Howard Leight Pro Wins Open Division and Overall Handgun Titles at 2022 Steel Challenge World Speed Shooting Championship
CANTON, MA (May 6, 2022) – Fresh from his recent Open Division win and High Overall finish at the 2022 USPSA Area Championship, shooting phenom, KC Eusebio, has earned an unprecedented ninth World Speed Shooting Championship title. Eusebio posted an aggregate time of 10.78 seconds in his Open Division win, while also earning the Overall Handgun title.

A world-class athlete, Eusebio began competitive shooting over 25 years ago at age 8. Continuing to set the bar high for himself and others, Eusebio won the World Speed Shooting Championships at the age of 15 – the youngest athlete ever to do so.
As a first-generation American, KC’s patriotism and love of country led him to enlist in the United States Army, where he joined the elite Army Marksmanship Unit shooting team. Here, he further honed his abilities while teaching hundreds of other soldiers the advanced marksmanship skills that would consistently help complete their missions.
While his love for competition has helped deliver a successful career, Eusebio’s passion for sharing his sport has led him back to teaching. He co-founded MetaGroup, a firearms training company based in Atlanta, with World Champion shooter, Jessie Harrison, where the duo provides world-class training and instruction to military, law enforcement, and civilians.
“Training others is a true passion of mine,” Eusebio says. “I’ve shot competitively for over 25 years, so teaching and instructing is a way for me to give back. My purpose on earth is to share my knowledge and help others become more prepared in case they ever need to protect themselves and their family.”

Olin Winchester LLC, announced that the U.S. Army has awarded the company a $15 million cost-plus contract.
EAST ALTON, IL (May 5, 2022) — Olin Winchester LLC, the largest manufacturer of small caliber ammunition for the U.S. military, today announced that the U.S. Army has awarded the company a $15 million cost-plus contract for the design of the Next Generation Squad Weapon (NGSW) ammunition manufacturing facility.
Work will be performed at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant (LCAAP) in Independence, Missouri, the United States’ only government-owned, contractor-operated small caliber ammunition production facility.
“Winchester is honored to have been awarded this NGSW ammunition manufacturing facility design project at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant,” said Brett Flaugher, President of Winchester. “The ultimate design will incorporate best practices, key learnings, and stakeholder input to create a state-of-the-art production facility which delivers the U.S. Army an optimal manufacturing solution for NGSW ammunition. The NGSW ammunition produced at Lake City’s new facility will equip the American Warfighter for success on the battlefield for generations to come, helping to ensure the nation’s security and defense.”
Lake City recently announced a recruitment campaign aimed at hiring its Next Generation workforce.
“These skilled individuals will form the crucial first generation of the Winchester NGSW ammunition production team at Lake City,” said Mr. Flaugher. “This team’s focus will be to ensure every round of 6.8mm ammunition produced at Lake City is Warfighter ready.”

Firearm Industry Surpasses $15 Billion in Pittman-Robertson Excise Tax Contributions for Conservation
NEWTOWN, Conn. — NSSF®, the firearm industry trade association, marked a milestone achievement when firearm and ammunition manufacturers topped $15 billion in contributions to the Wildlife Restoration Trust Fund since its inception in 1937.
“This is an achievement for which all in the firearm and ammunition industry are proud,” said Joe Bartozzi, NSSF’s President and CEO. “This historic milestone is indicative of the value this industry places on the conservation of wildlife and the habitats in which they thrive. The Wildlife Restoration Trust Fund, which is mainly funded by taxes paid by firearm and ammunition manufacturers, has been responsible for the restoration and recovery of America’s iconic game species, including the Rocky Mountain elk, whitetail deer, pronghorn antelope, wild turkey and a variety of waterfowl. These funds have also contributed to the recovery of non-game species that are not hunted, including the American bald eagle. The firearm and ammunition industry is filled with pride to achieve this landmark for conservation funding and the role our industry plays to ensure America’s wildlife is perpetuated for future generations.”
It was less than a year ago that NSSF announced Firearm and Ammunition Excise Tax contributions surpassed $14 billion.
The Wildlife Restoration Trust Fund, commonly known as the Pittman-Robertson fund, is funded by excise taxes paid by firearm and ammunition manufacturers on their products, as well as archery equipment manufacturers. The excise tax is set at 11 percent of the wholesale price for long guns and ammunition and 10 percent of the wholesale price for handguns. The excise tax, paid by manufacturers and importers, applies to all firearms produced or imported for commercial federal law enforcement sales, whether the purpose is for recreational shooting, hunting or personal defense. The tax is administered by the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) of the Department of the Treasury, which turns the funds over to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS).
USFWS deposits the Pittman-Robertson revenues into a special account called the Wildlife Restoration Trust Fund administered by the USFWS. These funds are made available to states and territories the year following their collection based on a statutory formula. Earlier this year, USFWS announced it had dispersed to the states $1.5 billion in total funding, of which $1.1 billion was directly tied to taxes paid by the firearm and ammunition industry.
These 10 to 11 percent excise tax dollars collected since 1937 under the Pittman-Robertson Federal Aid in Wildlife Restoration Act are specifically designated to be used by state wildlife agencies for conservation and related purposes. Collectively, purchasers of firearms and ammunition, hunters and the industry are the greatest source of wildlife conservation funding.

I hope everyone celebrated Starwars Day, and that you are all doing well through these very trying times. I filled up my vehicle the other day and dropped just a few pennies short of $70, che minchia stai dicendo! To make matters worse, my Klondike bars went up $1, schifoso! Anyway, I was reprimanded by a reader who sounded like a torpedo for la familia Genovese because I haven’t done a shoot the shit lately, so I’m complying with his request to avoid ending up in the trunk of a 1962 Lincoln in Newark, NJ.
Those of you who are not regular readers may be unfamiliar with a shoot the shit. A shoot the shit, is designed to replace a therapy session, which will set you back $150+ per hour with a jackass who majored in psychology so they could understand themselves. So, a shoot the shit is a social gathering during which any topic can be discussed, participants don’t need to know anything about the subject and are free to make any comment without supporting their position, they are also free to use uncensored profanity, insult anyone they wish, or altogether change the subject. Shoot the shits can be scheduled with friends, family members or coworkers with amazing results. So, without further a do, let’s talk about naming vaginas.
Going back a number of years, I recall a woman I was dating tell me, and I quote, “Sally has a visitor”. Now, who the hell knew she was referring to her vagina, and what she was communicating is that she had her period! It was news to me! It was at that point in time I realized that women name their vaginas and their cars too. Apparently there’s been research done on this in the UK revealing some interesting things.

Thoroughly vetted and rigorously tested by a team of hand-selected law enforcement officers, the Hellcat Pro 9mm scored an impressive 4.8 out of a possible 5.00 in NTOA’s testing. Simply achieving an MTR ranking alone is impressive, but the Hellcat’s score placed it not only in ranking, but in the top “gold” scoring range. The Hellcat Pro is now part of a small and exclusive group of firearms deemed deserving of the NTOA’s law enforcement-oriented MTR program.
Tested products that receive the MTR ranking are given a “standard” rating from a score of 3.00 to 3.99, “silver” from 4.00 to 4.49, and a “gold” rating with a score from 4.50 to 5.00. The information and full review of the Hellcat are available for viewing by NTOA members in the group’s Member Tested and Recommended online database.
During testing, one law enforcement reviewer commented that the Hellcat Pro appealed to him immediately. “There are a number of specs for this gun that I liked before ever firing a round. The 3.7” barrel adds some length over the original Hellcat, but without becoming something that shrinks the pool of customers who could reasonably conceal it.”
Another law enforcement reviewer had similar feelings about the size of the Hellcat Pro. “For most of us, we usually have to settle on some compromise between capability and capacity versus comfort and concealability. When I received the Hellcat Pro, I was instantly a fan just by the feel of it in my hand. It is just big enough to shoot like a full-size, but also slim enough to conceal well.”

PROOF OF VACCINATION: All attendees will be required to provide proof of vaccination or proof of a negative COVID-19 test. NDIA has partnered with SafeExpo for attendees to upload their proof of vaccination or negative COVID-19 test. The link will remain open until Friday, May 13 at 8:00 pm EDT. The following negative tests will be accepted: Rapid Antigen, Rapid PCR, and Regular PCR, and must be administered by a medical professional. All tests must be generated by an official lab, pharmacy, or medical clinic. Proof of antibodies or any home-administered tests will not be accepted. On-site verification will be available but could result in delays in entering the Tampa Convention Center.

Each handgun uses the same stainless-steel materials and quality control standards seen in all their guns, reducing the time spent polishing and hand-finishing lowers the price. Rough Series pistols undergo a minimal cleanup and deburring, ensuring there are no sharp edges. A bead-blasted finish replaces the polished finish found on the higher-priced models. Parting lines in the metal frame and trigger guard or swirly tool marks on the barrel may be visible. Sanding and polishing the frame removes tiny casting imperfections and rough areas, but with a rough finish, these unique marks are visible, giving each pistol its own unique “character.”

About Stephen Willeford
Sunday morning, November 5, 2017, Willeford was alerted by his daughter that a shooting was occurring at the neighboring First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, Texas. He wasted no time responding. Grabbing his AR-15 and a handful of rounds, Willeford embodied the “good guy with a gun” persona as he rushed to the church. Shots were ringing in the air, and he knew the harsh truth: each shot represented the life of one of his neighbors. Willeford confronted the shooter without hesitation, shouting as he approached the place of worship to draw the shooter outside. His many hours logged at the gun range and his years of experience in gun safety helped prepare his response.
Twenty-six lives were lost that November morning and 22 were injured in the tragic shooting. Willeford is the first to say that he stepped in and did what anyone would have done, but his unique background and personal beliefs helped him act so courageously in his effort to save his friends, neighbors, and community.
