EAA’s new Commander-sized 1911-style pistols have features, options, and performance similar to the more expensive versions, with money to spare for accessories or ammo.

The 1911 pistol-style is one of the most sought-after models for everyday carry and competition and the new MC1911C and C-TV pistols will not disappoint. The fully-machined steel frame and slide are offered in three finishes: Blue/Black, Two-Tone, and a Dark Earth finish. The pistols feature a checkered frame grip front and back for added grip confidence. An accessory rail in front of the trigger guard allows for lights and lasers. Many of the features on these pistols are typically found on more expensive competition pistols, but come standard on the MC1911C and C-TV, such as a Novak® style rear sight, an extended beavertail with checkering, a long-hole hammer, slide serrations, and a skeletonized trigger. An option for a Dot Carry Optic instead of the Novak sight is available on the MC1911C-TV.

The MPA BA PMR “Pro” Competition Rifle utilizes the MPA BA Competition Chassis, which is machined on MPA’s CNC Horizontal Machining Centers to exacting tolerances from 6061 aluminum. The v-bedding system provides additional clearance for glass bedding action and straight section of the barrel. The chassis also includes a built-in inclinometer, thumb notch, lower mounted Picatinny Rail, 20 MOA Scope Rail, EVG Grip, Ultra Bag Rider, V4 Spigot Mount, Data Card Holder, and is R.A.T. System compatible. The MPA Buttstock comes with an adjustable cheek riser and length of pull that is locked in position with a series of set screws that are embedded into the buttstock body.

The MPA BA PMR “Pro” Competition Rifle includes an MPA DN3 Muzzle Brake, Rotating Barricade Stop, and 2 Round Holder. It also has an X-Caliber hand lapped 416R Stainless Premium Barrel Blank with a polished barrel finish. The chamber is indicated within 0.0001” or less to the bore of the rifle.

This will also be my last shoot the shit for 2019. Remember that a shoot the shit is a social interaction in which participants don’t need to know anything about the subject being discussed, they are free to make unsupported comments, use uncensored profanity, insult anyone they wish or change the subject altogether. Shoot the shits accomplish two important things, for a moment they separate you from Facebook, Twitter and Instagram allowing you to have human interaction; lastly, it will keep you from paying $150+ per hour to a jackass who studied psychology so they could understand themselves. Can you imagine sitting in front of someone like Dr. Christine Blasey Ford to explain why you like chicks in thongs. OK here we go.

Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to fire the Russian Dragunov SVD. If you’re not familiar with the SVD it’s the standard issue Designated Marksman and Sniper Rifle, chambered in the 7.62X54R cartridge. It’s a great damned rifle and I’d love to own one but at $10,000 + per copy I’ll have to be satisfied with just looking at one.

Anyway, Russian military units will soon surrender their Dragunov SVDs for the new Chukavin SVCh. The new DMR / Sniper rifle is manufactured by the Kalashnikov Group and was introduce at Russia’s 2017 Army Exhibition. The Spetsnaz and some of the other special Russian units have been using the new rifle and contributing to perfecting the design. The Russian government plans to rollout the new rifle for export and general military use 2020 – 2021.

The SVCh is chambered in 7.62x54R, 7.62×51 and the 338 Lapua Magnum, so take your choice. The rifle is fed from a Dragunov SVD 10-round box magazine, has an overall length of 1,000 mm, a barrel length of 410 mm, a weight of 4.3 kg (with empty magazine) and an accuracy of no more than 1 MOA at 100m. The barrel can be replaced with a longer versions of 460 mm or 565 mm as desired. The SVCh in 7.62×51 mm has the same specifications and is fed from a 20-round box magazine.

Some of the more interesting features, at least to me, are the full length Picatinny rail, AR style ambidextrous safety selector, the generous use of M-LOK attachment points along the handguard. Other features worthy of mention are the folding stock adjustable for length of pull and cheek height . So, this is no rehash of the AK or Cold War Dragunov.

The rifle’s operating system is a gas-operated short-stroke piston with rotating bolt that’s fitted with a manual gas regulator.

Kalashnikov Group feels that their Chukavin:

“meets the requirements to the best world`s DMRs, for instance, the M110 SASS (Semi-Automatic Sniper System) by the US Knight Armament Company (KAC) in terms of dimensions, magazine capacity and accuracy.”

I’ve shot the KAC M110 SASS and it is an extremely accurate rifle, so Kalashnikov’s claim is worthy of a side by side comparison. We’ll see…

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The National Shooting Sports Foundation® (NSSF®), the firearms industry trade association, is honoring the nation’s fallen law enforcement officers by contributing $25,000 to the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) Foundation. The donation was delivered to FOP National President Patrick Yoes at NSSF’s Washington D.C. office.

“The firearms industry proudly stands law enforcement and the brave men and women in blue across this great nation who every day don the uniform and uphold their oaths by putting their lives on the line to serve and protect our citizens,” said Lawrence G. Keane, NSSF Senior Vice President for Government Relations and Public Affairs and General Counsel. “Our industry is intrinsically tied to our police officers and for many like myself those roots run deep. As a former prosecutor and son of a New York City policeman, I am deeply grateful to represent our industry’s contribution to this worthy cause.”

The ongoing professional relationship between law enforcement and NSSF members extends well beyond the purchasing of firearms, ammunition and related products. NSSF enjoys longstanding relationships with law enforcement agencies to bring Real SolutionsSM that make communities safer. This partnership addresses the criminal misuse of firearms and the responsible ownership and storage of firearms.

The firearms industry, through NSSF’s partnership with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, administers the straw-purchase prevention campaign “Don’t Lie for the Other GuyTM”, that has both retailer education and public awareness components to educate federal firearms licensees of the warning signs of someone attempting to purchase a firearm for someone who may be prohibited from possessing firearms and educating the public of the consequences of a $250,000 fine and 10-year prison sentence for committing the felony crime of lying on the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) form. NSSF and the ATF extend this partnership through Operation Secure Store® that educates firearms retailers on measures they can take to prevent the theft and burglary of firearms. One particular component of that program NSSF’s commitment to matching rewards ATF rewards for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those involved in thefts from firearms retailers.

Project ChildSafe® supplies police departments with firearm safety kits for distribution in their communities. More than 38 million kits, which include a free firearm lock, have been handed out through 15,000 law enforcement organizations. Most recently, NSSF brought this effort to Texas at the request of Gov. Greg Abbott to distribute more than a half-million locks through with the assistance of a state grant of $1 million.

Firearms manufacturers have long recognized the importance of giving back to the law enforcement community — a community that is an important and growing segment of the firearms industry market. The law enforcement segment of the NSSF-owned and sponsored Shooting, Hunting and Outdoor Trade (SHOT) ShowSM represents 28 percent of the show’s floor space at nearly 180,000 square feet. If the segment were broken out as a stand-alone show, it would be the largest law enforcement show in the country.

The new Liberty Ammunition Ultra-Lights are the Civil Defense rounds taken one step further. Liberty Ammunition’s innovative projectiles have been added to Shell Shock Technologies’ groundbreaking NAS3 casings. The 9mm Ultra-Lights total cartridge weighs only 93 grains, and is 52 percent lighter than standard 125 grain 9mm lead jacketed hollow-points.

Liberty Ammunition’s Ultra-Lights projectiles are copper monolithic with nickel plating and are turned on a precision CNC machine for consistency and accuracy. They are lightweight, extremely fast projectiles, with a large diameter deep hollow-point cavity.

Our ammo penetrates barriers well, but when this cavity fills with soft tissue/liquid, the hydraulic pressure explodes the side walls of the projectile in a starburst-shaped pattern creating a devastating wound with multiple channels that cover a much greater area inside the target. Combined with Shell Shock Technologies’ two-piece cases, the new Ultra-Lights are the ultimate self-defense round.

About Shell Shock Technologies NAS3 Cases:

NAS3 9mm cases are 50 percent lighter than brass cases, offer greater lubricity and will not abrade, clog, foul, wear-out or damage breach and ejector mechanisms. The cases offer greater corrosion resistance, tensile strength (2x stronger) and elasticity than brass. NAS3cases will not split, chip, crack or grow (stretch) and are fully reloadable (using S3 Reload dies) and can be reloaded many more times than brass cases. NAS3 cases have been tested successfully by customers to pressures over 70k psi. NAS3 cases can be picked up with a magnet. The head can be colored for branding purposes and easy load identification.

NAS3 is “Best in Class” for maintaining consistent velocity between rounds. In an independent test performed by H.P. White Laboratory (a major munitions testing facility), rounds fired using NAS3 cases achieved a velocity standard deviation of 0.093 FPS (124-grain FMJ bullet, 4.2 grains Titegroup powder, 10 rounds, extreme variation 3fps).

Team Bushnell Finishes Season Strong at 2019 Australasia Championship

Pro Shooter KC Eusebio Places 1st Overall in Production Optics Light Division

OVERLAND PARK, Kansas – December 17, 2019 – Team Bushnell shooters put an exclamation mark on the end of the 2019 season, bringing home top place finishes at the 2019 IPSC Australasia Handgun Championship. Competing overseas in the last match of the season, team members KC Eusebio and Jessie Harrison traveled to Lipa City, Batangas, where they tested their shooting skills against a field of over a thousand competitors from the around the world. In the end, Eusebio finished 1st Overall in the Production Optics Light Division while fellow teammate Harrison placed 3rd Overall in the Ladies Open Division, both using the Bushnell First Strike 2.0.

Held every three years, the 2019 Australasia Championship featured four days of competition across 24 unique stages of fire. Rated as Level 4 match due to its high degree of difficulty and number of stages, this year’s championship was considered by many to be one of the most challenging international competitions outside of the World Shooting Championship.

Eusebio, who competed in and won during his last trip to the Australasia Championship in 2013, agreed that this year’s match was one of the toughest matches he’s participated in during his 24 years of competitive shooting.

“While this was one of the best international matches that I’ve competed in, the degree of difficulty each stage presented combined with the physical exhaustion that you experience with multiple days of intercontinental travel, it certainly pushed me to the limits,” said Eusebio. “Despite those challenges, I was very pleased with how I performed as it’s always a special feeling to claim another Australasia Handgun Championship title.”

A hometown favorite, Eusebio especially enjoyed the reception he received from the local spectators. “The Filipino culture is extremely gun friendly,” commented Eusebio. “This match certainly had a hometown feel to me and it means a lot that I was able to perform at such a high level on a world stage.”

Competing in the Production Optics Light Division with his Bushnell First Strike 2.0, Eusebio outpaced the field of competitors, utilizing the red dot to gain a competitive edge against an array of over 50 moving targets and other staged obstacles.

Meanwhile, teammate and Hoppe’s pro shooter Jessie Harrison also utilized the FS2 to bring home a bronze medal in the Ladies Open Division. Competing in the Australasia Championship for the first time, Harrison had nothing but compliments on the match.

“From the breathtaking opening ceremonies to the extremely accommodating ROs and match staff, this is certainly a match that I intend to shoot again,” said Harrison. “Enough can’t be said about all the individual efforts that went into hosting a match of this magnitude. It was in a way southern hospitality at its finest and I can’t wait to come back in 2022.”

Five revolvers are featured in The Blue and The Gray limited series. For the South, Cimarron offers the Leech & Rigdon CSA in .36 and the 1851 Richards Mason® Conversion in .38 Special.

Both North and South revolvers feature a finely rendered version in pure silver of the Old Glory Flag or the CSA Stars and Bars Battle Flag inlaid into the grips. The flag inlay was hand-carved from a block of micarta knife handle material by the legendary grip carver and maker Paul Persinger of El Paso, Texas. Champe Jennings, Cimarron’s fine jeweler in Fredericksburg, Texas, made the molds and cast the inlays in the pure silver for each revolver.

INDRA “THE FCAS WILL MEAN A GIANT LEAP IN COMPETITIVENESS ACROSS SPANISH INDUSTRY AS A WHOLE”

Madrid, December 13th 2019.- “The FCAS program will entail a tremendous development opportunity for the Spanish industry, and it will consolidate the sector’s position in the competitive arena introduced by the new Europe with its focus on Defence.” This was the message that Indra, as industrial coordinator of the program, conveyed to the research organizations and companies which had attended the work meeting convened by the Centre for the Development of Industrial Technology (CDTI) this Friday.

During his speech, the FCAS program director at Indra, Manuel Rodríguez Cerezo, explained that the program means a “considerable fast-tracking and will have tremendous impact in new dual-nature technology development – which can be marketed to both the military and civilian spheres – big data, artificial intelligence and advance simulation techniques being just a few of them.”

Indra’s director pointed out that this program is at the heart of the driving forces in all kinds of national technological capabilities – not only military – and that it shows a mature and pragmatic approach on the part of the State regarding its support for Research and Development (R&D) within Spanish companies.

According to Rodríguez Cerezo, it also benefits from “an enviable inter-ministerial coordination structure, which ensures focus, budget, prominence, industrial planning and a cross-cutting vision of all the program.” He also affirmed that the Government has displayed “tremendous determination and courage in adhering to the program during its earliest stages, which will in turn translate into tremendous technological development for the country.”

The FCAS will also provide the stability that the sector needs in order to tackle its digital transformation and to foster and facilitate its international business projection and global supply chain integration.

Companies, universities and other research bodies will work in the earliest stages of technological development, which will pose an important challenge.

According to Rodríguez Cerezo, this is a project for which “we must take advantage of all the capacities, talent and infrastructure available in Spain.”

He pointed out that, in order to succeed, it will be imperative for “each company to be clear and realistic in regards to its capacities and interests, and to work cohesively with other partners. A long-term business approach must prevail at all times.”

Indra’s role in the program will revolve around defending the interests of the Spanish State, coordinating and boosting the Spanish industry’s participation, and functioning as a point of contact and interlocutor with the Directorate-General of Armaments and Material (DGAM).

Rodríguez Cerezo considers that the FCAS will transform the business model of many companies in our country, so that R&D and product and proprietary technology development can become the new driving force for growth.

It will also serve as a lever to place them at the heart of the European Defence market, which will be seeing an influx of billions of euros in investment in the coming years.

According to Indra, Spanish industry will be able to compete in this new environment only if it has top-level technological capabilities and alliances with companies throughout Europe.
