Since that time, Wheeler has continued to shoot in 3 Gun matches, growing her experience and her love for the sport. She has placed in every match that she’s gone to, and hopes to further improve her skills this season.
Wheeler also holds honors in her high school academic and extracurricular career. She hold a 3.968 GPA and is an Honor Roll member, Prinicipal’s Award recipient and Student Council Member. She is active in Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), Family Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), and Future Farmers of America (FFA). She has 13 years of experience in livestock showing with numerous awards under her belt.

Team Federal Shot Strong at the 2022 Magpul Texas 3-Gun Championship

ANOKA, Minnesota – April 28, 2022 – Team Federal finished strong at the recent Magpul Texas 3-Gun Championship held at the Reveille Peak Ranch in Burnet, Texas, where Federal was a Platinum level sponsor. Of the 256 competitors, Team Federal shooters Josh Froelich and Konnor Fryburger were standouts in the competition. Froelich finished second overall, and first in the 2×4 Open Division. Fryburger received Top Junior honors, first in the Limited Division, plus he was named Top Texan in the Limited Division.

“The Magpul Texas 3-Gun Championship is one of the most respected multigun matches in the country. Match Directors Aaron Hayes and Garrison English once again proved that reputation to be well-deserved, and the hospitality at the event was top-notch,” said Jason Spradling, Federal’s Shooting Sports Promotions Manager. “A great multigun match requires competitors to strike a balance between judicious application of fundamentals and aggressive stage execution to score well. The team at the Texas 3-Gun Championship provided just such an experience.”

“The Texas 3-Gun championship is one of the most well attended, competitive, high-round count multigun shooting championships in the country. Texas has big stages with difficult shooting challenges and some of the most unforgiving wind. This place will challenge any shooter and any gear you bring to run at the event,” said Josh Froelich. “This was my 4th Texas 3-gun championship and my 4th win in 2×4 division. I’m looking forward to coming back again to defend the title next year.”

“I’m really happy to come away from this match with three trophies and to have performed so well in my home state. She claimed the highest overall finish of any woman in Multi-Gun Nationals history, placing seventh overall in the Tac-Optics Division as well as taking the High Lady title.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Information

The CBRN planning team is monitoring the COVID-19 situation as the health of our event participants, members, and partners remains our top priority. We are committed to following the guidelines and precautions as outlined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the venue. Attendees should adhere to the following at the conference:

PROOF OF VACCINATION: All attendees will be required to provide proof of vaccination or proof of negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours prior to arriving onsite for badge pick-up. Details for securely providing documentation will be provided shortly on the event website.
MASKS: NDIA follows CDC and state guidelines. Currently, it is recommended that fully vaccinated attendees wear a mask indoors, but they may choose not to. All attendees that are not fully vaccinated or do not wish to disclose that information will be required to wear face masks. Please plan and bring your own face mask. A very limited supply of disposable masks will be available onsite.
WAIVER: All registrants are required to sign NDIA’s COVID-19 waiver during the online registration process. Attendees may disclose their vaccination status at the time of signing.
SOCIAL DISTANCING: Additional venue space will be available to allow for attendees to spread out.

ARLINGTON, Va., April 26, 2022 – AeroVironment, Inc. (NASDAQ: AVAV), a global leader in intelligent, multi-domain robotic systems, today announced the successful maritime demonstration of Interoperability to Interchangeability (I2I) operations by the U.S. Navy and Royal Navy using AeroVironment’s Puma™ 3 AE small unmanned aircraft systems. The demonstration was part of a combined event – International Maritime Exercise 2022/Cutlass Express 2022 (IMX/CE 22) – that took place from Feb. 6-17, 2022.

IMX/CE 22 is the largest maritime exercise in the Middle East with more than 60 partner nations and organizations participating with 9,000 personnel and 50 ships. IMX/CE 22 was also the largest maritime unmanned systems exercise to date with more than 80 unmanned systems, including unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), unmanned surface vessels (USVs) and unmanned undersea vehicles (UUVs).

The I2I capability demonstration was supported by AeroVironment as part of the U.S. 5th Fleet’s Task Force 59 team, denoted as Task Force X (TF-X), participating in IMX/CE 22. TF-X was comprised of various multinational government and industry partners working together to integrate and demonstrate new unmanned systems capabilities for U.S. and coalition naval forces in a series of pre-planned serials.

During the exercise, AeroVironment’s Blue Hotel computer vision and analytics solution demonstrated the visual identification of maritime targets simultaneously from multiple UAV and USV video feeds in real-time during all of the TF-X serials. It was also used by the U.S. Navy as the primary video repository and distribution hub for TF-X, providing all coalition partners with access to real-time video feeds and artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML) analytic results for Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA). The advanced AI/ML software enabled the warfighters to quickly sift through the large amounts of video data, pinpointing individual vessels of interest, and providing real time information on their activities throughout the exercise.

FAA Accepting Applications for Aviation Workforce Development Grants

WASHINGTON— The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration is seeking applications for two Aviation Workforce Development Grant programs aimed at developing and inspiring a more diverse pool of pilots and aviation maintenance technicians to join the next generation of aviation professionals. This is the FAA’s second funding opportunity for these programs. A total of $10 million is available for the grants.

The Aircraft Pilots Workforce Development Grants will educate students to become pilots, aerospace engineers or unmanned aircraft systems operators. The Aviation Maintenance Technical Workers Workforce Development Grants will prepare aviation maintenance technicians. Eligible entities can submit applications at www.grants.gov through June 10, 2022.

Eligible entities may apply for grants ranging from $25,000 to $500,000 for each grant per fiscal year. Last year, the FAA awarded $10 million in grants to more than 30 schools and organizations.

The Notice of Funding Opportunity for each grant provides detailed information on eligibility, deadlines, evaluation criteria and application procedures. To ensure fair and open competition for the grants, answers to public questions will be posted on the FAA website at www.faa.gov/go/awd.

Potential applicants should visit the site to review answers to frequently asked questions, eligibility requirements and guidelines that may assist them to complete their grant application.

KREIOS EXPEDITIONS:

Just like its original model, Kreios, Kreios Expeditions was developed and designed in collaboration with Master Advanced F.I.S.S.S. Instructor Daniele Dal Canto (Italian Federation of Sports and Experimental Survival), who dubbed it the “off-road” of edged tools. Its design is not just meant for a specific use, but for an extremely versatile multi-purpose tool for a vast array of outdoor activities.

Its ergonomics, weight and size make the Kreios Expeditions highly effective at carving a path through dense foliage, especially when keeping a safe distance from thorny or otherwise dangerous vegetation. Because of its sturdiness, it also performs excellently as a heavy field work machete, in such duties as felling trees or chopping firewood.

The length of its 12” ¾ “full flat” cutting edge combined with its 11° downward blade-to-grip angle and hefty 22 ½ oz. weight yield an extraordinary cutting capability and very high tolerance to tensile stress. Contemporary geometries and materials meld with Malaysian and African traditions into a heavy duty field work tool which doubles as a weapon of defense and offense in a pinch.

Kreios Expeditions has a desert forprene handle and a BÖHLER N690 (58HRC) blade steel with MIL-C-13924 burnishing and a superficial stone washed finishing (DARK STONE finishing).

It comes with a desert cordura sheath with MOLLE system, a safety carry shoulder belt, a mini puch containing a paracord with flammable filament, which can be used in case of emergency and/or difficult climatic conditions, and a Firesteel for lighting fires.

SELVANS EXPEDITIONS:

Just like its original model, Selvans, Selvans Expeditions was developed as a collaboration between Extrema Ratio and Master Advanced F.I.S.S.S. instructor Daniele Dal Canto (Italian Federation of Sport and Experimental Survival). It is the result of a modification of the ONTOS – a military survival knife – designed to enhance its effectiveness as a civilian tool.

A longer handle and a heavier blade enable enhanced chopping and cutting action. It comes with a desert cordura sheath with MOLLE system, a safety carry shoulder belt, a mini puch containing a paracord with flammable filament which can be used in case of emergency and/or difficult climatic conditions, and a Firesteel for lighting fires.

The improved survival kit (to be bought separately) includes: whistle, pocket chain saw, water purifying tabs, compass, copper wire, fireball flint and striker, LED light, 2.5 mts paracord and whetstone.

SETHLANS EXPEDITIONS:

Just like its original model, Sethlans, Sethlans Expeditions is a fixed blade tool born to face a wide range of situations as well as a back-up blade. Sethlans Expeditions was designed in collaboration with Daniele Dal Canto, Master Advanced F.I.S.S.S. Instructor (Italian Federation of Sports and Experimental Survival). It has a BÖHLER N690 (58HRC) blade steel with MIL-C-13924 burnishing and a superficial stone washed finishing (DARK STONE finishing).

The knife comes with G10 desert scales that feature the characteristic ergonomic design of Extrema Ratio handles. They can be removed by releasing the skeletonized structure of the knife, that allows maximum lightness with minimum thickness. For lovers of extreme customization, the full-tang structure allows the handle to be covered with a paracord.

The sheath is composed of a part in very light and minimalist Kydex. It can be disassembled and adapted for both left and right handed users. The addition of an optional belt clip allows the knife to be positioned both vertically and horizontally and makes the sheath much more versatile than the textile version.

It is also equipped with a mini pouch with M.O.L.L.E. system containing a paracord with flammable filament, which can be used in case of emergency and/or difficult climatic conditions, and a Firesteel for lighting fires.

SATRE EXPEDITIONS:

Just like its original model, Satre, Satre Expeditions is a pocket-sized, light and extremely resistant fixed blade knife. Given its characteristics, it can be employed in a large variety of activities and fields or as a part of an EDC kit (Every Day Carry).

It was designed in collaboration with Daniele Dal Canto, a Master Advanced F.I.S.S.S. instructor (Italian Federation of Sport and Experimental Survival). It can be worn as a neck knife thanks to its Paracord 550 lanyard. This way, it is possible to keep it vertical with the handle facing down. The pre-shaped Kydex sheath has eyelets, allowing to apply both lanyard and accessory holder.

The ULTICLIP carry solution (only available on extremaratio.com) allows to clip the sheath together with not only belts, but also pockets, trousers, jackets, shirts and t-shirts. ULTICLIP gives the possibility to position the knife both vertically and horizontally and allows a more accessible use for left and right handed.

The full-tang skeletonized structure allows the customization of the knife by using the Paracord as an handle cover.

Satre Expeditions has a BÖHLER N690 (58HRC) blade steel with MIL-C-13924 burnishing and a superficial stone washed finishing (DARK STONE finishing). It comes with a pre-shaped desert kydex sheath on which it can be attached a Firesteel for lighting fires.

MWSF gets back to basics at Garner State Park

San Antonio, TX (April 26, 2022) – Military Warriors Support Foundation was initially founded with the goal of getting heroes out in the great outdoors and has continued to provide Heroes the opportunity to connect and find peace out in nature. On February 15th-17th, Military Warriors’ Skills4Life Program hosted a group of combat-wounded veterans at Garner State Park. This specific Hero Camp allowed each attendee to acquire different camping and outdoor skills from one another while sharing recipes and cooking techniques.

Most of the time was spent sharing stories, ideas and cooking around the campfire. While most of the campsite was dedicated to our Warriors, there were a few occupied campsites nearby. This didn’t prevent anyone from enjoying the full moon and clear sky. It was the ideal opportunity for some nighttime photography.

The Skills4Life Hero Camp event is a fantastic time to provide our Heroes with opportunities to meet one another in nature, around a campfire, and it also gives respite in nature for our Heroes.

Application Period Open for $100,000 in NSSF Hunting Heritage Trust Grants

NEWTOWN, Conn. — NSSF®, The Trade Association for the Firearm Industry, is pleased to announce that the application process for the 2022 Hunting Heritage Trust Grant program featuring $100,000 in awards is open.

The Hunting Heritage Trust Grant program is designed to support recruitment efforts benefitting hunting and the shooting sports. Qualified non-governmental organizations (NGOs) may apply for a portion of this year’s $100,000 grant total, to be used to support recruitment, retention and reactivation programs, known collectively as R3 efforts.

In its grant award process, NSSF will place an emphasis this year on programs assisting non-traditional participants.

“We encourage eligible organizations to apply for assistance with this new round of Hunting Heritage Trust grants,” said Joe Bartozzi, NSSF President & CEO. “With an increase in firearm sales and also interest in hunting and recreational shooting among diverse, non-traditional audiences, we’ll be focusing on assisting programs that address the needs of this growing participant base. If you’ve got a program in mind that meets the criteria, one of these grants can help get it off the ground.”

Grant applications may be submitted only by and in the name of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) seeking funding for hunting and shooting sports R3 efforts. Project proposals from organizations other than non-NGOs will not be accepted. All grant applications must be submitted to NSSF by May 13, 2022, for consideration. All projects awarded grant funding in 2022 must be completed by March 10, 2023. Organizations are eligible for only one grant award from the Grant Program.
