The 2-Day Precision Rifle Series (PRS) National Match Regional Qualifier took place March 12 – 13, 2022 at the Cool Acres Sporting Camp in Swainsboro, Georgia.

Comer, Ga. (March 2022) – MasterPiece Arms (MPA), manufacturer of precision Pistol, BA Rifles and Chassis Systems, is proud to announce that its Team MPA shooters claimed eight of the Top 10 Finishes at the 2022 MPA Spring Shootout running their MPA Chassis. Over 120 competitors competed at the MPA Spring Shootout, which was held March 12 – 13, 2022 at Cool Acres Sporting Camp, located in Swainsboro, Georgia. The MPA Spring Shootout is a Precision Rifle Series (PRS) 2-Day National Match Regional Qualifier, and one of three Regional Qualifiers in the Southeast for the 2022 season. “The MPA Spring Shootout finished up this past weekend and I could not be prouder of our Team MPA Shooters at the match for performing so well despite what Mother Nature threw at them. Competitors running MPA Chassis had eight of the Top 10 Finishes in the match, a clear indication of how well our systems perform during competition. Congrats to all the winners and top place finishers,” commented Phil Cashin, owner of MPA.

“In the game today, you have so many options to choose from. What distinguishes Masterpiece Arms from the rest of the competition is constant innovation. As a result, MPA has an answer for seemingly every situation you come across in competition. This weekend the MPA Matrix Chassis was the perfect answer and it showed. It was an assertive message; I was able to come out on top and the MPA chassis accounted for eight of the top 10 placings,” Morgun King remarked.

ATN Corp. Donates $300K to Support the Gorta Group’s Ukraine Relief Efforts

ATN continues to work with international groups, expediting much-needed resources to the citizens of embattled Ukraine. ATN donates $300K to one of the oldest international organizations dedicated to alleviating the suffering of the world’s poor and victims of military conflicts.

Doral, Fla. (March 2022) – ATN, Corp., an industry leader of innovative optics for civilian, law enforcement, and the military, have donated $300,000 to The Gorta Group, an NGO established in 1965 to serve people and communities in war zones and conflicts, to provide humanitarian and medical relief to Ukraine.

The Gorta Group CEO, Ray Jordan, arrived in neighboring Slovakia on the same day the Russians invaded Ukraine. With his senior staff, the organization procured partnerships with the Ivano Frankvisk Hospital No. 2, the Slovakian Foreign Ministry, two Slovak NGOs, secured a warehouse in Vysne Nemecke, and secured vehicles and drivers to cross the border. By early March, The Gorta Group was providing welfare and medical services for refugees and delivering non-medical items, including much-needed flour for Ukrainian bakeries.

Currently, The Gorta Group has three warehouses and distribution centers (two in Ukraine, one in Slovakia), two hospitals in Ivano Frankvisk, Ukraine receiving medical supplies, and one regional food distribution center, also located in Ivano Frankvisk. The Gorta Group’s dedicated staff has decades of experience in managing large-scale food and non-medical item distribution to marginalized communities and communities ravaged by conflict.

Marc Vayn, founder of ATN Corp, an American citizen born in Kyiv, Ukraine, has been in Bulgaria, assisting with efforts to move desperately needed products to the Ukrainian citizens in their defense against Russian troops. ATN set up a donation platform, of which Vayn donated $100K of his personal funds to the cause. The ATN fund currently has raised $170K for the cause.

Vayn explained, “ATN’s donation of $300,000 will go far to provide food and non-medical supplies to refugees fleeing and remaining within Ukraine. The very act of supplying Ukrainian bakeries with flour to keep producing bread for the citizens is an act of defiance in the face of all those who would seek to destroy a peaceful, democratic country’s government. ATN will continue to stand by our brothers and sisters in their fight for freedom.”

ATN CEO, James Munn, co-founder of the American-based ATN, Corp. and a US Army veteran, commented on this latest company-based donation, “The Gorta Group has been around for a long time and involved in a global-wide mission to end the suffering of people by providing them with medical and food products immediately, and staying long-term to assure these communities can get back up on their feet. Caimano Nero N.A. is the non-automatic version of the tactical knife that Extrema Ratio has supplied to the G.O.I. (Operational Raiders Group) of the Italian Navy.

The blade is a 4 mm thick asymmetrical spear point. The serrated part of the edge allows to cut highly-resistant cables and fabrics without losing its sharpening.

The bottom part of the handle is designed to enhance the grip for a rapid extraction of the knife from the pocket. It is also equipped with a hard-metal glass breaker.

The DLC-coated titanium clip can be positioned in three different angles on both sides allowing to conceal the knife as much as possible inside the pocket.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – March 17, 2022 – Blackhawk®, a leader in law enforcement and military equipment for over 20 years, congratulates tactical athlete Zach Rodman on his first-place finish in the Men’s Elite Division of the Tactical Games Utah. The two-day competition, which hosted close to 200 competitors, took place March 12-13 at the Southern Utah Practical Shooting Range in Washington, Utah.

Rodman, a 15-year veteran of the Kokomo, Indiana, police force and SWAT team, utilized Blackhawk’s T-Series holster and new Foundation Series Tac Nylon gear, including plate carrier, belt, and pouches throughout the competition.

“Zach is off to a great start this season, placing 6th at the Meridian event and then following it up with a fantastic first place finish in Utah,” said Courtney Tiziani, brand marketing manager for Blackhawk. “The Men’s Elite Division is arguably the toughest classification in the Tactical Games, and it’s been no surprise to see Zach and his gear performing at an optimal level.”

DJI Mini 2 and Mini SE now supported in Litchi for iOS

Litchi pilots, we know you have been waiting for this! We are happy to announce that the Mini 2 and Mini SE are now fully supported in Litchi for iOS 2.12.

Flying an Air 2S? Be sure to update to the recently released Air 2S firmware v02.04.21.50 in which DJI fixed the issue where the gimbal’s position is not reported in Litchi. This update means the Air 2S is now fully supported in Litchi for Android 4.21.3.

We have also added support for the Air 2S in Litchi for iOS 2.12, however be aware that currently you can only do one autonomous or semi-autonomous flight per launch of Litchi on iOS. After that flight, a restart of Litchi is required in order to start a new one. This is caused by a bug in the DJI iOS SDK which we have reported to DJI and hope they will fix soon.

FN ANNOUNCES SAFETY RECALL FOR THE FN 502 TACTICAL

(McLean, VA – March 17, 2022) FN America, LLC announces a safety recall for the FN 502 Tactical .22LR pistol, which was previously the subject of FN’s January 27, 2022 safety bulletin. The original concern involved a missing manual safety lock lever in a small number of FN 502 Tactical pistols that would allow the discharge of the pistol when the trigger is pulled with the manual safety in the SAFE position. While investigating this issue with Umarex, the supplier of the FN 502 Tactical, we encountered a separate concern with proper installation of the manual safety lock lever. Consequently, if forced by multiple pulls of the trigger in succession, or if the pistol is jarred, an unintended firing may happen when the manual safety is in the SAFE position.

Because the safety of our customers is our primary concern, FN is voluntarily issuing a recall to address this newly discovered issue involving the safety and advising all owners of the FN 502 Tactical with a serial number lower than LR010300 to suspend use of their pistol and return the pistol to FN for repair or replacement in accordance with the recall instructions.

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – March 16, 2022 – Bushnell®, an industry leader in performance optics, congratulates Elite Tactical pro shooter Troy Livesay on his first-place finish at the Accuracy Indiana Long Range Precision Rifle Shoot.  Livesay claimed the top spot at the 1-mile match in Newberry, Indiana, for a second year in a row using the new Bushnell Elite Tactical XRS3 riflescope.

This year’s Accuracy Indiana Long Range Precision Rifle Shoot consisted of 11 stages with targets ranging from 268 to 1,760 yards (one mile). Throughout the match, shifting winds and difficult target arrays challenged competitors on each stage. Despite the tough match conditions, Livesay was able to stay one-step ahead of the other 94 competitors to claim the top overall spot. Livesay’s first place finish matched his performance from 2021, giving him back-to-back titles at the annual competition.

“Shooting long range field-style matches has always been my favorite,” Livesay said. “These types of matches force you to make good wind calls and the unpredictable environment keeps everyone on their toes. This was also my first match behind the XRS3, and it was a critical piece of coming out on top in some challenging conditions. I couldn’t be happier with clarity of the glass or its consistent tracking. The new G4P reticle gave me everything I needed and more. I can’t wait to keep shooting with it.”

The new Elite Tactical XRS3 6-36×56 riflescope used by Livesay features the most advanced Elite Tactical optical system ever. NDIA is accepting nominations for the two Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) Defense Division Awards for presentation at the 2022 CBRN Defense Conference and Exhibition on July 26 – 28, 2022 in Baltimore, MD.

The Honorary William C. Baugh CBRN Defense Excellence Award recognizes an individual who has made the greatest overall contribution to CBRN defense programs during their lifetime. Achievements for which this award will be considered may relate to any of the many components that make up this highly diverse, complex, vital commodity:

Research and development through the acquisition of capabilities needed by the warfighters and first responders;
Identification of ever-growing threats; or
Innovation in training for the current, or future fight and identifying readiness initiatives for business opportunities.

Baugh Form

The Joseph D. Wienand NDIA CBRN Division STEM Excellence Award is in recognition of the greatest overall STEM achievement and/or efforts of an individual that most significantly impacted CBRN defense programs. This award recognizes the individual who, in the judgment of the panel, has demonstrated outstanding accomplishment through their own personal innovation and creativity in the areas of STEM. PROOF OF VACCINATION: All attendees will be required to provide proof of vaccination or proof of negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours prior to arriving onsite for badge pick-up. Details for securely providing documentation will be provided shortly on the event website.

The “Miss Milah’s Miracle” campaign is the latest fundraising effort of Henry’s Guns For Great Causes program, a charitable branch of the company that focuses on providing support for sick children, children’s hospitals, military veterans organizations, and other non-profit groups. All of the rifles sold out within 3 hours of the initial release announcement. In addition, the online auctions for the first and last serial numbers in the limited series ended at $5,850 and $4,600, respectively.

“I am in shock; this is just still so surreal,” said Keyara Schevenius, Milah’s mother, after learning how fast the rifles sold out. “I would never have imagined how big this would get when we first heard about what Henry was doing for Milah…our little girl is so loved!”

Beretta Holding Agrees to Acquisition of RUAG Ammotec

New Group Will Have Over 50 Subsidiaries and $1.5 Billion in Revenues


Beretta Holding announced on 9 March it has entered into a binding agreement to acquire 100% of RUAG Ammotec. The parties have agreed not to disclose the financial terms of the transaction, completion of which will be subject to normal regulatory approval and closing conditions and which is expected to be completed within six months.

“This is a very special moment in the history of our Group. We warmly welcome the more than 2,700 employees of RUAG Ammotec to our Group, having worked almost three years on this project,” stated Pietro Gussalli Beretta, President and CEO of Beretta Holding. During that period, there has been clear recognition of the excellent cultural fit between the two organisations, and that RUAG Ammotec has a strong, experienced and competent management team in place. “We have the firearms and the optics, RUAG Ammotec has the ammo – there is almost no overlap, explained Beretta”.

There are also strong synergies in R&D and distribution, which will lead to strengthening the enlarged group’s European business and further develop its global footprint. “This new addition to our group will add a substantial number of high-end brands to our existing portfolio of premium brands,” Beretta added. As requested by the Swiss government, Beretta commits to maintaining the existing locations and has specifically agreed to maintaining 400 jobs at the Thun facility for at least five years, according to a RUAG statement.

From a RUAG International perspective, the sale of the Ammotec division fits perfectly with its evolving strategy of becoming an agile technology provider with a focus on space. “We are taking the next step to withdraw from the defence-related business completely. We are pleased to have found a renowned industrial partner for Ammotec in Beretta, who will take over all employees and the Thun site. With its industry experience and global presence, Beretta offers the best conditions to sustainably grow Ammotec’s business activities for the benefit of customers and employees,” explained André Wall, RUAG International CEO.

Beretta has been family-owned for nearly 500 years – since Mastro Bartolomeo Beretta was commissioned to provide arquebus barrels for the Venice Arsenal in 1526. Post acquisition, Beretta Holding Group will encompass some 6,000 employees and will have revenues of approx. €1.5 billion. It will add five manufacturing sites and 16 new companies in 12 countries, meaning there will be over 50 subsidiaries worldwide.

The fully redesigned pistol not only improves the Scorpion’s ergonomics and user-friendly operation, but it incorporates advanced materials that are tougher and lighter than before.

Ambidextrous controls are the gold standard in modern firearm design. In addition to the ambi safety found on the EVO 3, the Scorpion 3+ includes an ambidextrous bolt catch allowing for the user to operate it left or right-handed. The new AR-style mag release is accessible on both sides. The operation of the 3+ is now super intuitive – essential in high-stress situations!

The new ergonomic grip design makes it a more comfortable shooting experience for the user. The M-LOK® handguard is now upgraded from aluminum to polymer to reduce heat transfer.

A slimmed-down upper receiver accommodates more options when attaching different accessories to replace the end cap. A redesigned magwell is resized, adding more purchase on the handguard for large or gloved hands. The adjustable four aperture aluminum sights are updated to deliver lower 1/3 co-witness with popular red dots, providing a better sight picture and reliable backup.

CZ added recessed texture to the magazine for positive purchase during reloads. Users will also notice a locking window on the mag body that accommodates the new AR-style mag release. New Scorpion 3+ magazines are also compatible with previous generations of the Scorpion.

The micro features a 4.2-inch cold hammer-forged barrel is threaded 1/2×28 and comes equipped with a removable flash can. The micro is an extremely compact pistol for maneuverability in tight quarters. The newly redesigned Scorpion 3+ pistols build on the success of the original’s proven features with enhancements throughout the gun.

The ALPHA’s ideally located and recessed 6-pin Autoloading Guarded Connector was specifically designed to prevent damage when using a slung weapon. Additionally, the magnetic properties of the charging port and design of the mating cables allow for an automatic connection when ALPHA is installed on a rifle. 
Adjusting the sight picture of the ALPHA was made to be both fast and simple, with its design based on feedback from the field. The ambidextrous Single Finger Focus lever is easy to use and allows for adjustments to be made in no light conditions using only a single finger of a gloved hand. Once focus is correctly adjusted, the powerful 50Hz 12 um sensor and MATRIX III image processor provide the ALPHA’s HD display the highest level of clarity on the commercial market.

Building on over four decades of success with the original Concealable, the 2.0 version is updated for 21st century gun carriers. Cut low at the front, the new design accommodates most popular carry-style red dot optics. The raised sweat guard protects the wearer’s body from the pistol, and the pistol from the body’s natural perspiration. A mild butt-forward cant offers an easy draw from behind the dominant-side hip while also enhancing concealment with larger defensive pistols.

The Concealable 2.0’s unique two-piece construction is contoured on the body side to the natural curve of the hip, keeping all the molding on the front of the holster, allowing for significantly more comfortable carry and a narrower profile than an ordinary pancake type holster.
