Sarsilmaz is a privately owned small arms manufacturer based in Düzce, Turkey. The company was founded in 1880 and is the largest small arms manufacturer in Turkey. Sarsilmaz is the official pistol supplier and many of the small arms used by the Turkish National Police and the Turkish Armed Forces, the company also exports firearms to 78 countries. Sarsilmaz announced the SAR 9 in a 2017 press release to be distributed through Miami, FL based SAR USA , founded in 2018. .
