KMW and Elbit Systems Sign Rocket Artillery Cooperation Agreement
Munich, June 2022 – Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (KMW), Ulm-based defense company Elbit Systems Deutschland, and Elbit Systems Land have signed an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) to further expand the strategic cooperation.
The background is the modernization and expansion of capabilities of the European Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS). In this context, Elbit will provide a modern active agent portfolio so that the requirements of MLRS users can be fully met, from range-enhanced rockets to practice ammunition. The users will thus also be able to train combined arms operations.

A traditional oil-finished select-grade walnut matches the rifle’s dark nitrided barrel and receiver. Federal Sponsored Shooter Derrick Mein Wins 2022 Trap National Championship
ANOKA, Minnesota – July 28, 2022 – Team Federal congratulates Derrick Mein on his recent victory at the 2022 Trap National Championships held at the Halter Shooting Sports Education Center near Hillsdale, Michigan. For the second year in a row, Mein claimed the Men’s Open Event over some stiff competition from members of the U.S. Army’s Marksmanship Unit and Federal and Olympic teammate Brian Burrows.

Henry Donates 50 Rifles
to Benefit Parents of Pediatric Brain Cancer Victim
Danica Brianna Mulholland of Levittown, Pennsylvania passed away earlier this year after a battle with pediatric brain cancer lasting over 3 years.
Rice Lake, Wis. – July 28, 2022 – Henry Repeating Arms, one of the country’s leading firearm manufacturers, is donating a limited-edition series of 50 “Danica Strong” rifles to raise funds for the family of Danica Brianne Mulholland after a battle with pediatric brain cancer took her life at just twelve years old. All proceeds from the Guns For Great Causes campaign will be presented to the Mulholland family of Levittown, Pennsylvania, in memory of Danica to assist with any remaining medical and funeral expenses.
When most children would be opening presents on Christmas Day 2018, Danica was undergoing a CAT scan at her local hospital due to a worsening headache and nausea that alerted her parents about something being wrong. The results would change their lives forever when a 3cm lesion was found on Danica’s brain, leading to the official diagnosis of a grade IV medulloblastoma. Danica then underwent surgeries and a full course of treatment at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) over the following three years.
Tragically, as Henry Repeating Arms began developing the “Danica Strong” rifles to help with the medical expenses associated with pediatric brain cancer, Danica succumbed to her illness. Even through her treatments, Danica’s kindness prevailed. In 2020, she made and donated thousands of homemade ear savers for healthcare professionals and fellow cancer patients in the Philadelphia area. Danica had an artistic, creative eye and wanted to be a makeup artist when she grew up. She was also a natural at archery and loved spending time at the shooting range.
“It brings tears of joy to us that Henry is honoring the memory of our precious Danica with such a beautiful rifle. The detail in the artwork capturing Danica’s bumblebee pillow pet is astonishing,” says Danica’s father, John Mulholland. “Those close to her know that bumblebee brought great comfort during her difficult journey. We are sure Danica is smiling ear to ear, looking down at all this.”

SAN DIEGO – 27 July 2022 – An MQ-9B SeaGuardian® Unmanned Aircraft System from General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) is under contract with the U.S. Navy to support the Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) 2022 exercise. RIMPAC, the world’s largest international maritime exercise, started in late June and continues until early August in Hawaii and Southern California operations areas.
GA-ASI’s SeaGuardian is a maritime derivative of the MQ-9B SkyGuardian® and remains the first UAS that offers multi-domain Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance and Targeting (ISR&T) as an internal payload that can search the ocean surface and the depths in support of Fleet Operations. The UAS is also providing real-time ISR data feeds to the U.S. Pacific Fleet Command Center using Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) parametrics and full-motion video to the watch floor and intelligence centers for real-time, dynamic tasking.
As of July 25, 2022, 11 flights totaling over 80 hours have been flown by SeaGuardian showcasing all operational payloads, which includes Electronic Intelligence (ELINT), Communication Intelligence (COMINT), Automatic Identification System (AIS), Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) monitor and control of sonobuoys, GA-ASI developed Lynx® Multi-mode Maritime Radar, high-definition Electro-Optical/Infra-Red (EO/IR) imaging system and Link 16.
SeaGuardian’s multi-domain capabilities allows it to flex from mission to mission and pass real-time sensor data directly to the Fleet through Link 16 and satellite feeds to the shore-based command and intelligence centers. During RIMPAC, the MQ-9B has effectively passed ISR&T information to various surface and air units, such as the USS ABRAHAM LINCOLN, Guided Missile Destroyers, Littoral Combat Ships, frigates, patrol boats, P-8s, P-3s and a litany of other U.S. and foreign units taking part in the exercise.

iXblue and ECA Group demonstrate successful subsea asset tracking to Polish Naval Academy
Saint-Germain-en-Laye (France), 26/07/2022 – iXblue and ECA Group recently demonstrated successful subsea asset tracking in shallow waters using iXblue Gaps M7 USBL (Ultra Short BaseLine) positioning system and ECA Group new R7 ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle).
Hosted by their local partner THESTA, a Polish company providing maritime navigation services and communication systems for the defense sector, the demonstration was organized for the Polish Naval Academy and NAVSUP 2022 attendees with the aim of showing that accurate positioning of underwater targets is possible in a potentially hostile and fast-approaching environment, in coastal regions characterized by shallow waters and often limited access.
As part of the mission scenario, ECA Group’s R7 ROV investigated objects and structures submerged in the shallow waters of the Baltic Sea in Gdynia harbor. iXblue Gaps M7 USBL acoustic positioning system was deployed to geolocate the R7 ROV and correct its trajectory in real time. A fixed transponder was also placed several hundreds of meters away from the vessel, at only 5 meters deep. The trials were carried out in water depths of 7 to 10 meters, surrounded by many docks and vessels causing significant acoustic echoes.
Despite challenging acoustic conditions, the positioning of the ROV and the transponder was stable and accurate. Extremely efficient in shallow waters, Gaps M7 ensured excellent horizontal tracking capabilities with omnidirectional coverage and 200° acoustic aperture. With no calibration required, it was easy to deploy and ready to use, saving precious operational time on the field.
The ROV inspection was successful despite the low visibility. Such environments make the use of traditional cameras impossible, but the HD acoustic inspection camera performed remarkably, providing high-resolution data with superior localization accuracy. The R7 combines the compactness and maneuverability of mini-ROVs with the performance and power of professional observation-class ROVs. It embeds a wide range of fast-equipped payloads and operates well under harsh sea conditions, making it the perfect ally of Navies for quick and efficient subsea interventions.
“The R7 ROV along with the Gaps M7 USBL acoustic positioning system is able to transmit information accurately, even in noisy and difficult acoustic environments. They both enable fast operation as well as regular and quick position updates, even in very shallow waters, which is a definite asset for the navies, given their need for a fast, clear and concise picture of the battlespace to quickly maneuver naval forces in the field.” says Cezary Majchrowicz, Technical Director at THESTA.

(July 2022) – Walk The Talk America (WTTA), a non-profit organization designed to bridge the gap between the firearms industry and owners and the mental health industry, is pleased to announce its Mental Health Awareness Flyer has been translated to Spanish, thanks to Bersa, an Argentinean founded manufacturer of quality firearms. WTTA’s Mental Health Awareness flyer will now be double-sided; the front side will be in English while the back side will be in Spanish. These flyers are provided to gun manufacturers or firearm store owners to distribute with each sale helping to inform gun owners of available mental health resources. According to an article published on Forbes.com in May of 2021, 13 percent of the U.S. population speaks Spanish at home. If the data continues to trend this way, then by 2050, one in three U.S. citizens will speak Spanish (including bilingual people who also speak English).
