Kansas City, KS (October 23, 2019) – What began as an innovative idea among the brilliant minds at CZ and Dan Wesson resulted in the new jaw-dropping DWX pistol, which is a grand melding between the two pistol families. Available in 9mm and .40 S&W, the DWX is also offered in compact and full-size models, making it ideal for everything from USPSA competition to everyday carry and recreational shooting.
The DWX features a crisp single-action fire control group from a Dan Wesson 1911 and combines it with the ergonomics and capacity of a CZ pistol. The grip angle and contour originate with the venerable CZ 75, providing an incredible fit for most shooters. Likewise, the full-size DWX is compatible with standard CZ 75 grips, while the compact can utilize those from a 75 Compact. In addition, low-profile red aluminum grips were added to help drive the shooter’s hand high in the beavertail and provide a fantastic texture.
More than just a competition handgun, the DWX sports a locked-breech barrel system for simplicity and features a CZ-style takedown via the slide stop. The DWX also employs double-stack magazines that allow for a 19+1 capacity in the full-size variant. When it comes to feeding the DWX, the full-size variant uses a magazine based on the P-09/P-10, while the compact models utilize a 75 Compact magazine.
An ambidextrous safety delivers easy access to right- and left-handed shooters, while a flat, K-style trigger offers a textured face and premium accuracy. In addition, front strap checkering aids in grip control, while a 1913 Picatinny rail makes easy work of mounting a light or laser.
The other great feature of the DWX is that it is highly tunable and customizable, making it ideal for competition use. Likewise, the sighting system is highly customizable and includes a 1911-style dovetail front sight and CZ Shadow 2-style rear sight. The match-grade barrel with a bushing-less barrel system resembles that of the P-10/P-09/P-07 and offers shooters unparalleled accuracy.

Remember that the alternative to a shoot the shit is a trip to the therapist where you will hand $150+ per hour to a jackass that studied psychology so they could understand themselves.
Did you guys catch Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez drilling Facebook’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg. If you missed it you can watch it below. Her entire line of questioning points to a conscious desire to suppress conservative dialogue. The most revealing section starts at 2:40. She actually wants to determine if Facebook will take down a politicians’ ad that contains lies! Solution: Don’t accept political ads. Am I right or what?
Now, how would Facebook make that determination. Take for example her own claims that the world will end in 10 years! For that matter, how can Facebook ensure the accuracy and validity of what is being published on their platform by any of its subscribers? You can’t, it’s a free for all, which is the reason social media is the best force multiplier for terrorist organization and foreign intelligence services. ISIS reconstituting in the Middle East is clearly a problem, but our greatest threat is some brainwashed jackass, with a laptop and internet access, coordinating imbedded cells. The FBI counter terrorist branch is busier than a one-legged man in an ass kicking contest! But, I digress.

The chart below shows what the average monthly premiums are for family coverage. Annualized it’s $14,016 per household. So the question that needs to be asked is how much of a tax increase will be needed to offset current annual household costs. So maybe their plan is to hit the taxpayer with a tax increase and also pay a monthly premium. What does the sum of the two look like, Bernie and Elizabeth? Smoke and mirrors readers!

Shooters World’s Two New Locations Earn NSSF Five-Star Ratings

NEWTOWN, Conn. — The National Shooting Sports Foundation®(NSSF®), the trade association for the firearms industry, is pleased to announce that it has awarded its highest Five-Star rating for range excellence to both of Shooters World’s two new locations in central Florida. Shooters World’s new second location is located in The Villages, about a 90-minute drive north from Shooters World’s original location in Tampa, while its third new enterprise has its footprint in Orlando. Orlando entertained 78 million visitors in 2018 and was rated the No. 1 travel destination in the U.S, according to the Visit Orlando Tourism organization.
The 52,000-square-foot Villages location sports a total of 39 shooting lanes: 20 at 15 yards, 10 and 25 yards and nine 100-yard lanes. At these two newest Shooters World locations, the 100-yard ranges are intended for rifle fire and can handle calibers up to .50 BMG.

The following morning begins early with a 7:30 am NASGW wholesaler member meeting. The regular expo continues throughout the day with a happy hour on the show floor at 3 pm.
Thursday is the final full day with a SCOPE Update at 8 am, the regularly scheduled day of expo exhibits and another happy hour in the afternoon. Things wrap up Friday with a half-day of exhibits before exhibitors begin moving out at noon. The show is highlighted by the Caliber Awards that recognize the best new products in the rifle, handgun, shotgun, ammunition, optic and accessory categories.

LENEXA, KANSAS – October 18th, 2019 – Congratulations on an incredible feat! On October 12, 2019, Aguila Ammunition pro-shooter and CZ-USA Shotgun Product and Special Event Manager Dave Miller and his team, set a new Guinness World record for most sporting clays shot in a 12-hour time frame by a 5-person team.
The original Guinness record for most sporting clays shot in 12 hours by a 5-person team was 4,602 targets. The team blew that record away in just 4 hours and 16 minutes. They continued to set a new Guinness World record by shooting 14,167 targets in 12 hours!
“Thanks to Aguila Ammunition for providing a premium quality shot shell,” says Miller. “My team and I fired 20,425 of their 12-gauge 1oz 1,275fps target loads over the 12-hour period and had zero misfires. This is a true testament to the quality of their products, now they can officially say they have a world record setting shot shell”.

The MicroRDS is a small, rugged, energy efficient, electro-optical red dot sight designed for handguns, shotguns, and rifles with a large display window and a clearly defined red-dot for fast target acquisition with both eyes open. The MicroRDS Kit includes a patent-pending dovetail adapter with a quick detach mechanism that allows mounting and dismounting the MicroRDS on the gun with a click of a finger. The adapter includes high-quality Meprolight Night Sights that allow accurate and fast shooting under any lighting conditions when the MicroRDS Optic is removed.
Meprolight’s self-illuminated sight offerings include the FT Bullseye, similar to an optical sight, but in a small, low profile with an aim point in the form of an illuminated dot and circle bullseye.
The MEPRO MX3 T, the new magnifying scope with an integrated side flip adaptor and 3X magnification is designed for the distance shooter. Also, new is the MEPRO FT Single Dot and FT Two Dot, fiber-tritium optimized for day and night brightness on a super compact, low-profile platform.

Othram Launches Forensic Genealogy Service for Law Enforcement

Honey It’s a They!
This week has gone by like a shoot, so here we are looking forward to the weekend and a little R&R. It’s also time for our weekly shoot the shit. But, before getting started I would like to take a moment to expresses my sincerest condolences to Congressman Elijah Cummings’ family and Congressional colleagues. I had the opportunity to meet the Congressman a number of years ago – a warm and extremely nice man.
So, what’s a shoot the shit? Simply stated, it’s a social event assembled to talk about anything that comes to mind whether you know anything about it or not. Participants are free to make unsupported statements, use uncensored profanity, insult anyone they wish or change the subject. Shoot the shits enhance cultural interaction, promote comradery; as such, they’re a great team building tool. They are also more effective, than paying $150 to a jackass who studied psychology so they could understand themselves.
So let’s get started…
Another Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez moment in history
During her speech at the 2019 C40 World Mayors Summit in Copenhagen our Twitter Princess says:
AOC: “If I were to have a child in the next few years, he, she, or they, will have to contend with the world where some of our most precious, critical infrastructure goes underwater. I speak to you as a human being. A woman whose dreams of motherhood now it taste bittersweet.”
Forget for a moment that the entire event was theatrics by someone who wouldn’t know a carbon atom from a tootsie roll , she is concerned about having a child in the next few years, he, she or they. So, what the hell is a they?
(baby crying loudly in the background) A gowned doctor slowly walks out to the waiting area and says to the anxiously anticipating father – Mr. Jones you are the proud father of a 7 lb. baby they.
The other thing that really bothered the heck out of me this week was the entire NBA/China extravaganza. If you’re not up to speed on that issue, here’s the 30,000 ft view.
Daryl Morey, the general manager of the Houston Rockets, fired off a Twitter post using a slogan used by the protesters in Hong Kong, just as the league was preparing to stage games in Shanghai and Shenzhen between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Nets. Morey later deleted the post. Bottom line he was expressing his support for the Hong Kong protestors. That, apparently upset the Chinese government who took the games off the air. Impacting the NBA’s wallet.
The NBA Commissioner Adam Silver, who could very well be an extraterrestrial, failed to support Daryl Morey for expressing his views; choosing instead to cave to the Chinese prioritizing the financial relationship between China and the NBA than the rights of people to freely express themselves.
I’m sure he’s a great American and NBA Commissioner but he could also be cast as Jack Jeebs the humanoid form alien from Men in Black 1 and 2. Jack Jeebs works in a pawn shop and can alter his face to look like someone else.
Long Range and Extended Range precision shooting have taken off as a sport. Sending a 6.5 Creedmore round down range to hit a small steel target at over 1200 yards is challenging. Muzzle velocity, ballistic coefficients, barrel rifling, environmental data like station pressure, ambient temperature, wind and wind direction, spindrift and coriolis effect are significant in the overall equation. But as simplistic as it may seem, the most challenging component for most shooters is wind.
Solving for wind involves two vector quantities the wind vector which consists of wind direction and speed and the firing vector, which consists of direction of fire and target range. In 2019, there is a veritable cornucopia of tools available to the shooter; in the form of wind meters, ballistic applications and computers designed to deal with all of the variables. Their use has significantly advanced the sport in many ways, but they’ve also impacted basic skills; much like what the availability of GPS has done to map and compass land navigation.
The figure on the left illustrates what we need to address to correct for wind. You can process the data using a wind meter and correct for the wind with a ballistic calculator but your meter’s impeller just fell out or your smart device died. Now what? That’s why I’m a huge proponent of basic skill preservation, and wind reading will help you. So, how can you repair those basic skill sets? Here’s one suggestion for you.
Read the wind by looking at the flag. What do you think it tells you? I called it a 4:00 o’clock at 5 mph.
Not a bad call! When you are out and about, take a wind meter with you and make wind calls using smoke stacks, flags, foliage or any one of several wind direction and speed clues like mirage, from a hot pavement. Go out and get those basic skills back. They won’t fail you when technology craps out!
