Shoot Like A Girl Prepares to Resume Operations in Accordance with President Trump’s “Opening Up America Again” Guidelines
Athens, AL – May 5, 2020 – As the country moves towards opening back up, Shoot Like A Girl is proactively preparing to resume their Coast to Coast Tour on June 6-7 at Cabela’s in Missoula, Montana. Shoot Like A Girl has respectfully abided by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines to practice social distancing, to shelter and/or stay at home and limit non-essential travel during this historic COVID-19 Pandemic. The entire team is ready to resume travel, and empower women to participate in shooting sports with confidence.

ARLINGTON, VA – The National Defense Industrial Association is among members of the Acquisition Reform Working Group voicing concern to the Senate and House Armed Services committees over several legislative proposals that the groups say could harm the defense industrial base, the Arlington, VA-based trade organization announces today.
The May 6 letter<https://content.ndia.org/-/media/sites/Press%20Releases/Documents/ARWG%20Letter%20Regarding%20DoD%20LEGPROPs.ashx?la> to Congress from NDIA and others outlined issues with Defense Department proposals that these groups say would:
* Reverse reforms made in previous National Defense Authorization Acts
* Authorize release of data that could weaken trade-secret protections
* Require contractors to provide uncertified cost information, adding a layer of bureaucracy
* Require contracting officers to determine a commercial equivalent for every procurement
NDIA previously had voiced opposition to the Defense Department’s request to classify the Future Years Defense Plan, which outlines its spending goals for future years.

NAUMD Announce New Distributor Promotion for the Uniform, Public Safety, and Image Apparel Industry
Annual distributor member fee for 2020 will extend through December 2021 for new distributor members of the North American Association of Uniform Manufacturers and Distributors (NAUMD).
Omaha, Neb. (May 2020) – The North American Association of Uniform Manufacturers and Distributors (NAUMD) and its Public Safety Suppliers & Retailers (PSSR) division announce a membership drive for new distributors in the uniform, public safety equipment, and image apparel industry. The annual dues for new distributors will extend through December 2021, thus providing them with 19 months of membership instead of the traditional twelve.

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) today announced the eight companies that will assist the Federal government in establishing requirements for future suppliers of Remote Identification (Remote ID). Remote ID will enable Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS), commonly called drones, to provide identification and location information while operating in the nation’s airspace.
The FAA selected the following companies to develop technology requirements for future Remote ID UAS Service Suppliers (USS): Airbus, AirMap, Amazon, Intel, One Sky, Skyward, T-Mobile, and Wing. These companies were selected through a Request for Information process in December 2018.
“The FAA will be able to advance the safe integration of drones into our nation’s airspace from these technology companies’ knowledge and expertise on remote identification,” said U.S. Transportation Secretary Elaine L. Chao.
This initial group will support the FAA in developing technology requirements for other companies to develop applications needed for Remote ID. The applications will provide drone identification and location information to safety and security authorities while in flight.
The technology is being developed simultaneously with the proposed Remote ID rule. Application requirements will be announced when the final rule is published. The FAA will then begin accepting applications for entities to become Remote ID suppliers. The FAA will provide updates when other entities can apply to become qualified Remote ID USS on FAA.gov.
Drones are a fast-growing segment of the transportation sector with nearly 1.5 million drones and 160,000 remote pilots now registered with the FAA. The agency’s ability to develop Remote ID technology simultaneously with the rule enables the FAA to continue to build on a UAS Traffic Management (UTM) system that has demonstrated global leadership through the small UAS rule and the implementation of the Low Altitude Authorization and Notification Capability (LAANC), which automates the application and approval process for most UAS operators to obtain airspace authorizations.
Nammo is today confirming that it has completed its acquisition of Chemring Ordnance Inc. in Perry, Florida – now Nammo Perry Inc. The announcement comes as Nammo releases its Annual Report for 2019, in which the company posts its second consecutive year of record-high revenue and order books, the latter growing nearly 30% from 2018.
“Nammo Perry Inc. is joining the group during a time of major change and development for the company. First of all, we are doing and delivering more than ever, and taking an even greater role in supporting the security of supply for our core markets. Secondly, the arrival of Perry means we now have more employees in the US than anywhere else, which in itself represents a major milestone for Nammo,” said President & CEO of the Nammo Group, Mr. Morten Brandtzæg.

Continuing Decades of Growth
This milestone follows more than a decade of rapid growth for Nammo in the US. Contributing to Security of Supply
Another trend seen in 2019, and which has continued during Q1 of 2020, is an increased focus on readiness and security of supply – the ability to secure the availability of critical technologies, components and products at all times. A key example of this trend is the strategic partnership Nammo has developed with the Norwegian Armed Forces, and with whom it signed a four-year ammunition contract in June 2019 worth more than NOK 1.7 billion, the largest single contract in the company’s history.
“Security of supply was one of the main reasons why Nammo was founded more than 20 years ago, so for us this has always been in our DNA. But if there is anything the COVID-19 pandemic has taught us, it is just how vulnerable our societies are, how quickly things can change, and how important it is for governments and industry to work together to address these challenges. This is why we will continue our efforts to develop this kind of closer partnerships with our customers,” said Brandtzæg.

Improving Nammo
Going forward, Nammo will continue its efforts to improve both its profitability and its industrial capabilities, both in Europe and in the United States.
“We have been working aggressively for several years now to improve our operations and our cost base, and in the process we have identified and absorbed several one-off costs that will help improve future profitability. During 2019 we also had several other factors contributing to the unprecedented level of one-offs, but all in all I still believe we are much better placed at the start of 2020 than we were 12 months earlier,” said Brandtzæg.
He sees improved profitability as critical to the future success of the company.
“Nammo’s growth has always been completely self-funded. We have never taken outside money to buy our way ahead. We have some major investments underway, particularly in the United States, and we need to support these by delivering sustainable and solid profit levels,” said Brandtzæg.

Building on Strong Multinational Partnerships
Another major 2019 milestone was the announcement of a new, consolidated US manufacturing arm, Nammo Defense Systems Inc. With the United States now taking the lead in terms of both revenues and employees, Brandtzæg believes that Nammo is better positioned than ever to support new forms of international and transatlantic defense partnerships.
“We have always been a multinational company, and every successful product we have had has been a result of cooperation between governments, engineers and manufacturers in several countries. While national security of supply is becoming more important, and rightfully so, we should not let that distract ourselves from the fact that we are stronger together than apart. The latest example here is the progress we have made in recent years at developing ramjet propulsion for both artillery and missiles, something that would not have been possible without the contributions from both sides of the Atlantic. We believe this kind of cooperation is the best way forward both for Nammo, our customers and for their partners and allies,” said Brandtzæg.
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – May 6, 2020 – In April 2019, Vernon Texas Police Corporal T.J. Session was shot while making contact with a suspected felon. The incident took place in the middle of the day with a body cam, dash cam and Viridian’s FACT Duty™ Weapon-Mounted Camera (WMC™) all present. Session was injured in the incident but was also able to shoot the perpetrator. Session has recovered and is back on duty. In the trial almost a year later, the gun camera provided crucial evidence that led the jury to sentence the defendant to 40 years in prison. After the trial, Viridian created a time-synched video showing the incident unfold from the body camera and gun camera simultaneously.
The WMC provided the critical evidence in the case by showing the defendant pointing a sawed-off shotgun at Vernon Police Corporal T.J. Session during an exchange of gunfire in which both Corporal Session and the defendant were shot and wounded. This was the first time an officer-involved shooting was captured by a gun camera. Body camera and dash camera video was also available from the incident, but the Viridian FACT Duty provided the only unfettered evidence of the defendant reaching for a weapon and subsequently shooting the officer.
“We invented the FACT Duty to provide a totally new perspective in Officer-Involved Shootings and use of force incidents,” said Viridian President and CEO Brian Hedeen. “While we never wish any officer to encounter the danger and evil Corporal Session did in April of 2019, the evidence captured in the incident was invaluable.
“Our Gun Camera was able to deliver the clear view from Session’s service weapon that led to the conviction of the criminal—and also showed the world what happened and why Session was forced to shoot. A time-synched video of the incident from the point of view of the gun camera and body camera was put together. This footage not only shows why we feel every officer should have a Weapon-Mounted Camera—but can be used for valuable training in the future. And finally, it shows why we advocate the use of gun cams either with our without body cameras or other evidence-gathering devices.”

(May 5, 2020) — Twenty million dollars raised to date by good people who enjoy the shooting sports and have a heart for children and their families—it is a news story that hasn’t been trumpeted loud enough. But that describes how the first Kids & Clays® shooting sports event to benefit families in need launched in 1999 with the support of Winchester® Ammunition and has grown to be a major fundraiser for Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) across the country.
“Our long-standing commitment—20 years—as the major ammunition supporter to Kids & Clays is extremely important,” said Matt Campbell, vice president of sales and marketing for Winchester Ammunition. “We are proud that our brand of more than 150 years is associated with organizations like Kids & Clays and that we can help further their mission.”
In 1999, Glenn and Kathy Lubeznik, McDonald’s owner/operators in northwest Indiana, chaired the first annual Sporting Clays Tournament benefitting the Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Chicagoland. With the support of Winchester Ammunition, McDonald’s owners/operators and McDonald’s suppliers, the event hosted 137 participants and generated more than $15,000 for RMHC.
The next year, companies and organizations such as Browning, the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), and the National Sporting Clays Association (NSCA) followed Winchester’s lead and agreed to support the event as sponsors. More than 220 participants shot in the Chicago tournament, and the Chicago Ronald McDonald House was again the beneficiary, to the tune of over $58,000.
The rapid success of the Chicago area tournament inspired Mr. Lubeznik to share his knowledge of this fundraiser with Ronald McDonald Houses across the country. Because of the potential for growth of this program, Mr. Lubeznik formed what is known today as the Kids & Clays Foundation. The Foundation’s goal was to promote shooting tournaments as a unique type of fundraising event for Ronald McDonald Houses across the nation.
Each year, Winchester donates over 1,000 cases of its famous shotshell target ammunition and merchandise to support over 25 Kids & Clays events. The local Ronald McDonald House Charities keep 100% of the net proceeds from each event. What started as tens of thousands of dollars annually in fundraising has grown exponentially with 2019 setting a record high of nearly $1.9 million raised, all to help critically ill children from coast to coast.

Ordered for the IDF (Israel Defense Forces) ground forces, FireFly was designed for fighting within the urban arena where situational awareness is limited, the enemy is behind cover, and precision is critical.
FireFly is rapidly deployed within seconds. It is portable, durable and includes a rugged airframe to withstand the harsh environment of urban combat. Its single-user operation is designed for the dismounted soldier – light, small, and agile.

A clean rifle bore shoots better. Helix 6 Precision carbon fiber barrels use a 416R stainless steel core. Continue to clean the bore down to bare metal for optimum performance. Now it’s ready to shoot. Remember the first few rounds through a clean, cold bore may have a different point of impact.
