SAF SUES PENNSYLVANIA OVER CCW PROHIBITION FOR YOUNG ADULTS
BELLEVUE, Wash. — June 21, 2024 — The Second Amendment Foundation has filed a federal lawsuit challenging Pennsylvania’s prohibition against allowing young adults aged 18 to 20 from acquiring a license to carry a firearm (LTCF) for personal protection. The case is known as Brown v. Paris.
The lawsuit was filed in U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania. SAF is joined by three young adults, all who are SAF members. They are Taylor Brown, Shawn Palmer and Max Ness. They are represented by attorneys Joshua Prince at the Civil Rights Defense Firm in Bechtelsville, Pa., and Adam Kraut at the Second Amendment Foundation. Named as the sole defendant in the case is Col. Christopher Paris, commissioner of the Pennsylvania State Police, in his official capacity.
“Our individual plaintiffs have no criminal backgrounds and would like to procure a LTCF,” said Kraut, who also serves as SAF’s executive director. “However, the state law precludes them from carrying firearms, whether openly or concealed, in public for self-defense. Yet, a look back at history reveals young adults between 18 and 20 were fully protected by the Second Amendment at the time of its ratification. Indeed, at the time of the founding, young adults in this age group were actually required to keep and bear arms.”
SAF founder and Executive Vice President Alan M. Gottlieb noted, “As we explain in our lawsuit, SAF has members and supporters all over the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and we are bringing this action on their behalf. Our young adult members would lawfully carry and legally transport firearms for personal protection and the protection of their loved ones, and others, but for the defendant’s enforcement of the laws we are challenging.”
The lawsuit asks for a declaratory judgment, a temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction, followed by a permanent injunction.

SAF STATEMENT ON SUPREME COURT’S RAHIMI DECISION

BELLEVUE, WA – Today’s narrow Supreme Court decision in Rahimi failed to produce the damage the anti-gun crowd hoped for against Bruen. The Bruen decision remains intact and will continue to be an important building block necessary to continue winning firearms freedom one lawsuit at a time.
None of the justices in the Bruen majority cast aside the test rearticulated in that decision which controls how Second Amendment challenges are to be analyzed. Additionally, the justices declined to adopt the Government’s preferred time period of reconstruction as the controlling era for which historical analogues may be drawn upon.
Rahimi posed a difficult issue for the Court to resolve. And while the Court may have arrived at a conclusion that society believes to be best, it did so in a manner that poses some inconsistencies with what Bruen demands. To be clear, domestic violence is abhorrent and those who commit such acts should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law – for which a conviction would result in their disarmament through imprisonment.
As Justice Thomas wrote “the question before us is not whether Rahimi and others like him can be disarmed consistent with the Second Amendment. Instead, the question is whether the Government can strip the Second Amendment right of anyone subject to a protective order – even if he has never been accused or convicted of a crime.” Stripping an individual of their Second Amendment rights, when they have not been accused or convicted of a crime, is not consistent with what the Constitution protects.
The Court’s justification in upholding the law by cobbling together bits and pieces of historical laws to find a “historical analogue” may allow future courts to uphold various infringements on the Second Amendment by the same sort of manufacture.
While Rahimi himself is the focal point of this case, the unintended consequences of how the Court justified upholding 922(g)(8) may affect the Second Amendment rights of millions of Americans if the lower courts adopt a similar approach. This makes it all the more important the Court take any number of other Second Amendment cases at its door, to further clarify that the Second Amendment protects a pre-existing, fundamental individual right and how to appropriately conduct the analysis Bruen requires.

Two agreements concern one of the enterprises of the Joint Stock Company, Ukrainian Defense Industry:

Mike Harvey, Founder of Cimarron Firearms, Celebrates Milestone Birthday
A passion turned hobby turned business, Cimarron Firearms founder Mike Harvey continues to design authentic classic American West firearms in his eighth decade.
Fredericksburg, Texas (June 2024) – Mike Harvey, founder of Cimarron Firearms, the makers of quality replicas of Old West firearms, celebrates a milestone birthday this month. With no retirement on the horizon, Mr. Harvey, who turns 80, is still very much a hands-on business owner. But then, Cimarron Firearms was never just a business, it was and still is his life’s passion.
A born and bred Texan, Harvey built his first replica, a Hawken rifle, in his youth. Soon, he began buying and trading Old West firearms until it became clear his hobby was getting the better of him. Harvey opened his first store in 1977, where customers could buy and trade classic firearms and muzzle-loading supplies. He named the Houston-based store “Bigfoot.” The store was not named after the legendary hairy creature of the Great Northwest but after Texas Ranger William Alexander Anderson “Big Foot” Wallace, a formidable man over 6 feet tall with 11-inch feet. Although not considered large by today’s standards, Big Foot Wallace left a large legacy as a soldier and Texas Ranger.
In the early 80s, Harvey saw a niche in the marketplace: a lack of quality replica historical arms. Partnering with Allen Firearms, the team imported replicas from Uberti of Italy. Unfortunately, the initial reproductions lacked authenticity, something Harvey was adamant about. Harvey upscaled the Uberti firearm offerings by providing design features that were authentic to the originals, from stamp marks, forging of revolver frames, and finishes. He would use pieces from his growing collection of antique firearms as the standard bearer for the replica that Uberti would build for him.
Harvey bought out Allen Firearms and Cimarron Firearms was founded in 1984. As to the company name, Harvey couldn’t come up with a name that resonated with him, and asked his friend and gun writer and magazine editor, Phil Spangenberger, for a suggestion. Phil suggested “Cimarron” explaining that it just sounded and felt “Western.” The newly minted Cimarron Firearms relocated from Houston to its present location in Fredericksburg, Texas where the firearms are sold through its sister store, Texas Jack, a storefront location for everything western.
Harvey is considered by many to be a first-rate historian, not only regarding the firearms of the Old West but also the very men and women who shaped the West. The history of Cimarron Firearms recalled by Mike Harvey, makes for an interesting story about the birth of a unique company, and the infamous guns behind the colorful characters that built the West. Whether they were frontiersmen, Texas Rangers, lawmen, or scoundrels, Harvey can spin a colorful yarn about those days long ago that became legends.
Today, Cimarron Firearms continues to be the leader in authentic Old West firearms and the go-to for Hollywood Western films. Mike Harvey shows no signs of slowing down and classic gun fans can expect to see new replicas and interpretations soon. Happy Birthday, Mike.

Case prep includes trimming, resizing, cleaning, and deburring fired cases. Hornady offers a wide range of case prep tools available to produce high-quality brass consistently.
The Lock-N-Load® Power Case Prep Center is a one-stop solution to case prep. It features a micro-adjustable trimmer, powerful motor, metal shaving catch tray, and various case cleaning accessories. It takes up a minimal amount of bench space at a fraction of the size of other tools. In addition, the system is capable of handling a variety of cartridges with interchangeable shell holders. Included are large and small primer pocket cleaners, six-neck brushes, and an assortment of shell holders.
Hornady Digital Cases and Parts Dryer ensures brass and firearms parts are completely dry after sonic cleaning. It consists of four fixed trays and one tray with a removable mesh. There is plenty of room to dry cases and larger gun parts. Load the trays with cases, choose from one of the seven temperature settings, and select the desired time. Dry brass prevents oxidation from occurring and results in higher-quality reloads.
The Hornady® Neck Turn Tool offers a precise means of turning cases and optimizing reloads. It is capable of turning a variety of case lengths. The Neck Turn Tool includes four of the most popular mandrels, 22 Cal., 6mm, 6.5mm, and 30 Cal. Pairing it with a drill (not included) quickly and consistently trims each case neck to the proper thickness. The cutting head adjusts in .0005″ increments with the detent system or removes the set screw for infinite adjustments. The result is optimized neck tension and more accurate reloads.
For a hands-on approach to case prep, the Lock-N-Load® Quick Change Hand Tool comes ready with various attachments. It is compatible with any tool with 8-32 threads, including chamfer, deburr, primer pocket reamers, cleaners, and brushes. The dual-sided chuck allows quick changeover between two tools by holding the release buttons. Additionally, the oversized handle features an ergonomic design to minimize fatigue during case preparation.

Red Cat’s family of ISR and precision strike drones will provide the industry with an alternative to conventional ISR/strike systems on the market that are high cost and non-retrievable. Red Cat’s sensor-to-shooter (S2S) system for identifying targets with optional precision strike capabilities is differentiated from other systems with its low cost portable drones. The objective of this new family of systems is to meet the increasingly urgent need of the Pentagon’s Replicator Initiative for swarms of low-cost “attritable” ISR and surgical strike drones deployable in air, land, sea, and sub-sea environments.
Red Cat’s mission is to redefine the role of sUAS for defense applications by combining the capabilities of ISR drones with precision strike payloads. The company is an established leader in the sUAS (Group 1) space with its flagship Teal 2 aircraft. As part of the new family of systems, Red Cat is introducing FANG™, a new First-Person View (FPV) drone with precision strike payload capabilities. Weighing only 1200g, the Edge can fly for over 2 hours in forward flight mode, an industry-leading endurance among all other Blue UAS approved drones available.
Teal 2 and future variants are cost-effective, man-portable sUAS designed to “Dominate the Night™” that has best-in-class night vision, multi-vehicle control, and a fully modular design. Teal 2 has a flight time of 30 minutes and it is both Blue UAS Certified and FAA Remote ID approved. Used together with FPV strike drones, Teal drones can be used to provide battle damage assessment once a target has been engaged.
FANG™, an FPV drone with a flight time of 10 minutes (under development and undergoing Blue UAS certification), will add surgical strike capabilities. Warfighters can combine and deploy these FPV drones with lethal payloads and ISR drones based on the mission profile for seek and destroy capabilities.

The TT Plate Carrier QR LC was field-tested and recommended by law enforcement officers in the National Tactical Officers Association (NTOA) Member Tested and Recommended Program.
Knoxville, Tenn. The TT Plate Carrier QR LC was reviewed by three members of the NTOA. As part of the Member Tested and Recommended Program, the officers tested the TT Plate Carrier QR LC while on the job for maximum testing for design, performance, application, versatility, and other pertinent features.

The officer from Nebraska opted to switch out the original cummerbund for the MOLLE Style cummerbund that came with the TT Plate Carrier QR LC for comfort and to provide more room for gear.
“This plate carrier is exceptionally lightweight, thanks to its laser-cut MOLLE system. This translates to unmatched agility and freedom of movement during critical operations. Our SWAT team members felt unrestricted and reported a significant improvement in maneuverability compared to bulkier carriers,” review by the Arkansas Officer.
The officer reviewing the TT Plate Carrier QR LC from Arkansas is part of a SWAT Team that rigorously tested the plate carrier. He deemed it an excellent choice for SWAT teams and tactical professionals who prioritize lightweight mobility and ease of use without compromising on protection. The team appreciated the streamlined design which made the carrier snag-free when going through tight spaces. He also liked the ROC buckle that allowed for swift removal of the plate carrier in emergencies, proving to be easy to use and reliable during the SWAT Team drills.

This lightweight plate carrier is designed to offer a sleek and modern look, with a MOLLE system in laser-cut technology. The TT Plate Carrier QR LC is designed to fit SAPI plates of 12 x 10 in. (30 x 25 cm). It features a quick-release system with ROC buckle, which allows the wearer to quickly and easily remove the plate carrier in case of an emergency. The shoulder straps are adjustable, ranging from a minimum of 11 in. (28 cm) to a maximum of 20 in. (52 cm), providing a comfortable and customized fit for all users.
One of the most notable features of the TT Plate Carrier QR LC is its laser-cut MOLLE system, which gives the plate carrier a clean and streamlined look. The front and side areas of the plate carrier also feature a MOLLE system, which allows for individual customization and extension.
Additionally, the TT Plate Carrier QR LC is compatible with many other TT products, allowing for seamless integration. The plate carrier also includes an integrated radio equipment pocket and switchable side sections for using pouches for ballistic side plates.
The TT Plate Carrier QR LC weighs 2.87 lbs. and is made from Cordura® 700 Denier (MultiCam 500 Denier). It is available in Black, Olive, and Coyote for an MSRP of $449.00 and MultiCam for an MSRP of $499.00.
