Hartman describes the three different carry styles. Low ready allows a person to move and search for where the threat may be. The high-ready or outdoor-ready has the muzzle and head up at shoulder level for searching. The low-ready or indoor-ready has the muzzle pointed to the ground to be able to look around tight spaces.

DoD will allow payments to contractors who can’t work due to COVID-19 circumstances

ARLINGTON, VA — The Defense Department announced Thursday a class deviation to Section 3610 of the CARES Act that will let agencies reimburse contractors for payment to employees who can’t work because of COVID-19 facility closures or other restrictions.
The April 9 statement, available here,<https://www.defense.gov/Newsroom/Releases/Release/Article/2144750/dod-allows-payments-to-contractors-who-cannot-work-due-to-covid-19-facility-clo/> states the Defense Pricing and Contracting Office issued a deviation to the Federal Acquisition Regulation and the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement that “provides a framework for contracting officers to assess any claimed allowable costs associated with the declared public health emergency, recognizing the importance of supporting affected contractors to ensure that, together, we remain a healthy, resilient and responsive total force.”

This class deviation is the 17th COVID-19 guidance from the Defense Pricing and Contracting Office to help relieve impacts for the contracting community, according to the Defense Department. Firearm Industry Economic Impact Rises 213% Since 2008

NEWTOWN, Conn. — The total economic impact of the firearm and ammunition industry in the United States increased from $19.1 billion in 2008 to $60 billion in 2019, a 213-percent increase, while the total number of full-time-equivalent jobs rose from approximately 166,000 to over 332,000, a 100-percent increase in that period, according to a report released by the National Shooting Sports Foundation®(NSSF®), the firearm industry trade association.

On a year-over-year basis, the industry’s economic impact rose from $52 in 2018 to $60 billion. Total jobs increased by 20,000 in the same period, from nearly 312,000 to over 332,000. The broader impact of the industry flows throughout the economy and supports and generates business for firms seemingly unrelated to firearms at a time when every job in America counts. These are real people, with real jobs, working in industries as varied as banking, retail, accounting, metalworking and printing, among others.

The firearm and ammunition industry paid over $6.74 billion in business taxes, including property, income and sales-based levies.

“Our industry continues to show the steady and reliable growth that is a hallmark of a healthy industry,” said Joe Bartozzi, NSSF President and CEO. “The workers who comprise our ranks are the fabric of our communities. They produce the highest quality firearms and ammunition that millions of law-abiding Americans rely upon to exercise their fundamental right to keep and bear arms and safely enjoy the recreational shooting sports. This growth translates to more jobs that add to our local economies, averaging $55,200 in wages and benefits. In addition, since 2008 we increased federal tax payments by 162 percent, Pittman-Robertson excise taxes that support wildlife conservation by 79 percent and state business taxes by 116 percent.”

Week Three of The Lockdown Comes to an End

It’s Friday and time for our weekly shoot the shit. How’s everybody going for you? We’re wrapping up week three of the lockdown but before going any further I want to congratulate all of you for the disciple you’ve demonstrated in adhering to social distancing. It’s your efforts and sacrifice that have resulted in the decreasing infection rates. Well done! I was out for a drive today  and the neighborhood looked like someone put the on/off switch to the off position, dead. That’s got to be stressful and I can understand why you would want to Skype your therapist, but look, you’d be paying $150 an hour to a jackass who studied psychology so they could understand themselves. They’ll suggest that you are in denial which is symptomatic of a small penis hang-up.

DoryphorosLet’s analyze that assessment. Art during the Greek Classical Period (5th to 4th century B.C.) was marked by the accuracy with which artists and sculptures represented the human and deity forms. Take for example the statue of Doryphoros which is one of the best known Greek sculptures of classical antiquity. It depicts a solidly built, muscular, standing warrior, originally bearing a spear (that’s the reason he’s holding his left hand like that) balanced on his left shoulder. Now you can easily see that Doryphoros was in shape but he sure as hell wasn’t packing some meat! Zoom in you can see it wasn’t broken off. So, do you think he gives a shit? Look guys,  rather than Skyping your therapist why not have a shoot the shit.

A shoot the shit is a social interaction, that can be conducted over Zoom or Skype, during which any topic can be discussed, participants don’t need to know anything about the subject discussed and are free to make unsupported statements, use uncensored profanity, insult anyone the wish or change the subject at will. So let’s kick one off.

Like all of you out there, staying at home all day gets a little old, there’s only so much  reading, cleaning and t.v. watching you can do so I decided to master James Brown’s dance moves.

As you know, the medical and pharmaceutical industry is responding to the needs of the country and its citizens. Sadly, you have media impostors, who like sounding like epidemiologists, discussing the methodology and efficacy of the treatments being developed. Tune that noise out.

The medical profession is definitely on to something with the telemedicine concept.

I’m not sure how effective a proctological exam would be via telemedicine but you can bet your bottom dollar that after the coronavirus pandemic is in the history books telemedicine will be around. The jury is still out on its effectiveness and safety.

Alright, stay healthy and stay indoors, we’re almost there. It’s tough but don’t let it damage your life, keep all sweat pumps in low speed. Have a family shoot the shit, it’ll be fun for you and your kids.

The new subsonic 300BLK ammunition features a yellow-tipped, 205gr lead-core bullet designed for explosive expansion and exceptional accuracy.  This load uses the same high-quality, single-base extruded powders as SIG Match Grade rounds, ensuring consistent muzzle velocity and insensitivity to temperature change.

Optimized for the AR-15 platform, the new subsonic 300BLK Tipped Hunting ammunition is engineered to allow hunters to load 30 rounds in a 30-round magazine and have the cartridges feed properly.  This was achieved by SIG SAUER engineers after extensive research and development resulting in a stepped-down bullet design with a shouldered ogive that keeps the bullet from hitting the ridges of the magazine which would cause the rounds to shift and eventually fail to feed.

This load is ideal for use with a suppressor, which greatly reduces sound signature and muzzle flash, making it a favorite among hunters.  Muzzle velocity is 1000 fps and muzzle energy is 455 ft-lbs from a 16-inch barrel.  This round is recommended for use in barrels 9-inches or longer.

You’ll find proponents of hydroxychloroquine, hydroxychloroquine with an antibiotic back, convalescent plasma treatments, etc. None of these should be interpreted as cures or reasons to avoid mitigation, i.e. social distancing, which is proven to be 100 % effective with no side effects. When you are assessing what you are being told by the media remember the following statement.

In science, there’s a concept called parsimony  which is the idea that the simplest explanation that fits the evidence is the one that’s probably correct. And, what does the evidence show? That social distancing is effective at reducing the spread of infections. Take it to the bank!

NSSF’S Project ChildSafe Launches New Tools for First-Time Gun Owners

NEWTOWN, Conn. — The National Shooting Sports Foundation®(NSSF®) today unveiled a new infographic for first-time gun owners in response to the surge in firearms sales across the U.S. Additionally, through its Project ChildSafe® program, NSSF has launched a newFirearm Storage and Safety Assessment Quiz, which allows gun owners to put their firearm safety knowledge to the test and learn if and how their safety habits might be improved.

“Our industry is seeing record-breaking sales in the midst of the COVID -19 pandemic, with a large percentage of these consumers being first-time gun buyers,” said Joe Bartozzi, NSSF’s President and CEO. “We want to be sure these new gun owners have as much information as possible about how to handle, use and store firearms safely and responsibly.”

The infographic covers a spectrum of information and provides helpful links on topics such as questions to ask before buying a gun, safe storage at home and where to find online training videos. The new quiz walks gun owners through a number of questions related to safe handling and storage of firearms, linking to resources and information to improve or enhance firearm safety practices. These new tools complement the safety training and education offered at retail stores, as well as the library of safety resources available through the Project ChildSafe program. These include a “Road To Responsible Firearm Ownership” tool, “Many Paths to Firearm Safety” video series and a Safe Storage Options infographic.

All of these materials and more will be concentrated into a new “Resources for New Gun Owners” section at ProjectChildSafe.org.

NSSF is also encouraging all parents, even if they are not gun owners, to discuss firearm safety with their families. The Project ChildSafe website has videos on how to talk to kids about gun safety, as well as McGruff the Crime Dog gun safety videos for school-aged children, among a suite of tools for parents and educators. Additionally, NSSF is working to help the firearm-owning community better understand the topics of suicide and prevention with its Firearms and Suicide Prevention brochure.

NDIA, PSC seek more time for contractors’ Section 889 compliance

image008ARLINGTON, VA – Leaders of the National Defense Industrial Association and the Professional Services Council want Congress to move by six months the deadline to implement part of the 2019 National Defense Authorization Act that prohibits the government from doing business with companies having Huawei, ZTE or affiliated entities’ products in their supply chains, the Arlington, VA-based groups announce April 2.
At a time when the focus should be on recovering from fallout of the COVID-19 crisis, this six-month extension — from Aug. 13, 2020, to February 2021 — is justified, the March 31 letter to congressional leaders said. Hawk Carlisle, NDIA’s president and CEO, and David Berteau, PSC’s president and CEO, sent the letter on behalf of “thousands of businesses of all sizes and sectors providing essential products and services supporting America’s warfighters” and who are committed to national defense during the Coronavirus response.
NDIA and PSC seek the change for two reasons: to give the government time to issue a draft implementation rule, and to give industry and the public time to assess impacts and comment on the implementation plan for such a complex undertaking.
“Section 889 Part B has broad legislative language,” Carlisle said. “There is no draft rule to understand critical definitions and compliance requirements. Add to this a need to focus on the impact of COVID-19 crisis, and we feel postponement is needed to implement this policy correctly.”
Without more time, this broad language in Part B “will impose significant financial and operational costs on medium- and small-sized firms at a moment of substantial uncertainty and hardship,” the letter states. These companies know they need to secure their supply chains “against determined and sophisticated adversaries, and they stand ready to do what it takes to deliver uncompromised goods and services,” the letter states.

What Pandemic?

big-brother-germany-01How’s everybody doing out there? It’s week three of social distancing with four more to go. Hope everyone is following the CDC guidelines and dismissing the media? You undoubtedly have cabin fever but the outcome is worth the sacrifice so hold the line. But look, rather than spending $150 per hour plus minutes of usage, if you don’t have an unlimited calling plan, on a jackass who studied psychology so they could understand themselves and who more than likely just got off Skype with their therapist, have a shoot the shit.

A shoot the shit is a social interaction where any topic can be discussed, participants don’t need to know anything about the subject, they’re free to make unsupported statements, use uncensored profanity, insult anyone they wish or change the subject. Now look, shoot the shits are always best when you have a hot tub party but doing so will make you social distancing noncompliant, so my suggestion is for you to use Skype or some other video conference tool.

So, let’s shoot the shit.

You’ve all heard the face mask argument, it seems to be getting louder but as Sister Mary Joseph use to tells us, “empty barrels make the most noise.” The media blowhards are alleging that the CDC is lying about the effectiveness of face masks because they want to keep them for the medical profession? If anything flags you as a moron is a statement of that nature. When the doctors and nurses all perish who the hell is going to treat your ass should you be infected-  Nobody! Yes, there is a shortage of  personal protection equipment so let’s keep the frontlines supplied.

You wearing a mask is equivalent to using a condom with its reservoir cut off. The COVID-19 virus is  propagated via atomized particles, infected surfaces and hands. Simply walking down the street and into a contaminated air pocket, due to a cough or sneeze from an infected individual, will likely infect you via your eyes and contaminate your exposed skin. To put it bluntly, wearing a face mask is like getting a hand job, it makes you feel good but it’s not the real thing. What a mask does is distract you from doing what is 100% effective and that is social distancing. Strict observance of social distancing is working in Italy and France. Both of those countries are seeing increasing infections at a decreasing rate and that means they’re getting over the apex.

They have been successful because local officials have taken a hard line. These Italian mayors are angry and communicating that anger to their communities.

Contrast them with NYC Mayor Bill de Blassio who prognosticates disaster; stopping short of saying stick your head between your legs and kiss your ass goodbye. What you would be hearing if Rudy Giuliani were NYC Mayor would something along the lines: “  Pessimi bastardi, se vedo qualcuno di voi idioti per strada, vi inculerò nel culo e dormirete con i pesci”.

Please comply with CDC guidelines, be safe, stay healthy, do some dry firing and this too will pass.
