MRAD® Covert – Precision Without Compromise

Barrett Precision Ammunition – .50 BMG
Barrett also announced the expansion of its Precision Ammunition line with the introduction of .50 BMG Precision Ammunition, joining the existing .416 Barrett offering. Engineered for extreme accuracy and long-range consistency, the new .50 BMG cartridge features a 660-grain MTAC projectile producing approximately 2,800 feet per second from a 32-inch barrel. Manufactured to the industry’s tightest production tolerances, Barrett Precision Ammunition utilizes hand-selected match-grade projectiles, premium primers, climate-stable powders, and precision cases to ensure exceptional consistency and performance.
Designed to deliver optimized external ballistics, reduced drag, minimal wind drift, and extended supersonic range, Barrett Precision Ammunition offers unmatched terminal performance and energy retention at extreme distances. REC10® Returns to the Lineup
After being placed on production hold due to Barrett’s prioritization of its MRAD MK 22™ contract, the REC10 returns to the lineup by popular demand. Redefining premium precision and resilience, the REC10 is a direct-impingement, semi-automatic rifle developed through advanced engineering and rigorous testing to perform in the most demanding conditions. Featuring fully ambidextrous controls, an optimized gas system designed to minimize recoil, and premium hardware throughout, the REC10 delivers exceptional accuracy, durability, and tactical versatility for professional and civilian users alike.
From the factory, the REC10 is available in .308 Winchester or 6.5 Creedmoor with either a 16-inch or 20-inch barrel configuration and delivers 5-shot sub-MOA accuracy. The REC10 is scheduled to be available for purchase beginning mid-2026.

Expanded Finish Offerings
For 2026, Barrett is expanding its Cerakote® finish offerings across its flagship rifle platforms. Every M107A1®, Model 82A1®, and MRAD® rifle can now be ordered in five new solid finishes: White, Blaze (Red), Liberty (Blue), Burnt Bronze, and Sniper Green. In addition to these new solid colors, customers may also select optional Woodland Camo or Grey Urban Camo patterns. Barrett’s standard finishes, including Black, Tungsten Grey, FDE, and Coyote, remain available, and additional products are currently being evaluated for future color expansion.

Germany Buys Eight MQ-9B SeaGuardian(r) RPA Through NSPA
GERMANY BUYS EIGHT MQ-9B SEAGUARDIAN® RPA THROUGH NSPA
NSPA Supports NATO Countries in the Acquisition and Sustainment of GA-ASI’s Advanced Multi-Domain RPA
SAN DIEGO – 12 January 2026 – Germany’s Federal Office of Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support and the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) have announced the procurement of eight MQ-9B SeaGuardian® Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) from General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI). The program includes four Certifiable Ground Control Stations. First delivery is expected in 2028.
Germany joins a growing list of NATO countries that have selected GA-ASI’s advanced MQ-9B RPA for its multi-domain capabilities with exceptionally long range and endurance. The platform provides pole-to-pole satellite control and de-icing capabilities to enable missions in cold climates. SeaGuardian features two multi-mode surface-search radars that deliver wide-area maritime surveillance, with an option to add Anti-Submarine Warfare capability. Additionally, MQ-9B’s in-house-developed Detect and Avoid System aids its ability to fly in unsegregated airspace for domestic civilian operations, making it highly versatile for operations from Germany.
In 2025, MQ-9B became the first large RPA to obtain a Military Type Certificate from the UK’s Military Aviation Authority, certifying its safe operation without geographic restrictions, including over populous areas.
“We’re thrilled that Germany has joined the list of NATO countries that have selected MQ-9B SeaGuardian,” said GA-ASI CEO Linden Blue. “The proliferation of MQ-9B in Europe delivers commonality between NATO countries and for Germany, it will provide opportunities for interoperability with their fleet of P-8As.”
The acquisition negotiation was executed on behalf of Germany by NSPA, which has developed a contractual framework through the MQ-9 Support Partnership (MIC SP) for supporting cooperation amongst its member nations and enabling the procurement of MQ-9B for NATO Allies and Partners. NSPA has added MQ-9B to its portfolio of defense systems to contract on behalf of NATO nations, with the goal of enhancing interoperability for joint training and operations.
“This Support Partnership demonstrates how NSPA enables efficient, effective and responsive multinational acquisitions for advanced, interoperable capabilities. We are proud to support Germany in this strategic investment for maritime surveillance and security,” said Ms. Stacy A. Cummings, NSPA General Manager.
MQ-9B includes the SkyGuardian® and SeaGuardian® models as well as the Protector RG Mk1 that is currently being delivered to the United Kingdom’s Royal Air Force (RAF). GA-ASI also has MQ-9B procurement contracts with Belgium, Canada, Denmark, India, Japan, Poland, Taiwan and the U.S. Air Force in support of the Special Operations Command and is looking forward to welcoming Germany to that group. MQ-9B has also been featured in various U.S. Navy exercises, including Northern Edge, Integrated Battle Problem, RIMPAC, and Group Sail.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — NSSF®, The Firearm Industry Trade Association, has awarded Mission94 Firearms Education Center with its coveted Five-Star rating for range excellence. Five stars is the highest rating in NSSF’s star-rating system, which evaluates shooting facilities based on appearance, management, shooting sports development and amenities.
Located in Kenosha, Wis., Mission94 opened in October 2024 and has quickly grown into a leader in its community with a strong emphasis on responsible firearm ownership through training and education, while also exploring the unique history behind firearms and the Second Amendment.

Mission94 is outfitted with two state-of-the-art training bays. A 25-yard training bay (10 lanes) features a target carrier system able to send out targets to varying distances and includes pre-programmed drills for training. Each lane in this bay is equipped with a camera system, enabling range guests to view a zoomed-in display of shot placements. The display also has a color-coding ability to distinguish between different arms or shooters using the same target. The 50-yard training bay has five lanes and a customizable target carrier system. Each bay is outfitted with a comprehensive HVAC system, delivering cleaner air than what range guests would breathe outside.

Secretary of Veterans Affairs Doug Collins Will Speak at SHOT Show Suicide Prevention Town Hall
LAS VEGAS — NSSF®, The Firearm Industry Trade Association, will present for the first time a general session on suicide prevention at its annual trade show — the SHOT Show — in Las Vegas this month. Secretary of Veterans Affairs Doug Collins will deliver opening remarks at the session.
Secretary Collins will be followed by a panel of suicide prevention and industry experts, including NSSF President and CEO Joe Bartozzi, who will focus on how the firearm-owning community can help reduce suicide deaths, particularly those involving a firearm.
The SHOT Show Suicide Prevention Town Hall will take place on Thursday, January 22, from 2 to 3:15 p.m. local time. Anyone who is registered for the SHOT Show and has interest in helping to prevent suicide is welcome to attend this session. Those already registered for SHOT Show can add the suicide prevention session to their schedule by emailing regmgr@shotshow.org. Those who have not yet registered for the show can add the session when making their registration.
“NSSF is honored to have Secretary of Veterans Affairs Doug Collins provide the keynote address at the first SHOT Show Suicide Prevention Town Hall,” said Bartozzi. “Addressing suicide prevention, especially suicide involving firearms, is a priority for NSSF. Our community has a role to play in saving lives.”
For nearly a decade, NSSF has been working to help reduce suicide deaths among veterans and non-veterans. Yearly, more than 50 percent of U.S. suicide deaths are by self-inflicted firearm injury, and that number rises to 74 percent among veterans. There is hope, however, in knowing that suicide is preventable, and that trusted messengers — like individuals and companies in the firearm community — can inform gun owners and their families how to help loved ones who are at risk.
To heighten awareness about suicide prevention in the firearm-owning community and beyond, NSSF has collaborated with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) and developed resources to equip individuals and organizations with knowledge to save lives. The NSSF-AFSP suicide prevention toolkit for firearm retailers and shooting ranges is at the core of the NSSF-AFSP “Have a Brave Conversation” suicide prevention program.
The panel of suicide prevention and industry experts will cover how industry and the firearm-owning community can deliver messaging to equip individuals to save lives. These messages can cover knowing about the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline and Veterans Crisis Line (call 988 and press 1) to understanding the warning signs of suicide to knowing how to have a “brave conversation” with someone you’re concerned about.
The panelists will be Joe Bartozzi, NSSF President and CEO and Chairman of the Project ChildSafe Foundation; Jacquelyn Clark, co-owner of Bristlecone Shooting, Training and Retail Center and a member of the NSSF Board of Governors; Dr. Emmy Betz, MD, MPH, Professor, Emergency Medicine, Univ. of Colorado Anschutz; Dr. Chris Barsotti, MD, Emergency Physician, Berkshire Medical Center; and Michael Sodini, President, Walk the Talk America. Bill Brassard, NSSF Senior Director, Communications, who oversees NSSF’s suicide prevention efforts, will moderate.

Organizations responsible for logistics, infrastructure, and critical facilities are increasingly required to inspect, map, and monitor enormous areas — sometimes hazardous or inaccessible — without relying on large human teams. Existing ground robots often struggle to combine stability, environmental awareness, and long operational range, leaving a technological gap that limits wider deployment of autonomous systems.
The newly introduced D5 robot, unveiled at the iREX exhibition in Tokyo, is designed to close that gap. Standing nearly one meter tall, the quadruped combines legged mobility with a wheeled mode, allowing it to move confidently on stairs and uneven surfaces while still maintaining efficient travel across open floors and long corridors. Its dual-processor architecture, based on NVIDIA Orin and RK3588, delivers roughly 275 TOPS of computing power dedicated to real-time SLAM, obstacle avoidance, object recognition, and navigation without operator input.
According to Interesting Engineering, one of the system’s most notable capabilities is its ability to map and autonomously navigate areas of up to one million square meters — the scale of industrial zones, warehouses, or multi-site facilities — and conduct continual inspection routes of up to 14 kms. The perception suite combines four 120° fisheye cameras for full 360° coverage with high-resolution front and rear LiDAR units that generate dense 3D point clouds, giving the robot a detailed spatial understanding of its surroundings.
Durability is central to the design: the robot uses a reinforced aluminum structure, closed-loop torque control, and can carry up to 30 kilograms for over two hours. It is also IP67-rated and built to operate in temperatures ranging from –20°C to 55°C, enabling deployment in harsh outdoor or industrial environments.
Although introduced in a civilian robotics context, the robot’s capabilities align closely with emerging security and defense needs. Autonomous ground platforms with long-range endurance, advanced sensing, and safe navigation can support perimeter monitoring, patrols in hazardous zones, inspection of sensitive infrastructure, and ground-level intelligence collection — tasks that traditionally require significant manpower.
The robot illustrates a broader shift in robotics toward versatile, terrain-capable platforms supported by stronger on-board computing and perception. These developments are gradually expanding the range of missions in which autonomy can reliably replace or augment human operators.

$200 Federal Tax Stamp Fee Eliminated: What This Means for You
As of January 1, 2026, the federal tax stamp fee for suppressors and short-barreled rifles (SBRs) has been reduced from $200 to $0. While the financial barrier ($200) has been removed, the legal process (NFA registration) remains in effect.
What Changed: You no longer pay the ATF $200 to register an NFA item.
What Stayed the Same: You must still file an ATF Form 1 (to make/configure an SBR) or Form 4 (to buy a suppressor/factory SBR), submit fingerprints/photos, undergo the background check, and wait for approval.

Sheridan, WY – January 7, 2026. Weatherby continues to lead the industry in cartridge innovation with the introduction of the 25 WBY RPM (Rebated Precision Magnum) the newest addition to the RPM family. Designed to deliver true magnum performance from lightweight, compact rifles, the 25 RPM reinforces Weatherby’s position at the top of the mountain for quarter-bore cartridges.
Weatherby has always been known for pushing velocity, energy, and ballistic efficiency beyond what shooters expect. With the 25 RPM, that legacy continues. Built on the same proven design philosophy as the 6.5 RPM and 338 RPM, the 25 RPM is engineered specifically for the Mark V 6 lug action, delivering exceptional performance without the weight and length of a traditional magnum platform.
At the heart of the 25 RPM is a modern case design featuring a rebated rim, minimal body taper, and a 35-degree shoulder. This geometry increases usable case capacity while improving efficiency and consistency. By slightly shortening and refining the proven RPM case design, Weatherby optimized overall cartridge length to support today’s heavy for caliber, high BC bullets without compromise.
The result is a cartridge that thrives with fast twist rates (1:7.5) and long, sleek projectiles. The 25 RPM is capable of pushing a 133 gr Berger at 3,000 feet per second, delivering flatter trajectories, higher retained energy, and superior downrange performance compared to legacy quarter-bore cartridges. When compared to popular alternatives like the 25 Creedmoor, 25-06, and 257 Roberts, the 25 RPM offers a clear ballistic advantage.

Versatility is another defining feature of the 25 RPM. While it excels with heavy, high BC bullets for long-range hunting, it is equally capable of spinning lighter projectiles at speeds exceeding 3300 feet per second. This balance makes the 25 RPM an ideal choice for hunters seeking a do-it-all quarter-bore cartridge that performs across a wide range of game.
At launch, factory ammunition will be offered in multiple configurations, including a 133 gr Berger, 117 gr Barnes LRX, 117 gr Hornady SST, and 107 gr Tipped Hammer HCB. Brass will be available for reloaders.
