Barnett’s Family of Slingshots Provide Shooting Fun for Everyone

Barnett’s Family of Slingshots Provide Shooting Fun for Everyone

2021-Barnett-Logo-Badge-sized.png

Tarpon Springs, FL (September 22, 2022) – Slingshot shooting is a fun, active and challenging sport for the whole family – and has been for generations. Barnett® modernized the slingshot and currently creates models for everyone, from beginners to advanced sharpshooters. From the backyard to the backcountry, the sport of slingshot shooting creates lasting memories.

Barnett’s beginner models include the Strike Nine and Black Widow slingshots. Both models feature a comfortable soft-touch grip. Three advanced models – Pro Diablo, Cobra and Diablo – have features for more power and precision, plus full-sized grips for teen and adult shooters. Barnett also offers replacement slingshot bands, target ammunition and steel ammo for small game hunting.

The Black Widow put Barnett on the map as the leader in slingshot technology – its foldaway brace was a big step forward in slingshot design. The brace provides better leverage and a longer power stroke when the wrist brace is engaged. And thanks to its compact shape brace, it won’t take up extra space when folded. The Black Widow has the power and accuracy for hunting and target shooting.

The Strike Nine is a pocket-sized slingshot offering durable construction with good range and accuracy. It’s a perfect option for youth interested in hunting small game and parents who want to ensure they learn the basics of safety and control on the range.

The Diablo slingshot delivers increased power and precision. This advanced slingshot comes with a detachable wrist brace, contoured soft-touch grip, target ammo and an instructional shooting guide. With its magnum power bands, it hits targets hard.

With stability comes precision, and the Cobra’s unique front stabilizer and sight system allow users to stay on target with reduced vibration. Its magnum power bands and longer brace add to this slingshot’s performance, and it’s ready to shoot straight from the package with included target ammo.

Barnett’s most advanced slingshot is the Pro Diablo. It features a three-piece stabilizer designed to combat vibrations for smooth, balanced shots and an adjustable sight for pinpoint precision. The Pro Diablo includes an instructional shooting guide, practice ammo and magnum power bands. It’s everything slingshot enthusiasts need to take their shooting – in the field or on the range – to the next level.

CZ 75 REPUBLIKA auctioned for a record amount

A limited edition CZ 75 REPUBLIKA pistol was auctioned on Tuesday, 13 September 2022 at an evening organized by the Goltz Fortress Gallery in the Czech Republic. The gun was auctioned together with other works of art. The price of 980,000 CZK (40,000 EUR) even surpassed the “Girl in the golden dresses” statue by the well-known Czech sculptor Olbram Zoubek. The CZ 75 REPUBLIKA pistol was sold for the highest amount from all works auctioned that evening, thus proving that alongside important works of art, engraved firearms from CZ are among today’s best investments.

The auction at the Goltz Fortress Gallery confirms the unique value of engraved and limited edition firearms from CZ. The original price of the CZ 75 REPUBLIKA pistol was 200,000 CZK (8,160 EUR). In May of 2019, a CZ 75 REPUBLIKA pistol donated by the Colt CZ Group was auctioned at the Kodl Gallery in the Zofin district of Prague for 650,000 CZK (26,500 EUR). In 2019, US President Donald Trump received the CZ 75 REPUBLIKA pistol as an official gift from the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic. At an auction on the evening of 30 March 2022 by Forbes magazine and the Svobodu Ukrainy Iniciativa (Freedom for Ukraine Initiative), a limited edition CZ 75 TOBRUK pistol was auctioned for 5 million CZK (204,000 EUR).

In 2018, on the 100-year anniversary of the establishment of the Czechoslovak Republic, CZ released the CZ 75 Republika limited edition pistol. It consisted of only 100 pieces, each of which featured high quality, hand-engraved motifs of Czechoslovak state symbols and a unique serial number.

The full-size, all-steel, 9mm Luger CZ 75 B model, which is a modern successor to one of the most famous Czechoslovak weapons of all time, served as the base of the CZ 75 Republika edition. The frame and slide come with a blued finish and are polished to a high gloss, with the barrel polished to a high gloss as well. The outer edges of the frame and slide are highlighted by a decorative line of inlaid 24K gold. Engraved motifs of a linden tree branch, which formed an important part of state symbolism during the Czechoslovak Republic’s interwar period, are placed within these highlighted areas. The front and back of the grip also feature this engraving, which replaces the usual vertical checkering, for a more secure grip. Gold edging and the linden tree engraving are also found on the bottom of the magazine baseplate.

The trigger, hammer, slide stop, magazine release and manual safety are also plated with 24 carat gold. Elements that protrude from the right side of the frame, together with the extractor and screws that hold the anatomical grips in place, are gold-plated as well. The grips are made from briar root and come with a varnish finish that accentuates the beautiful grain of the brown wood.

This special period is further represented by a small coat of arms that was used by the Czechoslovak Republic from 1920 to 1938. It’s a faithful copy made of gold (certified by a hallmark) and set into the right side of the frame, between the safety and slide stop.

The left side of the slide features the inscription “PRAVDA VÍTĚZÍ” (“TRUTH PREVAILS”), which is a motto used on the flag of the President of the Republic and in the country’s greater coat of arms, and CZ 75 REPUBLIKA. Both inscriptions are written in a stylish Art Deco style font. The traditional CZ trademark and caliber designation remain in their usual places. On the left side of the frame is the smaller inscription “Vyrobeno v České republice v edici 100 kusů“ (A 100 piece edition made in the Czech Republic).

On the right side of the frame, a serial number within the range of CSR-1918 to CSR-2018 (unique for each of the 100 pistols) is inscribed beside the proof mark on the slide and the barrel that’s visible within the ejection port. On the front part of the slide, on the right side of the firearm, is the anniversary of this edition: 1918-2018.

Each CZ 75 REPUBLIKA pistol comes in a unique display case that’s made from three types of wood. Carved into the top of the lid is a linden tree branch motif that encircles the Czechoslovak greater coat of arms from the First Republic. The sides of the case are covered with a veneer of dark burr walnut.

A microplush, dark red velvet padding covers the inside of the display case. A portrait of the first Czechoslovak president, Tomas Garrigue Masaryk, together with the Czechoslovak Republic’s greater coat of arms, are printed on handmade paper that’s mounted under the lid. Two tricolor ribbons are used to hold the lid open. As an extra layer of protection, each case is delivered within a black laminated cardboard box that bears the CZ logo.

THE SECRET OF SOYLET GREEN IS NO LONGER A SECRET

download

I got chewed out again for not having a shoot the shit. Those upset about that, please recognize that we haven’t had much to talk about until now, but before I get started, let me know how you guys are all doing? This inflation and high fuel prices have been a real pain in the ass. I have a weakness for Klondike Bars and they are now selling $2.60 higher than a year ago, crazy. Troubling is the fact that it doesn’t look like there’s an end in sight, especially with the troubles the EU’s economy is facing, but this is not your classic inflation where you have too much money chasing too few goods. It was a supply chain problem amplified by the extended lockdowns imposed by California, New York, Illinois and Michigan, a bad decision made by capriciousness, and a total lack of understanding. But that’s a voter problem unlikely to change if voters in those states continue to vote the same way. Since it’s been a while since I’ve had a shoot the shit, let me tell you what it is.

A shoot the shit, is a social interaction where participants gather to discuss any desired topic. Participants don’t need to know anything about the subject, are free to make unsupported comments, use uncensored profanity, insult anyone they wish or change the subject altogether. Normally, this is something you would do in front of a psychologist at $150+ per hour; however, doing so means you’d be paying a jackass who majored in psychology so they could understand themselves. The United States produces over 100,000 psychologists annually which explains why we’re showing 3rd grade kids how anal sex is performed. Now, I have no issue with lifestyle choices, but 3rd grade?

So, let’s get started.

Before I get to the main topic, I had an idea. As the transgender movement gains momentum, a number of universities across the country are getting into the business of performing gender change surgery. So, why should they be the only ones making money? I got my idea while driving past a Vietnamese owned and operated nail salon. What if you started a franchise and called it Lin’s Dong Gong, I think it could work, and Black Rock may even do a private placement. Now to today’s topic…

During a phone conversation, a friend mentioned that his wife ran across a news article talking about the passage of a California law allowing COMPOSTING in lieu of cremation or burial. I thought to myself, he’s got to be shitting me, well he wasn’t.

The Sacramento Bee published a piece on 9/19 that I’ll briefly quote below:

“Californians will be able in a few years to compost their bodies after death under a new law signed Sunday by Gov. Gavin Newsom. The process, called natural organic reduction, involves placing a corpse in a steel vessel and covering it with materials such as wood chips, alfalfa, and straw until it decomposes. The remains are returned to family members or can be mixed into soil in a conservation area. Washington was the first state to allow people to choose human composting as an alternative to burial or cremation, followed by Colorado and Oregon. Under the new law, California officials must come up with regulations by 2027.”

You can read the full piece here

As with California’s Electric Vehicle mandate, there will undoubtedly be several equally inept jurisdictions to follow and do the same thing. So, where are you likely to see an immediate implementation? The homeless community.

This law has the effect of trivializing life downgrading it to no more than an ambulatory pile of Nitrogen and Carbon; once that happens murders become an emotional problem rather that what it is, a gross disregard for the sanctity of life. Now, allegedly, these morons see the law as fighting climate change. Someone should tell them that decomposing organic matter generates a sizable amount of CH4, methane. What this law achieves is taking the first step to SOYLET GREEN !

In this 1973, and now prophetic film, the secret of Soylent Green is revealed through the work of Charlton Heston.

Watch the trailer

Given the law passed in California, how long do you think it will take before we dehydrate corpses and use them for food? Take this seriously because it can happen in the not too distant future..

You can change this trajectory by voting in November, but don’t expect a change if you’re voting as you’ve been voting. Have a great weekend, and schedule your own shoot the shit with your friends or family.

GA-ASI CREATES ADDITIVE DESIGN & MANUFACTURING CENTER OF EXCELLENCE

New Center Uses Additive Parts to Streamline Manufacturing of UAS

SAN DIEGO – 21 September 2022 – General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), the world leader in the design and manufacture of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS), radars, and electro-optic and related mission systems solutions, has established a new Center of Excellence for its Additive Design and Manufacturing (AD&M). The Center is focused on rapid-reaction manufacturing of GA-ASI’s line of UAS using fully functional and flight-ready Additive Manufacturing (AM) applications, research and development, large-scale tooling, and next-generation flight hardware.

Over the past decade, GA-ASI has invested in the onboarding of Additive Manufacturing (AM) technologies, as well as leading the formation and rapid growth of a dedicated AM department five years ago.

“GA-ASI is continually looking for ways to enable, accelerate, and integrate Additive Manufacturing technologies into our designs, our operations, and our products,” said GA-ASI President David R. Alexander. “Through our AD&M Center of Excellence, we’re using a structured and stringent qualification process for AM applications that delivers a positive business case for us over conventional manufacturing methods. Through a comprehensive and holistic approach, our team of AM professionals are working to increase the adoption of AM parts for the benefit of our aircraft and ultimately, our customers.”

GA-ASI has qualified over 300 flight components across the different AM modalities used for production. In order to develop and qualify flight-capable AM applications, GA-ASI is expanding its AM ecosystem composed of the key elements required for bringing an AM application from a prototype stage (print right once) to a production-level stage (print right always).

GA-ASI’s AM ecosystem has enabled the advancement of repeatable and reliable production-grade 3D printing within the company. This has been supplemented by ecosystem-controlled processes, the establishment of an applications team, and a well-defined expansion roadmap.

GA-ASI performs some recurring production activities at its AD&M Center of Excellence, but the demand for rapid-reaction and low-rate manufacturing has required the development of a strong AM manufacturing supply chain for the overflow production of complex end-use thermoplastics and metal parts.

GA-ASI estimates that the use of AM parts on its new UAS platform – the MQ-9B – has saved the company over $2 million in tooling costs and over $300,000 per aircraft in recurring cost avoidance by using approximately 240 AM parts on that aircraft platform. Overall, the number of AM applications continues to grow rapidly, fueled by the AM ecosystem established at GA-ASI. As a result, the company already has more than 10,000 additively manufactured components on the aircraft it has produced, and the new MQ-9B SkyGuardian® and SeaGuardian® models are leading the industry in the use of AM parts.

About GA-ASI

C&H Precision is the Mounting Plate of choice for the FBI

C&H Precision is the Mounting Plate of choice for the FBI

Richmond Hill, GA (September 20, 2022) – C&H Precision Weapons – a leader in the industry of mounting pistol optics – has a storied history of use in the hands of many DoD and agency hands. The FBI has used C&H as their optics mounting plate for many years. These mounting plates can accommodate an entirely different optic footprint by taking the older pistol slides and upgrading them. This begs the question,” is it good enough for me, a consumer?”

Many individuals know that the military often contracts with the lowest bidder. Mil-Spec is usually a nice way of saying “cheap,” but not many corners are cut regarding internal and external law enforcement agencies. C&H Precision is used by many of the nation’s elite law enforcement agencies. One of the largest federal law enforcement agencies is the FBI.

The Bureau’s needs are broad. There are many considerations when it comes to pistols and optics mounts. Not only do the mounts need to meet the Bureau requirements, but they also need to meet the needs of an individual user. Anyone who carries in the field must be comfortable with the optic and mounting on their pistol. Because of the diverse environments, optics and mounting plates must be incredibly rugged and durable. This goes far beyond the nomenclature of “mil-spec.” The FBI isn’t restricted to budget like the military, so quality takes precedence over cost.

Looking more closely into C&H Precision Weapons, it’s easy to see that the same standard of excellence necessary for FBI use is found in all consumer products. Because there is no differentiation between Bureau use, each mounting plate is built to the same standard. So, the question remains: if CHPW is good enough for the FBI, is it good for me? At this point, that’s a no-brainer. As C&H is the industry standard, it’s easy to rely comfortably on the proven and effective mounting options from C&H Precision Weapons.

Fort Worth, Texas (September 20, 2022) – Innovation comes in many forms. New metals and finishes are constantly being produced and upgraded. However, one finish tends to stand apart because of its durability. Titanium has long been seen as a wonder metal. It’s hard to break. It’s natural to want to carry a nicely finished tool, and titanium makes that happen. Even when utilized as a finishing material, the durability of the finish is far better when employing titanium. GA-ASI Opposes New Chinese Agriculture Project in Grand Forks

GA-ASI OPPOSES NEW CHINESE AGRICULTURE PROJECT IN GRAND FORKS

Proposed Corn Mill Presents Opportunities for Sophisticated Military-Related Espionage

SAN DIEGO – 20 September 2022 – General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), a leading designer and manufacturer of unmanned aircraft systems for U.S. and allied military forces around the world, firmly opposes a new Chinese agricultural investment near Grand Forks Air Force Base, N.D., and calls on the U.S. government to halt the project.

A Chinese agricultural conglomerate plans to develop a large-scale corn milling plant on 370 acres in Grand Forks, just 15 miles from the air base and many established U.S. defense industry operations. Grand Forks welcomes many U.S. defense technology companies, including GA-ASI, which uses local airspace to conduct significant test and evaluation efforts related to unmanned aircraft, radar systems, and other advanced military technologies. The proposed agricultural project represents a major vulnerability for maintaining the necessary secrecy and integrity of classified weapons, communications frequencies, satellite connectivity and many other technologies vital to global security.

“Chinese business efforts are inextricably linked with Chinese government efforts,” said GA-ASI spokesman C. Mark Brinkley. “We can’t ignore the opportunity for sophisticated military espionage to co-locate itself within a Chinese business of such scale and scope. Given the proximity to critical national airspace and sensitive military operations on and around Grand Forks Air Force Base, American leaders should be very, very concerned. I know I am. So, we’ve got to act.”

The Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States or another similar authority must stop the corn mill project, Brinkley said, in view of the security risks it poses.

The Chinese investment project presents problems for America’s allies too. GA-ASI has operated in the Grand Forks area for more than a decade and grew its Flight Test and Training Center to more than 20 acres beginning in 2018 in order to serve as a home for UAS pilot and maintainer training for all systems deployed worldwide, including in the militaries of international allies. UAS crews from the United Kingdom’s Royal Air Force will begin training there later this year, learning to pilot and maintain the UK’s new advanced MQ-9B Protector aircraft, built by GA-ASI.

GA-ASI recognizes that the proposed corn mill would be located on American soil and may be operated by many U.S. citizen employees, but its foreign ownership and control mean there is no simple way to ensure the facility does not someday play host to electronic surveillance or other activities that pose security risks to American and allied unmanned aviation.

“We understand the significant economic opportunities this proposed agricultural project represents for the people of Grand Forks and the state of North Dakota,” Brinkley said. “But no measure of assurances from the company can ever offset the tremendous risk being introduced. The strategic national security value of Grand Forks cannot be overstated, and that’s why we’re asking the U.S. government to act swiftly to protect this asset.”

OUTDOOR DISCOVERY: Next Generation Technology

Minelab Announces Next-Generation Multi-Frequency Technology

New high-power Multi-IQ+ helps metal-detecting hobbyists and treasure-hunting professionals find and discriminate targets in the ground better and easier than ever

Chicago, IL (September 20, 2022) – Metal detectors used to work on a single frequency. That means one could typically find a limited range of metals at one time. Then, switchable multi-frequency detectors were introduced that allowed detectorists to find multiple types of treasure. The only problem was that treasure hunters needed to know in advance what they were looking for.

Everything changed when Minelab – the world leader in metal detecting technologies – pioneered simultaneous multi-frequency technology. For the first time ever, detectorists could use breakthrough Minelab Multi-IQ Technology in powerful VANQUISH and EQUINOX detectors to find any metal in any soil at any time.

Next-Generation Minelab Technology

Today, Minelab announces its newest-generation Simultaneous Multi-Frequency engine: Multi-IQ+. Building on the successes and capabilities of its original Multi-IQ technology, Multi-IQ+ transmits more power through the coil at an even wider range of operating frequencies. The result? Better and more accurate detection of even more targets in the ground.

Multi-IQ+ employs completely revamped signal processing to deliver enhanced discrimination, greater target ID resolution and improved target separation. It also gives detectorists a greater ability to fine-tune discrimination and audio signaling to best suit the detecting conditions at hand. What’s more, Multi-IQ+ remains beautifully simple to use, providing a graphical target trace visualization of target responses on a two-dimensional Target ID map. Ultimately, these visual tools give detectorists better information to help them decide when it’s time to dig or time to move on.

Next-generation high-power Multi-IQ+ technology will be available on Minelab’s all-new MANTICORE metal detector, coming to Minelab dealers worldwide next month.

ABOUT MINELAB:

Minelab is an Australian, multi-award-winning business that has successfully scaled world markets to command global leadership in its key areas of operation. GA-ASI to Open New Secure Advanced Manufacturing Facility in 2023

GA-ASI TO OPEN NEW SECURE ADVANCED MANUFACTURING FACILTY IN 2023

Secure Facility in Poway Will House Advanced Development and Manufacturing of Cutting-Edge UAS

SAN DIEGO – 20 September 2022 – General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) has been investing in key technologies for the development of advanced Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) throughout its 30-year history. The company has delivered more than 1,000 aircraft that have flown in excess of 7.5 million flight hours, but the company has always had an eye toward the future, through its ongoing commitment to delivering the world’s most capable unmanned systems.

The latest capstone in GA-ASI’s plan is the completion of a new state-of-the-art composite manufacturing facility that is set to launch the next generation of highly reliable autonomous unmanned aircraft.

“As the world leader in unmanned aircraft systems, GA-ASI is charting the new frontier for low-cost, survivable aircraft that are highly effective for the warfighter,” said GA-ASI President David R. Alexander.

The new Secure Advanced Manufacturing (SAM) facility is in the heart of GA-ASI’s 40+ building campus in Poway, Calif. GA-ASI is focusing the talents of its advanced engineering and manufacturing teams into a single location where they will design, build, and integrate the next generation of UAS.

The new site will be used for end-to-end development of advanced UAS needed to win in future conflicts. It will be a self-contained entity, where engineering will be on the floor with manufacturing, along with finance, contracts, and supply chain staff. This new facility will provide a very streamlined and agile manufacturing environment, which carries the company’s integrated product development culture.

“Our new facility will house the full development and creation of GA-ASI’s Digital Product Definition (DPD) strategy,” said Alexander. “Interconnecting the manufacturing, engineering, and business process workspaces in a manner that interweaves product engineering, cost accounting, and part status, which will allow GA-ASI to optimize all aspects of the program’s life cycle.”

This strategy leverages the company’s multi-year investment in digital design tools and the move to a fully digital business process. GA-ASI has built prototype parts using the DPD process that were integrated into Full-Scale Determinant Assemblies. The prototype effort also integrates novel inspection techniques that detect and characterize planned flaws.

The company pressed forward with this building project during the height of Covid, to the great benefit to their equipment suppliers during a time of economic uncertainty. Suppliers were able to meet their delivery dates and install new equipment on time and construction is now expected to be complete by mid-2023. The company committed funding for renovation and the city of Poway and regulatory organizations were very supportive and helped to meet all the project approval milestones, enabling the team to meet the aggressive construction plan.

GA-ASI FLIES COMPLETELY AUTONOMOUS UAS FLIGHT USING AVENGER® MQ-20A

Live Fused Tracks for Lockheed Martin Embedded IRST Dynamically Updated Flight Path

SAN DIEGO – 19 September 2022 – General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) used a company-owned Avenger® MQ-20A Unmanned Aircraft System to fly a military aircraft using an Artificially Intelligent (AI) pilot deployed on an operationally relevant, Open Mission Systems (OMS) software stack on Sept. 12, 2022.

The Avenger’s completely autonomous flight used an AI pilot for close to 30 minutes as a part of a cooperating live, virtual, and constructive UAS swarm. The flight was performed as part of GA-ASI’s ongoing commitment and investment into the development of advanced autonomy of AI and Machine Learning (ML) for UAS.

The flight made use of GA-ASI’s novel Reinforcement Learning (RL) architecture to develop and validate an RL agent in an operationally relevant environment. RL agents provide a new and innovative tool for next-generation military platforms to make decisions under dynamic and uncertain real-world conditions. The team flew “chase and avoid behavior” where real-time updates were made to the flight path in order to avoid adversaries using live fused tracks. Live tracks were provided to the system using the Infrared Search and Track (IRST) sensor network that was supplied by Lockheed Martin.

“The flight was a tremendous success and demonstrated a number of groundbreaking capabilities in the race to operationalize autonomy for Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA),” said GA-ASI Senior Director of Advanced Programs Michael Atwood. “It’s exciting to see how AI can be used to advance how and where we fly unmanned systems as the complexity of the battlespace increases. Our ‘chase and avoid’ agent’s ability to dynamically update the flight path as threats were identified is the first step towards building an ecosystem of collaborative autonomous combat aircraft.”

TacIRST™ is a new class of multifunction, embeddable sensor system with an open architecture. It was developed by Lockheed Martin to provide a range of capabilities for both crewed and uncrewed aircraft. “We anticipated the need for passive, long-range threat detection by autonomous aircraft and are proud to see this capability integrated successfully on the Avenger,” said Terry Hoehn, Director of Lockheed Martin’s Advanced Threat Warning Systems. “We look forward to further collaboration and testing with GA-ASI.”

The team used a government-furnished CODE autonomy engine and the government-standard OMS messaging protocol to enable communication between the RL agent and the Tactical IRST. By utilizing government standards, such as CODE and OMS, rapid integration of autonomy for collaborative combat aircraft becomes possible.

General Dynamics Mission Systems also supplied key technologies to the flight. The mission computer used to host the OMS software is part of the Digital Backbone Node (DBN) family of systems from General Dynamics Mission Systems. The DBN architecture enables rapid and secure deployment of evolving capabilities needed for CCA through application of the latest government open architectures, high-performance computing, advanced cooling, and a high-speed backplane with multi-level security to maximize battlefield collaboration between platforms.

This flight was another in an ongoing series of autonomous flights performed by GA-ASI using internal research and development funding to prove out important AI/ML concepts for advanced UAS.

Streamlight Introduces Dualie 3AA Color-Rite Light

STREAMLIGHT® INTRODUCES DUALIE® 3AA COLOR-RITE LIGHT

Dual Beam LED Flashlight is Intrinsically Safe; Also Provides True Color Recognition

EAGLEVILLE, PA, September 16, 2022 – Streamlight® Inc., a leading provider of high-performance lighting tools, introduced the Dualie® 3AA Color-Rite®, an intrinsically safe, high-performance LED flashlight that provides the option of bright, white light or high CRI light with Streamlight’s Color-Rite Technology® for true color recognition in industrial, automotive and other applications. The compact, hand-held light, which is powered by easily sourced AA batteries, is safety-rated for use in Division 1 environments faced by many professionals; it is also ATEX and IECEx-certified for use in Zone 0 locations and InMetro approved.

The dual beam light includes a high-power white LED for bright area illumination and a High Color Rendering Index (90 CRI) LED with Streamlight’s proprietary Color-Rite Technology to better see the color spectrum. It offers three output modes: a spot beam for distance illumination, a soft, wide flood beam to illuminate work areas and to aid in true color recognition, and a combined spot and flood beam.

“The Dualie 3AA Color-Rite provides the option of bright white light for illuminating large areas, or a high CRI beam that is ideal for auto detailing and painting, differentiating colored wires, spotting finish imperfections or other tasks that require exacting attention to detail,” said Streamlight Chief Revenue Officer Michael F. Dineen. “With the Dualie 3AA Color-Rite, users have two lights in one.”

The new light’s spot beam provides 225 lumens and 8,000 candela over a 179-meter beam distance, while the flood beam delivers 175 lumens, 380 candela, and a 39-meter beam distance. The combined spot and flood beams offer 320 lumens, 7,000 candela and a 167-meter beam distance. The light includes separate dual head switches for easy user activation of either function. The two beams can be activated simultaneously by depressing both switches.

Run times for the Dualie 3AA Color-Rite are 8 hours in spot mode, 8.5 hours in flood mode and 5 hours when the beams are combined. The light is powered by three AA size alkaline or lithium batteries.

The lightweight Dualie 3AA Color-Rite is constructed from an engineered polymer resin that is impact- and chemical-resistant and features an unbreakable polycarbonate lens with a scratch-resistant coating. It offers a superior, slip-resistant grip texture that is both comfortable and easy to use with gloves. Its rugged, integrated, snag-free clip conforms to the body of the light and grabs easily onto shirts, pockets and other gear for hands-free use.

The Dualie 3AA Color-Rite weighs 6.6 oz. and measures 7.00 inches in length. The light is IP67-rated for dust-tight and waterproof operation to 1 meter for 30 minutes. It is available in high visibility yellow, while the ATEX/IECEx and InMetro models are available in international safety orange.

Dualie® 3AA Color-Rite® models range in MSRP from $75.00 -$95.00 and come with Streamlight’s Limited Lifetime Warranty.

NSSF’s Project ChildSafe, Las Vegas Metropolitan PD, USCCA, Bass Pro Shops, and Local Leaders Address Firearm Safety, Suicide Prevention in Las Vegas

September 17, 2022

NSSF’s Project ChildSafe, Las Vegas Metropolitan PD, USCCA, Bass Pro Shops, and Local Leaders Address Firearm Safety, Suicide Prevention in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS — NSSF® The Firearm Industry Trade Association, the U.S. Concealed Carry Association (USSCA), the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and Bass Pro Shops distributed firearm safety and suicide prevention resources, including free gun locks, at a special Fall Outdoor Sports and Firearm Safety Event today to help prevent firearm accidents, thefts and misuse, and to bolster suicide prevention efforts across the city.

“Secure storage is the number one way to help prevent unauthorized access to firearms,” said Joe Bartozzi, President and CEO of NSSF. “Since September is also Suicide Prevention Month, this is a great opportunity to talk about preventing access by at-risk individuals. We are grateful to USSCA, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, Bass Pro Shops and all our local partners for joining us in this effort to save lives.”

NSSF has provided resources to support the local effort through its nationwide Project ChildSafe® initiative. Project ChildSafe encourages gun owners to secure their firearms when they’re not in use with a gun lock, lock box or other device, to store ammunition separately, and to talk with their kids about gun safety. The program has also partnered with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to make thousands of free gun locks available to residents.

“These locks and materials are available to everyone – no questions asked,” said Sheriff Joseph Lombardo of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. “We want to encourage anyone who has a gun in their home to take the steps to store it securely and responsibly when not in use. It really can make our community safer and help save lives.”

To support suicide prevention efforts, the local effort also offers a free resource for parents focused on teen mental health and firearm storage, developed through a partnership between NSSF and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

Today’s event was organized largely by representatives of USCCA, as part of a larger “Project ChildSafe Las Vegas” community campaign, with support from several local vendors, including Homeland Personal Protection, At the Ready, The Gun Store, Sheepdog Armory, Las Vegas Office of Suicide Prevention, Clark County Fire Department, Intermountain Healthcare, Movinque BBQ and Kona Ice.

“When it comes to our children and people in our homes, we want to prevent any type of firearm, especially those that are loaded, from being accessible, stolen or misused. If these firearms are left unsecured and available, that’s a tragedy waiting to happen, and it’s so easily preventable,” said Paul Martinez with USCCA.

About NSSF

The National Shooting Sports Foundation is the trade association for the firearm industry. Its mission is to promote, protect and preserve hunting and the shooting sports. Formed in 1961, NSSF has a membership of thousands of manufacturers, distributors, firearms retailers, shooting ranges, sportsmen’s organizations and publishers nationwide. About Project ChildSafe

NSSF, The Firearm Industry Trade Association, launched Project ChildSafe in 1999 (originally as Project HomeSafe). The program has provided more than 40 million free firearm safety kits that include a gun lock to firearm owners in all 50 states through partnerships with thousands of law enforcement agencies. That’s in addition to the more than 70 million free locking devices manufacturers have included, and continue to include, with new firearms sold since 1998. While helping to prevent accidents among children is a focus, Project ChildSafe is intended to help adults practice greater firearm safety in the home. More information is available at projectchildsafe.org.

About The USCCA

The U.S. Concealed Carry Association (USCCA) is an association of responsible, armed Americans whose members get exceptional self-defense education, lifesaving training and self-defense liability insurance, preparing them for the before, during and after of a lawful act of self-defense. GUNSITE ACADEMY LOST A LEGENDARY INSTRUCTOR AND RANGEMASTER WITH ED HEAD’S PASSING

May be an image of 1 person

Gunsite Academy

With a heavy heart, we are saddened to report the passing of our co-worker, Gunsite Rangemaster, and old friend Ed Head.
Ed came to us several weeks ago, sharing that his doctors had found health issues and later was found to have inoperable cancer. He asked not to share this at that time. Friends, church family and Gunsite Family rallied around Ed and Jean these last several weeks assisting in every way possible. He passed comfortably at home surrounded by Jean and close friends.
Ed (Was) was a US Air Force Security Police Officer from 1972-1976, specializing in nuclear weapons security. Also, he was the Captain of a weapons and tactics competition team.
He entered the US Border Patrol in August 1977 and was assigned to San Diego, CA. During his tenure, he supervised a Patrol Group of 19 supervisors and 160 Agents at the Imperial Beach Border Patrol Station. His stories of his time there are near-legendary. Successfully completing the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) Firearms Instructor Training Program with a Distinguished Master rating, he began working as a Range Officer conducting all firearms training and qualifications for the Chula Vista and Imperial Beach Border Patrol Station. That later morphed into the Sector Firearms Instructor and then the Senior Firearms Instructor for the San Diego Border Patrol Sector, including more than 2500 agents. Additionally, he was the Founder, Rangemaster and first club champion of the San Diego Law Enforcement Combat Shooters Association.
Ed retired after 24 years with the USBP, retiring in 2001.
Ed met the love of his life Jean in and they were married over 36 years. They shared many adventures from horses to recent travel in their RV.
The other great love of his life was Gunsite. He began attending Gunsite in 1988, earning the coveted “Expert” (“Golden E”) rating in many of his classes. He attained his Instructor Rating at Gunsite in 1992. Ed worked as Operations Manager from February 2005 to September 2010 and then resumed his lengthy teaching career at Gunsite. His career as a writer in the gun industry also began to flourish, writing for NRA Publications and working with Michael Bane on video productions. Ed taught his last class at Gunsite late May of 2022. We know it was a very difficult moment for him to come to us in early June to let us know of his illness and withdrawing from the active instructor roster. We assured him he was only being moved to the “injured reserve” list and we looked forward to his return.
A Memorial Service will be held by the Canyon Bible Church led by the Gunsite Alumni Pastor John FIlke on a date to be determined at the Gunsite Classroom, 2900 West Gunsite Road, Paulden, AZ 86334.
Please keep Jean and friends and family in your prayers.

With great respect,
Ken

Sauer 100 6.5×55 SE Caliber Recall

Sauer 100 6.5×55 SE Caliber Recall

San Antonio, Texas (September 16, 2022) – A specific barrel batch in caliber 6.5×55 SE, which is used in the SAUER 100 model, is being recalled as a precautionary measure. The rifles in question, that we have identified based on their serial numbers, must not be used any longer and should be returned to SAUER USA in exchange for a new rifle. This batch of barrels in caliber 6.5×55 SE has shown that a progressive premature weakening of the barrel material may occur after a high volume of shots, which could lead to severe damage of the rifle and personal injury. The exchange is, of course, free of charge for the customer.

You can check which rifles are affected by the recall by plugging in the serial number of your rifle at the following link:

SAUER Recall

Please reach out to Sauer USA at recall@blaser-group.us or (210) 377-2527 ext. 243 if you have any questions. For Canada residents, please contact The Gravel Agency Inc at csr@gravelagency.com
