Rogers, AR (July 9, 2025) – Airguns have a special place in hunting performance and target applications. While firearms typically dominate these categories, archery has been the longest-held hunting and target tradition for over a millennium. With compound and crossbows finding their way into sports shooting, Hatsan brings arrow air rifles to life. Combining these two is not a simple task, and Hatsan has developed the most versatile – and the most affordable – option that utilizes air rifle technology with an archery focus.

The Harpoon Arrow Launcher is a fully capable, revolutionary arrow launcher. As the name implies, this robust bullpup design incorporates a side-lever action in a PCP (pre-charged pneumatic) that can reliably send arrows downrange at up to 600 FPS and up to 300 FPE, delivering exceptional power and precision.

The heart of the Harpoon Arrow Launcher is powered by a patented gas piston hammer spring. The design utilizes a 500cc aluminum air bottle that stores up to 250 BAR of pressure, firing up to 10 shots at optimal velocity for extended range and hunting time.

The design is centered around a standard 20” crossbow arrow (bolt). The advanced polymer stock features an integrated pistol grip. An adjustable locking elevation cheek rest and adjustable rubberized butt pad allow maximum adjustability for shooters of all sizes. An optic can be fixed to the long combination rail for those longer and more difficult shots, accepting 11mm and Picatinny mounts.

The Harpoon Arrow Launcher weighs 9.5 lbs, aiding in recoil mitigation, yet remains light enough for all-day use and carry. A shroud surrounds the arrow launcher and has additional storage for two arrows, making reloading and firing a simplified and fast process.

Hydra Arrow provides additional versatility nearly unseen in the air rifle world. The Hydra features Versi-Cal Technology (VCT) – a barrel change and swap system – an arrow module that allows the Hydra to fire pellets of varying sizes and arrows. A user can incorporate hunting, target, and archery into one platform with a quick change in less than 20 seconds. Swapping from .177, .22, or .25 caliber to a 20″ arrow takes little time and is suitable for all shooters. The arrow module is enclosed in a ventilated stainless steel shroud with integrated storage for two additional arrows. It launches a standard 20-inch, 370-grain arrow at 170 FPS with 25 PFE in low-power mode and up to 220 FPS with 45 PFE in high-power mode. Power is delivered by a 165cc, 200 BAR aluminum cylinder equipped with an anti-knock system, with pressure levels that can be continuously monitored by a built-in gauge.

Corrosion-resistant black anodized aluminum receivers sit in an ambidextrous all-weather synthetic stock with a Monte Carlo cheek rest raised on both sides. An elevation and fit angle adjustable buttpad ensures customization for all types of shooters and environments. It features a pistol-grip thumbhole stock and integrates a Picatinny rail on the forend. Each barrel module incorporates a combination of 11mm dovetail and 22mm Weaver optics rail and additional flip-up fiber optic sights. To make the shooting experience more pleasant, the Hydra Synthetic Arrow also features a 2-stage, fully adjustable, match Quattro Trigger, adjustable for trigger travel and load. The best part is that it weighs a mere 6.8 lbs with full-caliber conversion potential and shooting needs.

Combining the best of both worlds in sport and target shooting, arrow airguns like the Hydra and Harpoon take conventionally standard arrows and incorporate their peak performance capabilities and benefits into easy-to-use performance platforms. EAGLEVILLE, PA, July 8, 2025 – Streamlight^®, Inc., a leading provider of high-performance lighting, launched the ProTac^® HP-X USB and ProTac^® HP-X, powerful handheld flashlights designed to deliver high candela, a focused beam and long–distance illumination in a tactical-sized body.

Both models deliver 800 lumens, 105,000 candela, and a beam distance of 648 meters. These lights offer pure candela performance, built for search, precision, and perimeter control, making them ideal for a variety of applications where throw and brightness are critical.

“The new ProTac HP-X series delivers the high intensity beams and versatility that professionals such as those in law enforcement, search and rescue, security, and industrial operations depend on,” said Michael F. The ProTac HP-X USB includes a Streamlight SL-B26^®-protected Li-Ion USB rechargeable battery pack, featuring an integrated USB-C charge port for on-the-go charging. This USB model provides up to 31 hours of run time and recharges in five hours.

The ProTac HP-X includes two CR123A lithium batteries, offering flexibility for users who prefer or require disposable power sources, and delivers up to 24 hours of run time.

The series includes a multi-function tactical tail cap switch for momentary or constant-on operation and TEN-TAP^® programming, allowing users to select from three different programs: high/strobe/low, high only, or low/medium/high. Additional features include an anti-roll face cap and unbreakable pocket clip and holster.

Built from 6000 series machined aircraft aluminum with a Type II MIL-Spec anodized finish, the lights are impact-resistant to two meters, and IP68-rated for dust-tight and waterproof operation to two meters.

The ProTac HP-X USB weighs 5.9 oz with SL-B26 battery, and the ProTac HP-X weighs 5.4 oz with two CR123A batteries.

The ProTac HP-X USB and ProTac HP-X have MSRPs of $198.21 and $178.39, respectively. Available in black, both come with Streamlight’s Limited Lifetime Warranty.

Indonesia has become the latest country to embrace automation in policing, unveiling a new lineup of robotic officers designed to support law enforcement operations across a range of scenarios. The robotic units were formally introduced during the 79th anniversary celebrations of the Indonesian National Police (Polri) on July 1, 2025, in Jakarta.

The event featured a live demonstration of 25 robotic officers, including humanoid robots, tank-like platforms, robot dogs, and more. All units were equipped with advanced AI capabilities and dressed in full uniforms, complete with berets and tactical gear.

According to Interesting Engineering, these AI-driven systems are intended to enhance operational safety and efficiency in tasks considered high-risk or repetitive. Core capabilities include bomb disposal, forensic evidence collection, search-and-rescue, and crowd control. Facial recognition systems and surveillance sensors are integrated into the humanoid robots, which may also be tasked with identifying traffic violations or supporting riot response.

Polri officials emphasized seven primary operational functions for the robotic force: hazardous zone monitoring, explosives detection, narcotics identification, traffic enforcement, smart facial recognition patrols, search-and-rescue missions, and support during public disturbances.

The robotic dogs replicate many of the capabilities of traditional police canines. Designed for mobility and rugged terrain, these units are expected to contribute to hazardous material detection and narcotics investigations.

This initiative is part of a broader modernization strategy by Indonesian authorities to digitize public security infrastructure and reduce human risk in dangerous field operations.

Globally, robotic systems are increasingly integrated into policing and public safety frameworks. In the U.S., robots are widely used for bomb disposal, SWAT support, and surveillance in urban areas. Similar programs exist in China, where AI-driven systems monitor transportation hubs and public squares, and in the UAE, where Dubai aims to have robots account for 25% of its police force by 2030.

As the use of robotics expands across security sectors, so do discussions about ethics, data privacy, and the long-term implications of automated law enforcement. For now, Indonesia joins a growing list of nations leveraging robotics to transform traditional policing models and enhance national readiness.

Brandon Maddox Appointed to NSSF Board of Governors

Maddox brings a unique blend of business leadership, regulatory expertise and passionate advocacy for the shooting sports to his new role on the board.

Maddox founded Silencer Central in 2005 with the goal of simplifying the silencer purchasing process for sportsmen and firearm enthusiasts. Today, the Sioux Falls-based company is one of the nation’s largest silencer dealers, serving customers in 42 states where suppressors are legal.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — NSSF^®, The Firearm Industry Trade Association, applauds President Donald Trump’s Executive Order Establishing the “Make America Beautiful Again” Commission. President Trump signed the Executive Order on July 3, which will prioritize expanding public land access for hunting and encourage wildlife conservation efforts through proactive, voluntary, on-the-ground collaborative efforts.

“President Trump’s Executive Order is a significant step toward ensuring public lands continue to be places where the public can safely practice and pass along the traditions of hunting and recreational target shooting,” said Joseph Bartozzi, NSSF President and CEO. “Equally important is the commitment to sustainable wildlife conservation. Thriving wildlife across America is successful only through the investments by hunter-conservationists and firearm and ammunition manufacturers that pay the overwhelming share of excise tax dollars to fund this vital effort. America’s successful wildlife conservation is the envy of the world. Conservation-minded policies keep us connected to the lands and the wildlife we enjoy.”

President Trump’s “Make America Beautiful Again” Commission will be chaired by U.S. Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum. The commission’s focus will be on conserving America’s national treasures and natural resources, facilitating interagency coordination on conservation efforts, providing the president with actionable recommendations to improve conservation efforts, developing policies to recover fish and wildlife populations through collaboration over regulation and including state wildlife agencies in those efforts.

Key to these efforts will be developing policies that will expand access to public lands, national parks, national forests and wildlife refuges to promote outdoor recreational activities, including hunting.

President Trump’s Executive Order noted that hunters, hikers, anglers and outdoorsmen and women have been stripped of their ability to access public lands through mismanagement of public land resources, regulatory overreach and neglect of routine maintenance. The Executive Order also recognized that bureaucratic restrictions have undermined outdoor traditions and threatened conservation funding. Additionally, President Trump noted that since the NSSF-supported Great American Outdoors Act was signed into law, the outdoor recreation economy has grown to $1.2 trillion in economic output and comprises 3.1 percent – or 5 million – jobs in the United States.

President Trump’s Executive Order follows Secretary Burgum’s Secretarial Order to begin implementing key provisions of the NSSF-supported Expanding Public Lands Outdoor Recreation Experiences (EXPLORE) Act, which was signed into law last year. The EXPLORE Act includes the NSSF-priority Range Access Act, which requires the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and the U.S. Forest Service (USFS), after consultation with local stakeholders, to build recreational shooting ranges in each BLM district and National Forest in areas where opportunities do not already exist. These opportunities will allow for more access to public shooting ranges for target practice, to sight in rifles and shotguns before the hunting season and venues for in-person hunter safety education courses, all without competing against private ranges that offer the same opportunities.
