B.E. Meyers & Co. heads to Capitol Hill

First launched in 2022, the “Accelerate the Procurement and Fielding of Innovative Technologies” (APFIT) Program was designed to help small and non-traditional defense companies quickly field innovative technologies to the US Military, bridging the “Valley of Death” from R&D to full scale production. B.E. Meyers & Co.™, is a small family owned business specialized in advanced photonics (lasers)  and was an excellent candidate for the APFIT program. The B.E. Meyers & Co.™ advanced DAGIR® multi-function, multi-platform laser was chosen to be part of the APFIT program.  APFIT became a permanent program of record in FY2025.

B.E. Meyers & Co.™ recently went to Capitol Hill along with other recipients of APFIT awards to present the results of American investment in innovative defense tech. A variant of the DAGIR® -V1 is now the US Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) standard issue laser (LA-30) and will phase out existing legacy laser systems. Downstream effects of the success of the APFIT program with B.E. Meyers & Co.™ are already presenting themselves, with the the U.S. Army’s recent purchase of a DAGIR®-V1 variant for their close combat units.
