NSSF Praises Utah’s Gov. Cox for Signing Firearms Liabilities Amendments into Law
WASHINGTON, D.C. — NSSF®, The Firearm Industry Trade Association, praises Utah’s Gov. Spencer Cox for signing House Bill 214, Firearms Liability Amendments, into law in a ceremony in Salt Lake City. The NSSF-supported House Bill 214 amends civil liability laws to protect firearm and firearm accessory related businesses. The new law prevents foreign nationals and political subdivisions from launching junk lawsuits and creating civil liabilities for manufacturers, sellers and trade organizations. NSSF’s Nephi Cole, Director, Government Relations – State Affairs (fifth from right), was on hand for the signing ceremony.
“Utah is leading the nation in adding protections for members of the firearm and ammunition industry from activists who engage in lawfare to enact gun control measures through frivolous litigation,” Cole said. “Utah lawmakers recognized that malevolent actors have ignored the federal Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (PLCAA) to bring frivolous lawsuits against members of the firearm and ammunition industry for the criminal misuse of lawfully sold firearms. With Governor Cox’s signature, Utah is making clear that gun control advocates will not be allowed to launch junk lawsuits against the firearm industry in Utah.”
House Bill 214, Firearms Liability Amendments, blocks lawsuits gun control advocates have pursued in an attempt to circumvent the bipartisan PLCAA. This new Utah law specifically addresses the so-called “predicate exception” and adds PLCAA-like protections to firearm accessories and products intended to be attached to and used in conjunction with firearms and ammunition (e.g., suppressors).
Utah is the first state to pass the NSSF’s state liability reform language and brings added protection against attempts by gun control advocates to force “legislation through litigation” and impose gun control measures that have been expressly rejected by legislative bodies. The PLCAA blocks lawsuits that attempt to hold firearm and ammunition industry companies liable for the criminal actions of third parties who misuse the industry’s legal, lawful sold, non-defective products. More specifically, this commonsense law ensures that responsible and law-abiding federally licensed manufacturers and retailers of firearms and ammunition are not unjustly blamed in federal and state civil actions for “the harm caused by those who criminally or unlawfully misuse” these products that function as designed and intended.

Spring Range Session: Start With These 5 Drills
Spring training is here. The weather is warmer and the days are longer. You’re hitting the range more. Here are five drills to knock off the winter rust and sharpen your fundamentals. Try them with both carbine and handgun.
1. DOT TORTURE
DISTANCE: 3–5 YARDS | 50 ROUNDS
Use a target with ten small circles. Each circle has a specific task — slow fire, draws, strong-hand only, reloads. Five rounds per circle.
The focus here is fundamentals: trigger control, sight alignment, and discipline. If winter left your shooting a little sloppy, this drill would show it — and help fix it. Remember your optic offset!
2. BILL DRILL
DISTANCE: 7 YARDS | 6 ROUNDS
From the holster, fire six rounds into the A‑zone as quickly as you can maintain control.
Named after Bill Wilson, the Bill Drill tests recoil management, grip, and your ability to track your sights under speed.
It’s simple, but brutally honest.
3. FAILURE DRILL (MOZAMBIQUE)
DISTANCE: 5–7 YARDS | 3 ROUNDS PER REP
Two shots to the body, followed by one to the head.
The drill became widely known through teachings from Col. Jeff Cooper. According to the story, a mercenary in Mozambique stopped a threat only after transitioning from center‑mass shots to a headshot.
Today, the drill teaches target transitions, recoil control, and precision under speed.
4. THROTTLE CONTROL
DISTANCE: 5 YARDS
Popularized by T.REX Arms, the Throttle Control drill helps shooters manage cadence and transitions between targets.
From the draw, engage each circle according to the number printed inside it. Larger circles allow faster splits, while smaller circles force you to slow down and confirm the sight picture.
The goal is learning to “drive the throttle” — shooting fast when the target allows it and slowing down when precision demands it.
5. 1‑RELOAD‑1 DRILL
DISTANCE: 7 YARDS
Start with one round in the gun and a loaded magazine on your belt. Fire one round, reload, and fire one more.
It’s a simple way to work on efficient reloads while keeping your sights on target.
You don’t need a complicated training plan to get back into rhythm. A few focused drills and consistent reps can quickly bring your fundamentals back online.

NEWINGTON, N.H., (March 25, 2026) – SIG SAUER is proud to host the Aiming For Zero Charity Falling Steel Match, an annual mission-driven event at the SIG SAUER Academy in Epping, New Hampshire. This event brings members of the military, law enforcement and shooting sports communities together in unified support of a shared objective: ending Veteran suicide.
Aiming For Zero’s mission is to eliminate veteran suicide by fostering a supportive network through competitive shooting events and proactive engagement with veterans, service members, and their families. SIG SAUER’s workforce is one-third veteran, and we are committed to supporting the military members who serve and protect our country. We are honored to host this important event.
The Falling Steel Match is structured as a competitive shooting event, but its purpose extends far beyond sport; Aiming For Zero’s competitive model is intentionally designed to foster authentic human connection, increase awareness of critical support resources, and facilitate direct engagement between participants and organizations dedicated to serving veterans and their families. At its core, the match serves as a platform where community, shared experience, and purpose reinforce principles of prevention and recovery through meaningful connection.

(GA‑ASI), a leading manufacturer of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS), tactical reconnaissance radars, and electro-optic surveillance systems, along with SELEX Galileo (a Finmeccanica company) and Cobham Aviation Services (Cobham), today demonstrated a new open payload architecture during the Sovereign Payload Capability Demonstration (SPCD) held at GA-ASI’s Gray Butte Flight Operations Facilities in Palmdale, Calif.
The event included a live flight demonstration over the Pacific Ocean of a GA-ASI Predator® B/MQ-9 Reaper UAS fitted with a SELEX Galileo Seaspray 7500E surveillance radar and showcased the radar’s ability to track targets on land, in the littoral and maritime environments, and from air-to-air. An international audience was in attendance, including officials from the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and the Ministries of Defense of the UK, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, and The Netherlands.
“Today’s demonstration represents a significant step toward the goal of operational independence for Predator B,” said Frank W. Pace, president, Aircraft Systems Group, GA-ASI. “Our open payload architecture greatly reduces integration complexity by allowing payload providers and mission systems integrators to develop their own payload control software and ultimately integrate their own payloads.”
The SPCD is part of a joint Independent Research and Development (IRAD) effort between GA-ASI and SELEX Galileo to prove the concept and architecture for a fully certified Predator B incorporating a separate mission management system that supports the independent and cost-effective upgrade of future sovereign payloads. GA-ASI performed the software and hardware modifications to the Predator B system to implement the open payload architecture, while SELEX Galileo delivered the radar and supported the integration work. Cobham provides support to UK airworthiness procedures and through-life support as GA-ASI’s teammate in the UK responsible for whole life support arrangements for the Royal Air Force’s (RAF’s) MQ-9 Reaper UAS.

Initial testing of the new architecture was completed in September 2011, demonstrating the ability to host third party-developed payload control software on existing airborne and Ground Control Station (GCS) processors. Today’s SPCD is the first phase in the flight demonstration process, with future phases envisioned to demonstrate systems integration independent of GA-ASI’s involvement.

After decades of success with the original Combat Master, Galco unveils the Combat Master 2.0, bringing the traditional pancake holster in line with modern EDC preferences.
A professional-grade belt holster hand-molded by Galco’s experienced craftsmen to fit specific handguns, the updated 2.0 design is cut to accommodate most carry-style optics while working equally well with iron-sighted pistols. The optic cutaway also allows the pistol to clear leather even faster, and promotes a smoother, faster draw for shorter-waisted users.
The raised sweat guard protects the wearer’s body from the pistol, and the pistol from the body’s natural perspiration.
Detailed hand-molding gives it excellent retention properties along with a beautiful appearance. But beauty is only skin-deep, especially in a holster designed for concealment. The Combat Master 2.0’s traditional high-riding pancake-style design places the belt slots on either side of the holster, pulling the handgun tight to the body and making defensive handguns disappear.
It features an open top with firing grip accessibility for speed, since time is often in short supply in defensive situations. Premium steerhide construction with double-stitched seams enhance durability, making the Combat Master 2.0 one of the longest-lasting leather holsters money can buy.
