Team SIG’s Daniel Horner Takes Top Spot at 2025 SMM 3-Gun Match
NEWINGTON, N.H., (March 24, 2025) – SIG SAUER, Inc. congratulates Team SIG professional shooter Daniel Horner on his first place win at the 2025 Superstition Mountain Mystery 3-Gun Match. This achievement adds to Horner’s historic achievements in 3-gun competition with the MCX-SPEAR LT rifle, following his team gold at IPSC World Shoot and championship title at Multi-Gun Nationals in 2024.

At the 2025 Superstition Mountain Mystery 3-Gun Horner competed through eleven stages equipped with his MCX-SPEAR LT rifle and TANGO6T riflescope, P320-DH3 pistol using iron sights, SIG SAUER Match Elite competition ammunition, KILO10K GEN II rangefinding binoculars, and ZULU6 stabilizing binoculars.

The MCX-SPEAR LT rifle was developed for an exclusive special operations military program that has since been adopted and fielded throughout the world. In 2022, the SIG SAUER MCX-SPEAR was selected by the U.S. Army for the Next Generation Squad Weapons (NGSW) program, bringing an entirely new level of performance, reliability, and capability to the soldiers. In 2024, the U.S. Army officially began fielding the MCX-SPEAR as the XM7 as the squad rifle replacing the M4.
