The most versatile optic solution you will find, Nighthawk Custom’s Interchangeable Optic System is the best optic system on the market. The IOS utilizes removeable plates that allow the shooter to switch from standard iron sights to a red dot in less than 30 seconds, while holding zero. Users can switch plates by, first, untightening a screw on top of their iron sights plate, releasing the retaining pin. The retaining pin can then be pushed out of the side of the plate, allowing the plate to easily slide off the back of the firearm. Then, slide on the plate with your red dot optic, insert the retaining pin and tighten the screw. Just like that, you’ve switched from iron sights to a red dot. And the best part is, with our dovetail cut- each plate will always retain zero. There is never a need to re-sight in a pistol after changing plates. The optic system is also cut low in the slide so that you run regular height front sights, instead of tall suppressor sights like most systems on the market.

The background is the German Ministry of Defence’s plan to procure new airborne platforms to replace the vehicles of the airborne troops, some of which are more than 20 years old.

HGH announces new contract for military airbase surveillance at DSEI, London

Under the spotlight, new functionalities of the CYCLOPE video analysis software integrated in HGH’s SPYNEL infrared panoramic surveillance cameras. A European MOD recently signed a contract with HGH to equip a military base with a SPYNEL-S 6000 IR Panoramic sensor for 24/7 surveillance of the perimeter. SPYNEL long range surveillance solutions are fully passive technologies, meeting the requirements of military air bases to avoid radar disturbances. Other advantages that led the MOD to the signing of this contract are the possibility to provide, with one single camera, a long-distance panoramic surveillance where many PTZ cameras would have been installed. Perimeter security of the entire site is ensured both inside and outside the security fences. Multiple threats are detected, tracked and classified in real-time, from intruders to drones or small animals, allowing for a very low false alarm rate while keeping a high reactivity. Finally, the customer wanted a new security sensor that could be fully integrated with their control system and VMS software, which is possible with SPYNEL’S CYCLOPE software.

The Adaptive Defensive Shooting Summit (ADSS) is an accessible shooting event for people with disabilities of all skill levels and knowledge of firearms. Ann Arbor, Michigan (September 15, 2021) – Target detection, identification and precise engagement are essential in fast-moving scenarios where operators transition from close to mid-range targets. EOTECH Magnifiers enhance any EOTECH Holographic Weapon Sight (HWS) by enlarging the target’s image when needed. EOTECH’s G43 and G45 magnifiers pair perfectly with any EOTECH HWS, transforming them into flexible CQC to medium-range weapon sight systems.

The magnifiers include a Switch-to-Side magnifier mount with a locking, adjustable, quick-detach lever. When mounted, the magnifier snaps into place behind the HWS when needed and out of the way when not required. Its ambidextrous design switches either to the right or left to accommodate the shooter’s preference. Both magnifiers feature tool-free vertical and horizontal adjustments for simple reticle centering. An adjustable diopter quickly focuses the magnifier to suit the user’s eyes.

“The biggest advantage the magnifiers offer with a Holographic Weapon Sight is that the dot size doesn’t change when viewed with magnification” said Mark Miller, Product Manager for EOTECH. “The target enlarges, but the dot remains 1MOA providing greater accuracy. This is different from red dots because their dots will grow in size at the same rate as the target, so no additional precision is gained.”

Both the G43 and G45 magnifiers have similar specifications; the biggest difference is their magnification. The G43 is a 3X magnifier, while the G45 is a 5X. The G45’s additional 2X magnification allows precise aiming at greater distances. The G43, at 3X, offers a slightly wider field-of-view than the G45 for better situational awareness at mid-range distances. Choosing the best magnifier comes down to the shooter’s preference.

ANOKA, Minnesota – September 15, 2021 – Team Federal Precision Rifle Series shooter Buck Holly finished strong in the 3^rd Annual Federal Gold Medal PRS Match. The event was held at Alabama Precision in Carbon Hill, Alabama, September 11-12. With 140 shooters in attendance, Holly took home the top trophy in the Gas Gun category and placed eleventh overall during this two-day PRS Pro Series Qualifier match.

“Buck is a hardcore competitor. He has the experience and grit to shoot well in spite of adverse conditions,” said Federal Shooting Sports Promotions Manager Jason Spradling. “It was a lot of fun to watch his performance and I’m proud that Federal Gold Medal ammunition was part of the equation.”

The 32nd Annual NDIA SO/LIC Symposium planning team continues to monitor the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) situation as the health of our event participants, members, and partners remains our top priority. We are committed to following the guidelines and precautions as outlined by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). Attendees can expect to see the following at NDIA events:

PROOF OF VACCINATION: All attendees will be required to provide proof of vaccination or proof of negative COVID-19 test within three (3) days of arrival. Details for securely providing documentation will be provided shortly on the event website.

Grayson jumped right into the podcast summarizing Noell’s background as a Navy SEAL, leading into his founding of BLACKHAWK!, a highly reputable brand that dominated the tactical gear market for over a decade, and introducing Noell’s new endeavor, SENTRY Tactical™.

Grayson asked Noell to share why after a successful run with BLACKHAWK! he did not just sit on the beach and enjoy the fruits of his labor. This, he explains, is a facet of the solution they are working on for their military customers, as is micro-adjusting capabilities. By allowing individuals to micro-adjust their gear, operators, police, and first responders can maneuver quickly and confidently and stay focused on their job instead of their gear.

In summing up the conversation, Noell reflected on his competitive sailing in his youth, his Navy SEAL service, and years as an entrepreneur, by letting listeners know that the thing that gets him up in the morning is what he and his SENTRY team are doing to support and enhance mission effectiveness for special forces, military, and law enforcement. (CCDL) as they take the state of Connecticut to federal court for violating the second amendment rights of its citizens.

“Responsible Americans in Connecticut are suffering because of the state’s mismanagement of fingerprinting for firearms purchases during COVID,” said P.J. Hermosa, CEO of U.S. LawShield. “And because so many citizens face lengthy delays in applying for their permits, their right to bear arms are at significant risk,” he said.

According to Holly Sullivan, President of the CCDL, “Thankfully, U.S. LawShield is lending financial support to our battle with the State of Connecticut. Together we recognize the hardships the state has burdened people with are untenable and unconstitutional.” The CCDL, with financial support from U.S. LawShield, has filed emergency motions and a civil lawsuit in federal court to address these issues.

FAULTY STATE FINGERPRINTING SYSTEM

When Connecticut stopped fingerprinting altogether during the pandemic, the CCDL filed a lawsuit, and a judge required the process be reinstated right away. However, Connecticut has circumvented the fingerprinting issue by introducing a new software system that has proven difficult to use. “Our police departments and law enforcement agencies are already strapped for personnel and funding, so adding fingerprinting training on a faulty and difficult-to-use system is not practical,” Sullivan said.

DELAY OF LAWFUL PERMIT APPLICATIONS

After learning that Bridgeport, Hartford, New Haven, and Waterbury were delaying the applications of law-abiding citizens’ municipal firearms permits, the CCDL filed a federal civil rights action in the U.S. District Court against the police chiefs of those cities. “On behalf of members residing in the largest cities in Connecticut, we are bringing legal action to stop the blatant and ongoing violations of their right to keep and bear arms,” said Sullivan.

“Applications are the first step in obtaining a state-issued pistol permit,” Sullivan noted. “So, in addition to violating citizen’s rights to access the permitting process, these cities are notorious for violating their resident’s constitutional rights by excessively delaying the application process. The CCDL is thankful to U.S. LawShield in supporting us as we stand up for the residents of these cities, many of whom are minorities fighting for their right to keep and bear arms for personal protection,” Sullivan added.

“Protecting our constitutional right to bear arms is a shared mission of the CCDL and U.S. LawShield, and we are steadfast in our support of these court battles to uphold the second amendment and freedoms of Connecticut citizens,” concluded Hermosa.

Earlier this year, in June 2021, the British Ministry of Defense employed Rafael’s DRONE DOME counter-UAV system to protect world leaders during the G7 Summit in Cornwall, England from unmanned aerial threats.

Three years ago, Britain’s Defense Ministry purchased several DRONE DOME systems which it has successfully employed in a multitude of operational scenarios, including for protecting both the physical site and participants of this year’s G7 summit.

Rafael’s DRONE DOME is an innovative end-to-end, combat-proven counter-Unmanned Aerial System (C-UAS), providing all-weather, 360-degree rapid defense against hostile drones. Fully operational and globally deployed, DRONE DOME offers a modular, robust infrastructure comprised of electronic jammers and sensors and unique artificial intelligence algorithms to effectively secure threatened air space.

DRONE DOME’s advanced technology allows it to effectively address drone and UAV threats through detection, identification, and neutralization. When DRONE DOME identifies a threat, it allocates the target to the laser, locks onto the target, tracks it, and carries out either a soft or hard-kill with its unique, integrated laser technology. This laser system operates reliably in any weather condition, and results in minimal environmental damage.

Additionally, DRONE DOME’s artificial intelligence capabilities, along with the advanced laser and sensor systems, provide a more precise picture of the incoming threat. This additional information allows the system both to detect and identify specific threat elements more accurately and engage and neutralize the target faster and more efficiently.

The system’s flexibility across military and civil applications offers advanced protection for maneuvering forces, sensitive facilities, border protection, as well as increasingly vulnerable civilian targets like airports and other public facilities.

Germany’s Lower Saxony Police Department Converts to Blackhawk Holsters for Duty Use

The Niedersachsen Police, which is comprised of 8,000 sworn officers, becomes the second largest European contract for Blackhawk T-Series L3D holsters following the recent French Army win. Safely integrating drones into the National Airspace System is a key priority for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and our third-annual Drone Safety Awareness Week helps ensure drone operators understand that they are pilots who must fly safely.

As part of the agency’s education efforts, FAA Administrator Steve Dickson will participate in an Instagram Live event with Keith Rosentreter, owner of Alien Drones YouTube Channel, Eno Umoh, Co-Founder Global Air Drone Academy, and Dawn Zoldi, president of UAS Colorado. They will discuss The Recreational UAS Safety Test (TRUST), how to properly register and mark your drone, the importance of joining a community of drone operators, and how drones are used in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) to inspire young people. The event will take place on Wednesday from 1:00-1:30 p.m. EDT.

The week also will feature drone pilots, recreational flyers, and experts discussing their commitment to safety, and sharing tips and information. Several organizations and FAA Safety Team (FAAST) volunteers are hosting virtual events to engage and educate the public about drone safety. Its SWaP (Size, Weight and Power) design enhances the autonomy and performance of battery powered devices.
Galatea MW, which optimizes the balance between performance and miniaturization, is well suited for applications where payload or mobility is critical. These include Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGVs) and tactical infantry, such as Thermal Weapon Sights or Handheld Thermal Imaging (HHTI) equipment.

Market applications
Galatea MW aims at providing solutions for any device where miniaturization, battery life and weight matter in defense and surveillance applications.
One of the most critical areas is equipment for soldiers. As military tactical HHTI are becoming increasingly central to achieving strategic objectives in field operations, they need to be reliable and optimized for power management. Equipment that is easily portable is key to enhancing soldier mobility.

Revision Awarded Contract by Swedish Armed Forces to Deliver Eye Protection Systems

ESSEX JUNCTION, VERMONT (September 10, 2021) – Revision Military has been awarded a contract with the Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) of Sweden for Military Protective Eyewear Systems (MPES) for a total validity period of seven (7) years. The contract was signed in June 2020 and initial product deliveries started to arrive in Sweden in August 2021. The MPES includes rigorous specifications and customization requirements to suit the needs of the Swedish Armed Forces – including ballistic eyewear, low profile goggles, full coverage goggles, universal prescription carrier and ballistic laser protective lenses to protect against a variety of laser hazards. Revision partnered with CRD Protection, a privately held Swedish company specializing in protective products, to pursue and secure a contract award with the FMV and assist with contract execution.
