through our local scholastic shooting teams to become collegiate national champions,” said Brownells CEO Pete Brownell. “Many of the 2022 and 2023 D IV William Penn shotgun champs are from communities Brownells employees and family members call home.”
Included on the winning roster are Jarrett DeKoning and Liam Saunders of Grinnell, Iowa, Dryden DeKoning of Newton, Iowa, and Noah Seeley, Carver Van Zee and Dominick Ver Meer of Pella, Iowa.
All told, 17 of William Penn’s 33 listed shotgun shooters hail from the Hawkeye State.

NSSF Applauds Mississippi Governor Signing Second Amendment Financial Privacy Act
Law Bans Credit Card Tracking Code for Firearm Retailer Purchases
WASHINGTON, D.C. — NSSF®, The Firearm Industry Trade Association, applauds Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves for signing the Second Amendment Financial Privacy Act, HB 1110, into law. This law takes the necessary steps to ensure that financial institutions and credit card companies are prohibited from sharing customers’ private financial information when purchasing firearms, ammunition and other related components and accessories. The Second Amendment Financial Privacy Act is necessary to prevent the potential exploitation of customer privacy and denial of services by politically motivated activists.
“This is a tremendous victory for the firearm industry and those law-abiding Mississippi gun owners who lawfully exercise their Second Amendment rights,” said Lawrence G. Keane, NSSF Senior Vice President and General Counsel. “Certain ‘woke’ banks advocated to use a special Merchant Category Code specific to purchases made at firearm retailers, risking the possibility of creating a ‘back-door’ firearm registry. NSSF opposed the creation and administration of this firearm retailer specific MCC and we are grateful to Mississippi’s legislators and Governor Reeves for standing with the firearm industry and law-abiding gun owners to protect the privacy of their financial transactions.”
