EAGLEVILLE, PA, October 27, 2022 – Streamlight® Inc., a leading provider of high-performance lighting and weapon light/laser sighting devices, launched the 2,000-lumen ProTac® 2.0, a high-performance rechargeable handheld tactical light, offering extreme brightness and long run times. The rechargeable light is powered by the new Streamlight SL-B50® battery pack that charges directly via an integrated USB-C port.

“This latest addition to the ProTac series of tactical handheld lights gives first responders, outdoor enthusiasts, technicians and other users an ideal light for everyday use that provides ultra-bright light while not sacrificing run times,” said Streamlight Chief Revenue Officer Michael F. Dineen. “They also will appreciate the convenience and ease of charging the new SL-B50 battery pack either inside or outside of the light, via a USB-C charge cord.”

The ProTac 2.0 uses the SL-B50 proprietary Streamlight 4,900mAh protected Lithium-Ion USB rechargeable battery, accessed by the light’s sliding sleeve. The battery is keyed to ensure proper alignment of the charging port, and features LED status lights to indicate charging status, including red for charging and green for fully charged. An integrated safety circuit protects the battery from accidental overcharge or discharge.

The new light offers the latest in power LED technology for extreme brightness and provides three operating modes – High, Medium and Low. On High, it delivers 2,000 lumens and 17,300 candela; on the Medium setting, it provides 570 lumens and 5,000 candela and on Low, it offers 100 lumens and 890 candela. Run times range from 25 hours on Low to 2.5 hours on High. The light’s strobe features a 4-hour and 25-minute run time.

The ProTac 2.0 uses a TEN-TAP® programmable switch, which allows for user selection from among three programs: high/strobe/low (factory default); high only; or low/medium/high.

Fabricated from 6000 series machined aircraft aluminum with an anodized finish, the ProTac 2.0 also features an anti-roll head and a gasket-sealed lens. Its multi-function, push-button tactical tail switch permits one-handed operation of the momentary, variable intensity or strobe modes. The light also comes with a removable, multi-position pocket clip, holster and USB-C charge cord.

The ProTac 2.0 is 6.10 inches in length and weighs 8.25 ounces with one included SL-B50 rechargeable battery. The light has an IP67-rated design for dust-tight and waterproof operation to one meter for 30 minutes and is impact resistance-tested to two meters.

Available in black, the ProTac 2.0 has an MSRP of $195.00. It comes with Streamlight’s Limited Lifetime Warranty.

A Dual-Purpose Grip Plug – The Speed Feed from C&H Precision

Richmond Hill, GA (October 27, 2022) – While polymer striker-fired pistols revolutionized the defensive and competition shooting world, there is always room for improvement. Glock – one of the most recognized firearm brand names in the world – has long been the standard for striker-fired pistols. They continue to expand their offerings with new generations of firearms. However, one area with room for improvement on Glock firearms is the cavity in the grip.

Many companies have produced grip plugs for a variety of reasons. One of the first reasons is to keep dirt and debris out of the cavity in the handle. Another reason is that it’s wasted space and can offer a bit of counterbalance to assist in straight and effective shooting or storage. Lastly, many offer an intricate design to assist the feeding of a magazine into the mag well.

C&H Precision aims to solve all three potential uses with their Speed Feed. Made from polymer, aluminum, or brass, the Speed Feed offers exceptional quality. The optimized feed ramp angle for reduced ‘speed reloads’ is built into each model. For law enforcement, competition shooters and EDC users, C&H Precision also offers a polymer Speed Feed that doubles as a backup battery storage compartment. It can hold a battery as large as CR2032 or as small as CR1225; it can supplement power for most pistol optics.

For Law Enforcement and Competition Shooters, the increased weight in a grip can mitigate some recoil. The brass Speed Feed is Precision CNC Machined and weighs 1.8 oz – for G19 – or 2.6 oz – for G17 frames. If a little less weight is required, the Aluminum model is also available.

Federal Ammunition Shooter Vincent Hancock Takes Home Two Medals at the ISSF World Championship

ANOKA, Minnesota – October 27, 2022 – Federal Ammunition congratulates sponsored shooter Vincent Hancock—a three-time Olympic gold medalist and four-time World Champion—for winning two Silver medals at the 2022 International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Championship, held in Osijek, Croatia. Hancock brought home a silver medal in Men’s Individual Skeet and a silver medal in Men’s Team Skeet with U.S. teammates Dustan Taylor and Christian Elliott.

“This was a great event for me and for many other athletes on Team USA Shooting. However, in their youthful enthusiasm, they are vulnerable to what I’ll only describe as the excrement of society from dangers like rainbow fentanyl that comes in a variety of bright colors, shapes, and sizes, including pills, powder and blocks that resemble sidewalk chalk. There’s only one word that describes fentanyl – LETHAL

Supervise your kids closely, inspect anything that’s given to them and don’t rely on knowing your neighborhood. Unfortunately, we have a Democrat Party that’s more interested in getting reelected and promoting transgenderism to grade-schoolers than protecting our kids from fentanyl, which has accurately been described as a WMD.

This message is in lieu of a full shoot the shit, which as you know is a social interaction during which any topic is discussed by participants knowing nothing on the subject, all are free to make unsupported comments, use uncensored profanity, insult anyone they wish or change the subject. Kansas City, Kansas (October 26, 2022) – Built on an enhanced soft-recoiling CZ 712 shotgun, the 712 G3 shotgun smokes clay targets and tumbles game birds like autoloaders which cost twice as much! With a classic look and performance-driven features, shooters will be able to handle both light and heavy loads making the CZ 712 G3 a great choice no matter the situation.

The new CZ 712 G3 is at home on the clay target course or in the field. Its gas-operated mechanism softens recoil and cycles 2 ¾- and 3-inch shotshells. The shotgun comes with two pistons, for light and heavy loads. Either piston accepts a wide range of shotshells within its designation. With the light piston installed, soft recoiling shotshells for target shooting can be cycled easily. While with the heavy piston installed, the CZ 712 G3 can take on even the hottest loads waterfowl hunters use. 

The 712 G3’s chrome-lined barrels hold up under extended firing and ensure consistent patterns through five furnished extra-long Active-Choke tubes. The CZ 712 G3’s receiver and barrel wear a handsome, durable matte black finish that minimizes glare and can be paired with either black synthetic, camo, or walnut stocks.

Prudent shooters are sure to appreciate the shotgun’s ergonomics. The stock features a new thicker recoil pad that tames the kick from stiff magnum loads. With 1 3/8 inches drop at nose comb and 2 1/4 inches at the heel, the 712 G3 comes to cheek fast. Its 7mm ventilated rib instantly aligns the eye to target.

A stock-to-receiver shim system allows left-handed shooters to change cast to allow their left eye to align perfectly with the rib.

Laser-cut checkering on walnut stocks keeps hands from slipping and makes this one of the best-looking semi-automatic shotguns on the market. It has an oversize safety located in front of the trigger for instant access. The 712 G3 also features an oversize bolt release and a larger charging handle to speed operation with gloved hands. The 712 G3 weighs approximately 6 ½ to 7 ¼ pounds, depending on stock material and barrel length.

A limited edition set of two hand-engraved Colt 1911 and CZ 75 handguns called Tribute to Legends commemorates last year’s merger of two renowned small arms manufacturers – Colt and Ceska zbrojovka (CZ). Decoration of the pistols was undertaken by the internationally respected artistic gun engraver René Ondra who transforms serial products into high value works of art. The first of a total of 50 sets will be auctioned off on November 27, 2022, in Prague’s Kodl Gallery and the proceedings will be donated to the Army Solidarity Fund, the Police and Firefighter Foundation, and the fundraising bank account of the Embassy of Ukraine in the Czech Republic to support the Ukrainian army.
“We decided to name this edition “Tribute to Legends” because both handguns and their manufacturers are among the best in their field, with a rich history and generations of satisfied users. Anti-Jam, LPI/LPD Solution Delivers Higher Data Rates

SAN DIEGO – 25 October 2022 – General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) successfully completed an air-to-air laser communication link between GA-ASI’s Laser Airborne Communication (LAC) terminals integrated onto two company-owned King Air aircraft. Laser communication is desirable for military applications because of its Low Probability of Intercept/Low Probability of Detection (LPI/LPD) and anti-jam capability that can support much higher data rates than radio frequency systems.

“This air-to-air demonstration was a major success and marks a critical milestone for GA-ASI’s Lasercom development team,” said GA-ASI Vice President of Mission Payloads & Exploitation, Satish Krishnan. “The success of this flight will pave the way for more opportunities to demonstrate crosslinks from aircraft to other platforms, including unmanned aircraft, maritime vessels, and space systems.”

The aircraft flew out of Montgomery Field in Kearney Mesa, Calif. on Sept. 26, 2022, and performed the test in segregated airspace near Yuma, Ariz. During the flight test, the team maintained a link at 1.0 Gigabits per second (Gbps) and exchanged data, including real-time navigation, video, and voice data.

GA-ASI has developed a family of optical communication capabilities and will play an important role in transitioning these capabilities to users in a variety of domains, from air to sea. GA-ASI expects that laser communications will enable Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) produced by the company to perform beyond-line-of-sight communications for airborne, maritime, and ground users who also use optical communications, as well as with future air-to-space optical communication applications. This capability can be applied as a podded solution to GA-ASI’s full line of unmanned aircraft, including MQ-9B SkyGuardian®/SeaGuardian®, MQ-9A Reaper and MQ-1C Gray Eagle 25M.

FAA Updates Recreational Drone Flying Guidance

WASHINGTON— The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) today issued guidance on how to become an FAA-recognized community-based organization for recreational drone flying.

Under federal law, recreational drone flyers must follow the safety guidelines of a FAA-recognized community-based organization. The organization is required to develop its safety guidelines in coordination with the FAA and an applicant may wish to tailor them to a particular type of unmanned aviation.

The FAA’s guidance, Advisory Circular 91-57C provides a comprehensive list of recommended safety guidelines that applicants may consider using in their application. Organizations that meet the legal definition of a community-based organization may apply for FAA recognition through the FAA’s DroneZone website.

The updated guidance also provides information on applying for recreational flying fixed sites, hosting sponsored events and educational use requirements.
