
Call for Abstracts
Plan ahead and join us for NDIA’s 2025 Undersea Warfare Fall Conference, scheduled for September 15 – 17, 2025, in Groton, CT. This in-person conference serves as the leading forum for networking and learning the latest news in the undersea warfare community. Connect with the brightest minds and gain insight into the latest requirements and developments in undersea warfare, including those related to countering submarine and mine threats as well as power projection from the sea.
The National Defense Industrial Association’s (NDIA) Undersea Warfare Division invites authors of high-quality professional abstracts to submit their work for technical presentation at the 2025 Undersea Warfare Fall Conference. This year’s Fall Conference will now be conducted at FVEY classified level with AUKUS government and industry participation, as both speakers and attendees, in the plenary and technical sessions. We will be able to accommodate briefs that are not releasable to AUKUS.
Material presented by U.S. industry, in the presence of foreign nationals, is considered an export and is subject to International Trafficking in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Speakers will be required to submit an ITAR exemption request to the Navy International Programs Office (NIPO). Once NIPO approves the ITAR exemption requests, speakers will need to self-certify (2 – 4 weeks prior to event). Additionally, all U.S. presentations that will be presented to REL UK, REL AUS must be reviewed and approved by the Foreign Disclosure Officer (FDO) prior to the conference. The deadline for all briefing material to be submitted to NDIA is August 25 at 8:00 am EDT to allow time for FDO review.
Briefs submitted by UK or AUS government or industry speakers must follow their national requirements.
Each UK | AUS attendee will need to submit a Foreign Visit Request (FVR) via their embassy in the United States to pass their clearance to the host via the process on the website.

Submit an Abstract
Each abstract must be UNCLASSIFIED and cleared for public release with unlimited distribution (Distribution A). Each abstract should fit into one of the following Technical Sessions:
- Undersea Sensors
- Combat System/C4I
- Mine Warfare
- Aviation
- Undersea Vehicles
For each U.S. industry speaker, the following information should be included at the top of your abstract to facilitate inclusion in ITAR exemption request:
- Company Empowered Official (name and contact information)
- Company Department of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC) Registration Code
- Company DDTC Registration Expiration
Individuals are required to submit a concise abstract of 4,000 characters or fewer by June 20 at 11:59 pm EDT. Authors will be notified whether their abstract has been accepted by July 11, 2025.
