New Rechargeable Version of Popular Light is Multi-Fuel; Offers Enhanced Output
EAGLEVILLE, PA, May 23, 2024 – Streamlight® Inc., a leading provider of high-performance lighting and weapon light/laser sighting devices, introduced the ProTac® 2AA-X USB personal carry light, a rechargeable version of its popular ProTac® 2AA flashlight, featuring multi-fuel capability with USB or disposable battery options, while delivering 550 lumens and 10,250 candela. The exceptionally lightweight light, small enough to fit in pocket or attach to clothing or gear, is ideal for a variety of users, from first responders and tactical professionals to outdoor enthusiasts, industrial technicians, DIYers and automotive mechanics.
“The ProTac 2AA-X USB not only is USB-C rechargeable, but also more than doubles the lumen and candela output of its predecessor,” said Streamlight Chief Revenue Officer Michael F. Dineen. “It gives users the choice of using either a cost-saving USB-C rechargeable battery pack or alkaline batteries, depending on availability or user preference,” said Dineen. “About the size of a marker, it’s the perfect EDC light for a variety of operating needs.”
The multi-fuel ProTac 2AA-X USB uses a 1600mAh Streamlight protected lithium polymer USB-C rechargeable battery pack that is rechargeable up to 500 times. The battery charges in approximately four hours via a USB-C port on the side. The light can also accept two AA alkaline batteries.
The new model features a multi-function, push-button tail switch that permits one-handed operation of the light’s momentary, variable intensity or strobe modes. The light’s TEN-TAP® programmable switch allows for user selection of one of three different programs: high/strobe/low (factory default), high only, or low/high.
The ProTac 2AA-X USB uses a power LED that on the High setting delivers 550 lumens and 10,250 candela, a beam distance of 203 meters and a 2.25-hour run time when using the rechargeable battery pack. With alkaline batteries inserted, it offers 270 lumens, 5,000 candela, a 141-meter beam distance and a 2.5 hour run time. On Low, run times range from 16 hours with the rechargeable battery to 48 hours with AA batteries. Strobe run time is 4.5 hours with the lithium polymer battery and 5 hours using disposable batteries.
Constructed with 6000 Series machined aircraft aluminum with an anodized finish, the ProTac 2AA-X USB features a gasket-sealed glass lens and an anti-roll face cap. The light weighs 3.5 ounces using either battery type, and measures 6 inches long with a body diameter of 0.7 inches.
The new model features an IPX7-rated design, making it waterproof to 1 meter. It is also 2-meter impact resistance tested.
Available in Black or Coyote, the ProTac 2AA-X USB ships with a holster, rechargeable lithium polymer battery pack, and a USB-C charge cord. It has an MSRP of $105.00 and comes with Streamlight’s Limited Lifetime Warranty.

The American Red Cross released the following statement after the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced that the upcoming 2024 hurricane season will be one of the most challenging Atlantic hurricane seasons on record.
This hurricane season, more Americans than ever could be at risk to damaging storms, catastrophic rainfall and flooding, and intense storm surges. With more people living in hurricane-prone areas, the threat of powerful storms forming further north, and more rapidly intensifying storms, anyone living in coastal areas needs to be prepared even if they haven’t been impacted before. The evolving patterns of natural disasters have significantly altered the landscape, which is why the Red Cross launched a major new initiative to build more resilient communities before the next storm hits. Walk the Talk America Raises Over $105K in Mental Health Awareness Month Fundraiser
The first-of-its-kind fundraiser, hosted by Top Shot Season 4 Champion Chris Cheng, ran from May 1 – 8, 2024.
Las Vegas, Nev. (May 2024) – Walk the Talk America (WTTA), a non-profit organization dedicated to bridging the gap between mental health and responsible firearm ownership, is thrilled to announce the successful completion of its $100K first-of-its-kind fundraiser. Thanks to the generous support of the firearms community and the leadership of Top Shot Season 4 Champion Chris Cheng, WTTA raised an impressive $105,568.44 during the fundraiser held from May 1 – 8, 2024.
Cheng kicked off the fundraiser with a personal donation of $5,000, which was used to match donations of $1,000 or less, inspiring the community to contribute to this vital cause. Walk the Talk America also received big contributions from their corporate partners Armscor, Ruger, Davidson’s, Lipsey’s, Chattanooga Shooting Supplies Inc., and Zephyr Wellness. The funds raised will be instrumental in enhancing WTTA’s programs, which aim to improve mental health for gun owners and educate mental health practitioners about the unique aspects of gun culture.
“Surpassing our fundraising goal is a testament to the strong belief within the firearms community that mental health is a key component in reducing gun violence,” said Cheng. “The overwhelming support we received underscores the commitment of gun owners to contribute to a safer and healthier America. This accomplishment during Mental Health Awareness Month signifies the positive impact we can achieve when we come together.”

Noah Gragson, the driver of the No. 10 Ford Mustang Dark Horse, comes into the NASCAR Cup Series’ longest race riding a wave of front-running consistency. Gragson has scored seven straight top-20s coming into Charlotte and he has finished among the top-15 in his last four races, a run that began with a career-best third-place drive April 21 at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway.

About United States Marine Corps Sergeant Jasper P. Sloan
Born June 30, 1922, Sloan was killed in action against enemy forces during the Battle of Iwo Jima on Feb. 26, 1945. With his platoon held up by a devastating rain of hostile sniper and machine-gun fire, Sloan advanced his squad 75 yards to a strategic position on higher ground where he initiated a daring attack against strongly fortified Japanese positions despite a lack of flanking support. Repeatedly exposing himself to enemy fire as he pointed out new targets and directed his men, Sloan waged battle for more than two hours, enabling the remainder of his besieged platoon to move forward. Later that same day, Sloan twice braved heavy machine-gun fire to go to the aid of a seriously wounded comrade and, while ministering to him on the second occasion, was mortally struck down. Sloan’s dauntless courage, cool decision and self-sacrificing devotion to duty in the face of tremendous odds were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service.

WASHINGTON, D.C., May 23, 2024 — The Government Technology & Services Coalition today announced the addition of Bradley Saull, a business of government leader with more than twenty years of experience in the public and private sectors, to its leadership team.

In the federal government, Bradley advised the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Homeland Security on matters related to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) management lines of business. He also previously served as Deputy White House Liaison at DHS, where he recruited candidates for political appointment, worked within the interagency to communicate policy issues, strategic messages, grant announcements, and the implementation of Homeland and National Security Presidential Directives. Bradley also served at the U.S. Department of Justice and in various positions in state government in Ohio.
He received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from the Fisher College of Business at The Ohio State University.
Saull will develop programming, membership, and strategic programs for GTSC.

The Miami Classic 40th Anniversary Limited Edition Shoulder System is serial numbered, with only 40 of these systems made through our custom shop – ever.
The holster system hearkens back to Galco’s shoulder systems of yesteryear. The design replicates the system worn by Don Johnson on the TV show, with the original muzzle-up/butt-down diagonal positioning. The premium leather is aged at the factory, providing a distressed look to match Sonny Crockett’s well-worn original. The 1” shoulder straps are easy to conceal, even while wearing an Armani suit.
It’s available for 1911s only. While the Bren Ten hasn’t been made for decades, Colt’s Delta Elite 1911 was a contemporary pistol that also chambered the then-new 10mm cartridge, and 1911s in general were very commonly carried by knowledgeable pistoleros of the 1980s. You can buy a Colt Delta Elite today, and of course 1911s continue to be phenomenally popular.

BHA’s first tactical lever-action rifle, the Model 89 Black Thunder is optimally sized, perfectly configured, and chambered in the powerful .500 S&W Magnum. With its short 16.25” barrel, it is a quick-handling, rapid-shooting carbine that is perfect for hunting, home defense, or survival situations. Its robust design includes stainless-steel construction, heat-treated and coated with a black nitride finish, making it nearly impervious to corrosion. Black laminate stocks add strength and additional weather resistance, as well as no-nonsense aesthetics. The Model 89BT comes from the factory with hand-crafted, quality Skinner rear aperture adjustable sights, as well as, a factory-installed Scout Scope Mount rail perfect for Scout Scopes, red dot, or holographic sights.
To maximize the Model 89BT’s capabilities, it features an M-LOK rail on the front of the forend to mount lights, laser sights, or any other accessory. This provides an option for adding low light capability for appropriate hunting situations or decisive personal defense tools if needed. It also includes an energy-absorbing one-inch Pachmayr Decelerator butt pad and a fiber optic front sight.
The Model 89 White Lightning lever action rifle in 500 S&W Magnum is the latest firearm innovation from BHA and was introduced to the market in February 2024. The grey laminate stock and forend are fitted with integral front and stud rear sling swivel mounts for a variety of sling attachments. The pistol grip buttstock utilizes a 1” Pachmayr Decelerator butt pad to tame recoil. The highly figured, grey-stained buttstock and forend are given multiple coats of a durable synthetic satin finish to withstand the elements. The wood is then glass-bedded to the metal parts, ensuring extra accuracy and durability. The standard Skinner ghost ring rear sight is mated with a green fiber optic front sight for faster target acquisition. The large hunter-friendly curved lever enables ease of operation, even with gloved hands.
The receivers and steel parts are manufactured using 17-4PH stainless steel and barrels are made using 416 stainless steel. All are precision machined and surface hardened to Rc82 using BHA’s nitriding process to deliver unparalleled downrange performance and rugged-in-the-field dependability.

This incredible weight range combined with the availability of almost any style and type of bullet imaginable makes these rifles capable of taking any game animal walking the planet.
The two-point Rhodesian Sling is purposefully designed to work with BHA lever action rifles but will work on any rifle that has standard sling mounting points. It features a forward loop and acts as both a shooting support and a carry strap. Made with bridle leather and solid brass hardware by Andy’s Slings out of North Carolina, this is the perfect sling for the Model 89 or Model 90.
The Wyoming Tactical Firearms Barron .50 Caliber Suppressor is specifically designed and engineered for .50 caliber ammunition in NON BMG, such as 500 S&W Mag, 500 Auto Max, and 50 Beowulf (Alexander Arms TM). The Barron will dramatically reduce the felt recoil as well as greatly reduce the sound heard (decibel reduction). It is only 9.875” long by 1.825” in diameter and weighs in at only 23 ounces. The Barron is finished in Cerakote coating in C-Series in a default Jet Black color.

NSSF Reminds Recreational Shooters to Help Prevent Wildfires
Use of NSSF’s video and audio PSAs, poster and infographic are encouraged
WASHINGTON, D.C. – NSSF®, The Firearm Industry Trade Association, reminds outdoor recreationists, including target shooters and hunters, to take precautions so they don’t accidently ignite a wildfire.
NSSF’s “Help Prevent Wildfires” public service announcements campaign provides video and audio PSAs, an 8.5 x 11 poster, an infographic and shareable social media posts that remind recreational shooters and other outdoor enthusiasts to be mindful of their surroundings and to take precautions, such as:
There were more than 56,500 wildfires in 2023 that burned more than 2.7 million acres of land throughout the country, according to the National Interagency Fire Center. These fires caused billions of dollars in damage plus hardship for both people and wildlife. Wildfires are tragic in many ways, including that in most cases they can be prevented when people pay attention to their surroundings and follow safe practices. Some 90 percent of wildland fires in the United States are caused by human actions.
“We are all aware of the terrible destruction and human suffering caused by wildfires, and we should do everything possible not to be the cause of one,” said Joe Bartozzi, NSSF President and CEO. “As gun owners, we care about safeguarding our communities and our natural resources, and so we remind everyone to check the fire-danger levels in their area and take precautions before heading outdoors to pursue our warm-weather activities, including recreational shooting.”

GA-ASI AWARDED AI SMART SENSOR CONTRACT
SAN DIEGO – 22 May 2024 – General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) was awarded a $94,808,020 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for research, development, test, and evaluation of Autonomy and Artificial Intelligence (AI) for the Smart Sensor Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) prototype. The work was awarded by the Army Contracting Command on April 30, 2024, with an estimated completion date of March 31, 2026.
The Smart Sensor System is being developed by the Chief Digital AI Office (CDAO) with a goal of creating a platform-agnostic AI and autonomy system that enables autonomous surveillance and reconnaissance operations in contested environments, as well as being able to communicate with other platforms.
“GA-ASI has invested in and deployed autonomy capabilities for several years as part of our aircraft mission systems,” said Darren Moe, senior director for Automation, Autonomy and AI development for GA-ASI. “Being selected to perform this work against a pool of almost 1,000 bidders is a great achievement and opportunity for our company to apply its AI and autonomy skills to this important development program.”
GA-ASI is a world leader in Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS). Last year the company supported a 90-day deployment for the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command (INDOPACOM) where Smart Sensor was successfully demonstrated in a Maritime Operational Environment.

P-Series Clips
G-Code’s P-Series Clips quickly and securely attach to the Hard Shell or Soft Shell Scorpions and can be used with many other potential applications. P-Series Clips securely attach your components to your gear and latch tight by sliding the ˝Locking Collar˝ in place. An audible ˝Click˝ signals positive closure. The locking mechanism prevents any chance of an unintended release of the collar. The design allows tool-free manipulation to easily adjust your gear in the field.

The Scorpion Pistol Mag and GSM Belt Loop allows both styles of mag carriers to be mounted directly to belts up to 2.25″.

Designed for use with MOLLE or PALs attachment systems. (body armor, belt). Minor adjustments in the carry height of your gear can be made by adjusting your clip mount to the upper or lower hole pattern. Additional adjustment can be made by running the system ˝Collars up˝ or ˝Collars down˝. Each variation provides one of 4 possible carry levels.
The Bulletproof Backpack and Ease of Deployment: How the Bulletproof Backpack Keeps You Safe
Saddle River, NJ (May 21, 2024) – Bodyguard has pioneered a patented solution to help incorporate front and back ballistic protection into everyday life. Traditional backpack body armor solutions have typically focused on protection from the back, presenting a limitation: leaving a user’s front exposed and unprotected. Not only do they leave the front of the body exposed, they make mobility cumbersome due to the imbalance created by the armor’s weight.
Bodyguard Armored Backpacks addresses these challenges through an innovative “conceal and deployment” style system. It resembles a conventional backpack, with armor components neatly and deployable as needed. It allows individuals to maintain a non-threatening appearance suitable for everyday use by anyone, anywhere.
At first glance, the backpack functions like any standard backpack. It is suitable for everyday items and comes equipped with a laptop compartment. It features a front pocket, two fabric compartments, and expandable side pockets for small items and water bottles. A Velcro cummerbund is included for additional support and is necessary for correct placement on the First Responder model. However, the integrated armor system sets Bodyguard Armored Backpacks apart. Between the main compartment and the padded back support, there is a dedicated compartment for body armor plates—a rear plate behind the shoulder straps and a front chest plate housed in a secondary compartment.
Deploying the armor is straightforward and swift. To prepare for use, a user inserts the desired soft or hard plates into the designated compartments. The front chest piece is stored upside down and is easily deployable by pulling two straps (ripcords) integrated with the shoulder straps. In an emergency, pulling these cords releases the armor, allowing the user to swing the chest plate into position simply by lifting and lowering their arms, securing the plate against the body. These straps can hang loosely or attach to the waist belt for additional stability.
When a threat is observed, or deployment of the armor is necessary, a user would use the integrated ripcords, pulling the entire assembly straight up with enough force to release them from the Velcro and extend the chest piece out of the enclosure. With their arms extended upward, they would pull the cords over their head and in front of themselves, essentially moving the chest plate forward of the user. The final step is to continue moving your arms downward while extending to place the chest piece directly in front and against the body. Pull, Push, Down, Back.
Re-securing the chest plate involves reversing the deployment steps: the chest piece goes back into its compartment upside down, ensuring the pull cords are properly reattached to the backpack shoulder straps for future use. The integration of Molle loops allows for carrying additional gear and magazines on the chest, enhancing readiness and accessibility and providing ample room in the armor storage compartment.

This May 16th June 5th, it’s the 2nd Annual “Guns, Girls & Pearls” event, the brainchild of friends Betsy Price and Linda Halbouty, of Fort Worth. The event raises money for the United Way, and in particular the United Way of Tarrant County Women United fund.
Betsy and Linda belong to Defender Outdoors Clay Sports Ranch in Ft. Worth, which will again host the afternoon shooting extravaganza that includes three sporting clays courses, shopping, food and later, adult libations.

Starting Q3 2024 in time for the holiday season, Intel’s upcoming client processors (code-named Lunar Lake) will power more than 80 new laptop designs across more than 20 original equipment manufacturers, delivering AI performance at a global scale for Copilot+ PCs. Lunar Lake will get the Copilot+ experiences, like Recall, via an update when available. Building on the success of Intel® Core™ Ultra processors and with the addition of Lunar Lake, Intel will ship more than 40 million AI PC processors this year.

An AI PC has a central processing unit (CPU), a graphic processing unit (GPU) and a neural processing unit (NPU), each with specific AI acceleration capabilities. An NPU is a specialized accelerator that efficiently handles AI and machine learning (ML) tasks right on your PC instead of sending data to be processed in the cloud. The AI PC is increasingly important as the need to automate, streamline and optimize tasks on the PC grows.
Lunar Lake is expected to be a groundbreaking mobile processor for AI PCs with more than 3 times the AI performance compared with the previous generation. With more than 40 NPU tera operations per second (TOPS), Intel’s next generation processors will provide the capabilities necessary for Copilot+ experiences coming to market. In addition to the higher performing NPU, Lunar Lake will also be equipped with over 60 GPU TOPS delivering more than 100 platform TOPS.
“The launch of Lunar Lake will bring meaningful fundamental improvements across security, battery life, and more thanks to our deep co-engineering partnership with Intel. We are excited to see Lunar Lake come to market with a 40+ TOPS NPU which will deliver Microsoft’s Copilot+ experiences at scale when available,” said Pavan Davuluri, corporate vice president of Windows + Devices at Microsoft.
A holistic approach to AI requires a robust software enablement infrastructure alongside hardware innovation.
