Purple Heart Ranch and Broken S Ranch Welcomed Our Nation’s Heroes 
San Antonio, TX (February 13, 2023)–Military Warriors Support Foundation’s Skills4Life program stays busy hosting events for our nation’s combat-wounded veterans. Two events sponsored in December were a huge success for Skills4Life. The Danny Roberson Memorial Hunt was held December 8-11, 2022, at Broken S Ranch, and the Purple Heart Ranch hunt was held December 17-20, 2022.
Four hunters gathered in Sterling City, TX, for the 2022 Purple Heart Ranch hunt. Even though the weather was cold and the temperatures were dropping, each had multiple opportunities to tag deer for freezer meat. The hunters and guides gave it their all, and three Heroes tagged a deer. The previous year’s freeze and the summer drought did not make it easy on the deer over the last year. Despite this, all the Heroes had a great time fellowshipping and sharing memories. Military Warriors Support Foundation and Skills4Life would like to thank everyone involved, especially the Glass family, for hosting our Heroes and welcoming them with open arms.
The 2022 Danny Robertson Memorial Hunt was held at Broken S Ranch. Skills4Life had all but one Hero tag out for the hunt. Everyone had a great time; the food was excellent, and friendships were made. It was a memorial hunt for Danny Robertson, a long-time guide at Broken S Ranch and a friend to all; his presence was definitely felt. Skills4Life is already planning for the 2023 hunt, and as always, we are looking forward to our return to the Broken S Ranch.

HOLOSUN SCORES MAJOR POINTS AT SHOT SHOW 2023
If you were looking for something exciting from this year’s Shot Show, in Las Vegas, it had to be Holosun’s exhibit. I had a chance to chat with some super folks from the City of Commerce, in Los Angeles and received a guided tour of what’s next from a company that’s seen a meteoric rise in their markets. As all of you know, Holosun pioneered the integration of a solar panel on a weapon mounted red dot sight, a huge benefit when it comes to run times. For 2023, they continue that design but are now recharging an internal battery from the solar panel, a system branded as SCS (Solar Charging Sight). The internal battery will power the SCS host sight for 20,000 hours of continuous use. The SCS sights will be available for the GLOCK MOS, H&K VP9, SIG SAUER P320 and Smith & Wesson M&P. All of the sights ship with a 2MOA dot but can be switched to Holosun’s MRS (Multi-Reticle System). The SCS sights will be available in green and I believe the guys said red as well . You’ll start to see them Q2 of 2023. GLOCK MOS green sights are shipping already.

Also new for 2023, Holosun’s SCRS (Solar Charging Rifle Sight). In a addition to the solar charging feature the SCRS is as light and compact as you can get and still feature a 20mm tube. The first thing coming to mind when I saw this sight is the HK MP5 or MP7 in an SBR configuration, an ideal sight for the compact platforms. The dot intensity has two modes of operation: manual, which can be controlled via the nicely raised button or an automatic mode that uses a multidirectional light sensor, a feature that should eliminate the issues associated with firing from a poorly lite position into bright sunlight and finding that your reticle is so dim that you loose it in bright light. The SCRS is also a Q2 2023 availability.
Holosun surprised attendees when they announced two new sights: the DRS-NV (Digital Reflex Sight-Night Vision) and the DRS-TH (Digital Reflex Sight-Thermal) you won’t see these sights until Q4 of 2023 but they will knock your socks off. Both of these sights will support photo and video capabilities as well as recharging via a USB-C cable. Holosun is still working on features so the final design will likely be slightly different than what I’m showing here..

FAA Urges Laser Manufacturers, Distributors to Add Warning Label to Not Shine Lasers at Aircraft
High-powered laser pointers can incapacitate pilots flying airplanes with hundreds of passengers. To combat the threat, Acting FAA Administrator Billy Nolen requested laser manufacturers add a warning label to their packaging to make consumers aware of the safety risks and federal laws when using lasers.
“Lasers may seem like just a toy, office tool, or game for most, but they can incapacitate pilots putting thousands of passengers at risk every year. People need to be aware pointing a laser at an airplane is a federal crime,” said Acting FAA Administrator Billy Nolen.
Pilots reported 9,500 laser strikes to the FAA in 2022. Two hundred and seventy-eight pilots have reported an injury from a laser strike to the FAA since 2010. People who shine lasers at aircraft face FAA fines of up to $11,000 per violation and up to $30,800 for multiple laser incidents. The FAA issued $120,000 in fines for laser strikes in 2021.

Dear Laser Manufacturers and Distributors:
Many technologies and scientific advances are a net-good. While capturing their capability to improve the world, we are required to mitigate any risks they pose. Lasers are no different.
Lasers may seem like just a toy, office tool, or game for most, but they can incapacitate pilots putting thousands of passengers at risk every year. We need your help to combat this serious issue. The FAA requests that you add a warning label to your packaging to make consumers aware of the safety risks and federal laws when using lasers. The message below would achieve this:
“Pointing a laser at an aircraft threatens pilots, and it is a federal crime. U.S. law enforcement agencies and the Federal Aviation Administration may seek criminal and civil prosecution against violators. Don’t shine this laser at aircraft.”
Placing information directly in the hands of individuals ensures everyone knows the risk – and the penalties – of pointing lasers at aircraft. If you already have a warning on your packaging, the FAA asks that your company increase the warning’s prominence.
Pilots reported around 9,500 laser strikes to the FAA in 2022, and 278 pilots have reported an injury from a laser strike to the FAA since 2010. NSSF Recognizes U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz’s Longstanding Support for Project ChildSafe®
WASHINGTON, D.C. — NSSF®, The Firearm Industry Trade Association, presented an award to U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) for his longstanding support of Project ChildSafe®, the firearm safety program that has partnered with 15,000 law enforcement agencies in all 50 states and five U.S. territories to distribute over 40 million firearm safety kits, which include free gun locking devices.
Senator Cruz spoke during a Senate subcommittee hearing last year of his involvement at the inception of Project ChildSafe nearly a quarter century ago. He praised NSSF for administering the program that has been subsequently recognized for its efficacy by the National Safety Council’s Green Cross Awards and by the Government Accountability Office.
“NSSF is truly grateful to Senator Cruz for his commitment to safeguarding and protecting Second Amendment rights for all Americans and at the same time championing true firearm safety and responsible firearm storage,” said NSSF President and CEO Joe Bartozzi. “Senator Cruz proves each and every day that true gun safety doesn’t come at a cost of sacrificing Second Amendment rights. In fact, the strongest advocates of protecting Second Amendment rights are those like Senator Cruz who advocate for voluntary safe and responsible firearm storage methods that save countless lives.”
Senator Cruz spoke of his involvement in creating Project ChildSafe when he was serving as a staffer on then-Texas Gov. George W. Bush’s campaign in 1999. Gov. Bush brought Project ChildSafe to Texas with a state grant. That program has since grown to include partnerships with law enforcement to provide firearm safety materials and free locking devices nationwide.
“Critical to that is that it is voluntary,” Sen. Cruz said in a hearing last year. “That it is providing child locks so you have the equipment free of charge so that cost is not a barrier to being able to lock a firearm, but it is not mandatory. And I believe people can and should make a judgment about what the needs of their home, of their neighborhood, of protecting their family are. All of us want to prevent firearm accidents.”
To date, over 40 million free firearm safety kits have been distributed through NSSF’s Project ChildSafe campaign. This is in addition to over 100 million free locking devices voluntarily included with each new firearm shipped from a manufacturer. NSSF strongly encourages firearm owners to use any of the variety of safe firearm storage options available to secure firearms when not in use. Project ChildSafe is fully-funded by members of the firearm industry and a component of the industry’s Real Solutions, Safer Communities.® initiative.

Started in 2019, the NSSF’s Range-Retailer Business EXPO is the premier gathering for entrepreneurs, startups and established firearm retailers and shooting ranges. This knowledge-sharing event combines a dedicated range and retail trade show, buying opportunities, endless networking opportunities and top-notch education for every stage of a business venture.
Presentation / Roundtable Panel Discussion Details
Proposed presentations or roundtable panel discussions should cover no more than a 45-minute time slot, with dedicated time for questions and answers from the audience. The subject matter must be related to one of the topics listed below and the more interactive the session, the better. MISERICORDIA DESERT
Extrema Ratio Misericordia Desert preserves all the characteristics of the famous Misericordia, model adopted by the 4th Alpine Paratrooper Regiment, and is derived from the commemorative dagger made for the 140th anniversary of the 4th Alpine Regiment and the 70th anniversary of the institution of the Alpine Paratroopers.
It is a fixed-blade tactical knife meant for those circumstances in which a knife has to be extremely light and compact. The new desert coloration gives to this model a new tone that best meets the needs of the most modern operative units.
The blade is milled in Böhler N690 steel, heat treated to 58 HRC, and is 118 mm (4.64”) long and 4mm (0.16”) thick with a flat grind. The knife weights just 87g (3.1oz). The blade has a spear point profile with a full length fuller that makes it even lighter, and a false double edge for ¾ of its length. The finishing is stone washed.
The knife has a polymer grip that flows smoothly into the ring, topped by a skull crusher, that allows the use of martial arts techniques and grants a very solid grip on the knife. It has the classic Extrema Ratio groove near the front allowing a better grip and it is secured to the tang by a screw. In this version the grip is in desert.
Being a knife designed and intended for professional use, high relevance has been assigned to ease carry, access, and extraction in case of need. The knife is secured to the sheath by a fast release safety that can be easily reversed for left hand use. The highly resistant nylon sheath is also in desert and is very versatile; two adjustable loops allow the user to attach it to M.O.L.L.E. systems, allowing fast extraction in a tactical scenario.
An optional Kydex sheath can be purchased separately, with two Velcro straps that allow concealed carry between a ballistic vest and magazine pouches. This sheath can also be attached to a belt by means of belt clips (they can be purchased separately).

US Embassy in India Visits Indian Navy Station Operating Leased MQ-9
US EMBASSY IN INDIA VISITS INDIAN NAVY STATION OPERATING LEASED MQ-9
SAN DIEGO – 07 February 2023 – The Indian Navy has been operating General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) manufactured MQ-9 Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) under lease for over two years. Recently, Senior Staff from the U.S. Embassy of India visited the operating location.
The U.S. Embassy Staff were familiarized with the ongoing operation by a tour of the GA-ASI facilities set up within the Indian Naval Station by Indian Navy personnel. The U.S. Embassy Staff were briefed by the Indian Navy about the capabilities of the remotely piloted aircraft and its various sensors, their roles in aiding Indian Navy surveillance tasking, maintenance, and logistical support.
Dr. Vivek Lall, Chief Executive, General Atomics Global Corporation, stated, “GA-ASI is proud to be associated with the Indian Navy in this unique mission. The visit by Staff of the U.S. Embassy in India to witness MQ-9 operations from an Indian Naval Base, highlights the close synergy between our two countries in building credible defense cooperation for achieving and maintaining peace in the Indian Ocean Region.”

· Create and edit CNC programs to support the machining of complex, precision metal components on multi-axis CNC milling machines,
· Identify and select appropriate tooling for job-specific applications based on part material, geometry, features, tolerances, system rigidity, and equipment capability, and
· Work within a cross-functional team comprised of programmers, machinists, gunsmiths, and management to support program schedules and performance goals, mitigate manufacturing risks, and optimize efficiency.
The CNC Programmer with SolidWorks experience should have the following qualifications:

NSSF Applauds U.S. Sen. Kevin Cramer’s Fair Access to Banking Act Introduction
WASHINGTON, D.C. — NSSF®, The Firearm Industry Trade Association, applauded U.S. Sen. Kevin Cramer’s (R-N.D.) introduction of the Fair Access to Banking Act, S. 293, which would work to end the discriminatory lending practices of major banking institutions that seek to circumvent the legislative process and set social policy from the boardroom. The legislation has 36 co-sponsors.
The Fair Access to Banking Act would require banks to provide access to services, capital, and credit based on the objective risk assessment of individual customers, rather than subjective broad-based decisions affecting whole categories or classes of customers.
“Senator Cramer’s ‘Fair Access to Banking’ legislation is a bold and principled stand that will put an end to ‘woke’ financial discrimination,” said Lawrence G. Keane, NSSF Senior Vice President and General Counsel. “This legislation will ensure financial institutions make decisions to offer services to lawful businesses based on verifiable financial data and not the shifting political or social views of banking executives that are unaccountable to the American voter. For too long, banking institutions have arbitrarily denied services to legal and Constitutionally-protected businesses such as those in the firearm industry, to advance a politically-driven agenda that would deny critical financial services to the industry that provides the means for law-abiding citizens to exercise their Second Amendment rights. The firearm industry thanks Senator Cramer for his work to guarantee all legal and regulated American companies have fair and uniform access to financial services as required by Federal law.”
The Fair Access to Banking Act would stop corporate banks from picking winners and losers based on executives’ personal politics. It also protects banks from outside pressure by special interest groups seeking to use the banks as a political weapon to advance their agenda.
Corporate banks have privatized “Operation Choke Point,” the illegal discrimination scheme that began under the Obama-Biden administration. The Department of Justice (DOJ) and Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC)-led effort directed financial institutions to deny entire industries access to services, including the firearm industry. Despite being a Constitutionally-protected industry, the Obama-Biden administration illegally coerced banks to end existing business relationships and deny new ones.
After the illegal practice was ended under the Trump administration, banks and special interest advocates privatized this scheme by adopting policies that specifically denied firearm businesses financial services for the sole reason of being in the business of selling certain types of lawful firearms. They forced these discriminatory practices while exploiting taxpayer-funded resources like FDIC insurance protections.

SANTA FE, NM: On Monday, February 6th, ASA Executive Director Knox Williams testified in the New Mexico Senate Health and Public Affairs Committee in opposition to Senate Bill 171. Immediately following Knox’s testimony, Sen. Soules offered an amendment to delete the provision banning suppressors. The amendment was adopted by a bipartisan 6 – 1 margin, thus removing the suppressor ban from SB 171.
“In a dozen years of lobbying for suppressors, I’ve never seen anything like this happen,” said Knox Williams. “The facts and the science are on our side, and Owen Miller, ASA’s Vice-President, and I came prepared with our knowledge to fight tooth and nail for suppressors. In a rare occurrence in politics, logic and common sense prevailed. We are ecstatic that we were able to protect suppressors from being banned, and applaud Senator Soules for removing that provision. Nonetheless, even as amended SB 171 is a draconian and unconstitutional bill that needs to be stopped.”

Now Available to the U.S. market, Tasmanian Tiger® unveils the TT Multipurpose Equipment Insert, the TT Modular Equipment Case, and the TT Modular Laptop Case.
Knoxville, Tenn. (February 2023) – Tasmanian Tiger®, a tactical nylon line of products distributed exclusively for the US market by Proforce Equipment, Inc., is pleased to introduce three new products to the U.S. market from its tactical accessories line: the TT Multipurpose Equipment Insert, the TT Modular Equipment Case, and the TT Modular Laptop Case. These products will be available for purchase through TT Authorized Dealers.

The TT Multipurpose Equipment Insert is a padded inner bag with flexible dividers, suitable for the TT Modular Pack 45+. The main compartment features a lockable slider. It has a padded, zip-off front lid with a top handle. There is an external second opening for a camera on the top side. It also features transparent mesh interior compartments and a small organizer. With the hook and loop strips on the outside, it can be fixed precisely to modular hook and loop panels. The loops on the upper edge can be used to attach the insert to all MOLLE panels or the TT Modular Front Seat Panel with TT SE 256 Safety QA Buckles.

The TT Multipurpose Equipment Insert weighs 2.78 lbs. (1.26 kg.) and measures 12.5” H x 16” W x 6” D. It is made from T-Square Rip FD. Available in Olive, Black, and Titan Grey for an MSRP of $239.

The TT Modular Equipment Case is an all-around padded shoulder bag with a 15-liter volume. It is versatile and can be used as a weapon bag, equipment bag, or camera bag. It features a MOLLE hook and loop panel on the inside, as well as flexible, padded dividers. The separate, width-adjustable laptop compartment (suitable for up to 12” laptops) can also be used as a weapons compartment. The flap is secured with hook-and-loop and quick-release fasteners. An extra zipper allows quick access from the top.

It also features detachable shoulder padding, rubberized on the underside, as well as a size-adjustable carrying strap. The TT Modular Equipment Case has a durable, reinforced handle and a mesh pocket on the inside of the lid. The case features a MOLLE system for attachment of a holster, magazine pockets, etc. under the lid.

The TT Modular Equipment Case weighs 2.78 lbs. (1.26 kg.) and measures 15.35” H x 10” W x 6” D (39 H x 25 W x 15 D cm). It is made from Cordura® 700 den and T-Square Rip FD. Available in Coyote, Black, and Titan Grey for an MSRP of $239.

The TT Modular Laptop Case is part of the TT Tac Series. It is a functional laptop bag suitable for security personnel or civilian use. The pouch has removable hook and loop attachments on the back side so that it can be attached to modular backpacks and bags. There is a padded 15.4” laptop compartment, a durable, reinforced handle, and a flap with hook and loop closure.

The TT Modular Laptop Case weighs 14.46 oz. (410 g.) and measures 9.8” H x 15” W x 1.57” D (25 H x 38 W x 4 D cm). It is made from Cordura® 700 den. Available in Black and Olive for an MSRP of $69.95.
