CLAYTON, MO (September 3, 2025) — Team Winchester and Team White Flyer dominated the 2025 NSCA Western Regional, held August 25-31, at Rock Creek Ranch in Emmett, Idaho. Together, the team secured 13 podium finishes across all events.

The highest overall lady receives an additional payout of $3,000, runner-up receives $1,500, third place receives $1,000, fourth place $750, and fifth place $500. The additional payout that Winchester provides totals almost $50,000 in incentive for women competing in the NSCA Championship Tour. Nothing fits that definition better than the lever-action rifle. The design has been cemented into culture since its inception and requires few, if any, changes. Chiappa continues the tradition with the 86 Wildlands Angle Ejection Takedown, a firearm worth the heritage and a close look.

The 86 Wildlands Angle Ejection Takedown is a modern take on the old lever-action classic. Chambered in 45/70, it is a fully capable rifle that moves to add modern characteristics. Built with a 1:18 twist 16.5-inch barrel and a magazine tube capacity of 4+1, it is a heavy hitter that can easily follow up, shot after shot. The barrel is 5/8×24 threaded to attach muzzle devices, accept thread protectors, recoil mitigation devices, or suppressors.

The stock is skeletonized with an adjustable comb and outfitted with an attachment point for accessories or cartridge holders. An integrated adjustable cheek rest allows for precise comfort. The forend is made from overbuilt aluminum with M-LOK adaptability and features an over receiver rail for optics attachments. The lever is wrapped in black paracord for easy use and comfortable operation.

The 86 Wildlands Angle Ejection Takedown is finished in a matte blued style, adding a tactical look and style. Once fired, spent cases are ejected to the side, accommodating any optic. The main distinguishing characteristic of the rifle is the takedown feature, allowing the rifle to be separated into two pieces, connecting to the receiver’s front. Users can mount a scope on the rear portion of the picatinny rail and disassemble the rifle without removing the scope, making the 86 Wildlands Takedown perfect for easy carrying and storage while retaining full rifle functions. When assembled, quick connections are located on various rifle points for quick sling attachment and removal.

The 86 Wildlands Angle Ejection Takedown is not just any lever action, but one to carry, use, and bestow.

Factor Sniper Long

The Factor Sniper Long is Hatsan’s flagship precision rifle, overbuilt by design. Available in .22, .25, .30, and .35 calibers, it brings significant power in a match-ready platform. A fully adjustable hammer preload and externally adjustable regulator enable fine-tuned power curves to match the preferred pellet of choice and shooting conditions. Everything about the Factor Sniper Long screams modularity and control. The side-lever action is smooth and reversible for ambidextrous use. Onboard, a 700cc carbon fiber bottle, a 100cc pre-air chamber, and dual pressure gauges—one for the main cylinder and another for the regulator—permit competition shooters to always know what is happening under the hood. TacBoss

The TacBoss is less of a sniper tower and more of a mobile marksman platform. Built for those who prefer compact, purpose-built precision, the TacBoss is a competition-focused PCP with just the right amount of muscle. Available in .22 and .25 calibers, it offers up to 37 foot-pounds of energy, backed by a 580cc carbon fiber tank and the same dual-gauge monitoring system found on its bigger sibling. The externally adjustable regulator allows users to tailor the power output to match ammo and application, whether 10-meter silhouettes or 100-yard steel.

Function meets flexibility with a customizable 3-way adjustable, lightweight side-folding aluminum stock. Add in an adjustable cheek rest, competition butt plate compatibility, and two built-in magazine storage slots in the stock, and this rifle is engineered with stage shooting in mind. The precision-rifled and choked barrel, QuietEnergy sound suppression, and ½ UNF threaded muzzle ensure both stealth and accuracy, as follow-up shots are not always guaranteed.

Both rifles are built on aluminum frames with integrated combination rails for 11mm dovetails and 22mm Weaver mounts, and a Picatinny rail beneath the forearm for bipods or other accessories. Magazine capacities span from 21 rounds in .22 to 13 rounds in .35 (Sniper Long) and 16 to 14, depending on caliber (TacBoss). Each rifle includes two detachable magazines, a Foster fill fitting, and a patented anti-knock system that keeps things quiet at the match or range.

Southern Pines, NC — August 30, 2025 — Special Forces Trust is proud to announce a formal partnership with the Marckesano Family, marking the next chapter for Andy’s Fund. Through this partnership, Andy’s Fund will now operate under the umbrella of the Special Forces Trust, ensuring its mission is supported by an organization deeply embedded within the Special Forces community, and deeply committed to mental health.

Created in honor of MSG Andrew Marckesano, a highly decorated Green Beret, Andy’s Fund exists to combat the mental health crisis within the Special Forces community — with a sharp focus on root-cause treatment of traumatic brain injuries (TBIs), post-traumatic stress (PTS), and the challenges of alcohol and drug abuse. Since Andy’s passing on July 7, 2020, the Fund has worked tirelessly to drive culture change, address stigma, and connect Green Berets to life-saving resources.

“By joining with Special Forces Trust, we are strengthening the reach, trust, and impact of Andy’s Fund,” said Kathryn Marckesano, Gold Star Mother of MSG Marckesano. “The Trust’s deep relationships with the Special Forces community and leadership make them the ideal home for this mission. Together, we can save lives.”

On August 23 at the Hope & Purpose Ball in Florida, Special Forces Trust CEO Jodi Burns reflected on the personal significance of this partnership: “Andy Marckesano’s death shook me. It was the reason I built Beyond the Battlefield, our suicide prevention and invisible wounds platform. It’s so ironic—and at the same time, so fitting—that a few years later, we would now be partnering directly with the Marckesano Family. The Trust is both honored and deeply moved to carry Andy’s name forward in this mission.”

The partnership will allow Andy’s Fund to expand its grant programs, increase access to advanced treatment options, and host annual initiatives aimed at prevention, resilience, and recovery within the Green Beret community. The rapid rise of AI-powered web development tools has made it easier than ever to create functional websites with minimal technical expertise. But recent research suggests that these same tools are being repurposed by cybercriminals to run large-scale phishing operations.

According to a report from cybersecurity firm Proofpoint, attackers are leveraging an AI platform called Lovable to build and deploy phishing websites at scale. Lovable, which allows users to generate websites using simple text prompts, has seen a surge in malicious use, with tens of thousands of malicious URLs detected each month since early 2025.

The platform’s ease of use is a major factor. Even free-tier users can replicate public sites, swap in a new logo, and quickly launch phishing pages. This allows one phishing template to multiply into hundreds of copycat campaigns with little effort.

Proofpoint tracked several attack campaigns using Lovable-hosted websites. These included fake Microsoft login pages for credential theft, counterfeit CAPTCHA challenges, shipping company impersonations targeting payment data, and bogus DeFi platforms used to trick victims into connecting crypto wallets. Other examples involved malware disguised as legitimate software installers, which then infected users with remote access trojans.

This trend falls under a growing practice called “vibe coding”—a term describing how AI-generated code is often built based on broad inputs without concern for long-term maintainability or security. While the technology lowers the barrier to web development, it also generates poorly structured or vulnerable code that attackers can exploit.

Researchers warn that AI-generated websites often lack proper security controls and can easily be repurposed by malicious actors. Because these tools automate much of the work traditionally required to create a phishing campaign, attackers can now devote more attention to social engineering and payload delivery.

While Lovable has acknowledged the issue and says it’s working on mitigation strategies, the broader concern remains: as AI tools continue to democratize coding, they also risk making cyberattacks more accessible. Security experts urge developers of such platforms to implement stronger safeguards against misuse.

Franklin Armory® and FRAC Issue Statement on ATF Open Letter Regarding Reformation®

Minden, Nev. – August 29, 2025 – Franklin Armory®, one of America’s leading manufacturers of innovative firearms and accessories, and the Firearms Regulatory Accountability Coalition (FRAC) issued the following statement today regarding the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) Open Letter advising FFLs on the classification of Franklin Armory’s Reformation firearm:

Shortly after President Trump issued his executive order directing the Department of Justice to review and correct anti-Second Amendment abuses of power by previous administrations, DOJ and ATF abandoned their appeal of a Federal District Court Judge’s ruling in our favor that had rectified the misclassification of Franklin Armory’s Reformation® firearm. While we were confident of another victory on appeal, fortunately, the current leadership at both DOJ and ATF proved to have more respect for legal principles than their predecessors and avoided further miring the parties into an even longer drawn-out legal battle.

This Open Letter formally reaffirms what we have known to be true all along: Reformation can only be classified as a standard “firearm” under the Gun Control Act (GCA) and is completely exempt from the National Firearms Act (NFA). Furthermore, it is neither a short-barreled shotgun nor short-barreled rifle under the GCA.

Additionally, by the parties entering into this agreement, DOJ’s and ATF’s position on Reformation’s classification is now clear. This means that consumers nationwide—at least in free states— will continue to have unfettered access to the ultimate home defense weapon for protection of self, family, and property, free and clear of all NFA restrictions in the form of Franklin Armory’s Reformation series of firearms.

We are grateful to Attorney General Bondi and ATF Acting Director Driscoll for recognizing the validity of our case and appreciate their combined efforts to negotiate an agreement. Settling this case not only rights a wrong perpetrated against a constitutionally-protected business seeking nothing more than to engage in lawful commerce, but also helps to reestablish integrity and trust between industry and executive branch institutions.

The ATF’s Open Letter regarding Reformation was issued earlier today as a negotiated action in the recent settlement between Franklin Armory and co-plaintiff FRAC (Firearms Regulatory Accountability Coalition) and the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) in FRAC, et al. v. Bondi, et al. (formerly FRAC, et al. v. Garland, et al.) at the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals and the District of North Dakota.
