SIG SAUER Expands CROSS Rifle Series with CROSS-PRS

NEWINGTON, N.H., (May 13, 2022) – SIG SAUER is pleased to announce the first expansion of the CROSS rifle with the introduction of the CROSS-PRS that delivers match grade features fine-tuned for precision accuracy.

The SIG SAUER CROSS-PRS features a precision free-floating 24” stainless heavy contour 5R barrel fitted to a one-piece aluminum receiver, a steel frame fully adjustable folding stock, a two-piece free floating M-LOK™ handguard that comes equipped with a steel arca rail for quick and easy attachment of bipods in a Cerakote Elite Concrete finish. Additional features include a two-stage match-grade trigger that can be adjusted from 2.5 to 4.5lbs, forward angle PRS style grips, thumb rest selector, and an ambidextrous paddle magazine release. The CROSS-PRS is available in 6.5 Creedmoor and 308 Win, ships with (2) AICS pattern magazines and is optimized for use with the SIG SLH Suppressors and SIERRA6BDX Riflescopes.

NDIA’s Special Operations and Low-Intensity Conflict Division (SO/LIC) is accepting nominations for the R. Lynn Rylander Award and the DeProspero Lifetime Achievement Award. We invite you to consider and nominate a high-performing colleague, mentor, or leader for one of these prestigious awards.

The R. Lynn Rylander Award is presented annually to an individual who has made distinctive contributions in the areas of Special Operations, Low-Intensity Conflict, or Irregular Warfare. Achievements may be singular or cumulative. However, in the spirit of R. Lynn Rylander’s service, the policy, guidance, leadership, or mission contributions must have been consequential – highly significant and lasting – to the SO/LIC community. The nominee’s contributions should also show support of the goals and objectives of NDIA and the SO/LIC Division as a cooperative open forum between government and industry.

The DeProspero Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes sustained, distinguished service and is presented annually to an individual who has made distinctive lifetime contributions with significant impact in the areas of Special Operations, Low Intensity Conflict, or Irregular Warfare.

The SIG MCX-SPEAR rifle is an adaptable multi-caliber rifle featuring rear and side non-reciprocating charging handles, 6-position folding stock, ambidextrous fire control, bolt-catch, and mag release, 2-stage match trigger, 2-position adjustable gas piston, a lightened free-float M-LOK™ handguard, a full-length picatinny rail, and ships with (1) 20-round magazine.

The SIG SAUER SLX Series of suppressors are designed to drastically reduce toxic fume inhalation by the end-user and sound reduction. The SLX suppressors feature a monolithic core construction in Inconel, an internal multi-flow path to exhaust gases at a higher rate resulting in lower toxic fume inhalation, a sound-reducing baffle design, a flash reducing end cap, and are available with either the new Clutch-Lock QD mounting system for easy install and removal that offers an intuitive tactile locking ring with infinite radial locking positions or direct thread.

VERMONT: ASA Backed Suppressor Hunting Bill Heading To Governor!

Vermont Suppressor Hunting Legislation…

MONTPELIER, VERMONT – On May 11th, the Vermont State Senate passed an amended version of S. 281 – legislation that includes a provision to make The Green Mountain State the 41st state to allow the use of suppressors while hunting. The suppressor hunting language, which was championed by Representatives Pat Brennan (R-Chittenden-9-2) and George Till (D-Chittenden-3), was added to S. 281 during the floor debate in the House of Representatives and subsequently passed on May 10th. The bill now heads to Governor Phil Scott (R-VT) for his signature. Once enacted, the new law will take effect on July 1st.

The American Suppressor Association has been fighting for suppressor rights in Vermont for a decade. Over the years we have helped draft legislation, provided written and verbal testimony, and hosted multiple live-fire suppressor demonstrations for legislators, law enforcement officers, and the Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department. In 2015, legislation introduced by Rep. Brennan legalized the ownership of suppressors in the state, but not their use in the field. The passage of S. 281 brings us one step closer to full suppressor legalization nationwide.

The new facility offers the power and space for BHA to operate additional machinery, as well as increase inventory storage space.

Cody, Wyo. (May 2022) – Big Horn Armory (BHA), makers of big-bore firearms, has completed the relocation of its offices and manufacturing facilities to 319 N. Blackburn St., Cody, Wyoming, 82414. The new facility is over five times the size of the previous location, providing more manufacturing space to operate additional machines and better facilities for building BHA’s firearms. It also provides increased space for maintaining a larger inventory. These factors combine to make BHA’s operations run much more smoothly and efficiently than at the old facility and will aid in improving lead times in the next few months.

“The move to our new, larger facility offers expansion space for additional equipment and employees,” commented Greg Buchel, Owner of Big Horn Armory. “It will allow us to increase our manufacturing capabilities many times over what we could formerly accomplish. We look forward to supporting our local economy in Cody, Wyoming by creating many good, stable jobs within our company.”

BHA has increased its workforce in the manufacturing department by 20 percent since October 2021 and intends to double its staff by year-end. Nine new machines are anticipated to be on the manufacturing floor by the end of May 2022. All of the new equipment has CNC capacity with a mix of mills and lathes and barrel-making equipment, which will help to lessen the dependency upon outside vendors. BHA has consistently been adding vendors over the past year and intends to add more. With a larger pool of sourcing suppliers, supply chain issues will be minimized and will help to reduce lead times on customer orders.

“We believe in building American-made, heirloom-quality firearms with attention to detail offered in unique, big-bore calibers and as such have invested in our manufacturing capabilities to match up with our beliefs,” Buchel stated. “We appreciate our customers’ patience during this relocation process. As we finish settling in to the new facility, we continue to fulfill our orders and implement improvements to meet our customers’ needs. We anticipate reducing our lead times by half or better once we are 100 percent up and running.”

May 10, 2022: Rafael Advanced Defense Systems and its US subsidiary RSGS demonstrated the SPIKE FIREFLY loitering munition at the Army Expeditionary Warrior Experiment 2022 (also known as AEWE). AEWE 2022 is a collaborative venue under the Maneuver Battle Lab of the Maneuver Center of Excellence at Fort Benning. It is the Army’s primary venue for Small Unit modernization, providing capability developers, Cross Functional Teams (CFTs), PEO’s, the Army Science and Technology (S&T) community and industry a repeatable, credible, rigorous operational experiment supporting both concept and materiel development. This year the assessment included in addition to US army Soldiers from the Netherlands Army & the United Kingdom Army.

PEORIA, Ariz. – Apex is pleased to announce the release of its Competition Trigger Kit for the Mk IV and Mk IV 22/45 model pistols from Ruger. Available with either a black or red anodized flat-faced trigger, that is adjustable for over-travel, the new kit is a significant performance upgrade for one of the most popular .22LR handguns on the market.
Designed, tested and manufactured by Apex to provide an improved, more responsive trigger pull in the Ruger Mk IV pistols, the Competition Trigger Kit replaces the factory trigger, hammer and sear with Apex components. When installed the kit lightens the trigger pull weight to approximately 3.0 lbs., reduces over-travel by approximately 80% and overall trigger travel by 25%, resulting in a lighter, crisper trigger break that is ideal for both the competition and recreational shooter.

RAFAEL Showcasing C-GEM at AOC 2022 After Successful Live Fire Test of Naval System on Israeli Navy Saar 6 Corvette

May 10, 2022: Earlier this year, Rafael Advanced Defense Systems alongside the Israeli Navy and Ministry of Defense Directorate of Defense Research and Development (DDR&D) successfully completed a series of tests on Rafael’s C-GEM naval system.

C-GEM is an innovative shipborne off-board RF Active Decoy (RFAD) system protecting naval vessels from anti-ship missiles through electromagnetic spectrum manipulation. C-GEM jams and deceives threats from multiple directions, independent of ship maneuvers.

RAFAEL is participating in the AOC 2022 exhibition in Montpellier where they will be showcasing the C-GEM Decoy, along with the following systems:

SEWS-DV: an integrated EW suite intended for operation in a dense electromagnetic environment. SEWS-DV includes highly sensitive digital receivers and high power AESA jammers, assuring spectrum dominance and survivability in the most hostile scenarios.

SKY-SHIELD: an electronic attack pod, intended for escort jamming and suppression of enemy air defenses (SEAD) missions. SKY-SHIELD provides air superiority and allows penetration of the most advanced integrated air defense systems by simultaneously deceiving and jamming multiple enemy radars.

X-GUARD: a cutting edge supersonic towed-decoy designed for defeating advanced tracking radars. Towed behind the fighter aircraft, X-GUARD is deployable and retractable mid-flight.

DRONE-DOME Counter-UAS system: an end-to-end solution that secures airspace against hostile drones. DRONE-DOME is capable of identifying unknown targets, generating alerts and operating without causing interference to non-target airborne assets by utilizing smart jammer bandwidth allocations.

Pnuma Outdoors Hires and Promotes Industry Veterans to Lead the Charge

Stonewall, TX (May 2022) – Caza Outdoors, LLC (DBA Pnuma Outdoors) is pleased to announce industry veteran Phil Dalrymple as General Manager of Pnuma Outdoors and Heated Core.

Dalrymple will be responsible for the executive management and guidance of brand strategies for the organization. He will be instrumental in supporting the growth that Pnuma and Heated Core are experiencing across the outdoor apparel space.

Most recently, Dalrymple served as Sr. Customer Development Manager for Link Snacks, Inc, where he served as principal for the formation of the Jack Link’s and Bass Pro Shop’s strategic partnership. Prior to that, Phil spent time with Marolina as National Sales Manager, servicing outdoor retail giants Bass Pro Shop’s/ Cabela’s and Scheel’s. Preceding his time in a sales function, he spent 13 years with Cabela’s, where he served in various merchandising and product development roles, including Category Manager for multiple apparel/ footwear categories and Product Line Manager for hunting apparel.

Most recently, Smith’s sights were set on growing the Pnuma and Heated Core brands as Chief Programs Officer. His expertise and leadership have proven invaluable as he has led both brands to reach unprecedented growth since joining the Caza Outdoors team in 2021.

The world’s leading land and airland defense and security exhibition will be held from 13 to 17 June at the Parc des expositions of Paris-Nord Villepinte. It offers an essential business platform for all the sector’s players. This year, Eurosatory will focus on the airland sector with more than 250 exhibitors already registered. If accepted for the poster session, authors must follow these rules:

Each poster presenter will be provided a bulletin board which is used to display the poster. The size of the bulletin board is 2ft wide by 3ft tall.
Posters must be placed in their designated location at the beginning of the conference.
Poster presenters must be at their posters during the reception and scheduled breaks.
Poster sessions will be in uncontrolled spaces and therefore should not contain any restricted access information. A poster found to have restricted access content will be promptly removed.
Poster must conform to size guidelines distributed to accepted authors.
