The Tardigrade is the next evolution of our X-Comp pistol from previous years. Starting from a blank slide we wanted to offer simple function mixed with our own look offering a design at the front end that is similar to our best-selling comps, profiling the slide in a way that utilizes a winged comp helps blend the two together for a more seamless look as well as the function of a captured design. The comp has seen many iterations in testing over the years and with some port geometry changes we are able to squeeze a small amount of performance out over our standard ultra comps by changing port angles and efficiency.

Beginning September 16, 2023, all drone pilots required to register their drone must operate under the Remote Identification (ID) rule by operating:

A Standard Remote ID Drone – a drone produced with built-in Remote ID broadcast capabilities; or
A Drone with a Remote ID Broadcast Module – a device with Remote ID broadcast capabilities that can be attached to a drone; or
At an FAA-Recognized Identification Area (FRIA) – areas where drones without Remote ID broadcast capabilities can operate. Only FAA-recognized community based organizations and educational institutions may request a FRIA through FAADroneZone.

Recreational pilots may register once and apply that unique registration number to multiple aircraft. This allows a recreational pilot to move a Remote ID broadcast module from drone to drone as long as it is listed on the same registration.
Part 107 pilots need to register each Standard Remote ID drone or Remote ID broadcast module separately, which means each one will get a unique registration number.

NSSF Challenges Hawaii’s Public Nuisance Law

WASHINGTON, D.C. — NSSF®, The Firearm Industry Trade Association, filed a legal challenge against Hawaii’s recently-enacted public nuisance law, which – unless it is enjoined – will allow frivolous lawsuits against members of the firearm industry for the criminal and negligent misuse of firearms by remote third parties. NSSF alleges the law is designed to evade the judgment of the U.S. Supreme Court and laws enacted by Congress.

“Hawaii is attempting to subvert the will of Congress when the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (PLCAA) was passed with a wide bipartisan majority in both the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate and signed into law by President George W. Bush,” said Lawrence G. Keane, NSSF’s Senior Vice President and General Counsel. “Public nuisance laws like Hawaii’s are nothing short of an attempt to drive ‘legislation through litigation,’ which is exactly why Congress passed PLCAA in the first place. These laws are unconstitutional and an abuse of the legal system to force a political agenda outside the legislative channels.”

Hawaii’s HB 426, signed into law by Gov. Josh Green, attempts to regulate firearm industry products produced outside of Hawaii by requiring the industry to adhere to an undefined and unenforceable set of “reasonable controls.” The law allows state officials and private parties to bring civil actions against firearm industry members for damages resulting from the criminal misuse of firearms or ammunition by a remote third party. This is not in keeping with the intent of PLCAA; rather, it is exactly what the PLCAA was designed to prevent.

Hawaii is attempting to resurrect the same sort of frivolous lawsuits that states and local governments attempted in the late 1990s and early 2000s, which led to Congress passing PLCAA. The PLCAA was signed into law because Congress knew antigun politicians were using the courts as an end-round to circumvent the lawmaking process. The irony was certain elected officials then – and now – oppose the PLCAA because it blocked their “attempt to circumvent the Legislative branch of government” and “would expand civil liability in a manner never contemplated by the framers of the Constitution.”

The PLCAA does nothing more than codify black letter tort law. The law simply says that these agenda-driven lawsuits can’t be brought against a manufacturer or retailer that had nothing to do with the criminal or wrongful misuse of their product.

The format of the Expo appeals to many attendees because it provides time for meaningful conversations about business problem-solving. Ferrum Rescue:
Ferrum Rescue is a tool designed for rescue missions, developed in collaboration with Andrea Micheli, military and law enforcement expert, journalist and shooting instructor. It has an extremely compact grip and three blades carrying out the following functions:
The first and main blade is 3 millimetres thick. It is designed for a much heavy use and to prevent the edges of the other two blades from wearing prematurely. Its serration allows it to cut bigger ropes or textiles, whereas the plain edge acts as a proper knife. The second blade is a scalpel, which can be used to make extremely clear cuts and perform emergency actions.
The third and the smallest, located on the back of the main blade, is a lanyard cutter that can also be employed to cut aramid paracords. The combination of the main blade and the scalpel allows the user to operate an emergency cut to free the injured from their clothes. Both lanyard cutter and scalpel can be replaced.
Ferrum Rescue has a thin and compact shape, its anodized anticorodal aluminum handle scales making its grip light, slim as well as resistant. It can be placed in a pocket, in small flashlight holsters or in a single M.O.L.L.E. system webbing. It is also equipped with a hard-metal glass breaker on the bottom part. It comes with a flipper assisted opening. The blade rotates on ball bearings resulting in a fluid and firm movement. This mechanism allows the user an easy and rapid opening of the blade, even with just one hand. The locking mechanism is the time-tested liner lock.
The reversible clip is located on the back. Ferrum Rescue is available in two versions, Red and Black; the first has a clear rescue connotation as it helps the user find the knife in the event of a fall. The second has a more tactical and less conspicuous feature.

Ferrum E:
Ferrum E is a simple, essential and functional EDC (Every Day Carry) folding knife. It has a drop point blade and a slim and compact shape. The two anodized anticorodal aluminum handle scales make its grip light, slim as well as resistant. It can be placed in a pocket, in small flashlight holsters or in a single M.O.L.L.E. system webbing.
It comes with a flipper assisted opening. The blade rotates on ball bearings resulting in a fluid and firm movement. This mechanism allows the user an easy and rapid opening of the blade, even with just one hand. The locking mechanism is the time-tested liner lock. The reversible clip is located on the back.
Ferrum E is available in two versions, both with satin blade finishing. Ferrum E Black has a black grip; Ferrum E Tactical Mud comes with a brand-new anodized grey-green handle finishing.
Ferrum T:

Ferrum T is a folding knife with a clear tactical connotation and a spear point blade with a weight-lightening hole. It has a slim and compact shape, the two anodized anticorodal aluminum handle scales making its grip light, slim as well as resistant. It can be placed in a pocket, in small flashlight holsters or in a single M.O.L.L.E. system webbing.
It comes with a flipper assisted opening. The blade rotates on ball bearings resulting in a fluid and firm movement. This mechanism allows the user an easy and rapid opening of the blade, even with just one hand. The locking mechanism is the time-tested liner lock. The reversible clip is located on the back.
Ferrum T is available in two versions; Ferrum T Black Warfare, which has a black grip and a blade customized with Geotech Camo, the Extrema Ratio innovative and original laser-engraved camouflage pattern. Kansas City, KS (July 12, 2023) – It’s easy to fall in love with the new CZ 712 G3. The next-generation shotgun inherits the best features of the G2 while adding enhancements like enlarged controls, adjustable comb, stock shims, and CZ’s Active chokes for an even better shooting experience than its predecessor. This gas-operated semi-automatic uses a lightweight alloy receiver and handles a variety of shotshell loads due to the two pistol system, making it an all-arounder shotgun for clays, upland game, or waterfowl. The 712 G3 Target delivers exceptional performance at an affordable price.

A Turkish walnut stock and forend, matte black finish, and 7mm wide ventilated rib barrel distinguish this shotgun. Its 30-inch barrel balances the shotgun and swings smoothly, while a redesigned butt pad improves comfort and tames recoil.

CZ knows that good eye-to-barrel alignment improves shooting. So the new 712 G3 Target features an adjustable comb and a stock shim set that allows cast-on or cast-off and up or down adjustments for a perfect custom fit.

The addition of an oversized bolt handle makes the G3 easier to operate, while its enlarged bolt release facilitates faster reloads. The safety was moved to the front of the trigger guard and enlarged; it’s out of the way yet still easy to access. The designers also moved the bolt lock to the right side of the shotgun, forward of the safety. And it’s now easier to push and close. The enhanced ergonomics make the CZ 712 G3 Target super intuitive!

The G3 includes five of CZ’s new Active-Choke extended choke tubes. They feature a longer parallel section, delivering the best patterns possible from its .735-inch diameter bore (an upgrade from the .730-inch bore in the older 712s). Extended chokes are easy to change, tighten without tools, and the mid-body threads keep the choke securely in place. Active chokes make swapping constrictions for different target presentations a breeze.

An ability to use a wide range of ammunition elevates the G3 to the next level of performance and versatility. The CZ 712 G3 includes two interchangeable pistons; one that cycles light 2¾” target loads and another for 3-inch magnum field loads for heavy and light loads. Either piston accepts a wide range of shot shells within its designation. With the light piston installed, shooters appreciate soft recoiling shot shells for target shooting that can be cycled easily.

Harry Drescher of Solid Solution Designs recently placed third in the King of 2 Miles ELR shooting competition in France. These events are becoming more and more commonplace all around the world, and the Desert Tech HTI continues to show up at these events. The precise shooting platform that is the HTI has become more and more popular as more people get behind it, and its ability to run the huge cartridges used in ELR competitions has brought it to the podium.

For those of you who may be interested in getting into ELR shooting, or adding an HTI rifle to your collection, we’ll share what Harry has done with his:

We have prepared a standard DT HTI to perform like a racecar. First of all only the bolt and barrel extension have been trued, after chambering a 37Inch Bartlein Blank in .375CT.

Our company has been supplying high grade performance rifles since 2009 and this is the second time that we participated at the ko2m. The year before we achieved the second place at the finale during the ko1m.

Back to the HTI rifle;

The .375CT has a custom chamber, specially designed for 400grs projectiles from Warner Tool Company. The 1in7″Twist yields a high GS value, and makes it possible to load the cartridges hot!

This rifle package groups 1/4moa all day at 100 meters. A lot of feedback came from the shooters at the KO2M stating that the HTI is a military rifle, heavy trigger etc. But I love it and the balance with the heavy and extreme long barrel of 37″ is perfect for me. (standard barrel length is 29″)

We have topped the barrel off with a Terminator T5 brake for optimal recoil mitigation. A Dutch built performance machine, using proper technology from Desert Tech.

The HTI is a military rifle as suggested above, but the quality adjustable trigger, and precise build make the rifle an excellent choice for both military and competitive shooters. Its ability to rapidly swap calibers makes it very useful for multiple purposes.
