The Western Regional is the fourth stop on the 2025 NSCA Championship Tour, Powered by Winchester and will draw elite sporting clays competitors from across the country. Team Winchester and Team White Flyer are coming off several championship victories and are hungry for more.

The Bushmaster® Bravo Zulu™ Pistol is inspired by the design, quality and build profile of our original Bravo Zulu™ Line, The Bushmaster® Bravo Zulu™ Pistol boasts several impressive features, including a free float rail, Bushmaster® DM2S® 2-stage trigger, Magpul® furniture, and a Snake Charmer®II muzzle brake that reduces felt recoil.
The Bushmaster® Bravo Zulu™ Pistol is chambered in 5.56 NATO/.223 REM or .300 Blackout, with a 11.5″ barrel made from 4150 CMV material and finished with a salt bath nitride coating. Features
QMAG-53
The QMAG-53 offers 80% increased magazine capacity, with a similar form factor to standard magazines but shorter. Warfighters can now to carry 210 round loadouts in 4 magazines instead of 7, reduce reloads by 50%, reduce loadout weight by 8%, and carry their QMAG’s in any standard double mag pouch. The QMAG is more reliable because of its single follower design and reduced wall friction, both designed to reliably fire high volumes of full auto fire with high pressure dirty silencers. The QMAG’s internal length is also longer to guarantee reliable feeding of long match grade ammunition used by competitors. The QMAG is highly durable, passing all military drop tests, the mags can be fully loaded for years without fatiguing the springs and it is easy to load the top rounds unlike drum mags.
Every rifle also comes with a Magwell adapter reliably use standard 30 round magazines.
Handguard
Designed with suppressor builds in mind, the 13.7-inch and 9.7″ MLOK compatible handguard accommodates a variety of quick-attach suppressor mounts. Chamfered edges and a Type III Hardcoat anodized finish provide a smooth, ergonomic feel while maintaining durability. The handguard is crafted from lightweight yet durable 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum, striking the perfect balance between strength and weight reduction. The Handguard attaches to the receiver using a two-piece wedge block mechanism, ensuring a rock-solid attachment with even pressure around the barrel nut.
Reliability
Desert Tech’s Quattro-15 is a direct impingement rifle that was engineered and crafted with premium components to deliver unrivaled performance in any condition. The full auto rated dual ejector Bolt Carrier Group enhances reliability and maintains consistent ejection patterns. All BCGs are Chrome lined with a phosphate coating to provide an added layer of protection. The Quattro-15 Rifle uses all Mil-Spec parts to ensure flawless operation under the most demanding circumstances.
Match Barrel
The Quattro-15 features a 16-inch mid-gas stainless steel barrel with a 223 Wylde chamber, offering compatibility with both .223 Remington and 5.56 NATO rounds. Its nitride finish enhances durability and corrosion resistance, while the mid-length gas system reduces recoil for faster follow-up shots. This barrel is built to meet the needs of professionals and serious marksmen.
Mil-Spec Trigger
Equipped with a replaceable mil-spec trigger, the Quattro-15 provides a crisp, clean break with minimal overtravel. This ensures exceptional accuracy and control, whether you’re engaging targets in competition or in the field. The trigger’s nickel Teflon treatment further enhances smoothness and durability, giving you confidence in every shot.
Controls
The Quattro-15 Lite features the same controls and features of the original Quattro-15 Rifle, minus the enhanced trigger, carrier, and charging handle—instead using mil-spec parts for your customization considerations. NSSF’s ‘Gun Storage Check Week’ is Sept. 1-7 During National Suicide Prevention Month

WASHINGTON, D.C.—NSSF®, The Firearm Industry Trade Association, recognizes the importance of National Suicide Prevention Month by running its Gun Storage Check Week® campaign September 1-7. Gun Storage Check Week reminds firearm owners to review their storage practices to “Make Sure It’s Secure®.”
“In partnership with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) and the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), NSSF works diligently to provide the firearm-owning community with education about preventing suicide,” said Joe Bartozzi, NSSF’s President and CEO. “One of the most effective methods for preventing suicide is deterring access to firearms and other means during a time of crisis. That’s why during Gun Storage Check Week we’re asking gun owners and their families to do their part to help prevent suicide, as well as accidents and thefts, by securely storing firearms when not in use.”
During Gun Storage Check Week, visitors to GunStorageCheck.org can enter to win a full-size Bandit 19 gun safe donated by Winchester Safes. Additional entries to win can be earned by watching a short video on suicide prevention. Also on the website is a new video from Winchester featuring TV show host Melissa Bachman on how to maintain an orderly gun safe.
Noting that 58 percent of firearm fatalities are suicide deaths and 74 percent of veteran suicides involve a firearm, Bartozzi said, “Gun owners and their families have it in their power to save lives. Securely storing firearms creates ‘time and distance’ between a person with suicidal thoughts and a method of self-harm. This pause allows time for immediate thoughts of suicide to pass and for connecting a person to care.” Temporary offsite storage is also an option but remember to follow all applicable firearm transfer laws.
“It’s important to know that suicide is preventable,” added Bartozzi. “All of us can become more open to talking about mental health challenges and life struggles that may increase the risk of suicide, and we can discuss storage options to prevent access when someone is going through a difficult time. Supporting someone who is struggling and being respectful of the right to own firearms can go together.”
On GunStorageCheck.org, NSSF provides the NSSF-AFSP brochure on suicide prevention that discusses warning signs and how to have a “brave conversation” with someone you’re worried about. NSSF also has added resources for veterans, including links to the VA’s “Don’t wait. Reach out” program. The NSSF-AFSP suicide prevention toolkit is available to firearm retailers and shooting ranges.
NSSF encourages everyone to remember the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline: 988 is the number to call/text/chat if you or someone you know is struggling.

Gun Storage Check Week’s safety resources highlight many options to store firearms securely so that guns are off limits to unauthorized persons. Secure gun storage devices include:

cable locks—often available free of charge, including through NSSF’s Project ChildSafe® program

lock boxes—storage solutions for guns kept for home security and in vehicles

lockable gun cases—for security and portability

full-size gun cabinets and safes—for owners with multiple firearms to protect, including against fire and theft.

“Periodically, gun owners should review their firearm storage practices because people’s lives change—a child grows older and becomes more curious, a teenager or adult happens to be going through a rough patch in life,” said Bartozzi. “These and other situations might require a change in storage habits or devices.
“Make Gun Storage Check Week the time you check on safety in your home by making sure firearms are secured from unwanted access,” added Bartozzi.

Newington, NH (August 27, 2025). SIG SAUER applauds the USAF and the Global Strike Command in their diligence and expediency in the safety inspection related to the investigation into the tragic incident at F.E. Warren Air Force Base.
We remain in direct contact with the Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC) leadership during this process and will continue to work with them as they return the M18 to service and provide Airmen with safe, reliable, and effective weapon systems.
As affirmed by the AFGSC, the M18 was specifically designed and rigorously tested to meet stringent requirements unique to the military. The AFGSC command-wide inspection showed that no weapon discharges were attributed to a malfunction and the M18 can safely and reliably accomplish their missions across the globe.
We value this further confirmation of the safety, reliability, and durability of the P320-based M18 and look forward to continuing our partnership with the USAF. The match, held over three days, featured 421 competitors across multiple divisions, with Vlieger completing 24 stages, totaling 350.43 seconds, and earning 1,933.816 match points—94% of the available points.
“The 2025 US IPSC National Championships had 24 technically demanding stages over 3 days, and the only limitation on my performance was between my ears,” said Vlieger. “Over 400 rounds, 45,000 steps, and more miniature steel targets than I thought possible, all without an issue or complaint from my gear. I’ve used Shell Shock Technologies’ NAS3 cases for my major match ammo since 2017 to cut down on the unexpected, and that decision bore fruit once again. IPSC competition places large emphasis on small targets, timing, and technical execution, where a malfunction can cost way more than expected. The IPSC World Shoot is next in South Africa, and I intend to stay true to what works.”
Vlieger, ranked 28th out of 2,245 shooters worldwide and 9th out of 91 in the USA, will represent the United States at the 2025 IPSC Handgun World Shoot, taking place September 11 – 28, 2025, in Matlosana, South Africa.

If you’re like me, you wish away the summer, even cursing it for interrupting your hunt season and making you hang up your bird vest. The mid-Atlantic can be a bit brutal, though, especially in September when the season comes back. It also sees its fair share of hurricanes and flat-out ugly thunderstorms. The dove migration is highly susceptible to these strong storms, and you’ll often hear chatter about the birds getting “blown out.”
It doesn’t take but a week or two for the birds to become educated and even more evasive, giving them that oh-so-appropriate name, “Grey Ghosts.” So, with such fickle and punishing weather and temperamental targets, why do so few utilize the summer months to prepare?

NSSF Files Letter with Federal Trade Commission Urging Examination of Biden-Era Abuses
WASHINGTON, D.C. — NSSF®, The Firearm Industry Trade Association, sent a letter to the Federal Trade Commission’s (FTC) Chairman Andrew Ferguson urging the FTC to support President Donald Trump’s Executive Order Protecting Second Amendment Rights by conducting a thorough review of relationships and activities by the Biden FTC with non-governmental organizations (NGOs) that propagated “whole of government” infringements on Second Amendment rights.
Gun control groups were welcomed to the Biden White House, including through the now-defunct White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention, that built a reciprocal relationship to attack Second Amendment rights and the firearm industry that makes exercising those rights possible. As part of a coordinated “lawfare” campaign, gun control NGOs aligned with the Biden administration coordinated to publish a series of misleading “complaints” urging the FTC to investigate and a take legal action against truthful and constitutionally-protected firearm advertising.
“Countering President Biden’s ‘whole of government’ effort to infringe the Second Amendment necessitates a whole of government response by this administration,” wrote Lawrence G. Keane, NSSF Senior Vice President and General Counsel, to Chairman Ferguson. “Likewise, the particular focus from the Biden Administration and NGOs on co-opting the Biden-era FTC for their unconstitutional agenda, necessitates decisive action from the current Commission.”
Specifically, NSSF urged the FTC to take the following actions to implement President Trump’s Executive Order:

Issue a statement publicly reaffirming the Commission’s commitment to protecting Second Amendment rights, consistent with the Executive Order;
-
Review actions during the last administration to determine the full nature and extent of the pressure exerted by the Biden White House on former commissioners and staff to infringe Second Amendment rights;
-
Review actions during the last administration by former commissioners and staff to determine whether they improperly aligned themselves with anti-Second Amendment NGOs, utilized Commission resources to aid those groups, or otherwise engaged in conduct that infringed the Second Amendment;
-
Refer any relevant findings to the Attorney General; and
-
Promote full public transparency of the foregoing by making public the results of the Commission’s inquiry.
NSSF detailed the Biden administration’s abuses of government authority to enrich and empower gun control organizations aligned with the former administration’s antigun efforts. Those included wielding the FTC as one lever of governmental power to silence constitutionally-protected free speech through advertising, lucrative and dubious gun control fundraising campaigns, and misleading and deceptive legal claims against firearm manufacturers.

Streamlight Launches Sidewinder Compact III
STREAMLIGHT® LAUNCHES SIDEWINDER COMPACT® III
Ultra-Compact, Multi-Fuel Flashlight with 185° Tilting Head, Mounting Options, and a User-Configurable LED Option
EAGLEVILLE, PA, August 26, 2025 – Streamlight® Inc., a leading provider of high-performance lighting, announced the launch of the Sidewinder Compact® III, an ultra compact, high-performance, multi-fuel flashlight with multiple LED sources. This light is engineered to meet a variety of hands-free task illumination requirements with various color LEDs that are operable at varying outputs and run times. With its 185-degree tilting head, durable build, gear and helmet mounting capabilities, the Sidewinder Compact III delivers powerful performance in a lightweight, highly versatile form.
The new Sidewinder Compact III features a user-configurable model with LED options that allows users to select two of three color LEDs (red, green or blue) in addition to standard white and infrared (IR) outputs. The military model includes white, red, blue and IR LEDs, while the aviation model contains white, green, red and IR LEDs. Each LED operates at multiple brightness levels, and includes a strobe mode. The light uses either one AA alkaline or one 3-volt CR123A lithium battery, offering flexible power options and extended run time in extreme environments.
“We engineered this light with versatility at its core,” said Michael F. Dineen, President of Streamlight. “It offers a powerful combination of compact design, high performance, and rugged reliability. Whether it’s mounted on a helmet, clipped to a vest, or used handheld, the Sidewinder Compact III is ready to perform.”
The light’s white LED provides up to 275 lumens and 3,200 candela on High with a beam distance of 113 meters. Run times range from 70+ hours on Low when using an AA battery, and 100+ hours when a CR123A battery is inserted. The light’s color and IR LEDs also offer long run times and are ideal for preserving night vision, signaling, or task-specific visibility needs.
The Sidewinder Compact III was designed with a compound On-Off mode selector switch that separates the On-Off, dimming, strobe and LED-selection functions. The rotary selector knob features a tactile IR indicator and pull-to-turn locking design that provides easy operation even with gloves, while also preventing accidental mode changes. The light also features an unbreakable polycarbonate lens with scratch-resistant coating.
The Sidewinder Compact III includes a durable belt/gear clip with integrated helmet mount features, which fits existing Sidewinder® helmet mounts adapters. A cord attachment hole on the clip supports up to 25 lbs. pounds of load.
Constructed from high-impact nylon, the Sidewinder Compact III is built to withstand rugged use. It is IPX7 waterproof to 1 meter for 30 minutes and impact-tested to 3 meters.
Measuring 3.1 inches long, the light weighs 3 ounces with a AA battery and 2.7 ounces when using one CR123A lithium battery. The light has an MSRP that ranges from $137.47 to $198.22, depending on the model. The Sidewinder Compact III is available in Coyote and comes with Streamlight’s One-Year Limited Warranty.
